Chapter 23

Jai stood there surprised by Bani's actions. Thinking to himself what is she up to now. He goes to the garage and next to the drivers seat he sees a rose with a message and read it out
My love, get ready for the biggest surprise of the day. You are to follow each and every step as mentioned to reach me to night.
Jai to himself. God Bani you are going to pay for this torment. The first one was he had to collect a packet which contained desert from the kitchen then to his hotel were he had to go to the florist and the sweet shop. From there he would get the route to the final destination.
Jai to himself: Bani I never knew you were this crazy but any ways anything for you sweet heart and surely I am going to find out who all helped you to pull this thing. Then it's going to be pay back time for everyone for putting me through this I swear.

Jai does as per Bani's instructions were finally he comes to know that he has to drive down the high way to some beach side property away from the city limits and it was drizzling slightly. Now Jai was worried did Bani drive all this way alone during the night if so she is going to get a piece of my mind. Finally Bani reaches a cottage house which was well lit but as for neighbours there didn't seem to be any one and if you stood in the veranda you can see for miles together and on one side was the beach. Slowly Jai walked up. He noticed there was no car in the drive way that means Bani was dropped by someone. At first look he felt the cottage was small but as he moved in he realiazed it had all the luxury and the interiors of the room were done in Italian style. He moved to the kitchen to keep the packet and the desert into he fridge when he noticed the fridge was well stocked. How long does she plan to stay here? Must find where she is. He walks up the stairs and sees a door slightly left open which is lit by candles and from the window you can see the sea it was soothing view. Jai felt like he had landed into one of the romantic settings. With wine kept for chilling candle light the room smelled of wild lilies next to the wine walk down the hall pass the study then through the patio cross the pool area to the glass house you will find the love of your life there.
Jai was following her path with a glass and wine bottle in hand when the study door was left wide open and fully lit for him to see. Jai felt as though he was seeing his past in this room. He just closed his eyes so as to just make things disappear. The room held all the moments of Jai's life framed in different photographs. His first medal, the singing competition the passing out his graduation his first successful business venture, His photo with his mother just before her death all his minor to major mile stones in his life was covered up in the room. He went close to each and every photograph trying to gather the moments in his life before Bani came and Jai sat down there for a while but came back to reality when he heard the same English ballad being played by Bani soon he walked to the glass house. Where he saw Bani surrounded by her favorite orchids and roses she sat to play the piano. She looked like an angel sent from heaven just for him in the white dress with her hair down. Jai was so mesmerized by everything that he just kept looking at her.

Bani: How is my surprise?
He covered the distance between them with three long strides and pulled her into his arms. Bani I don't know were I would be with out you my beloved.
Bani thought he would say that he loved her but nothing like that came from him instead he felt him grieving about his past.
Bani: I thought it would make you happy to see all the wonderful achievements you have made in life but looks like it didn't work.
Jai: Its not that it is just that I was so God Bani I just don't know how you always make me feel I can never express in words. This is so bad Jai Walia who can make a break through in all his business meetings and in any adverse situation doesn't know how to express himself in front of his wife.
Bani: Oh no you don't have to say it Jai I can see it in your eyes.
Jai: Is that so.
Bani: Yes and I love you and goes and hugs him tightly.
Jai: Bani just tell me how many people you pulled into this to make this happen.
Bani: Why?
Jai: You can't do this yourself Bani.
Bani: Well that is what family is for.
Jai: You mean to say everyone in the house had cooked this up and kept it a secret. How long has this planning being going on.
Bani: You tell me as you are the observant one.
Jai: God stop making me guess this is like being in ones on dream.
Bani: Good you have to shaken up a little.
And then Bani goes to explain how she pulled this thing.
Jai: So are the surprises over then I have some other things to do as half the night is already over.
Bani knew where his interest was now.
Bani: Jai you have got a one track mind and please stop the cave man tactics.
Jai: You never objected to it before so why now.
Bani: Well I have my reasons now.
Jai: Out with it Bani stop playing games.
Bani: O.K. tell me what you feel about parent hood.
Jai; is this in general or I have to be specific.
Bani: Can't you answer a simple question.
Jai: Well if my wife takes so long to disclose that she is pregnant then I too can play along don't you think so.
Bani was now shocked: how did you know that I was pregnant I myself got it confirmed from the doctor only two days ago.
Jai Sweet heart now don't get upset that I spoiled the biggest surprise of the evening.
Bani: How come you know about me everything before I tell you? Now don't say you could read it in my eyes that I was pregnant please.
Jai: For a woman you can be so nave at times.
Bani: How so?
Jai: Well as to how I know that you are pregnant. Going close to her and arranging the straps of her dress for the past one week My wife who can't get out of bed without the coffee first thing in the morning cannot stand the smell of it as she feels like throwing up, then you tend to doze of in the afternoon because the whole morning you just survive on crackers and lime juice, then you didn't have your monthly cycle, Slowly moving down the straps of her dress you are more sensitive now especially…..Bani felt she has heard enough of Jai's reason.
Bani: God I never knew it I was such a dead give away. So now the whole family must have guessed it.
Jai: well that I can guarantee you no one knows that.
Bani: Why are you so sure?
Jai: Bani forget about all that and tell me how many weeks pregnant are you
Bani: About nine weeks after two weeks the doctor has asked to come for scanning.
Jai: thinking to the possibility of when they would have conceived. God don't tell me the child was conceived by my stunt that night in the car.
Bani: Well it could be a possibility. But my husband did keep me busy all night. As the following days we were traveling.
Jai: Keeping the hand on her stomach. So when do we announce
Bani: After the scanning. You never told me how you feel about becoming a father.
Jai: Do I have to tell you God today you have made me the happiest man alive and this is the best birthday in all the 38 years of my life I just can't wait for my next birthday to see what surprise you are going to have for me.
Bani: What you want surprises for all your birthdays Jai You are becoming greedy
Jai: I'm allowed to be selfish Just then the darkened sky lit up with a sheet of lightning a loud clap of thunder only a second behind.
Jai: Looks like nature too is celebrating out happiness. It's going to pour down any minute I think we should get back to the house though I know you love to watch the rain.
Bani: Come on Jai live a little I want to watch the rain from here sitting on your lap.
Jai: aren't you through tormenting me this night. Any ways come here and bring that glass of wine too. If I have to sit and watch this wine would help me.
Bani: My poor husband.
Jai just took the glass from Bani's hand and pulled her onto his lap and sat on the bench covered with cushions in the glass house and they could see the rain falling on the glass roof. He just looked into the eyes of his wife and then he couldn't just resist so he kept the glass aside and cupped Bani's face and kissed her gently with all the love he had to give her but couldn't just express it in words to her.
Jai: I think we can dispense with this don't you? He murmured undoing the sash of the robe.
Bani's head spun as he slowly pushed it back off her shoulders and started trailing kisses were his finger were drawing patterns on her body. Bani just leaned back against him in blissful surrender.
Jai: What are you thinking?
Bani: About you
Jai: what's there to think so much to think about me taking the glass of wine?
Bani: I think the rain has stopped Jai the sudden moment caused the wine to spill on to Bani.
Jai: I hate wasting the wine and leaned forward to ……… (Rest I leave it for your imagination) It was after a while when they retired to the house)

Bani stirred to the sound of thunder the next day and woke slowly out of a deep haze of sleep she yawned and stretched. She was reliving every delicious moment in her mind when Jai walked in with the break fast tray.
Jai: I don't want my pregnant wife to feel starved?
Bani just got up from the bed pulling the covers along with her.
Jai; I still don't understand why you try to be modest around me when there isn't an inch in your body that I am not familiar with.
Bani: It's just to stop your cave men tactics.
Jai: What
Bani: My husband had got too much appetite that I don't want to be the first thing he has in the morning.
Later they enjoyed the spa bath and desert what Jai had brought last night. They left in the evening towards Bombay.
Jai: ready to join the civilization.
Bani: you know I am getting used to this get ways we have.
Jai: Say what we plan this once in three months.
Bani: You know how to impress women.
Jai: Well I have had years of experience compare to you.
Bani: Are you implying the fact that I am not worth it.
Jai: Bani please not another of your mood swings you keep this up the family will know that you are pregnant in no time.
Bani: I loose my temper only with you.
Jai: Ya we will see about that now.

Three days later Bani had just come down for breakfast. She had thrown up the whole dinner last night and today the crackers and lime juice also was not helping her. She was feeling miserable and today she had an important meeting with the new project.
Jai: Bani if you don't feel too well may be we can cancel the meeting.
Massi what happened to her.
Bani: Massi nothing much its just that I am feeling a bit tired as I threw up last nights dinner.
Massi: Jai you make Bani work too much.
Jai: what she only wants to do all the work and now I am getting blamed for it.
Bani: Well you can take up the blame for the present situation I am in.
Jai: wait just hold on now the whole night you have been complaining that I am responsible but very softly then just for Bani to hear let me just remind you that it takes two of us but Jai couldn't complete the sentence as Bani again ran to the nearest washroom and threw up just what she had started to eat.
Jai too rush behind her.
Massi: I think Jai I better call the doctor.
Jai: There is no need.
Massi: What do you mean by no need she is really sick? All you think about is the business meeting.
Jai: Massi its not what you think Bani isn't sick for God sake she's pregnant. That got everyone's attention to stand still.
Bani gave the look now see what you have done you just blurted it out.
Jai: sorry Bani I knew you wanted to surprise everyone but you are falling sick too often some one should take care of you.
Bani: Jai I am pregnant not invalid and goes up to the room
Jai: Massi was now giving him a look that she was going to eat his head up with questions.
Jai: please not now Massi I will call her doctor and see that she takes her medicine and diet. She would hardly listen to you all in this mood.
And just goes up to Bani.

Tarun and Adi who were seated at the table.
Adi: These two are of a kind. Didn't tell anyone they are going to be parents.
Massi: What is wrong with this Jai? He seems to have no problems with Bani and seems to be at so much of ease with her behavior.
Tarun: Didn't we tell you she makes him dance according to her tune.
Jigyasa: At least someone knows how to work upon my brother. I am really going to enjoy this for all the teasing he did when I was pregnant with Ranveer.
Adi: Jigyasa you are too much. I pity Jai.
Tarun: Somehow I know Jai will work his way around her and we are going to be in soup.

Well as Tarun predicted in the future we see that the Family has a hard time to put up with Bani were as Jai was enjoying every bit of moment he spent with Bani the mother of his kids.

I am posting another update as over the weekend I can't update

Chapter 24

Bani and Jai had gone for their first ultrasound and massi was anxious now as Bani was throwing up anything she had during any point of time of the day. She was basically reduced to taking fluids the other day the doctor had to administer and IV for her. The doctor said that it was good sign that the pregnancy is progressing well and most probably after three months she wouldn't feel sick so much.

Bani and Jai at the doctor. First they did the monitoring of the heart beat. The doctor said she had a surprise for them and she would show it to them in the ultra sound.

Doctor: Mr. Walia pointing to the screen your wife is expecting twins.
Jai and Bani was so shocked on hearing the news. But Bani came out of her Terence quickly and asked the doctor if everything is fine will she be alright.
Doctor: relax Bani. This much of tension isn't good for the baby. You are healthy and the uneasiness during pregnancy normally wears of after the third month. And the doctor went on to show both the babies they were just mere forms which both of them couldn't make out.
Doctor: After the 21st week you will be more clearly able to identify the baby. So our next scan will be in the 22nd week another 10weeks from no. I want Bani to take the iron and vitamin tablets and if she falls sick like before just get in touch with us we will do the IV again just to keep up the energy level but I want you to start taking food in small portions .

Bani Jai what are you thinking
Jai: sorry doctor I mean is it o.k. that Bani is quite young will she have problems for her delivery.
Doctor. In fact we normally recommend the age to become mothers as between 22 and 27 but a plus minus of two years doesn't make a difference. The only thing is towards the end Bani has to be extra careful so that she can take the babies to full term. Mostly the twins come in early and then they require special care. So we will be closely monitoring for any such cases. But please ensure Bani's diet as she is going to be eating for 3 people.

Jai: Thank you doctor and just one more thing ahem Jai was a little apprehensive to ask the doctor and Bani was wondering what is it that he wants to know now.
Doctor in fact guessed what Jai wanted to know.

Doctor: It is fine to have sexual intimacy but your wife would be a better judge of that. Incase she feels any discomfort then you are to be careful other wise there is no harm.
Bani was mad that of all the things he had to ask was this.
Afterwards in the car

Bani: Jai this is too much
Jai: What is too much?
Bani: of all the things is this all you had to ask the doctor. Your mind still works on that one track
Jai: Well I was worried that I would hurt you in some way I had to make sure moreover now that you are carrying twins we have to be extra cautious.
Bani: Well you can ask me that if you are hurting me instead of the doctor don't you think I would be a better judge of that.
Jai: He understood that Bani was mad not because she didn't enjoy the intimacy rather the doctor knowing about that.
Bani please sweet hearts don't get angry it is just that I don't want to hurt my babies.
Bani: When did the babies become more important than me?
Jai: God Bani Babies means including you. You would be the first woman to feel jealous of her babies
Bani: Its not that I am not jealous I was just upset with you questioning the doctor and I am not a baby.
Jai: Come on baby admit it you are jealous when my attention deviates from you but don't worry that will never happen and pulls her close to his chest while he drives on.
God help me how am I going to live with all of them hope I make a good father and husband.
Bani: Well I am there to take care of two so you have to take care of only one.
Jai: And that would be you am I right.
Bani: Of course any doubt

Finally the news was disclosed to the family that they were expecting twins and Jai took great care of the diet for Bani in less than three weeks Bani started to feel more better other than in the early mornings during the day what ever she had she could retain it in her system. Now she had started the work on making a nursery and also short listing nannies for the babies. Rano had come this week to visit Bani so now she was taking care of Bani's diet.

Rano: Di I think you should be eating more nutritious diet rather than hogging onthose chocolates and sweets.
Bani: Those foods make me throw up she was sitting with a full cup of cholcate mouse.
Rano: Di why don't you have the desert after having the rice and vegetables.
Bani: Rano haven't you been listening to things I have been telling you.
Rano: Di you are being totally unreasonable over the diet. Rano was at her wits end as Bani who didn't enjoy sweets much craved for it she loved to have milkshakes, desserts high on cholcate content, sweets another favorite of her' s was dry fruits. The moment she saw veggies on the platter she would make a face and escape having it altogether. The doctor had asked her totake diet which contains lot of Iron as she was becoming anemic.
Rano finally giving up: I just don't know how Jiju puts up with you di.
Bani: what do you mean by that?
Rano: Nothing are you going to eat this or just the desert.
Bani: I think I have made my self clear that what is in your hand makes me throw up so you can take the platter and go away.
Rano: Fine

Rano goes down with the plate. Massi on seeing that the food is untouched.
Massi: Why she didn't like it? I had personally made it according to her liking. The dal and the veggies.
Rano: Well she sat with the desert for the whole time and even refused to look into the plate.
Massi: May be I should have gone with it.
Dadi: Billu no use let Jai come and then she will have it.
Massi: But then it would be too late.
Rano: too late with the dessert di has had for I don't think she will be able to eat anything for the next two days.

Massi: Come on Rano Don't say that she is your sister and it's difficult and this is her first pregnancy.
Rano: Please massi everyone here treats di as though she is china doll and looks as though she is the first woman to get pregnant.
Anu walks in
Anu: So again mami hasn't had her dinner. I just don't get it when mamji can make her eat anything and everything at all why do you all have to go after mami.
Rano: Massi take it from me if me and di has to get along till my vacation is over its better that Jiju give her dinner
Jai hearing all the commotion walks in

Jai: now today what is the problem?
Massi: Bani didn't have the dinner.
Jai: Not that again. Please I have a house hold full of servants and very big family but till I come home my wife stays hungry. Can't anyone cook something she likes?
Rano: That's it Jiju your wife my di likes to hog on sweets and she unfolds a major dramas to have anything else and please its not that we didn't cook anything she keeps changing her mind ten times so please before you pass comments it would be best to check on the facts.
Jai: Looks like everyone is really pissed off today.
Adi and Tarun walk in and tarun comments.
Tarun: Today what's the drama
Rano really angry now: Well my sister is the drama artist and every member here dances here to her tune if I'm not out of here now sure I will go mad.
Adi: Jai what is wrong with Bani.
Jai: Nothing is wrong with her. None of you all can take care of her.
Adi: What? No denial your wife is very sweet and caring but of late she is a little what to say.
Now Jai is really mad and takes the plate from massis hand and goes to the bed room
Adi: I thought Jai was bad with his temper but Bani is equivalent to him and goes to have his drink with Tarun

After almost an hour Jai comes down and tells Tony to clear the plates from the room and tells him Bani would have the strawberry milk shake tonight. Before going to bed instead of the kesar milk.
Tarun: looks like Jai succeed were everyone failed.
Massi: Bani ate the whole thing. When Tony brings the empty plate

Jai was now really at the height of his bad mood: no I ate it.
Massi: I just asked because she was complaining of vomiting.
Jai: So what's new about that?
Rano and Anu just keep staring at Jai.
Rano was going up the stairs to talk to Bani when Jai stopped her. Bani has just gone for her shower.
Rano and Anu move to the other side of the room.
Rano: How does Jiju make her eat must go and check one day.
Anu: You go I see enough of romance between the two as it is.
Rano: What romance
Anu: The other day I was just walking into the study to check my mail as my computer was out of order the scene I just saw had me stuck up there.
Rano: why was jiju and di making out?
Anu: oh if it was that what is the surprise Mamji was reading out children's fairy tale for mami and he was talking to the baby it was a sight to behold. Anu describes bow Bani was seated in the couch on Jai's lap and he was massaging Bani's back and reading out the story to the babies and how he acted out each character of the story. By now most of them in the family had seen that after Anu mentioned it in the house hold.

Rano: I would love to see that
Anu: Don't let mamji catch hold of you watching them. And now I have to work on the design for the nursery hope your sister doesn't find any fault with this one or I'm telling you Rano this nursery won't be done up even after the babies are born.
Rano: Good luck.

Anu was doing the nursery ceiling and a separation wall in glass She was initially excited as the interior designer for the room was well known in Bombay and his works get published in magazines so he had promised seeing Anu's painting that he would give her references and the design she does for this room would d be published in the upcoming issue of the magazine. Actually it was Bani's idea and she felt over the moon over Bani's gesture but off late she was getting mad as Bani brought about so many changes and she herself didn't know were she was heading. The designer on top of it was always going along with mami which drove her all the more mad. Neither her father nor Jai was also of any help. They said she was her first customer and it would be a good experience to learn how to deal with clients. She felt like saying deal with clients my foot but what to do if it wasn't for Bani no one had taken her hobby for art work seriously.

Same things even happened in the office everyone was happy to work for Bani except of late she was too much of a perfectionist that the staff started commenting that she is worser than Jai Walia. With her sweet smile she would floor them to do the impossible. In fact Jai was commenting to Aditya and Tarun my staff's efficiency level has increased after Bani became pregnant.
Adi and Tarun felt like giving a piece of their mind as to how manipulative his wife had become but in a very sweet way and Jai closed his eyes to all her misgivings.

Next day in office
Bani: Pushkar that file was supposed to come to me last evening.
Pushkar: But you weren't there in office,
Bani: so you don't know the way to my house.
Pushkar: Jai sir would have my head if I brought the files home for you.
Bani: Now don't bring your Jai sir in to this if you didn't finish the work on the file just say so I don't mind.
Pushkar: Off late Bani you are impossible You want things well in advance and you confuse half the staff here but the file was ready last evening but a little too late.
Bani: Too late as in midnight
Pushkar: No as in 8 o clock. He felt embarrassed to admit to Bani he got delayed in his work and then they go on to discuss the project Bani is not very pleased with some of the things and she asks him to make a lot of changes and Pushkar is like God Pregnancy and hormones God please no one should have a boss who is pregnant.
Bani: sensing that Puskar is now going to blow up changes the mood of their conversation Now business can take a back seat offers a plate of pudding to Pushkar You know Jai specifically asked the chef of our new hotel to make it for me. With a smile on her face and lovingly gives it to him and tells him he can take his time to do up the file and she will help him out after the weekend but it do just a rough outline and keep. What ever anger he had evaporated at that instant
Pushkar: Bani really you are something No wonder the staff says you drive a hard bargain but it's worth it as you treat with lovely goodies and a killer smile.
Jai walks in hearing this.
Jai: Why is it that everyone keeps flirting with my wife and she is five months pregnant?
Pushkar: Jai sirs better keep your wife at home then on second thoughts no way and miss the entire racket she creates in office. We all look forward to come to office just to see Bani in her moods.
Jai: Bani what is going on here?
Bani: Very innocently I don't know.
Pushkar: Jai sir nice pudding God Bani hope you have lot of kids.
Jai: Ya I'm planning to have football team of my own.
Pushkar and Bani together what
Jai: winking at Pushkar just joking
Pushkar then excuses himself to work upon the file.

Jai goes and kisses Bani on her forehead and then on the tummy saying so how are my three babies doing today.
Bani: Now you found the time to enquire about us.
Jai: I had to clear all the appointment for the afternoon as Varun called saying that tomorrow's shoot he has changed it to today. Can you believe it he thinks I am one of his models.
Bani: Now we don't want papa getting upset. Goes and gives him a kiss on the lip.
Be a good sport and I will join you later in the afternoon as I want to take my nap and Ranveer wants me to meet up with that client of his.
Jai: So Lunch
Bani: Now please Jai I promise to have a healthy diet what ever Rano brings.
Jai: Sure or shall I wait.
Bani: Or on second thought may be we can eat at one of the restaurant I would love to have pasta.
Jai O.K. then let me call rano and say
When Jai called Rano she was mad because she had almost reached the office with the lunch pack to compensate for her effort Jai asked her also to join.
Rano: This is really going to cost you as I am going to order the most expensive dish on the menu.
Well Rano really felt like an outsider among the two of them as Jai fed Bani pasta from his plate.
Jai: Hey Rano well didn't you like the dish
Rano: No it's just that it's not what I thought.
Jai: If you don't like it Bani will have it she loves this. And you can order something else.
Rano: But then
Jai: Oh go ahead

Jai and Varun were discussing the shoot and a set of female and male models were sitting by the side of the lounge there was a pool to its side a fountain and garden the shoot would take place there but Jai was not comfortable with all the set up and what he was asked to do
Jai's mobile rings and he moves aside to answer the call just then Bani walks in with Ranveer and a personal assistant Sahil also is there as he wanted Jai to sign some papers.

Bani is wearing a short sleeveless dress with a deep v neck line showing her cleavage but it was a modest cut the dress fall really showed her curves. All in all even though she was pregnant she looked gorgeous the afternoon nap for half an hour and the natural glow during pregnancy had her glowing all over. On seeing Bani coming Varun felt relieved.
While the models just kept looking at her
Model: God whose this chick yar that to so cozy and friendly with Varun.
Model 1: She is drop dead gorgeous in spite of being pregnant
Model2: Must be one of the old models that worked with him
Model3: No way as they don't come with so many assistants and that to in a BMW. She isn't a model some hot shot.
Model 4: This shoot is definitely interesting must go meet her. Must find out who is the lucky husband. Hearing this

Model5 Tushar (son of Mohan Kahandewal) who is this new girl in town let me have a look and he is like Oh God Guys stop staring she is Jai Walia's wife Bani Walia.
Model 1: What isn't she too young for him?
Tushar: Tell that to Jai uncle and he will skin you alive.
Model 2: She looks more like his daughter.
Tushar: Stop drooling she is coming this way I think she recognized me.

They all turn into their best behavior and Bani is walking down to meet Tushar and Jai is watching this from a distance.

wow!!!! bani pregnancy tantrums are too good.

BTW why everyone has problem with J-B's age gap??? just keep all of them away...
