Devika is she wrong?

Am I the only one who feels that devika has tried to do the best for her children? and has become public enemy #1 for just happening to be at the right place at the right time? Devika isn't evil she just wants the best for her son, yes she likes money, power and no offence who doesn't it makes the world go round.?

Wanting the best for your children is perfectly acceptable but wanting what you think is best, for your children is completely wrong.

Any amount of money is not satisfactory for Devika. She wants Robbie to marry so more money can come in. And for this she reached so low, it is unacceptable to me!!!!

Kitnaa paisa chahiye yaar? Its not like they are begging in streets. They were already minting money and she put her son's life at stake for more money? You think that is 'wanting good' for your children? And if Robbie was going to marry some slut or down-grade girl, then she could have stopped him. But he was marrying Kasturi a very sanskaari, strong and intelligent girl. A girl who had set him on the right path. Devika knew Kasturi and still did what she did.

Sorry, she is a curse on motherhood.

Every mother wants to do best for her children nothing wrong in it but using your kid as if he is the money machine isn't right. As i said earlier, Devika has failed 2 understand her own son. She knw Robbie was in love wid Kasturi but if she knw her son inside out she wud have understood what his son's life wud have been widout Kasturi d girl who taught him to believe in love & relationships. What she cared abt is Robbie career getting affected bcoz of Kasturi entering his life as she thought Robbie is giving more priority 2 Kasturi than 2 his work but she didn't c how responsible Robbie had become tht time. Devika wanted Robbie 2 marry Ishita not bcoz her son will be happy but so tht Robbie gets Mital empire in his name. Devika is notr satisfied wid what she has but wants more & more. In her this quest she has somewhere destroyed her son's life wid her own hands.

okay pragalbha, you say she's a curse on motherhood, but yaar look at her pov, this is a lady who lived her life for her kids, even when her husband pretty much deserted her and her kids, she raised them and with every ounce of khoon and pasinah, and grew the business to some extent, yes the shinghanias have their share in helping as well. Also she knows robbie really well she just underestimated his luv for kasturi she probably thought hey tohraah rooyega phir raashtey pah aagjyega, i mean robbie wasn't ever the type to fall in luv he even use to say i dont beleive in luv, so she had no reason to believe this wasnt just a passing infatuation or affair. yes kasturi is a great gal to have for a dil, but whats wrong in a mother wanting the best for her child (in her view, lots of parents will get their kids married where they want to even if its not what the kid wants). In eastern culture parents hold the tight rein on what a child becomes, be it studying, their proffession, heck alot of mil if they could would only want grandson, its sad to say but true, even today.

so in conclusion i feel she's not wrong in her eyes as a mother, and since i'm a mother yeah we make mistakes but i feel she still had robbie's best interest at heart, she just didnt realize that he was that crzy about kasturi. that was where she was wrong... i hope i'm making a little sense?

and as for devika unsatiable hungry for wealth and money well that a whole other topic, and i couldnt agree with you more 😆

She worked hard her whole life and built a business and so she now wants her children to pay up? Yeh kahaan ka insaaf hai.
Working hard for your children, is what every mother does. I don't think Devika did anything special. Moreover, I think more than her kids, its her insatiable hunger for money that made her work.

And which mother hurls that on her children's face??? Devika never leaves an opportunity to tell Robbie how much she did for him. That is the characteristic in her that I hate the most!

Next, I don't think she underestimated RK love. I think she knew exactly how strong it was and that's why she left no stone unturned to make sure that she separates them. If she thought it was passing phase, then she would have left them alone.

Also you say she wanted best for Robbie. What was that best? More money.

And Robina, I am gald to reply to this post. Actually I like it. You started something other than RoKa vs RaKa and its refreshing 😃

I agree with ur POV and also Pppp's POV... As a mother who brought up her children and also managed their business so well, its natural to have tat kadvaaaness in her nature... She might have expected a lot from her hubby but may be she got betrayed and so she turned out like how she is now.. So may be tats the reason she wanted her son not to fall in luv and she wanted to protect her son from all this luv pain and torture 😳

So in tat way she is definitely correct becos even If RK were married now, i dont think the relation wud have lasted till now as they both behaved very kiddish

Even though RK are suffering now but simultaneously they are learning.... The only painful thing is they are learning thro the hard way.

And Ppppp's and Shruti's POV is also true, there is no need for her to earn more money as they have enuff to survive comfortably with all the luxuries.. So she was wrong in tat sense and also she was wrong to use Shivani's death for her own selfish reasons

thats how i see it, now look at nadini she a perfect mil to date, but all of a sudden with the wealth gone she's now blaming kasturi, so lets not say devika is the only one who likes money, and i have to say usually the more wealth one accumulates the more they need to sustain that level of comfort. wealth breeds wealth (god i hope i dont get kicked out for this post).

she was wrong to use Shivani's death for her own selfish reasons I thought she used that to help get the shinghania's out of the ss mansion, so that robbie wouldn't have that constant reminder of what he lost.😉 see two sides to every coin.

@Pragalbha: i dont feel she wants him to pay up but she as a mother has a right to want her kids to maintain their legacy of the buisness, and keep it prosperous, i think all parents want to see their kids reach their potential and divika has fallen under this basis that she knew her son has it to take it all the way to the top, and yeah to see him reach new heights, and now looking at rouanks haal i cant say open heartedly that she is completely wrong, kasturi makes alot of mistakes and thats why now nandu is after her😉 but have to say i luved what you wrote, and somewhere in my evil mind i'm like yeah mayebe I should stop playing divika's (ooop I mean devil's advocate..)

@shurti thank you for replying, and i do agree with you, but just want to add yes money today is everything for devika because when she needed to rely on someone noone was there, and so she learned that wealth is the only thing that can give you something to hold on to a foundation to stand on when noone is standing with you, may not be much for a loving family, but the saberwal's are far from your average loving family...😉. Yes in her quest she has somewhere goofed up big time but this is the question did she do it intentionally, did she ever really think that robbie would go this far in his quest to get his lady love back? would he really loose everything for kasturi, i mean they weren't dating for that long? and alot of people have commented that kasturi wasnt as deeply in luve with robbie as he was with her, so maybe looking at devika's pov she thought maybe my son's reading alittle too much into this relationship....😆

robina...you are treading on dangerous territory...so much empathy for Devika?? 😆 i agree with pragalbha...devika is doing what SHE thinks is good for her children...i dont think she respects them as individuals and grown ups. i treat my 15 month old with more respect than devika does with her 25 yr old! also, though she has always been at the right place at the right time, should she use those situations to her advantage but the disadvantage of others, mainly her son? Also, she is the cause for robbie being publicaly humiliated and accused for using his sister, and she did a lot of things behind robbies back which has been quite deliberate.

in my eyes, devika is robbies biggest culprit and now she is poisoning nandinis mind against kasturi? why? she has created the bitterness she wanted between kasturi and robbie, but why spread this bitterness onto a relationship, between two people with whom she has no ties?

nice topic by the way. My views on this:

First let us give credit where it is due:

1. She has brought her kids singlehandedly without their father's presence/contribution

2. Loving & marrying Purushottam

3. Staying married to Purushottam and having so many kids with them ( i am sure more will turn up as we move along).

4. For being one hell of a strong & shrewd lady.

5. Being an excellent manipulator of situations & people to her advantage.

6. U might even add she has a big hand in robbie's success as a rockstar.

But as a mother, i actually feel she has been a failure.

1.Robbie: Failing to understand the guy's love and being mainly responsible for what he is going through now. Being more concerned about press, money rather than her own son's suffering.

2. Shivani: As a mother, u haven't heard from ur daughter for 5 years and u don't even bother to find out. Using her supposed death to implicate raunak ( who by the way treats u practically as his own mom, too). Now that u know where shivani is & in what condition after the first visit have not bothered much about her.

3. Divya: For not instilling the confidence or love in ur own daughter so that when in trouble u r not the first person she turns to.

4. Ariv: When ur son comes home after finishing his studies, u don't even go and hug him. When he tells u what he intends to do, u mock & insult him.

5.Alaana: Being responsible for alaana turning up the way she has & putting up with nikhil

For me, devika has always put her self interst/whims & fancies ahead of her kids best interests. May be like u said, she does wants the best for her kids, but she sure is going about the wrong way in achieving them and ends up hurting her kids more.
