Kasturi could not believe what was happening. Robbie was sitting right next to her on the coach. This is the closet they have been since she bumped into him when they first met. Kasturi had to keep her feelings under control, she felt like a school kid meeting their favourite rock star. Kasturi twitched in her seat, Robbie's perfume smelt so intoxicating she could not help but turn to look in his direction. He was wearing faded blue jeans, with a black and white squared shirt under a short sleeve black top, he had dark shades on and looked different from his usual suited look. How does he manage to carry both looks and still look so hot Kasturi thought? She quickly looked away before Robbie catches her gaze.

Robbie: Nikhil yaar I cant believe Alaana let you come with us to Delhi

Nikhil: what do you mean?

Robbie: I mean usually Alaana accompanies you every where you go, even when you come to office. We are going to Delhi I am surprised she hasn't come with you

Nikhil: What are you trying to say that I am not capable of going any where with out Alaana?

Robbie: No its just I am surprised Alaana has let you out on your own. You never do anything with out asking her first, I am sure you even ask her permission when you go to the toilet! Lol

Robbie loved teasing Nikhil, they both often played pranks on each other.

Nikhil: so you are saying that I am a 'joro ka ghulam'?

Robbie: you said it bro! haha

Robbie laughed out loud, he loved winding up Nikhil, a few of the other workers from the back laughed as well.

Nikhil: Robbie you wait till your married I will be the one laughing then.

Robbie: haha that day will never come.

Devika: okay you too keep it down, few people are sleeping at the back.

Kasturi was pretending to read a magazine but she was listening to their conversation. Robbie seemed so different when he was laughing and joking around. As Kasturi found out more about Robbie she kept getting drawn more towards him. Robbie bent down and took out his laptop; he turned it on and started doing some work on it. It seemed as if he wasn't bothered that a girl, Kasturi was sitting right next to him. Kasturi was sure that not once did Robbie turn and look at her. Kasturi felt a bit upset, she thought he might at least talk to her but he looked too into his work. She put down the magazine, leaned back and closed her eyes.

The weather was turning bad. It was really windy outside, the wind blew hard against the windows, and Robbie noticed the window above their seat was open. He looked down and for the first time he properly laid his eyes on Kasturi. She had her eyes closed and was sleeping like a baby; her hair was blowing in the wind. She's beautiful he thought, she has a perfect face, each feature in proportion with the other. He had never looked at a girls face like this before, he couldn't take his eyes off, she looked so calm and at peace while sleeping. Kasturi shivered slightly as the cold wind hit her skin. Robbie noticed this and reached up to close the window. Suddenly the coach took a sharp brake, the jerk woke Kasturi, she looked around to work out where they were. The coach had stopped at a petrol pump to fill up. She saw most of the guys including Robbie and Nikhil getting off to stretch their legs.

Devika: Rita take out the flask of tea and the cups. I think everyone needs something to wake them up. Rita went round giving everyone a hot drink. The coach was ready to leave after a few minutes. The guys got back on, they had brought some biscuits from the shop. Nikhil started handing them out from the back.

Nikhil: What flavour would you like?

Robbie and Kasturi: Chocolate, they both said it together

Nikhil: There's only one chocolate biscuit left

Robbie: Its ok give it to Kasturi

Kasturi: No its ok I will have another one

Nikhil: guys I am not standing here watching you two play pass the parcel, one of you take it now or I will eat it

Kasturi: Ok we can share it

Kasturi broke the biscuit in half and gave one half to Robbie. They both sat in silence drinking their tea. They both wanted to talk to each other but they did not know where to start from. Robbie looked around and saw everyone else busy talking with the person sitting next to them, Nikhil was on the phone and Devika looked busy studying some papers. Robbie looked towards Kasturi and decided to break the silence.

Robbie: So where did you work before you joined us?

Kasturi was slightly surprised that Robbie was making conversation with her. She tried to hide her excitement and said:

This is my first job. I have only just graduated

Robbie: That's great

Robbie noticed Kasturi was reading a Bollywood magazine with SRK on the front cover

Robbie: so you into Bollywood films then?

Kasturi: ye I like to watch the films, there so nice I love the music especially. Don't you watch any films?

Robbie: Not really any I don't have the time. Besides I find most of the storylines to be so untrue and surreal, also it can be so mushy sometimes; you know the typical girl meets boy stories, if you know what I mean. The music is good I guess. I take it you're a fan of SRK

Kasturi giggled slightly and said: yep he is my favourite.

Robbie: not just you girls I think the guys like him too

Kasturi laughed and nodded along with Robbie. Their conversation slowly flowed in this way. It was nothing too over the top, they had a simple friendly chat. Robbie found out a little about her family and Kasturi found out a little about Robbies studies and more about the company.

After a couple of hours they had arrived at their hotel in Delhi. They all slowly got off the coach and dispersed towards their rooms. Everyone had their own rooms. They were all located on the same floor, guys towards one side and the ladies on the other. After lunch they all gathered in the conference room. Devika assigned everyone their tasks. There was a meeting due in the evening and it was Kasturis job to do a presentation.

Devika: Kasturi since you are head of HR you have to present your findings on the feedback you collected the other day. Amar has come back to work and he is here today so you can start working with him now. He should be coming soon.

Just then Amar walked into the room, Kasturi looked at him. Amar seemed like a nice guy, fairly good looking, with a sweet but shy smile. He walked towards Kasturi and shook her hand.

Amar: Nice to meet you Kasturi. Devika maam has told me all about you.

Robbie walked in then and saw them shaking hands, he smiled at everyone and went and sat on his chair.

For a few hours Amar and Kasturi worked together on their presentation. They got on really well, Amar is a nice guy who knows what he is doing. Kasturi felt very nervous doing her very first presentation but Amar assured her that it will be fine. Soon everyone came back into the conference room and gathered round to see what Kasturi presents. Devika spoke briefly before handing the work to Kasturi. Just then Robbie got a call on his phone; he slowly walked out of the room. Kasturi feeling very nervous and with butterflies in her stomach got up and started setting up her slides. Kasturi scanned the room and saw that Robbie wasn't there. She felt a bit relieved at least she won't have to see his deep piercing eyes staring at her and make her feel more conscious.

Kasturi looked at Amar who gave her a thumbs up and began her presentation. Robbie finished his conversation and slowly walked back in. He decided to stand by the door and wait for Kasturi to finish before he walks back to his seat. Robbie watched as Kasturi presented. She looked really professional and confident; all eyes were on her in the room. Robbie watched her delicate hands and fingers move as she spoke and pointed on the slides. The light from the projector hit her face and made it sparkle, Robbie stood their admiring her personality, her voice and the way she delivered her findings. The sound of clapping brought Robbie back to his senses, he walked back and sat on his chair. Soon the evenings work was over and everyone was free to go back to their rooms. Amar and Kasturi got up to go as well.

Amar: hey Kasturi you were great, I think we make a good team. He said this and put his arms round Kasturi trying to hug her. Kasturi was slightly taken aback by his sudden move. She did not expect this from a guy she only met. Kasturi got away from his hold and said slowly:

Thank you.

Robbie was still in the room and watched this happening. He felt uncomfortable seeing Kasturi hug Amar and a bit angry seeing Amar being so direct. It was obvious Kasturi did not like it and neither did Robbie.

Robbie left from there and went into his room, he took off his jacket and jumped onto the bed lying on his back. He closed his eyes and saw Kasturis face of when she was sleeping on the coach. He opened his eyes immediately and sat up on the bed, he shook his head and thought: What is happening to me? Why am I feeling this way? I hardly know Kasturi yet she is playing on my mind, her face wont move from my eyes, where ever I look I see her. Why did it bother me so much when Amar hugged her? Why?

All this was getting too much for Robbie, the confusion and mixed emotions running through his body and mind were almost driving him mind, nothing was making sense. Robbie decided to go for a walk and clear his head. Robbie pressed the button on the lift and went in, just as the door was about to close, Kasturi and Amar came running in.

Amar: just in time, the lift was about to close

They both got in, Robbie moved towards the side and thought: great this is all I need, the more I run away from her the closer she gets to me. The space in the lift was pretty small, Kasturi was standing more towards Robbie than Amar. She felt a bit uncomfortable about being with Amar so late at night.

What will Robbie think of me? She thought, I hope he does not think there is something going on. She decides to break the silence and says:

Robbie are you going out?

Robbie was looking down at the floor, with out looking up at her he replied:

I felt like getting some fresh air in the garden outside.

Kasturi felt that she had to clarify why she was there with Amar, she knew Robbie wouldn't ask.

Kasturi: Theres something wrong with my room key, it keeps getting jammed in the keyhole. Amar was passing so he helped me take it out, I am going to reception to get another one. Kasturi said clearing her throat.

Somewhere deep down Robbie was relieved that the reason for them being together now was genuine.

Amar: I am getting out here, I need to give my suit in to the dry cleaning room. Kasturi are you going to come or shall I meet you downstairs?

Kasturi: its fine you don't need to come, I will manage on my own, besides Robbie is heading down so I will be fine.

Kasturi did not want to go with Amar. He was a nice guy, but a bit too friendly for Kasturis liking.

As Amar got out Robbie let out a sigh, its as if he was holding his breath all this time. It definitely was a tight space for all three of them in the lifts together.

They were about to reach the ground floor, when suddenly the lights went off and the lift stopped. Kasturi got so frightened she jumped and grabbed onto Robbies arm. Robbie turned to look at her, her sudden action sent a scintillating shiver down his spine. Her face was so scared, she had her eyes shut tight. Her grip on his arm was strong.

Robbie: it's okay Kasturi I think there's a power cut. Its fine, I am sure they will fix it soon. Robbie reassured Kasturi and took a deep breath. His heart was beating hard against his chest- not because of being stuck in the lift, but because of being so close to Kasturi.

The lift suddenly jerked hard causing Robbie and Kasturi to hit against the wall. Kasturi was now leaning on Robbies chest, her hands gripped onto his shirt, her eyes still shut. Robbie reached out for the emergency button and pressed it again. Robbie felt a slight moist feeling on his chest; he looked down to see Kasturi was silently crying her tears had soaked a bit of his shirt. Robbie put his arms around Kasturi and tried to calm her down. Kasturi felt his arms around her and she looked up, their faces where very close to each others, he looked into her eyes, she looked so terrified. His heart ached to see her like that, he wanted to hold her tight against his chest and protect her. There were too many emotions running inside them both, their heart beats increased along with their breathing. Kasturi looked up at Robbie once more, she looked into his deep eyes and felt safe in his arms. Robbie looked at Kasturi, her face was glowing in the dark, her small cute lips twinkled. Robbie could not control his emotions anymore, he bent his head and reached for her lips.
