He has been linked to almost all the women he has worked with and yet Cezanne Khan has never spoken anything in his defence. He says, "I haven't ever bothered to clear a controversy. I admit that it does trouble me sometime, but people believe what they want to. I'd rather keep quiet." Does that mean people's opinion doesn't matter to him? "Of course people's opinion matters to me. Even on my sets it's the technicians that I am close to. And I am sure they will have only good things to say about me. Also, when I am working nothing troubles me," says Cezanne.
Cezanne feels that his blunt attitude doesn't go down well with many people. He says, "I am blunt and very honest. If I don't like a person I won't try and be friendly with that person because it will benefit me. I have around five to six friends."
Does that mean he isn't friendly with the TV folk? "That's not true. One of my friends is Anuj Saxena. But I am a loner. I love martial arts and watching movies. If I am not on the sets, you will find me at home." That sounds a bit strange considering Cezanne's image as a casanova. "I don't like partying. Unlike what's written about me, I love being at home."
Speaking about his career plans the actor says, "I am patient, ambitious and hardworking. Also, I believe that you need luck by your side. When I started out, I got TV offers and I was wondering whether I should wait for movies. But my mother told me if you are capable enough then you'll achieve your goals. And I haven't regretted my decision. I have been lucky too. When Hasratein came to an end, I got Palchchin, when that came to an end, I got Kalirein and then I got Kasautii Zindagii Kay."
Bollywood is also on Cezanne's wish-list. But considering the fact that most TV actors who have left TV for Bollywood have failed, he says, "I am not going to quit TV for films. I would rather maintain a balance between both." However, the fact is that there are no actors who have managed to do that. He laughs, "I hope I am the first to do so. Even if I fail, I have only myself to blame. But I have to give it a try."
Meanwhile Kasautii... has been going on strong. "Yes, it's been five years. Anurag Basu has now become my second name," he laughs.
