'Hey Bhagwaan. Tu bhi pagal hai Bani, kiske liye knock kar rahi hai? For the ghost who lives inside after Mr. Walia goes home?' she laughed at herself.
She went inside and turned on the small light on Mr. Walia's desk and looked for the file. She took it, switched of the light and turned around. She stopped. For a moment it seemed like she could not breath. She turned white, but ready to scream, like she indeed had seen a ghost.

Part 6.
On the big sofa, next to the door she saw a sleeping figure, covered by a blanket. She got scared.
'Ramji, kahin yeh sachmuch ka bhoot to nahin? Bhoot ke ilawa office me kaun soyega?' She started to remember every horrible scene from every horror movie Pia made her see. She hated horror movies and she hated ghosts more.
'J-j-j-jai H-h-h-h-hanuman gyan g-g-g-g-gun sagar, J-j-j-jai kapish tehu l-l-l-lok uj-j-j-jagar' While stuttering the Hanuman Chalisa with a shaky voice she walked towards the door with unsteady steps. She had only one goal: just to get out of this cabin! Her heart pounded and she kept scolding herself for not turning the light in the office on before entering. Bani had only used the small light on the desk to search for the file she needed. She was close to the door, she just had to open it and get out of here, but Bani was scared to go anywhere near the sofa. She took a deep breath and ran towards the door, opened it and thanked God.
While going out she could not suppress the urge to look back at the sofa. The light that came in from the main hall was enough for her to see what, or rather who had scared her. On the other end of the sofa Bani saw the handsome face of a man, half-covered by the blanket. For a while she was mesmerised by that face, till she realized who was sleeping on the sofa. It was her Boss. It was Mr. Walia. Bani ran to her office.
At nine Bani entered Mr. Walia's office. He had shaved and was wearing a different suit. She gave him his cup of coffee. He asked her when she came in. She lied.
'Mai abhi ayi hun, Mr. Walia. I figured you must be in hence the coffee. Would you like to see your schedule for the day now, or later Mr. Walia?' she asked with a soft voice.
'Now will be fine Bani.' Bani did not know why she lied about her arrival. She knew she felt very awkward around her boss after seeing him sleeping on the sofa and kept wondering why he was sleeping there. At last, in the afternoon she told herself that he must have been working till late.
'Maybe he thought it was to late to go home and disturb his wife by coming home that late. He must have called her. Why are you getting worried?' Bani scolded herself.
Bani's afternoon was filled with meetings she had to attend with Mr. Walia. He was very impressed by her work. Most of the PA's he had would have made tons of mistakes by now, or would flirt shamelessly with him. But Bani did none of that. She was a professional.
'But I wonder why she is so scared of me? I know most of the people are scared of me, but she knows me personally. She lives with my family. Phir bhi mujhse darti hai?' Jai thought.
After the last meeting Mr. Walia told Bani to go home.
'Make sure you are here on time tomorrow Bani. We have an early meeting tomorrow. Good night Bani'
'Yes Mr. Walia. Good night.' Bani was just in time for dinner. They were all glad she could make it.
'Kyu Bani. Jai tumse bahut kaan karwa raha hai kya?' Mausi asked concerned.
'Ane do usko agli baar, kaan khinch lungi uske.'
'Nahin Mausi, aisi baat nahin hai. Meeting me thori der hogayi. Isilye late aayi hun. Sorry.
Uhmm Mausi……woh…..uhm.'
'Haan Bani, kya hua.' Everybody was looking at Bani, but somehow she could not speak about what she saw in the office this morning.
'Kuch nahin Mausi. Adi Uncle, meeting ke details aap ko bhi chahiye?'Bani asked trying to change the topic.
The next moring Bani woke up early. Ranveer had called up from Switzerland in the night and they talked for half an hour. She wanted to tell him about what she saw, but decided not to. It clearly bothered her a lot.
Bani did her daily routine in the morning. She noticed she had still time to have breakfast with everybody. After that she changed and left for the Walia offices. Bani was in earlier than most of her colleagues, and gathered the essential files she would need for the day knowing she would be out in meetings for the rest of the day. Bani knocked on Mr.Walia's door and entered his office. He was working on his computer and did not look up.
'Good morning Mr. Walia.uhmmmm......These are your appointments for the day. Would you like to have some coffee?' He finally looked up.
'Good morning Bani. Thank you. Yes some coffee would be great. Bring some for yourself too. I want to discuss something with you.'
'Sure Mr. Walia.' Bani went out and brought a cup of coffee for Mr. Walia and a cup tea for herself.
'Bani we have a meeting with the Khanna's today, and they are very demanding. I want to see their file before we meet them.' Bani placed her cup on his desk and showed him the file. He mentioned to rephrase a few sentences and complemented her work. He suddenly noticed her cup of tea.
'Kya baat hai Bani. You don't drink coffee?' He asked. He could not imagine people not liking his favourite drink.
'No Mr. Walia, it's not that. I uhmm………I don't like the coffee here. I like uhmmmm…….I only drink cappuccino's.' she answered nervously.
He suppressed a laugh.
'Good taste, but why is she so scared of me? Mr. Walia thought again.
Bani and Mr. Walia met the Khanna's in Khanna's office. It was a quick but successful meeting. After that they had three more meetings. Finally they got a one and a half hour break.
'Bani would you like to have lunch?' Mr. Walia asked.
'You must be hungry and I know a few good restaurants around here, we could have lunch there. Bani was shocked. How would she be able to eat with the man who made her nervous and stammer like hell? What would she say to the man she has not spoken a word to in three years unless necessary?
'Just refuse!! Say NO! You will only embarrass yourself in front of him! Say NO!' a voice in her shouted. But Bani's stomach decided differently.
'Ji Mr. Walia. uhm…….I mean…..uhmmmmm. Bani just lowered her head and followed Mr. Walia who already was walking towards his car.
Mr Walia asked his driver to drive to a Chinese restaurant. Bani came here a few times with Aditya for lunch and loved the food here. She was glad she came to a place known to her, thinking that it would lessen the possibility to make a huge blunder in front of the boss.
After ordering their food there was a long and uneasy silence between the two of them., well it was uneasy for Bani. Mr. Walia was a man of less words, and that was a well known fact. Bani decided to try and start a conversation.
'…uhmmm……Mr. Walia…..uhmmmmmm… I could not get any elaborate notes on the last meeting with the software company. Was there any important decision taken I should know about?'
'Not really Bani. That was just an introduction they thought was necessary. Nothing to worry about……………….so………… you like the restaurant?' Mr. Walia was trying to keep the conversation going noticing his PA's discomfort. Because he never made the effort to chit-chat with anyone he could not come up with something else. Even he did not knew why he was making an effort to calm Bani's nerves. This was definitely not Jai Walia's style.
'Yes Mr. Walia. I really like it here. I come here often with Adi Uncle.' ' Do you like eating out at restaurants?' Mr. Walia was surprised himself. He asked a second question, not related to business.
'Not really Mr. Walia. I like to cook myself. I only go out to celebrate, but Adi Uncle gave me a treat here a few times for successfully handling projects and that kind of occasions. And sometimes Ranveer takes me out too, but to a different restaurant. ' Bani started to relax a bit.
' I know that place Ranveer likes. It's really good. I go there a lot too. Almost everyday actually. They serve amazing pasta's in the evening.' Mr Walia commented.
'So your wife must like pasta's a lot too.'. As soon as Bani finished this sentence she noticed a cold and scary look in Mr. Walia's eyes. The expressions on his face changed for some reason. Luckily the food arrived in time.
After that incident lunch was a dreadful affair passing by too slowly for Bani, because both of them did not talk a lot. Her boss on the other hand had quite an enjoyable time. He liked this girl. She had all the quality Adi or Mausi had only told him about. In each and every conversation he could see her simplicity, her caring nature and her honesty. And on top of that she did not flirt with him, nor was she an airhead. Though Bani never talked a lot, and he preferred to be silent all the times, he discovered a lot of things about her. Mr Walia could judge people without hearing a word from them, a quality that made him the best businessman, a quality that made him THE Jai Walia
