umm...yea i decided that i should update it...here goes nothing 😆
Ugh, Anu thought as he watched Komolika do her routine, what the heck was she doing here? Probably concocting one of her scenario where he had ruined her life, taken her babies, how he had beat her, or one of the crazy stories she came up with. Lord knows that when they had gone to the United States, she had gotten him arrested countless times on charge of battery. Only after when they had verified that he had no in fact put a hand on her that they had let him go. He shuddered every time he thought about this on time that she had slashed herself one time in New York then called the police saying how he had cut her then left her for 'dead'. Apparently, those fools had believed her; of course, it was their job too. It had however taken a day after him being in the lockup for them to figure out that he had indeed not been lying to them when he had said that he had been in a business meeting.
If it was her creation to make Prerna and him suffer then she must not be alone because why would Prem and that weirdo girl Debo doing alongside his ex? Another example of how he had failed in life was Komolika. Lord knows she had told him often how much he had failed. He had not listened in the beginning, but when Apo*na had also gone haywire, he had seriously thought that there was something wrong with him. Back to the subject, he hoped that the jokers Prem and Debo were not in league with Komo because that would more shocks than Prerna could handle in a day.
For the first time in a couple of years as Rishab pulled in the driveway of Basu's house, he actually felt a rush of anticipation go through him that was not unlike ones he did when he bought companies over and it had nothing to do with the fact that he was going to see Prerna again. It was more of a coming back to where he felt familiar. Those few years in America had been great as had watching his new company flourish and become a major player in the market, but there was nothing like coming back home. The saying ves badlo lekein des kabin nahi badloge was indeed true. He did not know if the hurt would be gone Prerna not loving him by the time he saw her again or maybe killing Prem would abolish the pain. That thought brought a smile to his face.
Then he saw Sam and all the thought were swept away except for the happiness of seeing her again. She still looked as wonderful as a couple of years ago did and he still valued her friendship as he had those years ago. In fact, he corrected himself; he valued the friendship even more. She had always been there to pour his feelings and he knew that had Prerna not already stolen his heart, she was the woman that a man might give his heart to.
He knew that he was grinning like a fool as she opened the Benz and got in, but he could not seem to help himself. As he pulled out, he saw Sam give a grin.
Even though Sam was really excited to see Rishab, she could not help but ask him, "Do I look funny to you?" When he just shook his head, she asked, "Then why the fool's grin?"
"Aw Sam, you know the reason, it's your wonderful humor. It makes a man loose his heart to you. I think that I would like to get on my knees and ask you to marry me and live with me on a cottage with a rose and other flower garden," Rishab replied with a grin.
"Sorry tiger, I am allergic to roses and pollens," she replied deadpan though her eyes were twinkling.
"But they have medicines for allergy," Rishab replied with a bigger grin.
"I'm sorry I just got fired from my job, so I have no medicine insurance. You know the price of medications these days, so Casanova, you are out of luck," Sam replied, barely suppressing a grin.
"Aw, shucks! Why do you need one for? I am a millionaire remember, I could probably garner enough money to buy one or two allergy medicines. So what do you say?"
"Yeah, yeah, but I doubt that they have medicines for people who are allergic to idiots like you."
Rishab's impression of a crestfallen face was so comical that Sam gave in the urge to smile. "Babes, before you say no_"
"I already did, Rishab."
"You sharp girl! You are breaking my heart. Look at it bleed!"
"Yep that's me! Breaking hearts everywhere I go, besides I thought you told me that you had a bypass from the last time that I broke your heart."
Rishab had to smile at her cheeky humor. "You looking good girl and that is deep from my heart."
"Really? Oh for a minute I was flattered, that was before I saw that you were not wearing your glasses and the fact that its night out right now."
"No seriously Sam, you look really different!"
Sam blushing, "Really?"
"Yes," Rishab said all deadpan, "your eyes look further apart."
Sam caught between exasperation and laughter decides on hitting Rishab on the arm.
"For sure Sam, I think that you look younger."
"Oh thank you. I like to think that I have found my fountain of youth because of my good genes."
"More like thousands of money spent on Botox," Rishab said as he rolled his eyes.
"You are horrible you know that."
"Proud to be a horrible person. In fact, I have learned to charm more women with this 'horrible' charm than I care to remember."
"Really? Tell me one way."
"Okay you know you are like at a grocery store and you see a ba_I meant a gorgeous woman_"
"Yeah?" Sam asked more interested than she cared to admit.
"Well, what you do is you gently bump your cart with hers and then she gets all flustered, so then you can be the suave yet humble savior. After you say sorry like thousand time to make your point, you insist that she have tea or whatever for the 'accident.' Then it just goes on from there."
"It actually works?" Sam asked with shock.
"Well sometimes it takes more than that, but I can tell you from experience that it usually works," Rishab responded with a grin.
"How many women actually fell for that?"
"Well ma'am, a gentleman never kisses and tells."
"You? A gentleman?"
"Why yes, in fact I used to teach a class called Gentleman 101."
"That's a bunch of bull if I hear one. I am sure the executives of the company that you buy over do not think that you are a gentleman. In fact, they probably think you are the complete 180 degrees from a gentleman."
"It breaks my heart to say this, but I have to admit that what you say has a trace of truth," he said, though he did not look remorseful.
"Well," Sam said, "you do take over a lot of companies."
"What can I say," Rishab took his hands off the steering to fling his hand into a kind of bow, "I'm very good and I am very, very humble."
"Pssh…one would say that you are an egoist."
"Like I care what you think, I mean you are a quack after all. It's your job to analyze anyone and everyone that comes in your sight."
"I prefer the term shrink," Sam said indignantly though her lips broke into a smile.
They maintained the teasing the whole ride, but all faade of laughter was gone from Bajaj as his car made his way into the gate of Prem's house. It took them quite long to get in from the gates as there were cars pulling out. Apparently, there had been a party going on, but now it was over. Just like Prem's life had been had been a party but every party had to end.
