Apart from the performances and prize distribution, there was something else that caught our attention at a recently held television awarda show.

Ronit Roy's limp became a talking point after the function ended. Everyone was curious to know how the actor had hurt himself.

When asked about it, Ronit says, "I ignored an old injury while practicing martial arts.

During the shoot of the Holi song for Kasautii, I accidentally hurt my leg in the same spot."

Recovering under medical supervision, the actor had to resort to a walking stick to make it to the function.

We heard the actor is planning to make a short trip out of the city with his family. "Yes, I am leaving for a holiday with my family to chill out for a few days."

The challenge in the relationship: - T.J.Sidhu there could be a low esteem which could be a problem. A small tension or small burdens could become challenging problems.
The challenge in the relationship: - Manoj Bohra detachment or a feeling of hot and cold could bring some frustration in the relationship.
If the relationship turns into marriage: -The relationship will need a lot of commitment and time to run with harmony. Mannish Goel's penning a reality fiction

Just called on to check on as to what's happening with Mannish Goel post Betiyaan - Paraya Dhan. Currently on a sabbatical, the actor is busy penning a script.

The chilled out actor says, "I've not signed on anything post Betiyaan, since I am waiting for a powerful role to come my way. As for now, I am currently making the most of my free time; introspecting on life, working on my physique, doing up my new house, spending time with Aarav and writing a soap script for my wife Poonam."

Elaborating further on his pet project, Mannish says, "I don't believe in total black or white characters like a Tulsi, Parvati, Prerna or a Komalika. I believe in characters which are realistic and true to life. When my characters cry or laugh there will be a logic to it, something which used to happen during the Hum Log days. I call my soap a realistic fiction."

So, like many other actors, is he planning to turn producer himself? "I am not yet pitching it to anyone but some of my friends have suggested that I produce it myself. So, let's see what happens"

In the past, Mannish has essayed a variety of roles in Kahaani…, Kasauti…., Bhabhi, Paraya Dhan and Nach Baliye. Post which he was offered Kaajal and Durgesh Nandini, which somehow didn't work out due to financial differences.

Clarifying his position, he says, "I started my career with Rs 2000 per day and what I quoted for Durgesh was my market price, which I used to get for Bhabhi. I told the channel you quote your price but somehow they never got back to me. When a producer calls me for a role, I tell them to first tell me the role and if it's a good role, I don't haggle over money."

But does it pay to be so choosy in today's day and age when younger actors hog faster limelight? "I am sure it's worth the wait. I am waiting for that one role which will bring me back in the limelight. I want something mind blowing, something which is quite impossible."

Let's hope its worth the wait.

Shweta-Raja in commercial for spiritual jewellery

Shweta Tiwari (Prerna of Kasauti Zindagi Kay) and her husband Raja Chaudhary have shot for a commercial on spiritual jewellery named Divya Mantra. Says Raja, "The jewellery will help everyone who wears it, especially in their respective fields. The jewellery range will include rings and pendants and will fall in the price bracket of Rs 4,000 to Rs 10,000.When asked if they were planning to launch their own jewellery line, Raja replied in the negative. "We just did a commercial for them", says Raja. "I and Shweta believe in spirituality too. I'm wearing blue sapphire, emerald, solitaire and Shweta wears emerald, solitaire and cat-eye", reveals Raja.

The jewellery line is being launched by a company called Hammerplus and will be available in both in India and abroad from the 1st week of April. The commercial will also be out from 1st April.

Jassi, who approached Shweta for the commercial on the company's behalf says, "We wanted a very Indian, trustworthy face and hence Shweta got the nod. Further we wanted someone whose dates will be available for us."

Shweta-Raja have already completed their first Bhojpuri film, which is their home production. Raja is playing a negative character whereas Shweta is playing the lead role in the film that will release this month. Further, the couple will also be seen in another Bhojpuri film with Surendra Pal where Raja is once again playing a negative role.

Jennifer in lead

Jennifer Winget popularly known as Sneha of Kasautii Zindagi Kay to now play the lead Ganga in new serial.

Sneha (Jennifer Winget) of Kasauti has been signed to play the lead in a new serial for Star. The serial will be telecast in the afternoon. Jennifer has been playing Sneha in Kasauti for more than a year.

Says Jennifer, "I have already shot for three days for the new serial. The official launch of the show will be in May. From tomorrow onwards I'll once again join the shoot. The name of the show is not yet decided. The name of my character is Ganga. Ganga is a very sweet girl who faces ups and downs in her life and this is the story of her growth from a girl to a powerful woman. This girl is very true to life. She is very normal and simple town girl."

"Chaitanya Chaudhary is playing opposite me. It is basically the journey of Ganga and how she learns a lot of things about a world which she has never experienced. Ashish is the director of the show. The serial will be for afternoon slot on STAR Plus. Anita Kulkarni is also there in the show, but I haven't shot with other stars as yet."

Sneha is one of the main characters of Kasauti... Sneha is married to Omi (Shabbir Ahluwalia) in the show. Before this Jennifer did serials like Koi Dil Mein Hain, Kkusum, Kartika and Kahin To Hoga. Further Jennifer has done movies like Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya as a child actor and she also played Abhishek Bachchan's sister in Kuch Na Kaho. Her last serial before Kasauti was Shaka Laka Boom Boom.

Afternoon schedule of STAR Plus is as follows-
12.30- Kasauti Zindagi Kay (Repeat)
1.00- Kumkum
1.30- Bhabhi
2.00- Kesar
2.30- Sarrathi
3.00- Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi (Repeat)

So which show will they knock off from this long schedule? Six of them are Balaji shows and five of them are being telecast second time in the noon. All these five shows are prime time shows. However in May this new serial is going to come on air.

Spot on: Sanjit Bedi in Todha Si Zameen...

Having shed his suave image in Kasauti Zindagii Kay and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka, Sanjit Bedi aka Munna has donned a tapori look in Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman. And guess who has been designing his clothes in the serial? The spot boys. Sanjit has befriended the technical crew and tries to imitate them for his on-screen tapori look.

Sanjit shares his cigarettes with the spot boys and in turn gets valuable tips from them. So, how did the spot boys end up designing for him? Says Sanjit, "After I signed the show, the creative team came up with an idea about how Munna should look in the serial. Then suddenly the spot boys and light men came up with really good inputs for my look. Initially, everyone laughed at my tapori look but I thought that it could be interesting. Some of the unit members suggested some really cool accessories to go with my tapori character."

Elaborating on his look, Sanjit says, "The spot boys are upset about the fact that I do not show off my body. They don't want me to wear a shirt, they only want me to sport a netted vest. While the costume department arranges for my jeans, the bright colored shirts and Kolhapuri chappals are bought from the nearby markets. What I hate to wear is a bandana, but now I think it works for the character as well."

Interestingly, the actor has designed his own clothes in all the shows he has worked in the past. Says Sanjit, "Usually I design my own clothes and like to carry a personal wardrobe. But this time around I needed help as I have never played a tapori before."

Ain't no tower high enough!

She may be the prettiest face on television, but talk to Aamna Shariff about heights and the actress will be anything but cute with you!

Until recently, Aamna suffered from an acute fear of heights but one stage performance has vanquished that phobia.

Recently, Aamna performed at a television award show and was required to do a free fall from a 15-foot high tower.

Surprise!

Recalling the performance, she says, "I love performing on stage, but when I heard that I was to be elevated to 15 feet on a platform, I wasn't too excited.

In fact, everyone who knew I had vertigo would say that I wouldn't be able to do the jump during rehearsals."

However, on the night of the performance, Aamna surprised not only others but herself as well. "I was standing on top of the platform and waving to the crowd.

After that, I had to turn and fall with my back to the ground. Of course, there were people below who would catch me, but it was quite scary looking down from where I was standing."

Without wasting too much time, Aamna decided to go ahead with the free fall. "I closed my eyes and went ahead with the fall. It happened within seconds and I didn't even realise that the jump was over," she says, relieved.

Idle gossip

After this daredevil act, Aamna says she's now ready to climb any tower. "I think this stunt has finally rid me of vertigo. I feel I won't be that stressed the next time I go on top of a tall building."

On the work front, the actress denies she's going to be a part of a new Sony project with Cezanne Khan. "I have never confirmed this news.

There are loads of projects that come to me, but that doesn't mean I have signed all of them."

These days she's busy travelling around the country doing shows. However, one place she's really looking forward to visiting, is London. "My aunt and a few other relatives stay there and I haven't seen them in a really long time.

I am planning to make a short trip to London this month, but haven't figured out when."

Sikkander, Gitanjali: No time for play

The Kasautii couple has parted ways thanks to busy professional schedules

The latest buzz from the sets of Kasautii Zindagii Kay is that Sikkander Kharbanda who plays Indraneil and Gitanjali Tikekar who is seen as Apo*na, are no longer an item.

Of late, the couple has been spending a lot of time apart.

Gitanjali has gone missing from Kasautii as she now features in Karam Apna Apna.

Moreover, Sikkander, who is still part of Kasautii, has taken on numerous Bhojpuri films leaving him time for little else.

As reported 'Indraneil, Apo*na are an item' (HiTLIST, January 31), the two actors were inseparable on the Kasautii sets, leading to speculation in the past few months that there was more to their relationship than just being co-stars.

No time

When asked about the state of affairs, Sikkander says, "As we are no longer working together, we have no time to spend with each other."

He admits that when Gitanjali was in Kasautii, they spent all their time in each other's company.

"When not facing the camera, we would always be talking to each other; we would be together in the make-up van and have our meals together," he says.

The actor maintains that Gitanjali is a dear friend. "She is very busy with Karam Apna Apna so there's no time to catch up. And I have my Bhojpuri film commitments."

Onlookers from the Kasautii unit maintain that Sikkander, because of his friendly nature, is quite a ladies' man.

"There were definitely attracted to each other and remained inseparable. But it turned out to be a very short-lived affair and now both barely even meet."

Phoney talk

Though both were part of the Kasautii unit for a long time, they developed a close bond only recently. So has this couple drifted apart due to the changed working scenario?

Sikkander admits, "I no longer meet Gitanjali, but I do talk to her on the phone.

Everyone assumed that there was more to our relationship but there was nothing more to it."

It is learnt that besides her acting commitments, Gitanjali now is busy with her designer label, Luxe, which she operates from a unit in her hometown, Pune.

"This is old stuff and I have been designing for a while now," she says.
When asked about Sikkander, Gitanjali says, "I am not answerable about my personal life."
