Sanjeeda's second coming
The 'Nimmo' girl on her new show 'Kayamath' and her much-publicised spat with Eijaz Khan
Sanjeeda Sheikh maybe disappointed over the marginal success of her first TV show 'Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka' (Star One) but that doesn't deter her from exploring the medium. She is now playing Ayesha in 'Kayamath' (Star Plus).
She admits to having refused several offers because she was keen on working with Balaji Telefilms. "I had faith in Ektaa's (Kapoor) vision. Besides Ektaa told me that this was the role that had been specially conceptualised with me in mind," she reveals.
Sanjeeda elaborates, "I play the role of Prachi's (Panchi Bora) stepsister, a girl who hates men because her father had been unfair towards her mother. It's a complex character." Also, Sanjeeda has gone in for a new look in 'Kayamath'.
So how does she summarise her experience working in 'Nimmo'? Sanjeeda recalls, "We had a lot of fun on the sets. Bhartiji (Achrekar) and I were very fond of each other. She would often get home cooked food for me." But there were some hitches too, like the differences she had with co-star Eijaz Khan.
"Eijaz and I did have differences. But on hindsight, I feel that we were really stupid." So have the two patched up? "We are not sworn enemies. We are cordial, which is enough," she replies. A trained choreographer, Sanjeeda intends to set up a dance institute someday.
