Pia 7 Kiran stooped so low. They sent Bani away 😡 😡 .

Some how with the referece of Jhasi ki raani, being brave & handwritten note on the book I had thought that Bani will stand up to Kiran. Now she has one strong support Jai. Was little disappointed that she just obeyd Kiran without any complain. She should have at least asked for Rano.

Waiting to see what Jai does to find Bani hopefully soon.

Divan, I just read all the parts of the story you have penned and must say that you have done a marvellous job of portraying a woman's plight, in this case a widow's plight. It is truely sad to this that even in this day and age, people believe in ostracizing widows and make them believe that they are 'abhagans'. Here, Jai Walia has entered Bani's live like a whiff of fresh air and is providing some colour to her dreary life. Her stepmother is an insult to all motherhood for treating her in suhc a degrading manner. I am glad that in the midst of her so called family, Rano is the only one who truely loves her didi and can go against her family for her. Now that Jai knows what Kiran has done, he should make sure that that she gets a fitting punishment. 😡

I am sorry for the late response to the previous two parts, just caught up!

It amazes me how you write such parts and evoke such emotions so beautifully!!!👏👏👏

I loved the poems and the quotes you have used, they take the story forward, in the sense, highlight the emotions the way they need to be done!

Kiran symbolises the insecure second wife, who knows she or her daughter aren't good enough, and they are solely responsible for that!

Pia I would not want to blame since she has been modelled the way her mother wanted her to become!

I hope Rano does something and bring the two people who are meant to be, together.😊

Amazing updates Kanta and a very good storyline, please continue soon😳

Great part.
liked it
beautifully penned....all the emotions...Bani's reaction to Rano words and her emotions while tell about Jai to Rano.
Kiran and Pia..don't want to say anything about them 😡 😡 😡....I was hoping that Bani will protest if Kiran does something...but again knows she will not bc she was child who is seeking love and affection from her mother and for that she can do anything.
hope Jai will find her soon.
p.s. read the artical...it is very shameful to know that this costums still continue in todays socitey....widows are not accpeted as part of family and socitey...and they are treat like that.
plz cont. soon

Hey K,

Caught up on the FF right now....

Your selection of poems and thoughts n quotations is just marvellous...you take a lot of effort in getting the right ones for your story and they fit just perfectly with it!

Your stories (all of them without an exception) are always very different and tackle varied themes which make them an engrossing read!

Here you have taken the plight of a widow and the way she faces emotional and social ostracization....Pia and Kiran were 🤢

Rano was like a ray of sunshine😃 and Jai...😳😊 He was the Sun himself😉 The letter was beautifully penned!

A woman can be another woman's best friend and sometimes the worst enemy too...

Your story somehow reminded me of the movie, Water which I saw a few months back...although the movie left me severely depressed, it did portray a stark reality of our so called society and its attitude towards women....be it a married one or a widowed.

It might sound atrocious to a lot of people, but even today, in some families, widows are treated in a very degrading manner...if not in an obvious way, then in a subtle manner...but they are differentiated...

But there is always hope for a better tomorrow...

Will be awaiting the next part!

Cheers,

R

I saw Water when it came out, my husband saw it too. At our mandir, the pandits are from India and we were talking about and they were all against the movie saying things like this doesn't happen now day. They failed to understand that it happened in the past, we should learn from our past and take steps that no one points a finger and say look how they treat this women. Instead of applauding someone who took a difficult subject and made a movie not to make money but to get people thinking.

Deepa's other movie Earth to leaves you thinking at the end how can a friend turn against another, one moment they are sharing food and the next one betrays the other because the woman chose to love another.

Divan, the twist towards the middle was a big surprise for me. I was actually expecting to see some kind of a word fight between the dixit family. But Pia hearing the developments and the next course of action to bundle off Bani to Benares was very poignant.

I am not sure, I did read about Water and I always thought that such things existed in the olden days but I guess India has become a land of extremes. Where we have acute poverty we also have the Worlds' richest man and where we have people restarting thier lives we have a equal measure of people or possibly more who are going through the ordeals that you mentioned.

I tried and caught up with a couple of your FFs recently and one thing which really stayed in my mind was the diversity that you bring into them in terms of the choice of the plot. and the other thing was the number of Short FFs that you have written. I guess I cannot complete reading all of them in one shot but I guess at this point am beginning to read them and look forward to enjoy them as well. I just found that I did miss reading a couple of them !

Thanks Swathi, I don't think I could write about Jai/Bani in term of just romance and so have written when you certain word/words or something that you see make you think about how life is in the world so far removed the western life. It just makes the SS more interesting to write.
