Part 52
Bani sat down with a sigh and looked out the big huge windows. It was a tiring day, with everyone running around the house, making sure everything was getting done for Varun's birthday party, held that evening. Just as she sat down, she heard Jai's voice calling her. She shook her head as she very well knew why jai was calling her.
She walked over to the study, where she found her husband, engrossed in his laptop. Examining his face, she knew that he was as usual, stressed out or deep in concentration. She walked behind his chair and rested her head on his shoulder, with her cheek touching his. She saw that Jai was busy finishing a presentation…
B: what did you want??
J: hmmmm….
B: Jai… you called me… two seconds ago…
J: huh… right… right… where is my file??
B: ufff Jai… you have soo many files… how am I suppose to know which one it is
J: the blue one…
B: must be somewhere here, like usual
J: but it isn't…
B: did you check… carefully??
J: Yes!!
Bani looked on his desk, on which there was a huge mess. She shook her head as she remembered sorting everything out only two days ago. She moved away two files and a few papers and she found it. She tapped Jai's shoulder and pointed to the file, sitting on the desk, all this time.
B: tell me Jai, where did you search, that you couldn't find a file, sitting in front of your face?
J, smiling: Baaaaaaaaaaniiiiiiiiiiiii
B: haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan
Jai made Bani sit on his lap, as her arms went around his shoulder. He gently nuzzled her neck, as Bani tried to push him away, knowing full well where this will lead…
B: Jaii… we have a party in like one hour
J: one hour is plently of time Mrs. Walia
B: be quiet Jai… okay, listen
J: hmmm
B: no, I am serious… I want to go to Mt. Abu
J: whats Mt. Abu?

J: okay fine… why do you want go to Mt. Abu

Bani got up in anger and walked away to her room, leaving a smiling Jai behind. She marched into her room and went through her closet, unable to decided on what to wear. As she stood there, in the huge walk-in closet, she felt Jai's strong arms around her waist and his chin on her shoulder.
He gave her a soft kiss on her cheeks and fiddeled with her fingers. He purposely came in her way, just to irritate her more. Until finally Bani lost her patience…
B: Jai!! I am getting late… MOVE!!
J: what if I say I don't want to move…
B: urghhhhhhhhhhhh!!
J, laughing: you look soo cute
B: why do you annoy me soo much… I have to pick what to wear.
Jai turned around and selected a random sari and handed it Bani, who took it and turn to leave. He caught hold of her arm and pulled her towards him. She stood there in his arms as Jai gently patted her hair.
J: I promise… we will go in a few days
B; hmmmmmmmmmmmmm….
J: I love you
B: but I hate you
J: hey!! I mean it
B: and I mean it too Mr. Jai Walia
Saying that she ran away to the bathroom, before Jai could even block her way. Giggling to herself like a little school girl, she got a quick shower and came out wear her blouse and underskirt. She was drying her hair with her towel, when she found Jai sitting on the bed staring at her. Bani blushed as she found his eyes roaming around her body, especially her exposed belly.
Bani turned away to the mirror and tied her hair up with a clip. She carefully tied the delicate sari around her. She felt Jai's arms around her waist and looked up to see him through the mirror. She smiled at him and got back to her sari. But Jai kept irritating her, taking her concentration away.
He took off the clip, making her wet hair slid down her back. He tickled her bare waist making her do the pleats for many times. After managing to tie her sari, some what secure she turned around with a mock anger look at Jai. He only smiled at her and bend forward to capture her lips with his, when both of them heard the door open and Varun walked in jeans and a cute red shirt.
He first stood there, staring at Jai and Bani in a locked embrace until finally Jai let go of Bani and picked up Varun in his arms. Bani looked back into the mirror and finished tying her sari securely with pins. She blow dried her hair as Jai played with Varun. She put on her jewellery, some light make-up, a few bangles and finally finished her attire with her mangulstra and sindoor.
She turned around and walked to the closet. She took out Jai's black suit and set it on the bed. She picked up the wet towels and put in the laundry basket. Varun left the room and Jai turned around to find Bani. He was amazed at her beauty.

Even though he saw her for almost three years, everyday she looked just as beautiful as before. But today she looked exceptional in a sari, which he randomnly picked. But afterall, she was his wife. She was meant to look beautiful.
B: Jai, we are getting late… hurry up and get ready
J: you know what, lets not go to the party
B: why?
J: its been ages since we spent time together… lets go somewhere
B: and bunk the party?
J: you read my mind
B: in your dreams… come on, its Varuns B-day… how can I miss it

Bani literally pushed Jai into the bathroom. He came out a few minutes later in his black suit, with his hair gelled back and watch in place. Bani smiled at seeing Jai. He looked as handsome as ever (don't we all think he is handsome….). Jai slipped his hand on her waist and together, both of them walked down the stairs, with the media as usual clicking pictures.
As they walked the down stairs, Bani looked around to find many girls staring at them in awe. Now, she was not that innocent not to realized that the looks went to her husband, not to her. Afterall, every young girl in Mumbai admires Jai Walia and most young girls envy Mrs. Jai Walia.
J: what are you smiling at?
B: the people who must be cursing me…
J: why??
B: because, I am the wife of the Jai Walia … its every girls to dream to have you as a husband

B: don't think that I feel the same
J: so you mean to say I am not yout dream man
B: please… you are more like nightmare
J: then why do you suppose all of those girls are in love with me

Bani was about to respond, when she realized that they reached the bottom of the staircase and the media was already stared firing questions at them. As if on the cue, Jai switched his teasing tone and answered everything professionally. This party was also thrown on the occasion of finalizing a a big deal, which Ranveer and Jai were working on for months.
After finally getting away from the media, Jai turned to Bani, about to ask her who her crushes were. Only, she walked away and joined some on her friends, while Jai was stuck with some business associates. Soon he forgot the matter, but from time to time, both of their eyes met. Jai pleaded Bani to get out of the party and got out somewhere, where they are alone, but Bani only refused.
The cake was cut and Jai grabbed Bani's arms and took her outside, without anyone noticing. Upon asking where they were going, he replied that they were heading to the beach, which was right beside the Walia Mansion. He ignored Bani's protests and almost dragged her to the beach.
Like they expected, no one was there. It was deserted, as it was late into the night and everyone was heading home. Jai took Bani's hand and together they walked along the beach, with their shoes in their hands. The waves occasionally touched their feet and after a few minutes, they sat down, looking at moon.
B: this is soo beautiful
J: not more than you
B: why are you soo romantic today Jai?
J: because of you
Jai started twirling her hair in his hands, while Bani rested her head on his shoulder. For a long time they sat there under the stars, talking to each other. It soon started drizzling and before a storm started, both of them got up and walked home. The Walia Mansion was very quiet for the party had ended hours ago.
Drenched in rain, both of them walked inside very quietly. Jai picked up Bani in his arms and went up the stairs. He gently kicked open the door and shut it behind them. He slowly nuzzled her neck and laid her on the bed.
His lips travelled up her neck, with soft and soothing kisses. His soft lips met hers and both of them went into a world of their own. His hands slowly travelled to her wet blouse and soon, both of them were making love for each other.
Engulfed in passion and romance, both of them lay awake in the early hours of the morning. Bani's head was resting on Jai's shoulder and his arms draped over her waist.
B: Jai…
J: hmmm….
B: we will always stay like this
J: haaan…. (trans: yeah)
B: promise me you will love just as much
J: no… I will love you more
B: people say, in the beginning, every husband will love his wife, but once he gets bored, he won't even care for her

J: I don't want to remind you of old memories
B: I don't have any memories with you Jai
J: yeah right… you have two years worth of memories Bani…
B: but I don't even remember our wedding
J: trust me, it is better this way

J: because, we had a very shaky beginning… we HATED each other… but then we started to get attracted and I guess, we fell in love

J: then Pia came… she manipulated me against you and I fell for it
B: and then??
J: I kicked you out of the house and then the accident… I found you in the hospital, not even being able to recognize anyone except Rano…
B: the met the doctor yesterday
J: what did she say?
B: she said everything is fine and that I should be getting my memory back… but nothing is happening… I don't know why
J: Bani… the brain is a very complex… no one can really say anything in certain about it…. It is all study and guesses… so what, if nothing is happening? Why do you need to have your old memories, when you can always make new ones…
B: but still
J: I don't care if you remember anything or not… all I care is about you…
Assuring that, Jai fell asleep a few minutes later. But Bani lay awake, thinking about what he just said. Jai always made her feel normal… like nothing was amiss in their perfect lifes… but she knew the loss… and she was doing everything she could to make it better… first her memory and then their child… she checked with her doctor every month, but all she could say was, 'it is better than before…'.
Jai even got mad when she tried to bring up the topic. So she stopped telling him about her appointments, even though he knew she was visiting the doctor. But knowing that everything happens for the good, she snuggled closer to Jai and fell asleep, thinking about him!!
