Jai and Bani enter the restaurant and sees massi waiting for them. Now massi is shocked to see Jai with Bani as she had met her just two three times before in the office and she had liked the girl and often thought that she would be a good girl for her munna but she was too young for him.

Jai: holding Bani closer to him Hey massi how did the appointment go?
Bani: Namasthe massi
Massi: Oh the usual. Well well you really know to surprise everyone. I had always longed for someone like her come and sit here. She makes Bani sit next to her. Bani is finding this entire situation slightly nervous.
Jai sits opposite to massi and bani. When massi suddenly remembers that she has a packet for bani
Massi: Jai I forgot a packet in the car please can you get it for me it's a gift for your fianc.
Jai sure may be in the meantime you can order.
Massi: what should we order for you?
Jai: Bani knows just order the usual and leaves.
Massi: so you have come here before with him.
Bani: Coming out of her daze. Ahem yes three four times so shall we order what will you have massi. Massi wanted to have something fried but than Bani asked if the doctor had allowed her such diet.
Massi: Please don't start like Jai telling me what to eat and I already get that enough form him. Today I want to celebrate so I am allowed a little indulgence and I have got permission for that from the Doctor if you want you can check with him.
Bani thinking to herself are everyone in family used to charm their way to get things.
Massi: What are you thinking?
Bani: Nothing but still I feel massi we should go on a lighter diet even Jai prefers that way or he says he will doze of in his afternoon meetings.
Massi: You seem to know a lot about him
Bani: I am with him the whole day in office for the past one year so naturally I would know most of his likes and dislikes.Adi uncle says by judging his face or the way he looks I can tell in what mood he is.
Massi: No wonder he has chosen you as his wife.
Hearing the word wife Bani chokes on her glass of water. Bani thinks to herself why do I have a feeling this is heading for a disaster. She has to talk with Mr. Walia about massi or this entire situation would go out of hand and they continue with their chat about Bani's parents and sister when Jai joins them.
Jai: I hope this is the packet you wanted and hands massi the packet.
Massi opens out and Bani sees a jewelry box.
Massi says I want you to wear this from now on and takes out two bangles and says these bangles belonged to Jai's mother my sister they were given to her by Jai's grandmother. Before her death she had given it to give it to Jai's wife. Welcome to my family and takes banis hand to put the bangles
Bani: was now looking at Jai as to what to do, she was feeling guilty of deceiving and old lady like massi.
Jai: Come on Bani take it massi is giving it with so much of love and affection. By the way I have a surprise for you. The appointment with the designer has come through so tomorrow you will be going for the fittings for the engagement party's dress I will send the car to pick you up tomorrow.
Massi: why does she have to stay alone in that flat? I think may be by evening she can move to the guest house attached to the compound. I will have Tony cleared everything.
Bani was trying to tell Jai no but then Jai just said massi as you wish she felt like stamping Jai's foot below the table. They continued having their lunch while massi talked about Jai's fetes as a kid and enquired Bani how she completed her studies. Bani were now really tensed up that she couldn't even enjoy her favorite food.
Massi: Finally munna had the sense to get married to a sensible girl. I really thought I would be getting one of those dumb witted girls for a bahu.
Jai: What massi but you never said anything about all that in these years now you are being critical of my behavior in front of my own fianc?
Massi: I knew even if I tried stopping you it would be of no use. There is no harm in testing the waters before you plunge in a life time commitment. By the way Bani is Jai your first love.
Bani just chocked on her food and started coughing Jai could not help laughing and handed Bani a glass of water and asked her to drink it slowly.
Jai: Stop embarrassing her like this massi you are not going to have that twenty question round with her and find the score if she is good for me or not.
Massi: I don't require all that I can see Bani will be the best bahu I can get and she would be the one to keep you in line turns towards Bani and asks her. Why bani you are not having the food come on. Any ways I am through what would you both like to have for dessert as Bani didn't order any desert?
Jai: Well Bani likes' strawberry cheese cake so may be we can both share that.
Now the fork fell from Bani's hand and she started mumbling sorry and was giving her dagger looks at Jai. Jai sat there smiling at Bani. Looking at both of them Massi
Massi: Oh you want to sit with your fianc and enjoy the desert without interruption fine by me. Any ways I just want to go and meet the manager as I had asked if the chef could prepare something special for tomorrows gathering in the house.
Jai orders the cheese cake and goes to sit along with bani and massi goes to talk to the manager
Bani: Don't you think this act is going a little over board.
Jai: Bani we have to look like couples who are in love and going to be engaged in two days time.
Bani: I know that but the gifts designer outfit this is all getting too much.
Jai: Relax Bani and just go with the flow come on now have the cheese cake you haven't eaten anything.
Bani: What was that crack about we sharing the cheese cake.
Jai: That was to get massi away for some time as I felt you would blow your top any time now.
Bani: blow my top God I knew this was a mistake from the beginning why do I always fall for anything that you ask me to do.
Jai: Well that is the way Jai walia is. No one can resist his charm and gives a lazy smile at her. That did it Bani was now at her limits and tried to hit Jai with the fork in her hand but Jai had seen that coming and caught hold of her hand which made bani loose her balance and she was being held by Jai and slowly he took the fork out of her hand. Slowly whispering into her ears Now Bani we don't want a scene here. Slowly he started arranging her scarf that had come off just then massi enters.

Massi: Come on now Jai beta you can have your romance at a
Place which is more private rather than a restaurant. This comment had made bani blush also the way now Jai was holding her close to him. She was wearing a sleeveless top and Jai was tracing his fingers lightly on her arm which was already giving her goose bumps and on top of it massi's comment made her shy and blushes.

Jai: Doesn't she look beautiful when she blushes. Now Bani thought it was pay back time and moved closer to jai that practically she was in his lap. Sweetly looked up with her cute smile and said I think we will pack the cheese cake and have it in the office.
Jai knew when he was challenged and said why not anything you say and gave light peck on the check which now had Bani blushing to the roots.

Massi: I think you both better make a move now or the whole restaurant would be enjoying a romantic drama unfold here. By the way I want to make Bani's kundali to decide the date for the marriage.

Jai: Laughingly what's the hurry massi? You have waited so long Let us enjoy being engaged for a while.

Massi: I have heard enough excuses for a life time now you are going to do it my way the Pundit Ji is coming this evening and you are to help Bani move to the guest house also.
Jai Yes massi.

After Massi left
Jai: Wow it went great didn't it
Bani just kept looking at him.
Jai: So do you want to have the cheese cake here or in the office.
Bani didn't want to see him again in the office so said we will have it from here itself.
Jai takes the spoon and gives it to her. She is about to take a bite then Jai just grabs her hand and diverts the spoon into his mouth. And says Wow this is really rich How come you eat all this and remain so slim and trim.

Bani was now really confused with his behavior. But anyways she answered him
I have got a tyrant for a boss who makes me work almost 14 hours a day that even if I eat three meals of Strawberry cheese cake it wouldn't make a difference.
Jai: Now it was his turn to get surprised. Well I never knew that I was such a feared person we have to do something about that.
Bani now looking mischievously in to his eyes: What do you have in mind?
Jai sees that the cake has smeared on her lips and wipes it off with his finger that's better you know you have got the most beautiful eyes they are like sea you can drown in them.
Bani: Well nice try to get out of the image of tyrant but you will have to do something more than just talk.
Jai: Ok. Fine I shall drop you now at home take the afternoon off and we will meet in the evening at my house so ready to move into my world.
Bani: I guess so.
Jai just talks to the manager and leaves with Bani.


Later in the evening Bani has moved into the guest house and massi has come with the pundit ji and Jai joins them shortly later.

Jai: Massi what's going on here? Bani all settled and goes and sits with her on the sofa and brings her closer to him. Bani is finding the whole situation uncomfortable. But Jai is very much at ease and feels he is on the top of the world as he ahs got the final arrangements for the engagement party done up.
Massi: What else looking for the muhurath to get you both married in the shortest period of time? And is this the time to come and see that if Bani has settled in.
Jai: Massi aap bhi na why the hurry.
Just then Pundit ji interrupts and says As per their stars there is a muhurath after three weeks or else they will have to wait for another 7 months more.

Jai: Fine we will get married after 7 months.
Massi: No way Punditji we will have the wedding in three weeks. Please I want the pooja to be done in the house before that and the wedding will take place in our Family haveli and the temple associated with this I have already contacted the care taker of the Haveli.
Jai: Massi when did all this happen
Bani was just looking from Jai to Massi and thinking Oh god now I have really put myself into a mess I should have listened to my instincts instead I Went along with Mr. Walia's plan now how is he going to get out of this.
Massi: turning towards Bani Why are you so quiet? I hope you have no objections like Jai. I can't understand this generation they like getting engaged but at the mention of marriage they get cold feet. So you both reorganize yourself and be there for the wedding don't worry about the arrangements I will handle that.
Jai: Massi doctor has asked you not to stress too much. Please massi think about it Bani's sister also is there. She is in the middle of the semester

Massi: No excuses And Bani's sister is not at the end of another world just Delhi it is just about one hours flight please so now no excuses and leaves with the pundit ji. Rano can come for a weekend I am sure. Well now try to get Bani settled in and may be you both could have a quiet dinner here I shall send Tony here. And leaves with the Pundit ji.

Both Jai and Bani stand up like as though a tornado has hit and they are lost.

I have just updated Chapter 4 and thank you for all the encouraging comments in the next chapter Jai blackmails Bani. So we get to see a lot of exchange on words between the two. Hope you will enjoy it.
