Part 5
Its Sunday morning, Prerna's parents are still in Panchmeshwar and won't be back for another week. Anurag is still in Kolkota and don't know when he is gonna be back. Prerna has been waiting for his call all through the weekend, but he hasn't called yet. Rishabh is at the moment running as usual, he runs every morning, if he doesn't he feels restless the whole day.
Prerna calls him…
R: Hello, good morning Prerna ji.
P: Good morning to u too Rishabh ji
R: Thank you, kahiye kya kaam hai.
P: Kuch nahin, I was getting bored, so I called…
R: ok bye.
P: Kya?
He hangs up on her!
Prerna gets mad
P: what the hell does he think of himself…idiot!!
She calls him again…
Rishabh now stops by for a drink of water, and answers the phone, he is done with his run.
R: Haan bolo…
P: Why the hell did u hang up on me.
R: coz I was bored
He laughs
P: What?
R: u called me coz u were bored and I hung up coz I was bored, ok so tell me supp?
P: very funny (sarcastic)
R: thank u!
P: So Mr. funny…what's ur plan for today.
R: I was gonna go to Khandala
P: Khandala, today? Tumne mujhe bataya kyun nahin?
R: I thought u wouldn't be interested, padhayi mein busy hongi, and isn't Anurag coming back today?
P: jo bhi hai, u should have told me. Now listen even I am coming.
R: what about Anurag?
P: he isn't coming today, he told me he would call a day ahead of time when he comes.
R: ohhhhhhhhh so that' s why u want to come. I am ur time pass
P: Haan.
R: What!
P: Kuch nahin…mein toh mazaak kar rahi thi, tumhe kya lagta hai sirf tumhi mazaak kar sakte ho.
R: haan thik hai thik hai. Aati kya khandala?
She laughs
P: kya karu aake mein khandala?
R: sheee yaar, tumse nahin hoga. I will be there at 10 (am)
P: ok chalo let me get ready.
R: haan ok bye.
Rishabh n Prerna are on their way to Khandala…
P: Rishu listen…how long are we gonna be gone for?
R: How long do u wanna be gone for?
P: I don't know…2 days! I mean we have to study for our finals too…
R: yea, well fine we will back in a couple of days, let's not talk about studying.
P: I know that u planned this weekend getaway so that we can hit studies with full josh, when we are back! Nice idea.
R: Miss Josh, hosh mein aaja, studies ke liye time hai but right now I just wanna celebrate the New Year out of Mumbai, last year we were in Goa now this year Khandala anyways, I am gonna be gone for a business meeting to Australia, so isliye tumhe lekar ja raha hoon, so that u can study with full josh!!
He laughs! She does too…
R: Hungry?
P: haan
R: Chalo phir, let's find a good restaurant
P: Rishabh, I wanna drive!
R: THik hai, go ahead!
P: are u serious?
R: kyun tumhe chalana hai toh chalao. No problem.
P: Wow, Anurag toh mujhe kabhi chalane nahin deta.
R: Darr gaya hoga.
P: Tum nahin darr te
R: Isme darr ne ki kya baat hai, meine hee toh tumhe drivin sikhayi thi. Now that was scary. You didn't know the difference between right and left.
P: Haan haan, abh itni style marne ki koi zaroorat nahin hai, the bottom line is now I know how to drive.
R: Thanks to me, ehsaan faramosh!
P: Whatever…
R: Listen u can drive after we have lunch, lo restaurant aagaya.
P: yeh toh wahi restaurant hai jahaan hum 2 saal pehle aaye thay right?
R: haan, yeh wohi hai, chalo…
Rishabh and Prerna sit at a table
R: It's a nice place, hain na…
P: Haan its really nice.
R: so tum kya logi.
P: club sandwich
R: Bas?
P: Haan after all I am gonna be drivin…stomach light ho na chahiye, while traveling
R: Hmmm…right, drinks? Lassi le lo.
P: Thik hai.. tum kya loge
R: I will have the club too…
Just then a beautiful girl comes at the table…let's name her Esha
E: Rishabh! Tum…
R: Heyyy Esha! What a pleasant surprise
They hug and all that kinda stuff.
Prerna is jealous, she doesn't know why…
E: You are looking very handsome, Rishabh, as always!
R: Well right back at ya, lookin gorgeous…Well this is my friend Prerna, and Prerna this is Esha, we were in school together.
Esha and Prerna shake hands
R: Why don't u join us, Esha?
Prerna is angry!
E: Actually would have loved too, but my boyfriend Ronny and I are on our way to Khandala for the New Year Party
R: Awesome, well we are goin there too.
E: Catch ya there then. Take care Rishabh
R: Bye Esha.
Esha leaves…
Rishabh looks at Prerna who is annoyed.
Prerna teases him: Why don't u joiiiiiiiiiiin ussssss Esha!! Idiot!
R: Usmein itna upset hone ki kya baat hai.
P: Jaan na pehchaan woh humari mehmaan…
R: I know her longer than I know u
P: Then go to ur party with her na, I am goin back home.
Rishabh is like yea right she will go back.
R: But I didn't say I know her better than I know u right?
P: No, aww that's so sweet.
Prerna's anger vanishes with those words, she understood what he meant to say.
Rishabh becomes serious and Prerna notices it
P: What's wrong?
R: Kuch nahin
P: Come on Rishabh there is definitely something, come on tell me!
R: Ok this is serious stuff
P: serious and u, wow that's a change
R: Forget it.
P: Ok baba I am sorry, tell me
R: Prerna mujhe tumhari aadat see hogayi hai, aur tumhe meri, hain na?
P: Haan toh?
R: Toh humme yeh aadat tod nee hogi.
P: Kya? Mein kuch samjhi nahin
R: As usual confused hogayi ho na!
P: Haan samjha na please, what aadat breakin are u talking about.
R: u see Prerna, u r in love wid anurag, and anurag is in love with u, right?
P: Haan, but what's that got to do with us…
R: Let me finish
P: Ok, sorry
R: Prerna what I am telling u is that sooner or later u guys are gonna get married, and after that it will be impossible for us to spend time together like we are right now. I mean we are the closest of friends but marriage changes things a bit.
P: So u saying we should stop meeting (she is very upset).
R: Well not really, all I am saying is that…let's take this lil weekend getaway that we are having right now, it won't happen. I mean we will, but not just the two of us together.
P: Rishabh I think u r taking this way too seriously, I am sure Anurag doesn't mind our friendship at all.
R: Prerna u r so bholi bhaali, come back to reality. After marriage the title of ur best friend is gonna go to Anurag. I am talking from a guy's perspective, no man would want his wife to be best friends with another guy, I will always be there for u prerna but,
P: Lekin kya… (she gets a bit tear eyed, as it has struck her hard, rishabh realizes it)
R: Prerna, I am sorry, if I hurt ur feelings, but I am just trying to tell u what may happen, and I think we should spend some time away from each other isiliye…
P: isiliye tum mujhe iss trip par lekar aaye, so that u can spend time with me now, and then just abandon me, Rishabh I will always need you. You were there for me even before Anurag came into my life. You are one of the most important people in my life.
(She holds his hand; they share a moment, nothing romantic okay)
R: Accha now let's not get all senti, aaj ke liye itna kaafi hai.
P: U were the one who made this useless topic of discussion…coz I will never be able to choose between my friend and my love.
Rishabh thinks: Prerna u will have to, there is no way out. But I will take the decision for u, I am going to Australia to handle dad's business there. I know u won't be able to take the decision…sab kuch mujhe he karna padega, he smiles.
P: Kahan kho gaye?
R: nothing.
P: rishabh, u know what?
R: what.
P: I am gonna find u a bride.
R: great (sarcastic)
P: I am serious.
R: I don't think I am gonna get married. I don't believe in this love stuff
P: I will see to it, how u won't. Nobody knows u better than me, so whoever I find for u will be ur best match.
R: ok, dekho khaana aagaya.
Prerna sees Rishabh enthusiastic about food and smiles…
R: Yeh lo tumhara club and ur lassi.
P: thanks.
Prerna just watches him eat and he looks so cute, hehehehe. She smiles
Rishabh notices it.
R: Mujhe khaate hue pehli baar dekh rahi ho kya?
P: Shut up!
R: Come on eat fast, we have to get going.
P: Ok, baba, chill
Rishabh is done eating, he even takes a bite from Prerna's sandwich and Prerna is shocked
P: Rishabh!!
R: What?
P: Tumne mera sandwich!
R: I thought u didn't like it, I mean look at the way u are eating it, jaise ke zabardasti khaana padd raha hai.
P: Tum bhi na! Tumhe aur chahiye Rishu?
R: no, I am full! U have it!
P: Are u sure? I won't be able to eat the whole thing.
R: Toh itna kyun bhaav kha rahi thi, jaise I committed a big crime.
P: Haan u right, everytime u do that. Come on yeh lo!
RIshabh goes AAAAAAAA (with his mouth open) Prerna feeds him the last bit of her sandwich.
Rishabh and Prerna are done, and they leave.
R: Here are the keys, abh humme khandala lejane ki zimedaari tumhari.
P: Ok, coooool!
Prerna starts the car, and they are off.
Its been 20 minutes since they are in the car, and Rishu has already fallen asleep, Prerna looks at him and thinks about all those things he said in the restaurant about them not hanging out together much anymore, or how Anurag will feel insecure about their friendship and stuff. She looks at Rishabh cutely sleeping and smiles.
She is enjoying driving, she reflects on all the wonderful moments that she has spent with Rishabh both fighting and just being with each other.
after a couple of hours Rishabh wakes up and they are almost in khandala.
P: Good evening!
R: Yea, good evening. Wah mere sher, I mean sherni, good job! I am alive!!
Prerna laughs…
P: Thanks RIshabh! I mean I so wanted to drive, and now I am so happy that I got to!
R: Well no problem, are u tired, I can continue from here
P: Nah, I am fine, we are almost there.
R: yup, so wake me up when we get there, okay!
Prerna laughs…he is always resting while traveling but once they get to their destination, he is full on fun.
After half an hour they reach Khandala!
