Hey Everyone! How're you all? I'm good thanks 😛 Okay, so this part MAY be boring to a lot of you (sorry no Robbie today) but this part unfolds some secrets that will hold MAJOR importance in the future! I've also added music to this part- at the end of this part you will get all the information of the songs (who sang them, etc) Okay so REALLY sorry if you get bored, but bare with me! In the next few parts, this story will take a major turn! 😉
Part 7- Father,Daughter moments
She quietly stepped into her house, carefully trying not to make a sound. JP must have been taking his evening nap, which he truly deserved after working the night shift at their store. After her mother passed away, JP had stepped into what the doctors called "depression." He'd begun working like a madman, not coming home for days!
Over that period of time, Kasturi had been living with Principal Gupta and his wife. Since they didn't have any children, Kasturi was never treated like a stranger. They spoiled her with gifts, and take extremely good care for Kasturi while her dad was gone.
But as the months passed, Kasturi had become more and more worried over her father. He was beginning to look ill, and became extremely tired over the smallest things. The doctors told him to lay off heavy work, it took time, but JP began calming down. And soon, he'd been taking only the night shifts.
JP didn't like to worry his daughter, so he came up with excuses, blaming his old age. But both knew that there was something horribly wrong with him. It wasn't until the summer of 2004 where Kasturi had found out that her father was a victim of blood cancer. The doctors predicted that JP had 2-5 years left to live. After that, her life had taken a drastic turn.
Her dad was everything for her; he was the reason why Kasturi wanted survive. And it pained to see her father dying in front of her, but she couldn't do anything about it. She couldn't save the only man she had loved so much!
JP: Kasturi! Honey, are you home?
Kasturi: Yea dad!
She walked into the kitchen, and grabbed an apple from the fruit basket.
Kasturi: What're you doing awake?
JP: Well, I was kind of hoping that we'd have a day all to ourselves you know? I mean, I don't have much time Kas-
She blocked his mouth.
Kasturi: No dad! (Eyes tearing up) Don't say that. (Voice fades off) Please.
Watching her daughter break in front him made JP became emotional. But he had to be strong. He had to be both a father and a mother to his daughter, and he swore to his wife that he would never give up on life. Even if he didn't have enough life in himself.
JP (breaking the tension): So, you ready to bake some cookies?
Kasturi: SURE! J
After months, Kasturi and her father were spending quality time with each other. They were very close, and shared a very strong bond- but after JP's illness had been discovered, Kasturi tried to distance herself from her father. She loved him, but she couldn't watch him die! He meant way too much to her, and she hated God for breaking her family.
Kasturi: Dad! You can't have the chocolate ones!
JP: But Kasturi! You always get the chocolate ones!
Kasturi: That's because I can eat chocolate- doctors told you to stay away from sweets, remember?
JP: Oh Kasturi! You're such a mom!
Both began laughing.
Kasturi: Like mother like daughter-
She stopped mid sentence.
Kasturi: D-dad, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to
JP: Mean to what? Kasturi come here! (puts one of his arms around her) Just because she's not here with us, doesn't mean that she won't be remembered. She'll always be your mother, and she'll always be my wife. J"
Kasturi: I know.
JP: Okay! So what're you standing around for! Go turn on some music!
Kasturi turned on the radio to her favourite station.
Song: What I like about you~ by the Romantics (link provided: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Jp5GhTty_TQ&feature=related)
Kasturi: C'mon Daddy!
She pulled her fathers hand and began dancing around the kitchen floor, pretending to sing into a mike (which was actually a spatula)
"What I like about you."
Kasturi (singing): You really know how to dance!
"Keep on whispering in my ear!"
JP singing: TELL ME ALL THE THINGS THAT I WANNA HEAR!
"Cause it's true! That's what I like about you!"
Kasturi: Daddy, I never knew you could dance that well (being sarcastic)
JP: You haven't seen anything yet!
After all that heavy duty dancing, Kasturi decided to take a seat, while her dad placed the cookies into the oven.
Radio person: Well that was "what I like about you" by the famous Romantics! And now, our last song for the hour... what we've all been waiting for! Give it up for Robbie's new release- me against the world!
This caught Kasturi's attention. She'd heard so many people go on and on about how good of a singer he was- she had to see this for herself.
(Guitar plays, and gets louder Song link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=y3VdqxS8mEs)
"We're not gonna be just a part of their game. We're not gonna be just the victims! They're taking our dreams and they tear them apart 'till everyone's the same!"
She tried to listen to the words, but the music was just so loud!
"I'm a nightmare, a disaster."
Kasturi (thinking to herself): You bet you are.
"That's what they always said. I'm a lost cause, not a hero. But I'll make it on my own. I've gotta prove them wrong. Me against the world. It's me against the world."
Kasturi: People actually like this stuff?
JP: Like what?
Kasturi: Oh! Dad you scared me! (turns off Radio) No, I was just listening to this song.
JP: It's certainly something I never pictured you listening to.
Kasturi (laughs): Daddy! It's just that the guy who sang this song happens to be our new student.
JP: Oh yes! Ram (principal Gupta) told me about some new students who arrived a few days ago. And you're handling them?
Kasturi: Yea. Unfortunately! I don't get why Ram uncle always puts me in charge. I have so much to do dad. I can't keep putting this extra load on me!
JP (sits beside Kasturi): Whoa whoa! Kasturi... what's wrong? You've never spoken like that before! Do you not like the new students?
"Like? HA! Like is a far way to go dad."
"Kasturi?"
Kasturi: Huh? Uh- no dad. It's nothing like that. I think I'll go get some sleep okay?
JP (calling after Kasturi, who's already headed upstairs): But the cookies?
Kasturi: I'll eat 'em tomorrow! I'm sure Muski and Raunak will love them too!
-- Next day, at Kasturi's locker
Kasturi was busy organizing her locker just like the way it was earlier. She placed her textbooks on the top left sideboard, and her notes on the bottom shelf. She tried stuffing her bag inside, but there was no room!
"Ugh! Stupid locker!"
Rahul, whose locker was beside Kasturi's, was having a hard figuring out how to use this "contraption."
Rahul: Uh. Kasturi?
"Yea, any problems?"
Rahul: How do you open this thing?
Kasturi couldn't help but laugh to herself. "You don't know how to open a locker Rahul?"
Rahul, totally embarrassed feeling as though he had asked the most stupid question ever, hesitated in answering her.
Kasturi: Here, let me help you!
She showed him step by step how to use a combination lock. Rahul had explained how in his previous private school, all the lockers had voice activated locks- not combos.
"There! J"
Rahul: Oh! So that's how it works! Thanks Kas!
Kasturi: No problem.
She went back to her organizing, when Muskaan approached her!
Muskaan: Oye! Are those Uncle J's cookies?
Before she could answer, Muskaan had already dug into Kasturi's bag and pulled out the cookies and began munching on them- 2 at a time.
Muskaan: Mmm! Kassy tere dad bohut acha baker hai! (Kassy, your dads an awesome baker!) I LOVE these things!
Rahul: Tumhe toh sab pasand hai! Suvar! (You love everything! Pig...)
Muskaan: Oye pagal! Suvar kisse keh rahi hai.. tu toh kissi kaam ka nahin hai! (You idiot! Who're you calling a pig- you good for nothing fool!)
Rahul: Kissi kaam ka nahin?? Kya isse zyada bezatti meri bhi tum kar sakte ho?? (GOOD FOR NOTHING? Is that the best insult you can come up with?)
Muskaan: Oh...isse bohut zyada kar sakti hoon... bewakoof, khota, pagal! (Oh I can come up with so much more! You loser, donkey, foolish retard!)
Kasturi, who had been watching Rahul and Muskaan fight for the past five minutes, was actually quite amused. It was funny how they argued over the strangest things- "What were Aunty and Uncle thinking, wanting to get them married?" But as soon as Muskaan grabbed Rahul's collar, she knew it would get violent!
Rahul: Ki karan wali hai tu?? Huh?? (What're you gonna do ' huh?)
Muskaan: Abhi dekatha hu! (I'll show you right now!)
Muskaan grabbed Rahul's sleeve, and both Kasturi and him watched in horror as she slowly tore it off the rest of his shirt.
Rahul: MY CASHMERE SHIRT! Tere toh!
Kasturi stepped in between the 2, not wanting to turn a simple argument into the talk of the school!
Kasturi: MUSKAAN! (grabs Muskaan's arm) What are you doing? What were you thinking! What's Rahul gonna tell people if they ask?
Muskaan: He should have thought of all that before messing with me. (Gives Rahul the fist, and walks off with Kasturi.)

2.The first song "What I like about you" is by the Romantics, who happen to be a really old band .. now don't think that I listen to old music, which I do at times, but I particularely like this song, and thought it would be perfect for this part!
3. The song "Me against the world" is sung by Simple plan- my favourite band, and I have a feeling I will be using a lot of thier songs! Maybe by the end of this FF, ya'll will love them as much as I do 😳
