oh i only just saw this thread i think you have found all the things you wanted to know by now..
but i thought anyways i should share this info
I agree with reeha that is the sort of the way I do it too.. I look for moments where i thought the story changed from the way i wanted to be and write from there..
and sometimes in the story when i see somekind of intersting moment.. it could be a moment that lasted just one second, it could be one glance that one character give the other, i sort of think what that person is thinking or hiding and build a story on that, and play in that little bit of emotion or that mistery that got me caught up in the fisrt place and I hope others would be interested in it too
And some times I think of a scene that i would love to see and I create situations to bring that scene in... then the story evolves... but you shouhld have your plot clearly in your mind otherwise it would become a mess
If it's harder to begin a story or a chapter just imagine if it's a movie how will it look like, what music will be played .. then I describe, not what I see or hear what i feel in that situation then you will have a very good begining I think
Basically what i mean to say is You should write something that you would love to see or read..
hope I helped you somewhat...
