Chapter 2

Jai: Are you both gone nuts? Of all the solutions Tarun this is the stupidest one I have heard. Don't get me wrong but I feel its best you stuck to your law practice.
Adi: Now what is wrong with her? Admitted she isn't the glamorous kind you date.
Jai: Adi where are your brains? Have you looked at Bani? She is just a little girl my god she must be what 18 or 19. Moreover I am her employer.
Tarun: God try to think logically before you go overboard. Bain has been working with you for the past nine months and you haven't been dating any one seriously during this time except may be for Pia in the last month. We can't have somebody out of no where and present as your fianc.
Adi: Listen to Tarun Bani is the best we have got provided she agrees to it. Moreover others would also believe it.
Jai: Now why are you so confident about that?
Adi: Looks at tarun then says For starters you both are seen together most of the time. She accompanies you on most of the business trips within the country and don't forget the London trip also.
Jai: They were all business trips and there were others also along with her in case that has slipped out of your mind.
Adi: Ya we all know about that.
Jai: Why do I get the feeling that there is something I'm not able to get a hold about.
Adi: Well if you want me to spell it out for you. It's a common talk in the office that you have how shall I put it
Jai: Out with it Adi and when did office gossip seem to hold you interest.
Adi: For one I was the one who appointed Bani in this office as my assistant but then one week she was your temporary staff in handling that Pune project then she has never reported to me. The most important thing is that she is the only person you don't give orders left and right and tell me how many people on your staff you entertain with lunch and dinner.
Tarun: Hey Adi all this is news to me yaar. When did Jai start taking interest in Bani and here I thinking how to make others believe our story
Adi: That is the least of our worries.
Jai was too stunned to give any response on hearing Adi: Adi and Tarun you both better get out of this office or I will surely punch you both on the face.

Just then the phone rings and its Bani on the line.
Jai: Now what?
Bani: Sorry to disturb you sir. But Massi is on the other line and she wants to when are you going to collect her from the doctor and she also said she is waiting to see your fianc and enquired if I know anything about her
Jai: Just tell massi I will call her back in ten minutes or better ask her to give me a call when she finishes her check up and the fianc thing just make up something as usual.
Bani: You want me to lie to massi.
Jai: Bani you are good with people and you know exactly what the other person wants to hear.
Bani: Mr. Walia shall I book a table at massi's favorite restaurant for lunch.
Jai: Starts laughing Bani you really are something I believe this is best idea I have heard since morning and keeps the phone down.
Turns around and sees Adi and Tarun gaping at him.
Adi: It was Bani on the line
Jai: So
Tarun: Well if one phone call can make so much of a difference I can tell getting married to her would definitely be good for you not the least to say also the people associated with you. I'm leaving I have had enough of surprises for one morning. Murmurs Jai and bani and leaves
Jai: Adi one of these days I will blow up Tarun's face
Adi: You can blow up his face after you cover up this mess. Think about what we said before you say out right no.

Adi and Tarun steps out of the office.

Bani: how did it go?
Adi: Well the usual way
Bani: so no luck. Want me to help you all out.
Adi: Rather you could save Jai himself so our lives would be easier.
Bani were looking at Adi and Tarun confused.
Tarun: If Jai call s you to discuss something just keep an open mind and hear him out and leaves immediately.
Bani: What is wrong with everyone in the office today? All of them seem to be talking in cryptic clues.
Adi: I'm sure you will work it out by the end of the day.
Bani: God it looks like I have joined a circus rather than and office Mr. Walia being the ring master.

Meanwhile
Jai is all alone in his office and keeps thinking about what Adi and Tarun said. He thinks of how Adi had suggested Bani's name to join his team as a temporary staff as the sectary who knew French had taken ill and they had some people from France coming over to overview the project. From then on Jai found that she was well organized and knew her work very well and she didn't tolerate nonsense from people and was very discreet. Moreover she wasn't like the woman whom he came across or the other sectaries who were always trying to capture his attention. Her simplicity and innocence in her was the reason he felt that she had to be taken care of.
God why am I thinking about all this. Just then Bani knocks and enters. She presents a few files for him to sign.

Jai: when have you fixed the appointment for lunch may you could join us.

Bani: I don't think so lunch is at 1o clock and massi has requested you to bring your fianc also along.

Jai: What? God this mess is getting bigger.
Bani was just staring at Jai's reaction.

Jai: Bani this fianc thing will not work out
Bani : Why Mr.Walia
Jai: Well that is a long story in short my fianc thought that getting married was not a good option compared to her career growth.
Bani: Well that's sad. I guess family should always come first. Well it's good that you both realized it before you got married. So what is the problem now? Many of them break their engagements.
Jai goes to explain the surprise party, the press conference his massi's wish when she had a heart attack and now she is again going to be disappointed and how he would become the laughing stalk and how his fianc would capitalize on this entire publicity stunt.
Bani: Well that's unfair. But we must believe that everything happens for our own good and that some one would be there for you also. May be I could help in clearing up things regarding the party and press
Jai: Well may be you could help me more than that.
Bani: How?
Jai: first he was hesitant to say it but finally he said it We both could get engaged. It would solve all the problems

Now it was Bani's turn to get shocked

Superb part. Loved it. Tarun and Adi are such good friends. They really have come up with a very good plan and Bani being the sweet caring , goody two shoes will definitely say yes. She has too.

Our Jai already likes her but doesnot know it yet.
