Recap: Its Kasturi's b'day…. Robbie decides to confess his love for Kasturi today….. Robbie gives her a beautiful gift and Kasturi is also very happy by the turn of events….. Devika starts executing her plans…. He keeps Robbie extremely busy so that he couldn't spend much time with Kasturi but Robbie's thoughts are always directed towards Kasturi….. Anjali and Raunak are very happy so that finally Robbie is gonna propose Kasturi….. Devika plays a cheap trick by sending Kasturi with Alaana to a shop where Anjali and Robbie and planning for Kasturi's surprise… Kasturi is sad as she feels Robbie lied to her…. Devika gets a meeting scheduled for Robbie while Kasturi keeps waiting for him…. She goes home and once again plays a cheap trick by telling her that Robbie has gone with Anjali…. Having tested all her patience….. Kasturi decides not to wait for Robbie at all and goes to meet her parents!!!
Part 16:
Robbie: (enters home in a hurry and looks at his watch): Arre baap re bohut late ho gaya yaar aaj toh… I hope Kasturi naraz na ho…. (enters their room and calls out for her) Kasturiiii…. Kasturiiii… kahan ho yaar… Ok I agree bohut late ho gaya hoon… but I'm really sorry…. Kasturiiii (realizes she's not in the room… so goes out) Kasturiii
Devika: (coming towards Robbie) Kasturi ghar par nahin hai Robbie…
Robbie: (turns to face Devika) Ghar par nahin hain…. Kahan gayi??
Devika: Woh apne ghar gayi hai Robbie….
Robbie: Is waqt??… lekin mom hum toh bahar jaane wale the…. Aapne usse kaha toh tha na ki mujhe der ho jayegi….
Devika: Ofcourse son maine usse kaha tha… magar….
Robbie: (impatiently) Magar kya mom??
Devika: Its ok son…. Jaane do…. Woh aa jayegi thodi der main….
Robbie: Mom aap mujhse kuch chupa rahe ho…. Bataiye mujhe kya baat hai??
Alaana: (she was standing behind Robbie and now she comes forward) Main batati hoon Robbie….
Devika: Alaana… stop it…. Just let it go!!!
Robbie: (almost yells) For God sake mujhe koi bataye ga ki baat kya hai!!!
Alaana: Baat yeh hai Robbie ki jab mom ne Kasturi se kaha kit um kaam main busy ho toh usne tumhara intezaar karne se inkaar kar diya….
Robbie: What?? I think koi misunderstanding hai… main jaa kar Kasturi se baat karta hoon (about to leave)
Alaana: Oh please Robbie us ladki ne tumhara intezaar tak nahin kiya aur tum?? Koi misunderstanding nahin hai…. Kasturi khud gayi hai aur jab Mom ne usse kaha ki tum uska intezaar karoge toh usne sidha mom se kaha ki she doesn't care…. (Robbie is shocked) Agar tumhe meri baat par yakeen nahin hai toh tum mom se pooch lo….
Robbie: (turning to Devika) Mom??
Devika: I'm sorry son… but that's the fact… Kasturi ko tumhari koi fikar nahin hai… agar hoti toh woh is tarah nahin jati….
Alaana: Robbie…. Jab Mom ne kaha ki woh atleast tumhe inform karde toh usne kaha ki woh uski zaroorat nahin samajhti….
Devika: Son I'm sorry lekin mujhe nahin lagta ki Kasturi ab tak is rishte ko apna payi hai…. Tum usse bohut pyar karte ho ge lekin woh aaj bhi tumhe apna nahin manti… mujhe aisa lagta hai ki yeh rishta Kasturi ke liye sirf ek majboori hai and that's it… woh toh aaj bhi…
Robbie: (cutting her in between) enough mom… main bohut thak gaya hoon….
Devika: (acting concerned) I understand son… go and take some rest…..
(Robbie leaves while Devika and Alaana give wicked smile to one another)
(At Chawla residence Kasturi has also worn an artificial smile…. Her family was quite surprised to see her but then she made up and excuse…. She really wanted to cry out hard…. Just when she had hoped that things were turning better they took a 180 degree turn once again…. A dream that seemed reality to her a few hours back was fading out and her hopes were being badly crushed… How desperately she had wanted to spent this evening with Robbie but even today he made a fool of her…. He didn't keep up at his words… The horrible thought that all this while when she was waiting for Robbie he was probably spending a quality time with Anjali was killing her from inside…. whom shall she complain?? What shall she say?? She just felt terrible…. Yet she held herself back and didn't let anyone pick up a hint that something was amiss…. After spending a few hours at Chawla's she leaves to come back to her so called home….
Robbie on the other hand doesn't know whether he should be sad or angry…. He has tried to give the best to Kasturi…. Always have wanted her to be happy…. He didn't mind her going to Chawla's but if she already had a programme fix why didn't she tell him?? She could have made a call or at the least a message…. But no she didn't feel the need to inform him…. Was his mom true and Kasturi indeed hasn't yet accepted him… Was she really trying to distance herself from him… wat was happening?? Why was it happening to him and what shall he do to set everything right?? He was amidst of all these thoughts when he hears a car screeching to a halt at the driveway…. He runs to the window and sees Kasturi stepping down and waits there till she gets inside the house…. And then goes quietly and lies down on the sofa…
Kasturi enters into the living room…. She knows she's unusually late… it's almost midnight…. She knows Robbie is back since she saw his car in the parking area…. But she also feels cheated at the same time…. So after a little bit of hesitance she goes to her room…. As soon as she enters she sees Robbie is lying on the sofa…. He isn't facing her so she thinks he's asleep and she's quite relieved to see that…. She doesn't want to face Robbie…. She slowly without making any noise goes to her wardrobe and starts looking for her night gown but since it was dark she was finding it difficult…. Robbie is well aware of her each move and understands its due to dark that she's finding it difficult to get her clothes and so he switches on the light…. Kasturi looks back alerted and sees Robbie standing near the lamp and looking at her…. she senses something is wrong with him but is too hurt to inquire about it…. At the same time Robbie notices the pain in her eyes… and immediately his thoughts goes back to what Devika had said about Kasturi still not able to accept their relationship…. He felts miserable and couldn't anymore bear to see in her eyes and so turns away…. Kasturi removes her gown and moves quickly from there…. When she comes back she sees Robbie standing near the window…. Without uttering a word she goes towards the bed and takes her pillow and quilt and moves towards the sofa…. Robbie sees this and gets confused…..
Robbie: yeh kya kar rahi ho Kasturi??
Kasturi: (looks at him once but no reply)
Robbie: Maine poocha yeh tum kya kar rahi ho Kasturi?? (Still no answer….. now Robbie is loosing his patience…. His sorrow and misery is taking a new form…. His hurt is turning into his anger…. Robbie Sabarwal's attitude was being fanned by her silence and fury was rising in him….. He goes to her…. holds her arms and forcibly turns her to face him…. She squeals in pain and he loosens his grip on her but doesn't let her go inspite of all her struggles to free herself….)
Kasturi: Mujhe dard ho raha hai…. Haath chodiye mera….
Robbie: Maine tumse ek sawaal poocha hai…. I want an answer dammit!!!
Kasturi: Kaisa jawab??
Robbie: Kaisa jawab?? Maine tumse ek seedha sawal poocha aur tum poochti ho ki kaisa jawab??
Kasturi: Main aapke kisi bhi sawal ka jawab dena jaroori nahin samajhti
Robbie: (loosing all his endurance) Tum samajhti kya ho apne aap ko?? Kya ho tum?? Jab tumhara jee chahega jaisa tum chahogi sab ko waisa chalna hoga… kyun??
Kasturi: (her eyes get moist) Maine aisa kuch nahin kiya hai…. Lekin aap…. Aap ko apne baare main galat fehmiyan zaoor hai…. Aap ko kya lagta hai jab aap jaisa kahenge main har waqt wohi karoongi…. Meri marzi… meri khushi uska kya??
Robbie: Kab maine tumhari khushi…. Tumhari marzi ka khayal nahin rakha?? Kab tumhe kissi cheez ki kami mehsoos hone di?? Bolo??
Kasturi: (still trying to free herself) Dekhiye main bohut thak gayi hoon aur mujhe neend aa rahi hai…. Mujhe sone dijiye….
Robbie: Main bhi wohi keh raha hoon Kasturi…. Ki ab main thak gaya hoon…. (taking a deep breath) Ok lets cut this…. Tumne mujhe bataya kyun nahin ki tum apne ghar ja rahi ho?? Kya tum mujhe ek phone tak nahin kar sakte thi??
Kasturi: Yehi sawaal main bhi aapse kar sakti hoon…. Agar aapko waqt par aana hi nahin tha toh aapne mujhse vaada kyun kiya??
Robbie: (irritatedly puts up his hands) Kasturi main ek kaam main phas gaya tha Dammit!!!
Kasturi: (sarcastically) Kaam?? (smirks) achchi tarah se jaanti hoon apke yeh kaam…..
Robbie: Tum kehna kya chahti ho??… ki main jhooth bol raha hoon??
Kasturi: Main kuch bhi kehna sunna nahin chahti….
Robbie: (tries to hide his pain under the faade of his attitude) Kasturi agar mujhe ghar se bahar jaakar time pass hi karna hota na toh mujhe iske liye bahane bana ne ki zaroorat nahin padti… tum bhool rahi ho ki main Robbie Sabarwal hoon aur main jo bhi karta hoon sabke saamne karta hoon…. Mujhe jhooth bolne ki zaroorat nahin hai…
Kasturi: Issi baat ka toh afsoos hai….
Robbie: kya matlab??
Kasturi: (smirks) matlab?? Matlab hi toh nahin samajh payi main….. (turns around) aapke baton ke peeche chupa sach hi toh nahin dekh payi main….
Robbie: (holds her arm and once again turns her to face him) saaf saaf kaho Kasturi tum kehna kya chahti hoon??
Kasturi: (tears rolling down her cheeks) mere kehne na kehne se kya faraq padta hai….. aap ko jo karna hota hai aap wohi toh karte hain na… aapke liye toh yeh sab kuch ek mazak hai…. Wada kiya woh mazak… wada toda woh mazak…. Mujhe neecha dikhaya woh mazak…. Toh Kabhi Mujh per ehsaan karne chale aaye…
Robbie: (Kasturi's each word was like piercing daggers in his heart) ehsaan?? (fearing the worst he holds her by her shoulders and looks into her eyes) kaisa ehsaan Kasturi??
Kasturi: (smirks) oh itni jaldi bhool gaye…. Koi baat nahin aap toh Robbie Sabarwal hain na…. choti choti baatein kahan se yaad rahengi aapko… saaf saaf sunna chahte hain na toh suniye…. Woh ehsaan jo meri zindagi ka sabse bada mazak banke reh gaya… (Looks straight into his eyes) HUMARI SHAADI!!!!! (Robbie is completely shattered after hearing this leaves her and slowly walks out of the room…. Tears are rolling down on both of their cheeks and as soon as Robbie leaves the realization of what she just said and what does it means dawns upon Kasturi)…. Yeh maine kya keh diya…. Main yeh toh nahin kehna chahti thi…. (Kasturi runs towards the door and down the stairs but to no avail…. Robbie has left somewhere in his car… Kasturi just stands there looking at his car's blurring image that vanishes in the dark of the night…. Silent tears keep rolling down her cheeks and while she keeps staring into nothing…. Standing there till what seems like eternity she finally turns around and goes back to her room…. )
(On the other hand Robbie goes to a lonely spot and cries his heart out…. He feels miserable inside…. Shattered…. Kasturi on the one hand is equally hurt and tensed…. In her room she's pacing up and down for Robbie to come back…. She decides as soon as he's back she'll apologize for what she had said….)
Robbie: (crying) kyun Kasturi Kyun?? Aaj tumne humare rishte par sawal utha kar har umeed tod di Kasturi…. Main sochta tha ki mera pyar humare rishte ke liye kafi hai magar tumne sabit kar diya ki ek tarfa pyar sirf takleef de sakta hai…. Zindagi main apne aap ko itna haara hua aur akela mehsoos kabhi nahin kiya tha…. (He puts his hand in his pocket and looks at the ring that he got for her and closes his eyes…) kya socha tha aur kya ho gaya…..
(Song in the back ground)

(Robbie enters the room… it was absolute dark just a little bit of light coming through the window… He sees her sleeping on the chair…. Was about to wake her up but stops himself from touching her and takes the quilt from the bed and covers her with it and leaves)
It's the next day morning…. Kasturi slowly opens her eyes and notices the quilt put over her…. Its not like an usual morning at all… Today the day light brought no joy to her…. The hang over of last nights events was still lingering on her head…. The day was as gloomy as her own state… She looked around the room but Robbie was not there…. She got ready and went downstairs and kept looking for Robbie…. But no signs of him…. Now she was beginning to worry… Did he come back at all last night?? When she couldn't hold it anymore…. She finally asked Nandini….
Kasturi: Aunty woh Robbie kahan hai?? (Nandini was about to answer when Devika cuts her)
Devika: Woh toh Mumbai gaya hai….
Kasturi: (shocked) Mumbai?? (to herself) aur mujhe batana zaroori bhi nahin samjha… (tears wells up in her eyes)
Devika: Haan aaj uski early morning flight thi… so he left….
Nandini: Kyun Kasturi kya Robbie ne tumhe nahin bataya??
Kasturi: (trying to hide the pain) Ji aunty bataya tha main hi bhool gayi…. (Tries to maintain her demeanor…. It is then when she notices Anjali missing too….) Kya Anjali bhi gayi hai….
Nandini: (as a matter of fact like) Haan beta….
Kasturi: Excuse me…. (walks straight to her room…. Devika and Alaana exchange meaningful looks and smirks…. Nandini gets worried for Kasturi…. Kasturi enters her room and justs throws herself on bed and cries)

Kahin Jeet Mein Bhi Shamil Palpal Haar Hain (Robbie is among few men in a meeting where they wishes him good luck smiling all the way leaves…. Robbie also reciprocates their smile but as soon as they leave the smile fades)

(Four days have passed neither Kasturi nor Robbie had called each other…. Each expecting the other to make the first move….. Raunak has sensed some change in Kasturi and tries to ask her but each time he tried Devika or Alaana came in between before Kasturi could say anything to him….)
Kasturi was walking past the corridor and just when she was crossing Alaana's room… she hears Nikhil's voice and stops in the track)
Nikhil: (He's on phone) Hey jaan… Main tumhe kitna miss kar raha hoon… aur tum ho ki tumhe apne pati se hi fursat nahin milti…
(Kasturi is dumbfounded at this… just then Alaana comes there…)
Alaana: Kasturi… hello tum mere kamre ke bahar kya kar rahi ho??
Kasturi: Nahin… main toh neeche ja rahi thi… ki maine Nikhil sir ki baat sunni… woh kissi se keh rahe the ki…
Alaana: (gets hyper holds her hand and takes her to the side) How dare you?? Tum mere kamre ke bahar khadi ho kar mere pati ki baatein sun rahi thi… Tum middle class ke log hote hi aise ho… Tum samajhti kya ho apne aapko?? Ab humare hi ghar par hum par har waqt koi nazar rakhega…. How disgusting!!!
Kasturi: Aap mujhe galat samajh rahi hain…
Alaana: Oh please shut up…
Nandini: (comes to Kasturi's rescue) ALAANA… yeh kya tarika hua Kasturi se baat karne ka??
Alaana: Mujhe samjhane se toh achcha yeh hoga ki aap apni ladli Kasturi ko samjhaiye….
Nandini: Alaana Kasturi tumhari bhabhi hai…
Alaana: Bhabhi my foot!!! Pata nahin Robbie ko social work karne ki aadat kahan se lag gayi… jo raste chalte kissi ladki ko sahara dene ke liye shaadi kar ke le aaya…
(Kasturi is very hurt and is crying…)
Nandini: ALAANA!!! Bohut ho gaya.. apne kamre main jao…..
Devika: yeh kya ho raha hai yahan?? Alaana kyun itna shor macha ke rakha hai??
Alaana: Mom aapki yeh bahu…. Aapko pata hai mere kamre ke bahar khade ho kar mere pati ki baatein sun rahi thi….
Devika: Oh calm down Alaana…. In middle class chawal wale logon se tum kya expect karogi?? Manners to kabhi inhone sikhe nahin honge… (turning to Kasturi) Kyun Kasturi kya yehi hain tumhare sanskars….
Nandini: Bhabhi aap galat samjh rahi hain!!!!
Devika: Please Nandini aap chup rahiye…. Yeh mere parivar ka mamla hai… let me take care of this!!! Yun har jagah interfere karne ki zaroorat nahin hai….
Nandini: (feels insulted) sorry Bhabhi (gives a compassionate look to Kasturi and leaves)
Kasturi: (amidst tears) Mom….
Devika: Mujhe tumhari koi bhi bakwaas sunne ka shauq nahin hai Kasturi…. Don't give me explanations…. Tum toh bohut middle class ke sansakaron ki baatein karti ho na…. toh kya yehi sikhaya jaata hai tumhare ghar main ki doosaron ki baatein chuo kar suno…. Kitni besharam ho tum Kasturi agar tumhari jagah koi aur ladki hoti toh yeh jaanne ke baad ke uska pati usse pyar nahin karta kab ka ghar chod kar ja chuki hoti…. Lekin tum ho ki mere bete ki zindagi par grahan banker chayi hui ho….. tum jaisi ladkiyan….
Kasturi: (crying bitterly cuts Devika in between) bas kijiye mom…. Bas kijiye…. Please…. (runs to her room)
Alaana: Wow Mom…. You are brilliant!!!
Devika: Arre yeh toh kuch bhi nahin hai Alaana…. abhi tak toh maine sirf Kasturi ko toda hai… lekin ab jo chaal maine chali hai usse Kasturi bikhar jayegi…. Robbie ki zindagi se hamesha hamesha ke liye door ho jayegi…. Check and Mate!!!
RK's room…. Kasturi removes her suitcase and keeps it on the bed…. Then she moves towards the cupboard…. Nandini Enters….
Nandini: Yeh tum kya kar rahi ho Kasturi??
Kasturi: Aunty maine faisla kar liya hai ki ab main is ghar main ek pal bhi aur nahin rukongi….
Nandini: Pagal ho gayi ho Kasturi?? Is tarah apna ghar chod kar koi jaata hai?? Devika bhabhi ko toh tum jaanti ho…. Unki baton ko dil se mat lagao beta…
Kasturi: Nahin aunty…. Mere yahan rehne se Mom kabhi khush nahin hongi…. Sabki khushi ke liya yehi achcha hai ki main ghar chod kar chali jaaon….
Nandini: Tum bewakoofi kar rahi ho Kasturi…. Gusse main aakar liye gaye faisle aksar galat sabit hote hain……
Kasturi: Please Aunty mujhe mat rokiye…. Ab main nahin rukoongi…. Robbie ke aane ke baad hi in baton ka faisla hoga!!!
(Nandini feels helpless and leaves the room and goes downstairs…. Raunak enters the house and Nandini quickly goes towards him)
Raunak: (concerned) Kya baat hai maa…. Aapne mujhe itni jaldi main kyun bulaya… sab theek toh hain na??
Nandini: Nahin beta kuch theek nahin hai…. Kasturi ghar chod kar ja rahi hai!!!
Raunak: (shocked) What?? Lekin kyun Maa?? Akhir baat kya hui??
Nandini tells Raunak the entire scene….
Raunak: Jiska darr tha wohi hua…. Devika Aunty kabhi Robbie aur Kasturi ko khush rehne nahin dengi….
Nandini: Beta humme kissi bhi tarha Kasturi ko rokna hoga…. Purushottam bhaisahb aur tumahre papa bhi kal laut rahe hain…. Tab tak is issue ko humme hi handle karna hoga….Tum jao aur Kasturi ko roko…. (Almost pushes him) jao!!!
Raunak: Ji Maa (goes to RK's room and knocks at the door) Kasturi….. Kasturi….. (when hears no response he hesitantly opens the door and goes in….. Kasturi is sitting on the edge of the bed and is holding a paper in her hand…. She's sitting motionless in a state of visible shock….. Raunak rushes to Kasturi's side) Kasturi kya hua?? Tum aise kyun bethi ho?? (no response from Kasturi) Dekho Kasturi tum fikar mat karo…. (Anjali senses that something is really wrong with him…. So she coaxes him to tell her the entire matter…. Which he does…. Anjali feels sorry for Robbie)

(Robbie and Anjali are in their friendly embrace when Kasturi who was about to enter the room stops in her tracks….. Tears starts flowing down her cheeks once again…. She quickly turns back and leaves without letting them know of her presence..... She takes a flight back to Delhi and goes straight at Chawla house…. She rings the bell…. Its already late in the night)
Kaushalya: Kasturi Puttar?? Tu is waqt yahan?? (Kasturi doesn't say anything…. Kaushalya gets worried looking at her daughter looking so pale and lost…. She brings her in…. Kasturi walks mechanically with her mother…. She just keeps on looking into nothing…. Since its already late and everyone has retired for the day she takes Kasturi to her room and makes her drink some water…. Kasturi doesn't utter a single word all through…. Now Kaushalya grows more anxious than ever) puttar kuch toh bol?? Kya hua hai??
Kasturi: (her voice and face devoid of every possible emotion) Maa main bohut thak gayi hoon…. Mujhe neend aa rahi hai….
(Kaushalya makes Kasturi comfortable on the bed…. Thinking possibly sleep will be the best option for her daughter at the moment and she puts the quilt over Kasturi…. Kasturi shuts her eyes but Kaushalya keep looking at her full of concern and sits beside her till she is sure that Kasturi is fast asleep…. Kaushalya leaves and Kasturi opens her eyes…. Though physically and emotionally drained sleep was the last thing on her mind…. All she could think of was the divorce papers…. She remembers Robbie – Anjali hugging in the hotel and think she knows why he wants a divorce from her and now there are no doubts on that matter…. Kasturi feels numb!!! Past memories of her time with Robbie their honeymoon, their small tiffs, their marriage, the time when Robbie waaas trying to put the clasp of the necklace around her neck flooded back at her…. Tears strating streaming down her face…. Lost in Robbie's memories she drifts into a restless slumber….)

Nandini is pacing up and down the sitting room waiting for Raunak…. Raunak enters after a few minutes……
Nandini: Beta Mumbai se kuch khabar aayi??
Raunak: Nahin maa….. Kasturi ki koi khabar nahin hai…. Robbie bhi wahan se nikal chukka hai…. Uska phone kab se try kar raha hoon magar unreachable aa raha hai (places a hand on his forehead)
Nandini: Hey bhagwan…. Ab kya hoga….. wahan bhaisahab aur Dushyant bas ghar pohaunchne hi wale hai…. Kya jawab doongi main unhe??
Raunak: sab theek ho jayega maa…. (places a hand on her shoulder) aap fikar mat karo!!!
(Dushyant and Puru enter the SS mansion….)
Puru: (starts calling) Kasturi…… Robbieeeee……. (Just then his eyes fell on Raunak and Nandini and the two men walk upto them…. Raunak touches their feet and seek blessings) Jeete Raho beta…. (looks around) Robbie aur Kasturi kahan hai?? Aur kya ho raha hai yahan??
Nandini: Kuch mat poocheye bhaisahab….. Robbie Mumbai e nikala hua hai…. Kissi bhi waqt ghar aata hi hoga aur Kasturi ka kahin pata nahin chal raha hai…..
Dushyant: (concerned) Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho Nandini….. Kasturi kahan hai??
Raunak: papa kal divorce papers milne ke baad woh Robbie se milne Mumbai gayi thi magar uske baad uska koi pata nahin chal paa raha hai….

Nandini: Bhabhi ko kissi urgent meeting ke liye office jana tha…. Toh woh subha hi chali gayi…..
Just then they are interrupted by someone….. "Hey Dad"…. They look behind….

Puru: (slaps her hard) enough!!!! Mind your tongue Alaana!!! Kasturi bhi ab is ghar ka hissa hai…. Tumhari bhabhi hai!!! Ab tum mujhe sab kuch agar nahin bataogi toh tumhe aur tumhare us nakare pati ko issi waqt ghar chodna padega!!!
Alaana: (shocked) Dad!!! Aap us Kasturi ke liye mujhe ghar chodne ke liye keh rahe hain!!! Mujhe!!!
Puru: Mere liye tum aur Robbie ek hi jaise ho….. lekin agar meri beti mere bete ki khushiyon ke beech aayega toh main usse kabhi maaf nahin karoonga!!! Mujhe sach sach batao ki kya kiya Devika ne??
Alaana: (now scared…. Wipes her forehead) Dad woh mom ne…. Kasturi ke mann main pehle Robbie ke liye shaq paida kiya…. usse yeh ehsaas dilaya ki Robbie usse dhokha de raha hai aur woh aur Anjali….. (Alaana fumbles…..Raunak is shocked on hearing Anjali's name…. he doesn't know why but he feels bad… he doesn't like the idea of Anjali being used…. He looks at Alaana in disgust)
Puru: kya….. apne gande irado ko poora karne ke liye Devika itna gir sakti hai ki teen zindagiyon ko daav pe laga de… cheee….. aur tum Alaana… tumne bhi Devika ka saath diya!!!
A voice interrupts them… "Alaana se nahin mujhse baat kijiye Purushottam"…. Everyone turns to find Devika standing by the door…..

Robbie: (cutting him) Raunak…. Kya baat hai?? Sab itne tensed kyun hain?? Aur Dad Kasturi ko kahan se laane ki baat kar rahe the aap??

Puru: Maine kaha papers dikhao Robbie ko…. (Raunak hands Robbie a few legal papers…. Robbie is confused but takes the papers and starts reading them…. He then looks up in disbelief….)

Devika: (now scared) Beta chodo un papers ko…. Kasturi chali gayi hai….
Puru: Chali gayi ya uski bezatti karke usse is ghar se jane ke liye mazboor kiya gaya!!!
Robbie: (Robbie is now getting a hold on the situation) Koi mujhe batayega ki ho kya raha hai yahan?? Kasturi ghar chod kar kyun gayi?? Aap bataiye mom…. Aakhi kisne Kasturi ko itna bada kadam uthane ke liye mazboor kiya??
Puru: Yeh kya bataye gi Robbie… main batata hoon….. (Puru tells Robbie the entire story…. Robbie's reactions change from disbelief to shock to anger to pain and anguish!!!)
Robbie: (Looks at Devika with tears in his eyes) Mom aap aisa bhi kar sakti hain?? Kyun kiya aapne aisa mom…. Kyun?? (Devika tries to explain but Robbie cuts her off) Mom aapne aaj tak jo kaha jaisa kaha maine mana…. Kyunki mujhe lagta tha ki meri mom mujh se bohut pyar karti hain…. Sirf meri khushi chahti hain…. Meri mom mujhe dhoka bhi de sakti hai yeh toh maine kabhi socha hi nahin tha…. Mom….(He's choked….. he just controls his emotions…. There is a perfect silence in the room…. Robbie turns away from Devika who by now have tears in her eyes…. And starts walking towards the door…)

Robbie: (Getting hold over himself) Kasturi ko laane!!! (turns towards his mom) Ghabraiye mat Mom main aur Kasturi ab is ghar main nahin rahenge….(saying this he leaves the house not letting anyone say a word…. Devika is terrified…. Everyone is stunned)
(Raunak shakes his head in disappointment when his eyes falls on Anjali…. She's standing by the corner still but with her eyes closed and by leaning on a nearby pillar….. She's hurt and too stunned to react… Raunak rushes at her side….)
Raunak: Anjali…. Tum theek toh ho na…. (Anjali gives Raunak a painful look which lets Raunak's heart to wince in equal amount of misery….) Sab theek ko jayega Anjali….
Anjali: Raunak…. Maine kabhi nahin chaha ki Robbie aur Kasturi ke beech koi bhi aaye… lekin kabhi nahin socha tha ki jaane anjaane main hi un dono ke beech ki problems ki wajah…. (tears starts trickling down her cheeks….)

He is too pained to give any explainations to anyone….. he had only expected Kasturi would give him one chance but she kept on refusing to listen to him….. this leads to his outbreak….. He feels no one neither his mom nor could his love understand him…. He feels dejected!!! Robbie walks out of the Chawla house without answering anyone's question….. Kasturi is left crying in her room….
Robbie speds away in his car to some place but all the while Kasturi words when she said nothing left between them and his mom's betrayal keeps coming back to him and he looses the his grip on the steering wheel and is dashed against a tree…. Robbie fells out of the car in the middle of the road lying unconscious in a pool of blood!!!)

Recap: Its Kasturi's b'day…. Robbie decides to confess his love for Kasturi today….. Robbie gives her a beautiful gift and Kasturi is also very happy by the turn of events….. Devika starts executing her plans…. He keeps Robbie extremely busy so that he couldn't spend much time with Kasturi but Robbie's thoughts are always directed towards Kasturi….. Anjali and Raunak are very happy so that finally Robbie is gonna propose Kasturi….. Devika plays a cheap trick by sending Kasturi with Alaana to a shop where Anjali and Robbie and planning for Kasturi's surprise… Kasturi is sad as she feels Robbie lied to her…. Devika gets a meeting scheduled for Robbie while Kasturi keeps waiting for him…. She goes home and once again plays a cheap trick by telling her that Robbie has gone with Anjali…. Having tested all her patience….. Kasturi decides not to wait for Robbie at all and goes to meet her parents!!!
Part 16:
Robbie: (enters home in a hurry and looks at his watch): Arre baap re bohut late ho gaya yaar aaj toh… I hope Kasturi naraz na ho…. (enters their room and calls out for her) Kasturiiii…. Kasturiiii… kahan ho yaar… Ok I agree bohut late ho gaya hoon… but I'm really sorry…. Kasturiiii (realizes she's not in the room… so goes out) Kasturiii
Devika: (coming towards Robbie) Kasturi ghar par nahin hai Robbie…
Robbie: (turns to face Devika) Ghar par nahin hain…. Kahan gayi??
Devika: Woh apne ghar gayi hai Robbie….
Robbie: Is waqt??… lekin mom hum toh bahar jaane wale the…. Aapne usse kaha toh tha na ki mujhe der ho jayegi….
Devika: Ofcourse son maine usse kaha tha… magar….
Robbie: (impatiently) Magar kya mom??
Devika: Its ok son…. Jaane do…. Woh aa jayegi thodi der main….
Robbie: Mom aap mujhse kuch chupa rahe ho…. Bataiye mujhe kya baat hai??
Alaana: (she was standing behind Robbie and now she comes forward) Main batati hoon Robbie….
Devika: Alaana… stop it…. Just let it go!!!
Robbie: (almost yells) For God sake mujhe koi bataye ga ki baat kya hai!!!
Alaana: Baat yeh hai Robbie ki jab mom ne Kasturi se kaha kit um kaam main busy ho toh usne tumhara intezaar karne se inkaar kar diya….
Robbie: What?? I think koi misunderstanding hai… main jaa kar Kasturi se baat karta hoon (about to leave)
Alaana: Oh please Robbie us ladki ne tumhara intezaar tak nahin kiya aur tum?? Koi misunderstanding nahin hai…. Kasturi khud gayi hai aur jab Mom ne usse kaha ki tum uska intezaar karoge toh usne sidha mom se kaha ki she doesn't care…. (Robbie is shocked) Agar tumhe meri baat par yakeen nahin hai toh tum mom se pooch lo….
Robbie: (turning to Devika) Mom??
Devika: I'm sorry son… but that's the fact… Kasturi ko tumhari koi fikar nahin hai… agar hoti toh woh is tarah nahin jati….
Alaana: Robbie…. Jab Mom ne kaha ki woh atleast tumhe inform karde toh usne kaha ki woh uski zaroorat nahin samajhti….
Devika: Son I'm sorry lekin mujhe nahin lagta ki Kasturi ab tak is rishte ko apna payi hai…. Tum usse bohut pyar karte ho ge lekin woh aaj bhi tumhe apna nahin manti… mujhe aisa lagta hai ki yeh rishta Kasturi ke liye sirf ek majboori hai and that's it… woh toh aaj bhi…
Robbie: (cutting her in between) enough mom… main bohut thak gaya hoon….
Devika: (acting concerned) I understand son… go and take some rest…..
(Robbie leaves while Devika and Alaana give wicked smile to one another)
(At Chawla residence Kasturi has also worn an artificial smile…. Her family was quite surprised to see her but then she made up and excuse…. She really wanted to cry out hard…. Just when she had hoped that things were turning better they took a 180 degree turn once again…. A dream that seemed reality to her a few hours back was fading out and her hopes were being badly crushed… How desperately she had wanted to spent this evening with Robbie but even today he made a fool of her…. He didn't keep up at his words… The horrible thought that all this while when she was waiting for Robbie he was probably spending a quality time with Anjali was killing her from inside…. whom shall she complain?? What shall she say?? She just felt terrible…. Yet she held herself back and didn't let anyone pick up a hint that something was amiss…. After spending a few hours at Chawla's she leaves to come back to her so called home….
Robbie on the other hand doesn't know whether he should be sad or angry…. He has tried to give the best to Kasturi…. Always have wanted her to be happy…. He didn't mind her going to Chawla's but if she already had a programme fix why didn't she tell him?? She could have made a call or at the least a message…. But no she didn't feel the need to inform him…. Was his mom true and Kasturi indeed hasn't yet accepted him… Was she really trying to distance herself from him… wat was happening?? Why was it happening to him and what shall he do to set everything right?? He was amidst of all these thoughts when he hears a car screeching to a halt at the driveway…. He runs to the window and sees Kasturi stepping down and waits there till she gets inside the house…. And then goes quietly and lies down on the sofa…
Kasturi enters into the living room…. She knows she's unusually late… it's almost midnight…. She knows Robbie is back since she saw his car in the parking area…. But she also feels cheated at the same time…. So after a little bit of hesitance she goes to her room…. As soon as she enters she sees Robbie is lying on the sofa…. He isn't facing her so she thinks he's asleep and she's quite relieved to see that…. She doesn't want to face Robbie…. She slowly without making any noise goes to her wardrobe and starts looking for her night gown but since it was dark she was finding it difficult…. Robbie is well aware of her each move and understands its due to dark that she's finding it difficult to get her clothes and so he switches on the light…. Kasturi looks back alerted and sees Robbie standing near the lamp and looking at her…. she senses something is wrong with him but is too hurt to inquire about it…. At the same time Robbie notices the pain in her eyes… and immediately his thoughts goes back to what Devika had said about Kasturi still not able to accept their relationship…. He felts miserable and couldn't anymore bear to see in her eyes and so turns away…. Kasturi removes her gown and moves quickly from there…. When she comes back she sees Robbie standing near the window…. Without uttering a word she goes towards the bed and takes her pillow and quilt and moves towards the sofa…. Robbie sees this and gets confused…..
Robbie: yeh kya kar rahi ho Kasturi??
Kasturi: (looks at him once but no reply)
Robbie: Maine poocha yeh tum kya kar rahi ho Kasturi?? (Still no answer….. now Robbie is loosing his patience…. His sorrow and misery is taking a new form…. His hurt is turning into his anger…. Robbie Sabarwal's attitude was being fanned by her silence and fury was rising in him….. He goes to her…. holds her arms and forcibly turns her to face him…. She squeals in pain and he loosens his grip on her but doesn't let her go inspite of all her struggles to free herself….)
Kasturi: Mujhe dard ho raha hai…. Haath chodiye mera….
Robbie: Maine tumse ek sawaal poocha hai…. I want an answer dammit!!!
Kasturi: Kaisa jawab??
Robbie: Kaisa jawab?? Maine tumse ek seedha sawal poocha aur tum poochti ho ki kaisa jawab??
Kasturi: Main aapke kisi bhi sawal ka jawab dena jaroori nahin samajhti
Robbie: (loosing all his endurance) Tum samajhti kya ho apne aap ko?? Kya ho tum?? Jab tumhara jee chahega jaisa tum chahogi sab ko waisa chalna hoga… kyun??
Kasturi: (her eyes get moist) Maine aisa kuch nahin kiya hai…. Lekin aap…. Aap ko apne baare main galat fehmiyan zaoor hai…. Aap ko kya lagta hai jab aap jaisa kahenge main har waqt wohi karoongi…. Meri marzi… meri khushi uska kya??
Robbie: Kab maine tumhari khushi…. Tumhari marzi ka khayal nahin rakha?? Kab tumhe kissi cheez ki kami mehsoos hone di?? Bolo??
Kasturi: (still trying to free herself) Dekhiye main bohut thak gayi hoon aur mujhe neend aa rahi hai…. Mujhe sone dijiye….
Robbie: Main bhi wohi keh raha hoon Kasturi…. Ki ab main thak gaya hoon…. (taking a deep breath) Ok lets cut this…. Tumne mujhe bataya kyun nahin ki tum apne ghar ja rahi ho?? Kya tum mujhe ek phone tak nahin kar sakte thi??
Kasturi: Yehi sawaal main bhi aapse kar sakti hoon…. Agar aapko waqt par aana hi nahin tha toh aapne mujhse vaada kyun kiya??
Robbie: (irritatedly puts up his hands) Kasturi main ek kaam main phas gaya tha Dammit!!!
Kasturi: (sarcastically) Kaam?? (smirks) achchi tarah se jaanti hoon apke yeh kaam…..
Robbie: Tum kehna kya chahti ho??… ki main jhooth bol raha hoon??
Kasturi: Main kuch bhi kehna sunna nahin chahti….
Robbie: (tries to hide his pain under the faade of his attitude) Kasturi agar mujhe ghar se bahar jaakar time pass hi karna hota na toh mujhe iske liye bahane bana ne ki zaroorat nahin padti… tum bhool rahi ho ki main Robbie Sabarwal hoon aur main jo bhi karta hoon sabke saamne karta hoon…. Mujhe jhooth bolne ki zaroorat nahin hai…
Kasturi: Issi baat ka toh afsoos hai….
Robbie: kya matlab??
Kasturi: (smirks) matlab?? Matlab hi toh nahin samajh payi main….. (turns around) aapke baton ke peeche chupa sach hi toh nahin dekh payi main….
Robbie: (holds her arm and once again turns her to face him) saaf saaf kaho Kasturi tum kehna kya chahti hoon??
Kasturi: (tears rolling down her cheeks) mere kehne na kehne se kya faraq padta hai….. aap ko jo karna hota hai aap wohi toh karte hain na… aapke liye toh yeh sab kuch ek mazak hai…. Wada kiya woh mazak… wada toda woh mazak…. Mujhe neecha dikhaya woh mazak…. Toh Kabhi Mujh per ehsaan karne chale aaye…
Robbie: (Kasturi's each word was like piercing daggers in his heart) ehsaan?? (fearing the worst he holds her by her shoulders and looks into her eyes) kaisa ehsaan Kasturi??
Kasturi: (smirks) oh itni jaldi bhool gaye…. Koi baat nahin aap toh Robbie Sabarwal hain na…. choti choti baatein kahan se yaad rahengi aapko… saaf saaf sunna chahte hain na toh suniye…. Woh ehsaan jo meri zindagi ka sabse bada mazak banke reh gaya… (Looks straight into his eyes) HUMARI SHAADI!!!!! (Robbie is completely shattered after hearing this leaves her and slowly walks out of the room…. Tears are rolling down on both of their cheeks and as soon as Robbie leaves the realization of what she just said and what does it means dawns upon Kasturi)…. Yeh maine kya keh diya…. Main yeh toh nahin kehna chahti thi…. (Kasturi runs towards the door and down the stairs but to no avail…. Robbie has left somewhere in his car… Kasturi just stands there looking at his car's blurring image that vanishes in the dark of the night…. Silent tears keep rolling down her cheeks and while she keeps staring into nothing…. Standing there till what seems like eternity she finally turns around and goes back to her room…. )
(On the other hand Robbie goes to a lonely spot and cries his heart out…. He feels miserable inside…. Shattered…. Kasturi on the one hand is equally hurt and tensed…. In her room she's pacing up and down for Robbie to come back…. She decides as soon as he's back she'll apologize for what she had said….)
Robbie: (crying) kyun Kasturi Kyun?? Aaj tumne humare rishte par sawal utha kar har umeed tod di Kasturi…. Main sochta tha ki mera pyar humare rishte ke liye kafi hai magar tumne sabit kar diya ki ek tarfa pyar sirf takleef de sakta hai…. Zindagi main apne aap ko itna haara hua aur akela mehsoos kabhi nahin kiya tha…. (He puts his hand in his pocket and looks at the ring that he got for her and closes his eyes…) kya socha tha aur kya ho gaya…..

The hang over of last nights events was still lingering on her head…. The day was as gloomy as her own state… She looked around the room but Robbie was not there…. She got ready and went downstairs and kept looking for Robbie…. But no signs of him…. Now she was beginning to worry… Did he come back at all last night?? When she couldn't hold it anymore…. She finally asked Nandini….
Kasturi: Aunty woh Robbie kahan hai?? (Nandini was about to answer when Devika cuts her)
Devika: Woh toh Mumbai gaya hai….
Kasturi: (shocked) Mumbai?? (to herself) aur mujhe batana zaroori bhi nahin samjha… (tears wells up in her eyes)
Devika: Haan aaj uski early morning flight thi… so he left….
Nandini: Kyun Kasturi kya Robbie ne tumhe nahin bataya??
Kasturi: (trying to hide the pain) Ji aunty bataya tha main hi bhool gayi…. (Tries to maintain her demeanor…. It is then when she notices Anjali missing too….) Kya Anjali bhi gayi hai….
Nandini: (as a matter of fact like) Haan beta….
Kasturi: Excuse me…. (walks straight to her room…. Devika and Alaana exchange meaningful looks and smirks…. Nandini gets worried for Kasturi…. Kasturi enters her room and justs throws herself on bed and cries)

Nikhil: (He's on phone) Hey jaan… Main tumhe kitna miss kar raha hoon… aur tum ho ki tumhe apne pati se hi fursat nahin milti…
(Kasturi is dumbfounded at this… just then Alaana comes there…)
Alaana: Kasturi… hello tum mere kamre ke bahar kya kar rahi ho??
Kasturi: Nahin… main toh neeche ja rahi thi… ki maine Nikhil sir ki baat sunni… woh kissi se keh rahe the ki…
Alaana: (gets hyper holds her hand and takes her to the side) How dare you?? Tum mere kamre ke bahar khadi ho kar mere pati ki baatein sun rahi thi… Tum middle class ke log hote hi aise ho… Tum samajhti kya ho apne aapko?? Ab humare hi ghar par hum par har waqt koi nazar rakhega…. How disgusting!!!
Kasturi: Aap mujhe galat samajh rahi hain…
Alaana: Oh please shut up…
Nandini: (comes to Kasturi's rescue) ALAANA… yeh kya tarika hua Kasturi se baat karne ka??
Alaana: Mujhe samjhane se toh achcha yeh hoga ki aap apni ladli Kasturi ko samjhaiye….
Nandini: Alaana Kasturi tumhari bhabhi hai…
Alaana: Bhabhi my foot!!! Pata nahin Robbie ko social work karne ki aadat kahan se lag gayi… jo raste chalte kissi ladki ko sahara dene ke liye shaadi kar ke le aaya…

Devika: Please Nandini aap chup rahiye…. Yeh mere parivar ka mamla hai… let me take care of this!!! Yun har jagah interfere karne ki zaroorat nahin hai….
Nandini: (feels insulted) sorry Bhabhi (gives a compassionate look to Kasturi and leaves)
Kasturi: (amidst tears) Mom….
Devika: Mujhe tumhari koi bhi bakwaas sunne ka shauq nahin hai Kasturi…. Don't give me explanations…. Tum toh bohut middle class ke sansakaron ki baatein karti ho na…. toh kya yehi sikhaya jaata hai tumhare ghar main ki doosaron ki baatein chuo kar suno…. Kitni besharam ho tum Kasturi agar tumhari jagah koi aur ladki hoti toh yeh jaanne ke baad ke uska pati usse pyar nahin karta kab ka ghar chod kar ja chuki hoti…. Lekin tum ho ki mere bete ki zindagi par grahan banker chayi hui ho….. tum jaisi ladkiyan….
Kasturi: (crying bitterly cuts Devika in between) bas kijiye mom…. Bas kijiye…. Please…. (runs to her room)
Alaana: Wow Mom…. You are brilliant!!!
Devika: Arre yeh toh kuch bhi nahin hai Alaana…. abhi tak toh maine sirf Kasturi ko toda hai… lekin ab jo chaal maine chali hai usse Kasturi bikhar jayegi…. Robbie ki zindagi se hamesha hamesha ke liye door ho jayegi…. Check and Mate!!!
RK's room…. Kasturi removes her suitcase and keeps it on the bed…. Then she moves towards the cupboard…. Nandini Enters….
Nandini: Yeh tum kya kar rahi ho Kasturi??
Kasturi: Aunty maine faisla kar liya hai ki ab main is ghar main ek pal bhi aur nahin rukongi….
Nandini: Pagal ho gayi ho Kasturi?? Is tarah apna ghar chod kar koi jaata hai?? Devika bhabhi ko toh tum jaanti ho…. Unki baton ko dil se mat lagao beta…
Kasturi: Nahin aunty…. Mere yahan rehne se Mom kabhi khush nahin hongi…. Sabki khushi ke liya yehi achcha hai ki main ghar chod kar chali jaaon….
Nandini: Tum bewakoofi kar rahi ho Kasturi…. Gusse main aakar liye gaye faisle aksar galat sabit hote hain……
Kasturi: Please Aunty mujhe mat rokiye…. Ab main nahin rukoongi…. Robbie ke aane ke baad hi in baton ka faisla hoga!!!
(Nandini feels helpless and leaves the room and goes downstairs…. Raunak enters the house and Nandini quickly goes towards him)
Raunak: (concerned) Kya baat hai maa…. Aapne mujhe itni jaldi main kyun bulaya… sab theek toh hain na??
Nandini: Nahin beta kuch theek nahin hai…. Kasturi ghar chod kar ja rahi hai!!!
Raunak: (shocked) What?? Lekin kyun Maa?? Akhir baat kya hui??
Nandini tells Raunak the entire scene….
Raunak: Jiska darr tha wohi hua…. Devika Aunty kabhi Robbie aur Kasturi ko khush rehne nahin dengi….
Nandini: Beta humme kissi bhi tarha Kasturi ko rokna hoga…. Purushottam bhaisahb aur tumahre papa bhi kal laut rahe hain…. Tab tak is issue ko humme hi handle karna hoga….Tum jao aur Kasturi ko roko…. (Almost pushes him) jao!!!

Kasturi is sitting on the edge of the bed and is holding a paper in her hand…. She's sitting motionless in a state of visible shock….. Raunak rushes to Kasturi's side) Kasturi kya hua?? Tum aise kyun bethi ho?? (no response from Kasturi) Dekho Kasturi tum fikar mat karo…. Main jaanta hoon jo Alaana aur Devika Aunty ne kiya woh theek nahin tha lekin please Kasturi Robbie ko aa jane do…. Fir koi faisla lena….
Kasturi: (drained off every emotion) faisla?? Faisla toh aapke dost pehle hi le chuke hain Raunak…. (forwards the papers in her hand for him to see….. Raunak anxiously takes the papers from her hand and starts reading it…. )
Raunak: (too shocked to react) Divorce???
Kasturi: Haan…. Robbie mujhe divorce dena chahte hain!!!
Raunak: (Knowing all about Robbie's feelings for Kasturi just can't believe what he is seeing) nahin Kasturi…. Aisa nahin hai…. Yeh nahin ho sakta…. zaroor koi galat fehmi hai!!!
Kasturi: (looses all her self control) Galatfehmi?? Yeh divorce papers apke haath main hain aur aapko galatfehmi lag rahi hai…. Agar aapne in papers ko dhyan se nahin dekha toh ab dekhiye Robbie ke signatures bhi hain in par…. Ab bhi aap yehi kahenge ki mujhe koi galatfehmi ho rahi hai….
Raunak: Haan Kasturi main ab bhi yehi kahoonga ki Robbie kabhi tumhe divorce den eke baare main soch hi nahin sakta….. (trying to convince her) Kasturi Robbie tumse bohut pyar karta hai Kasturi….

Kasturi: (pleadingly) please….
Raunak: (helplessly) theek hai…. Lekin ek baat zaroor kahoonga Kasturi ki koi bhi faisla jald baaji main mat lena….
(Raunak goes downstairs.....)

Devika: Alaana…. agar main Robbie se directly kehti toh woh aisa kabhi nahin karta…. Uss din jab usse Kasturi ke saath bahar jaane ki jaldi thi tab ussne khud concert ke contract papers ke saath saath divorce papers par bhi sign kar diye…. (Robbie is sitting on his bed deeply lost in Kasturi's thoughts…. Anjali enters)
Anjali: Wow Robbie super performance….. It was one of your best!!! The audiences were really touched by your performance today…. Tumhe pata hai organizers bhi kitne khush hain…. Kasturi aur Raunak bhi yahan hote toh kitna achcha hota na….. mujhe samajh nahin aata ki tum Kasturi ko bhi yahan kyun nahin laaye….
Robbie: Please Anajli…. Maine tumhe bataya tha na ki Kasturi ki tabiyat theek nahin hai…. Phir tum baar baar wohi baat kyun kar rahi ho??
Anjali: (sensing something wrong in his tone) Robbie?? Kya baat hai?? Tum jab se aaye ho udaas ho…. Itna achcha show hua magar tumhe koi khushi nahin hai is baat ki….. kya baat hai Robbie?? Sab theek toh hain na??
Robbie: (trying to hide his pain) haan sab theek hai Anjali….
Anjali: (comes and stands in front of him) Nahin Robbie sab theek nahin hain…. Kahin tumhara Kasturi ke saath…. (Robbie turns around at this) Oh samajh gayi…. Koi baat nahin…. Kal hum wapis ja rahe hain na…. Kasturi ko mana lena simple…. (cheerfully)
Robbie: Kaash yeh itna asaan hota….
(Anjali senses that something is really wrong with him…. So she coaxes him to tell her the entire matter…. Which he does…. Anjali feels sorry for Robbie)
Anjali: Robbie is main galati tumhari bhi hai…..
Robbie: Meri galati??
Anjali: Haan Robbie…. Maine tumhe bohut pehle kaha tha ki tum apni feelings Kasturi ko bata do aur phir usse decide karne do…. Lekin tum nahin maane….

Robbie: Lekin Anjali….
Anjali: Robbie jin haalato main tum dono ki shaadi hui thi… un haalaton main Kasturi ko waqt toh lagna hi tha…. Lekin Robbie agar tum usse yeh bata dete ki tum usse pyar karte ho toh yeh sach uski madat hi karta…. Woh secure feel karti…. Khair Robbie ab bhi kuch nahin bigada hai…. Kal jaate hi sab se pehle bina bataye Mumbai aane ke liye Kasturi se maafi maang na aur usse apne dil ki baat bata dena….
Robbie: (thoughtfully) shayad tum theek keh rahi ho Anjali…. Thanks a lot!!! (hugs her)
Anjali: (smiles) you are always welcome!!!
(Robbie and Anjali are in their friendly embrace when Kasturi who was about to enter the room stops in her tracks….. Tears starts flowing down her cheeks once again…. She quickly turns back and leaves without letting them know of her presence..... She takes a flight back to Delhi and goes straight at Chawla house…. She rings the bell…. Its already late in the night)
Kaushalya: Kasturi Puttar?? Tu is waqt yahan?? (Kasturi doesn't say anything…. Kaushalya gets worried looking at her daughter looking so pale and lost…. She brings her in…. Kasturi walks mechanically with her mother…. She just keeps on looking into nothing…. Since its already late and everyone has retired for the day she takes Kasturi to her room and makes her drink some water…. Kasturi doesn't utter a single word all through…. Now Kaushalya grows more anxious than ever) puttar kuch toh bol?? Kya hua hai??
Kasturi: (her voice and face devoid of every possible emotion) Maa main bohut thak gayi hoon…. Mujhe neend aa rahi hai….
(Kaushalya makes Kasturi comfortable on the bed…. Thinking possibly sleep will be the best option for her daughter at the moment and she puts the quilt over Kasturi…. Kasturi shuts her eyes but Kaushalya keep looking at her full of concern and sits beside her till she is sure that Kasturi is fast asleep…. Kaushalya leaves and Kasturi opens her eyes…. Though physically and emotionally drained sleep was the last thing on her mind…. All she could think of was the divorce papers…. She remembers Robbie – Anjali hugging in the hotel and think she knows why he wants a divorce from her and now there are no doubts on that matter…. Kasturi feels numb!!! Past memories of her time with Robbie their honeymoon, their small tiffs, their marriage, the time when Robbie waaas trying to put the clasp of the necklace around her neck flooded back at her…. Tears strating streaming down her face…. Lost in Robbie's memories she drifts into a restless slumber….)

Robbie comes back to Delhi…. Robbie and Anjali are in car…. Robbie is still tensed….
Anjali: Robbie…. Don't worry sab theek hoga!!!
Robbie: pata nahin Anjali….
Anjali: (gives him a assuring smile) relax!!!
At Chawla residence:
(In the morning everyone had gathered in the sitting room….)
Bauji: Kaushalya puttar nashta laga de…..
Kaushalya: Bauji mujhe aap se kuch kehna hai…..
Bauji: Haan puttar bol na…..
Kaushalya: kal raat ko Kasturi ghar aa gayi…. (she tells them the entire scene…. All gets worried)
JP: Kaushalya tumne mujhe bataya kyun nahin??
Kaushalya: Aap so gaye the lalaji….
JP: So hi raha tha na…. mar toh nahin gaya tha!!!
Beeji: (angrily) JP…. Kaushalya pe kyun gussa ho raha hai…. Usne wohi kiya jo usse sahi laga…. Kaushalya puttar… chal main tere saath chalti hoon…. Hum baat karte hain Kasturi se….
Kaushalya: Ji Beeji…. Chaliye… (they go to Kasturi's room)
At SS mansion:
Nandini is pacing up and down the sitting room waiting for Raunak…. Raunak enters after a few minutes……
Nandini: Beta Mumbai se kuch khabar aayi??
Raunak: Nahin maa….. Kasturi ki koi khabar nahin hai…. Robbie bhi wahan se nikal chukka hai…. Uska phone kab se try kar raha hoon magar unreachable aa raha hai (places a hand on his forehead)
Nandini: Hey bhagwan…. Ab kya hoga….. wahan bhaisahab aur Dushyant bas ghar pohaunchne hi wale hai…. Kya jawab doongi main unhe??
Raunak: sab theek ho jayega maa…. (places a hand on her shoulder) aap fikar mat karo!!!
(Dushyant and Puru enter the SS mansion….)
Puru: (starts calling) Kasturi…… Robbieeeee……. (Just then his eyes fell on Raunak and Nandini and the two men walk upto them…. Raunak touches their feet and seek blessings) Jeete Raho beta…. (looks around) Robbie aur Kasturi kahan hai?? Aur kya ho raha hai yahan??
Nandini: Kuch mat poocheye bhaisahab….. Robbie Mumbai e nikala hua hai…. Kissi bhi waqt ghar aata hi hoga aur Kasturi ka kahin pata nahin chal raha hai…..
Dushyant: (concerned) Yeh tum kya keh rahi ho Nandini….. Kasturi kahan hai??
Raunak: papa kal divorce papers milne ke baad woh Robbie se milne Mumbai gayi thi magar uske baad uska koi pata nahin chal paa raha hai….
Puru: Aisa kaise ho sakta hai Raunak?? Kahan gayi hogi Kasturi?? (thinks for a while and his expression becomes stern… looks around) Devika kahan hai??
Nandini: Bhabhi ko kissi urgent meeting ke liye office jana tha…. Toh woh subha hi chali gayi…..
Just then they are interrupted by someone….. "Hey Dad"…. They look behind….
Puru: Alaana…. kahin ja rahi ho beta??
Alaana: Yes dad…. Mujhe ek kitty party main jaana tha… I'll catch you later…. Bye
Puru: Your kitty party can wait…. Mujhe tumse kuch poochna hai…. Yahan aao??
Alaana: uffo Dad….. I'm getting late…..
Puru: (sternly) Maine kaha yahan aao Alaana……
Alaana: (makes a face and walks over to them) ji kahiye…..
Puru: Kasturi kahan hai??
Alaana: Oh plz dad don't bother me with all these things…. Mujhe kaise pata hoga ki Kasturi kahan hai??
Puru: (angry) Alaana!!! Main achchi tarah se jaanta hoon ki tumhe sab kuch pata hai…. Mujhe sach sach batao Alaana ke Robbie aur Kasturi ke beech ke problems ke baare main tum kya jaanti ho??
Alaana: (scared a bit) Problems?? Kaisi problem dad?? (fumbles) Mujhe kuch nahin pata…. Aur waise bhi us ladki aur Robbie ke beech mein kuch theek ho bhi kaise sakta hai…. Kahan woh middle class Kasturi aur kahan mera Rockstar bhai!!!
Puru: (slaps her hard) enough!!!! Mind your tongue Alaana!!! Kasturi bhi ab is ghar ka hissa hai…. Tumhari bhabhi hai!!! Ab tum mujhe sab kuch agar nahin bataogi toh tumhe aur tumhare us nakare pati ko issi waqt ghar chodna padega!!!
Alaana: (shocked) Dad!!! Aap us Kasturi ke liye mujhe ghar chodne ke liye keh rahe hain!!! Mujhe!!!
Puru: Mere liye tum aur Robbie ek hi jaise ho….. lekin agar meri beti mere bete ki khushiyon ke beech aayega toh main usse kabhi maaf nahin karoonga!!! Mujhe sach sach batao ki kya kiya Devika ne??
Alaana: (now scared…. Wipes her forehead) Dad woh mom ne…. Kasturi ke mann main pehle Robbie ke liye shaq paida kiya…. usse yeh ehsaas dilaya ki Robbie usse dhokha de raha hai aur woh aur Anjali….. (Alaana fumbles…..Raunak is shocked on hearing Anjali's name…. he doesn't know why but he feels bad… he doesn't like the idea of Anjali being used…. He looks at Alaana in disgust)
Puru: kya….. apne gande irado ko poora karne ke liye Devika itna gir sakti hai ki teen zindagiyon ko daav pe laga de… cheee….. aur tum Alaana… tumne bhi Devika ka saath diya!!!
A voice interrupts them… "Alaana se nahin mujhse baat kijiye Purushottam"…. Everyone turns to find Devika standing by the door…..
Puru: Aayiye Devikaji aayiye….. Sach kahoon Devika mujhe tumhari is harkat par hairani nahin hui…. Balki aaj mujhe yakeen ho gaya ki tum sirf aur sirf apne liye jeeti ho…. Na kabhi tumne ek patni ka farz nibhaya aur na hi ek maa ka…. Arre tumse toh apne hi bete ki kushiyan nahin dekhi gayi….
Devika: PURUSHOTTAM!!!!!!!!! Maine job hi kiya apne bete ki bhalia ke liye kiya!!! woh ladki Kasturi Robbie ke layak hi nahin thi aur Robbie usske peeche pagal ho chukka hai…. Isiliye maine aisi chaal chali ki Kasturi khud Robbie ko chod kar chali jaye!!!
Puru: Wah Devika Wah!!! Apne lalach ko Robbie ki khushiyon ka naam mat do…. Tumne agar kabhi Robbie ke khushiyon ke baare main socha hota toh kabhi tum Kasturi ko Robbie se door karne ke baare main sochti bhi nahin!!! Lekin tum…. Ek baat sun lo agar tum yeh sochti ho ki tum jeet gayi toh yeh tumhari galatfehmi hai…. Main Kasturi ko is ghar main wapis le hi aaunga…. Tum kuch nahin kar paogi!!!

Raunak: Hello…. Ji Namaste Aunty (tensed)…… kya?? Nahin Aunty aisi koi baat nahin hai….. Aap aisa kyun pooch rahi hai??...... Kasturi aapke wahan hai.. (he immediately looks up to ensure that he has everyone's attention towards him…..) Aunty hum abhi aa rahe hain…. Aap fikar mat kijiye…..
Puru: Kya hua beta?? Kahan hai Kasturi??
Raunak: Uncle Kasturi ki Mummy ka phone tha…. Woh keh rahi thi ki Kasturi unke wahan hai….
(Nandini sighs in relief while Puru and Dushyant looks at each other…. Devika is not at all happy…. )
Puru: Beta jaldi chalo Robbie ke aane se pehle humme Kasturi ko kissi bhi tarah ghar laana hi hoga!!!
Raunak: Ji uncle chaliye…. (They turn but are shocked out of their wits to see Robbie standing behind them….. They all exchange worried glances…. Robbie senses the tension…. Devika is now terrified coz she wasn't expecting Robbie so soon) Ro… Robbie tu (trying to act normal) tu kab aaya??
Robbie: (cutting him) Raunak…. Kya baat hai?? Sab itne tensed kyun hain?? Aur Dad Kasturi ko kahan se laane ki baat kar rahe the aap??
Raunak: Arre nahin Robbie woh… toh bas aise hi Kasturi bahar gayi hai aur uski car kharab ho gayi hai toh isiliye hum usse pick karne ja rahe the…
Robbie: Raunak tu mujhe bewakoof samajhta hai?? Sach batao ki baat kya hai??
Puru: (shoots a hard glare at Devika) Main batata hoon beta…. (puts a hand on Robbie's shoulder) beta Kasturi ghar chod kar chali gayi hai…..
(Puru's words crash on Robbie's ears like hot iron…. He looks at Puru with disbelief!!!)
Robbie: What!!! Nahin…. Aap jooth bol rahe hain!!! Kasturi ghar chod kar chali gayi…(trying to comprehend each word) Lekin kyun??
Raunak: (trying to handle the situation) Kuch galatfehmi ho gayi thi Robbie…. Hum abhi usse lekar aate hain!!!
Robbie: Kaisi galatfehmi Raunak?? (Looks at Anjali who was standing at a corner maintaining some distance) dekha tumne Anjali usne mere aane tak ka intezar bhi nahin kiya…. Kuch nahin bachcha humare rishte main ab!!!
Raunak: Nahin Robbie…. Tu Kasturi ko galat samajh raha hai….
Robbie: Nahin Raunak…. Galati meri hi hai…. Main hi is rishte main umeed dhoond raha tha!!!
Puru: Robbie aisi baat nahin hai beta…. (turns to Raunak) Raunak woh papers dikhao!!!
Raunak: Lekin Uncle….
Puru: Maine kaha papers dikhao Robbie ko…. (Raunak hands Robbie a few legal papers…. Robbie is confused but takes the papers and starts reading them…. He then looks up in disbelief….)
Robbie: (shocked) yeh papers….. maine koi divorce papers kabhi sign nahin kiye Dad!!!
Devika: (now scared) Beta chodo un papers ko…. Kasturi chali gayi hai….
Puru: Chali gayi ya uski bezatti karke usse is ghar se jane ke liye mazboor kiya gaya!!!
Robbie: (Robbie is now getting a hold on the situation) Koi mujhe batayega ki ho kya raha hai yahan?? Kasturi ghar chod kar kyun gayi?? Aap bataiye mom…. Aakhi kisne Kasturi ko itna bada kadam uthane ke liye mazboor kiya??
Puru: Yeh kya bataye gi Robbie… main batata hoon….. (Puru tells Robbie the entire story…. Robbie's reactions change from disbelief to shock to anger to pain and anguish!!!)
Robbie: (Looks at Devika with tears in his eyes) Mom aap aisa bhi kar sakti hain?? Kyun kiya aapne aisa mom…. Kyun?? (Devika tries to explain but Robbie cuts her off) Mom aapne aaj tak jo kaha jaisa kaha maine mana…. Kyunki mujhe lagta tha ki meri mom mujh se bohut pyar karti hain…. Sirf meri khushi chahti hain…. Meri mom mujhe dhoka bhi de sakti hai yeh toh maine kabhi socha hi nahin tha…. Mom….(He's choked….. he just controls his emotions…. There is a perfect silence in the room…. Robbie turns away from Devika who by now have tears in her eyes…. And starts walking towards the door…)
Raunak: Kahan ja rahe ho Robbie??
Robbie: (Getting hold over himself) Kasturi ko laane!!! (turns towards his mom) Ghabraiye mat Mom main aur Kasturi ab is ghar main nahin rahenge….(saying this he leaves the house not letting anyone say a word…. Devika is terrified…. Everyone is stunned)
(Raunak shakes his head in disappointment when his eyes falls on Anjali…. She's standing by the corner still but with her eyes closed and by leaning on a nearby pillar….. She's hurt and too stunned to react… Raunak rushes at her side….)
Raunak: Anjali…. Tum theek toh ho na…. (Anjali gives Raunak a painful look which lets Raunak's heart to wince in equal amount of misery….) Sab theek ko jayega Anjali….
Anjali: Raunak…. Maine kabhi nahin chaha ki Robbie aur Kasturi ke beech koi bhi aaye… lekin kabhi nahin socha tha ki jaane anjaane main hi un dono ke beech ki problems ki wajah…. (tears starts trickling down her cheeks….)
Raunak: Sambhalo khud ko Anjali…. Aisa kuch nahin hai… na hi aisa kuch hoga…. Robbie aur Kasturi ke beech koi nahin aa sakta…. Robbie gaya hai na Kasturi ko manane…. Woh zaroor usse manakar le aayega…..
Nandini: (strokes Anjali's back) Raunak theek keh raha hai beta… Jo kuch bhi hua us main tumhari koi galati nahin thi….. khud ko dosh mat do beta….
Anjali: (wipes her tears and nods in yes) Aunty mujhe kuch der akele rehna hai….
(Nandini gives an understanding nod while Raunak gets tensed…. Anjali walks upstairs to her room)

Kaushalya: (points towards the stairs) upar apne kamre main hai beta…..

JP: Arre Puttar yeh bhi koi poochne ki baat hai… jao beta…
(Robbie without wasting a single moment goes to meet Kasturi…. On reaching the room he slightly opens the door and looks inside…. Kasturi is sitting at the corner of the bed and is visibly upset…. Robbie prepares himself and goes in)

(Kasturi looks up and gets up from the bed at once….. She looks at him)

Robbie: Kasturi…. Main tumhe ghar le jane aaya hoon…..
Kasturi: Woh ghar mera nahin hai….. Main wahan nahin jaana chahti!!!

Kasturi: Kehne sunne ke liye ab reh hi kya gaya hai humare beech….. Aap chale jayiye ussi Anjali ke pass….

Robbie: (emotionally stressed and hurt) ok Fine…. Tum chahti ho na ki main yahan se chala jaaon…. Theek hai Kasturi…. Lekin ab yaad rakhna aaj tak main tumahre pass aaya hoon magar ab… tum aaogi!!!
(Robbie leaves the place immediately…. The trauma of his Mom's betrayal has completely taken over him….. He is too pained to give any explainations to anyone….. he had only expected Kasturi would give him one chance but she kept on refusing to listen to him….. this leads to his outbreak….. He feels no one neither his mom nor could his love understand him…. He feels dejected!!! Robbie walks out of the Chawla house without answering anyone's question….. Kasturi is left crying in her room….
Robbie speds away in his car to some place but all the while Kasturi words when she said nothing left between them and his mom's betrayal keeps coming back to him and he looses the his grip on the steering wheel and is dashed against a tree…. Robbie fells out of the car in the middle of the road lying unconscious in a pool of blood!!!)
