No one fought for him, his dad left him, mother misguided him whole life, lover insulted him publicly when he needed her the most. But dialogue is given to Katha Devi who actually struggled only financially, that too only few years.
I mean just because her situation today doesn't really evoke much sympathy, doesn't mean her past struggles can be discredited. It's not like she's had a cushy, privileged life. Getting orphaned young, then getting widowed young with a kid not even a toddler, and then having to see your kid fight a life-threatening disease while also managing to keep a roof over your head and food on the table is not some walk in the park. I would think financial troubles would be the least of her problems when faced with the fear that comes with death and disease.
