The next day went like a blur as there were so many last things to be taken care of and in the night they had planned to go for an early dinner. Jai invited Rano and Pushkar so that both of them would keep their emotions in control and more over it was his chance to be close with Bani as now he will not get a private moment with her. The dinner was in one of Bani's favorite joints and there was light music being played in the background.
Jai and Bani arrived together. Rano was coming with Pushkar as she had gone to see his mother this afternoon. Once they reached the restaurant they noticed that Rano and Pushkar had not arrived. They were shown to their usual table near a window in a corner away from the main area
Jai: Let me call Pushkar and find out what is taking them so long. He gets up and goes where the mobile works. Meanwhile Bani is looking out of the big window and seeing the fully lit street and the beach beyond it. It was a breath taking view but Bani couldn't just enjoy anything. Just then Jai comes and sits very close to her and whispers in her ears moving the lock of hair behind
Jai: Enjoying the view. Pushkar and Rano are in the parking lot. Still Bani was looking at the view with her back towards Jai and now he used the liberty to saying Relax Bani it's only a dinner and he puts a hand on her shoulder and rest his head there. Bani turns and is about to say something when she notices Pushkar and Rano coming in. Seeing Jai and Bani so close.
Rano: Oh god Yeh jiju bhi na kham phasa diya hai.
Pushkar: I don't understand why they require a buffer between them.
Rano: Simple they are both of the same temperament and they feel if a third person is there they can keep their emotions in check but ….Rano couldn't complete her sentence before Jai interrupted
Jai: are you both just going to stand and talk over there?
Rano: Didn't want to spoil your romantic moment
They go on to order for the dinner and Rano starts with her non stop chit chatter about her meeting with Pushkars mum and Seema. Meanwhile Jai is having a drink in his left hand and Bani was sitting to his right and his right hand was holding her close to him that practically Bani felt that she was sitting half on his lap and the dress she had worn was not helping as Jai continued to trace around her bare shoulder to her hand she felt like she was going to melt there and slowly unknowingly Bani's head started to rest on Jai's shoulder. Once they finished the first course Rano and Pushkar went on the dance floor to give them both some time to be alone. Jai finished his drink and out of the blue he asked shall we dance. Once they were on the dance floor Bani lost it completely. Jai was holding her so close that she could hardly breathe and then his hands were stoking her back and she could feel those eyes baring her soul so she tried to look away.
Jai: How long are you going to put up with this denial?
Bani: what
Jai: Don't be so naive what is that you feel when I come close to you, when I kiss you here and gives a slight peck on her shoulder.
Just then Rano sees this
Rano: Jiju if you wanted to have romance with your fianc you shouldn't have brought us.
Jai: Common its not everyday I get to treat my sister in law so its O.K. moreover I wouldn't be seeing you again for another six months from the way Bani says you hardly make trips between semesters. Finally Jai and Bani join them for the main course
Bani was not liking this one minute fine they were in a restaurant having a private dinner but Pushkar and Rano were watching them and this act of his showing that they were a perfect couple was killing her from inside as she was still trying to figure out why she could never say no to what ever Jai was doing to her. Was her marriage going to be like this always not knowing where they are heading?
Next day they left for the Haveli by the time everyone got settled it was past midnight and Bani found that having a family always helped but in her case it was becoming difficult to act in front of them that Jai and she were romantically involved but Jai was at ease. Thankfully for the drive down to the haveli Rano was with them in the car or she didn't know what would happen there.
Next day at the Sangeeth ceremony Bani felt that Jai was ignoring her but actually one look at her Jai couldn't just help pulling her into his arms and having his wild ways with her. But he did steal glances when she was not looking and everyone was teasing Bani for that. Finally in the night Jai notices that Bani is in the terrace and she is looking at the stars.
Jai comes from behind and hugs her and slowly trying to move his hand upward when Bani suddenly turns around.
Bani: Why do you always sneak on to me?
Jai: Who I no way I couldn't help noticing my bride counting her lucky stars for having a husband like me.
Bani: Dream on. I will make sure that you pay for all the misery you have put me through this week.
Jai: We will see that now can I see your mehendi.
Bani: No way after the way you first ignored me during the ceremony and then playing the hide and seek game.
Jai: I love your possessive streak. Now be a good girl and show me or I could persuade you in many ways.
Bani knew that was not a good option as if any one walked in on them there would be no end to the teasing as it is she has had enough. So slowly she holds her for him and kisses her hands slowly without spoiling the design.
Next day Massi comes in with the Pooja thali and sees that Bani is looking at her Mehendi and comments.
Massi: Oh your Mehendi has come out really Dark looks like my muuna is really in love and gives her blessings and gives her an idol of Ganapathis saying that hope it will help you through all your hard times.
Finally the wedding takes place. Seeing Bani in her Bridal wear Jai was mesmerized by her beauty and said my wife is looking absolutely gorgeous. In-between the Pheras and the chanting of the mantras Bani realizes that from now on her life is changed for ever she is going to be Mrs. Jai Walia. The wife of the wealthiest and most sought out bachelor but why did her heart still ache. It was everything a girl could dream for all her dreams were coming true she was having her fairy tale wedding, a family a secure future but was it because she was being a substitute for someone or she wanted to be loved for being Bani. What did Jai expect out of this marriage with her that was foremost on her mind? As night approached Bani started to get more jittery there was small reception finally she was shown to Jai's room.
Massi, Rano Anu had made Bani sit on the Bed with her gughant covering her face.
Rano: Now stop feeling shy, we all know how paly and cozy you are with jiju so you can stop the act.
Anu: Mamji is already here. They rally around him and don't allow him in the room they keep teasing him and Jai being a sport enjoyed all this while Bani was flaring up. Finally it's just both of them in the room.
Jai: Come on Bani like Rano said you are not going to go shy on me. And opens out the ghunghat. Jai sees that she has closed her eyes and he goes to kiss those eyes which have always held him captive. But he notices that Bani is withdrawing herself from him
Jai: Bani I know you didn't enter this marriage out of your will but I had forced you but we will be husband and wife in the true meaning when you are ready for it.
Bani: why all of a sudden this change when all along you have been waiting for me to be yours in every sense of the word.
Jai was now surprised as how Bani had finally worked that part out.
Bani: don't think I am not fully aware of what goes on in that head of yours. So tell me why now all of a sudden you have a conscious that what you had done was not right.
Jai: Bani Sarcasm doesn't suit you. For your information I never used force to get a woman into my bed. So Bani I am ready to wait till you can accept me as your husband in every sense of the word.
Bani: What if it doesn't work out?
Jai: When did you start thinking so negatively?
Bani: Well doesn't a girl want to know were she stood I her marriage.
Jai: Let me get this straight Bani you are married to me and be sure of one thing I have only given you time to adjust to the new life as I felt I had rushed you into things but you will always be mine and nothing will come in that way.
Jai leaves and goes to change to his night suit. Then Bani also changes but when she comes out she notices that Jai has already occupied the bed.
Bani: So now where do I sleep?
Jai: Here in the bed.
Bani: What? Had a change of mind already.
Jai: Bani don't try my patience. This Bed is huge we both can sleep in it comfortably and don't worry I am not going to have my wicked ways with you in the middle of the night. More over we have an early flight for the honeymoon. I too need my beauty sleep and switches off the light
Bani: Honeymoon. Nobody said anything about that and I haven't packed anything
Jai: Now stop that nagging a wife mode of your please Bani. All arrangements have been made and for once trust this husband of yours.
Bani: Talk about trust see where it has got me.
Jai: You keep that up and I know the best way to shut your mouth so what is it going to be.
Finally Bani switched off the light and goes to sleep at first she was having trouble to sleep but some where in the middle of the night she fell fast asleep.
