Basu Bari:

There was grave silence in the hall, where whole Basu family was present. Anupam was walking from one corner to the other. Moloy sat with his head in his hands.

Mohini- Kiski buri Nazar lagi humare ghar mein! Pehle woh Prerna Sharma, ab woh Bajaj ka beta!!!

Nivedita- It's the result of our own Karma, Mom. A month ago you called Prerna and her family 'middle class' and other sorts of cheap things and now look, our state is bad them!

Anupam-Now we have to be prepared for..

THE WORST. Anurag, who was silent till then, completed the sentence.

Rishabh entered the Bajaj Mansion. It was all silent. He checked the time.11 PM, his watch showed. Bajaj slowly crept into his ...Sorry, their room. Prerna and Kukki were sleeping peacefully on the bed. Rishabh felt guilty.

He kissed Kukki on her forehead and turned to Prerna and said, I am sorry, Mrs Bajaj. I didn't mean to hurt you. He begged her for forgiveness.

Little did he knew that she was awake, she was just laying there, with eyes closed.

She thought to herself, He is not that bad which he seems.

Is this the beginning of a new journey???

Chapter 3

Rishab went to the washroom to change and freshen up.

When he came out, he saw Prerna sitting onthe couch with two plates full of food.

You were awake? He asked.

Nope. Just woke up after hearing your noisein the washroom. Ab aake khalijiye. Mujhe bhi bhook lagi hai.

It’s better to lie for something good, or to say, for someone’s good.Prerna thought.

Rishab silently age his food. He felt badfor playing with her emotions. Unable to control himself,he said,

I am sorry, Mrs Bajaj…

She interrupted him, No need to sorry, Mr.Bajaj. Sometime it happens. Don’t worry, I didn’t mind anything.

Rishab smiled at her…

Next Morning:

Prerna woke up to see a bouquet of red roses on the bedside table. There was a card and a note in the bouquet.

The card read, For Mrs. Bajaj and Kukki’s Mother.

Prerna gets touched by his gesture. Shesaid to a sleeping Kukki, You have a loving father, Kukki.

She read the note.

Mrs. Bajaj, I am leaving for office early today. I will have breakfast and lunch there. Take care of Kukki and yourself.

Rishabh.

Mr. Bajaj reached the Basu Bari at 11 am,where the bidding was going on.

50, 51…70…

100 crores! said the business tycoon,Rishab Bajaj, taking off his sunglasses.

Tears rolled down Tapur and Nivedita’s eyes.Mohinibecame numb.

Moloy knew something like this wouldhappen,he will lose his house too.

And the bidding is over!!! And Mr. RishabBajaj gets the 60% share of the Basu Bari!

Rishab stood in front of the Basus andsaid, Now, Mr. Moloy and Mrs. Mohini Basu, Tit for Tat!!! Ah, your house is sogood. My Mrs. will be impressed. Leave it, vacate half of the ground floor andhalf of the first floor.

Anurag- First, you made us bankrupt, nowthis! Can I know what’s in your mind? Why are you doing this?

Revenge, replied Bajaj. He gave his famousdevilish smile and said , Better ask your parents and lovely Mamaji!!!

Tapur, Anupam and Nivedita burst outtogether, Mamaji?

Prepare for the ‘grihpravesh’ of Mrs. Bajaj. We will shift here exactly two days later.
