Part 8
Bani is still lying in bed thinking about the day she found out she was pregnant. At the time that they had left the Walia Mansion Rano was only about one and a half months pregnant. Everyone kept a close eye on her. I was about two months into their move to Mt. Abu. They had been living in the new house, the guys were working on their plans for the caf…the business aspects; while the girls worked on the interior decorations and menu's…that sort of thing. One day the girls were working in one of the rooms of the caf…rano was in the kitchen because it was done…she was making tea and snacks. Bani and Raashi were working in the room…painting. The guys were in the main room looking over some sort of business transactions. Pushkar had insisted that they not work today. Both Bani and Raashi weren't feeling to well because they had been working non-stop on the caf project. But they had insisted to at least paint this last room then they would rest. They are working with the paints and the paint fumes. All of a sudden Bani got dizzy and felt nauseous too. She figured it was the paint fumes and that she would go get some fresh air. She told Raashi that she would be right back. As she got up her whole world turned black and she fell. Raashi screamed and with that everyone came rushing in. Pushkar and Tarun were at her side in no time. Aditya was trying to stop Rano from having a panic attack. Raashi got up to go to Bani but she also fainted. Luckily Ranveer was there to break her fall…he caught her right in his arms. With the two of them passed out the guys and Rano were really worried. A few minutes later both Bani and Raashi came to their senses. Ranveer and Aditya had insisted that they go see a doctor. Both girls had refused because they figured it was the paint fumes that had gotten to them since they both passed out. However, these guys were relentless…they literally forced them to the hospital.
Once at the hospital Bani and Raashi were taken into the same room…it was partitioned of into two sections but they were still together. Banis feeling of nausea came back and she didn't feel right. After about an hour of running tests the doctor came back with the test results. (Keep in mind that everyone is outside; only Bani and Raashi are in the room)
B- Kya hua doctor…saab tik toh hai naa…
Dr- Haan bilkul saab tik hai..woh..
R- Kya doctor.
Dr- Aab main kya bolu…ummm…aap dono well…you r both pregnant.
B n R- WHAT?!
Dr- Ji…aap dono maa banne wale hai.
B- Lekin…doctor yeh kaise…
Dr- Lets see…ok Mrs. Walia aap ke pregnancy ke 3 mehene hogaye aur Mrs. Bali aapki pregnancy ke sirf ek mehene hue.
That's when reality sets in for her. Bani had realized in the past that she was late on her monthly cycle. However, she never paid too much attention to it. The first time she skipped it was because she was busy figuring out who was the father of Pias baby and she was really stressed. The next two times she skipped she didn't have it in her mind that she skipped three months in a row. She attributed it to the fact that they were under the stress of movng and dealing with the fall out of the biggest betrayal of her life. Never did she think she was pregnant. The doctor ahd told her it would take years b4 she was ready or able to conceive again. But obviously God had other plans. Bani was ecstatic. She thought that she would never have a child. She had left her husband and there was no way she could give away his right over her to another man. She could never let another man touch her the way that Jai had. She still loved Jai, with all her heart, but she couldn't forgive him. She placed a hand over her stomach and tears automatically rolled down her face. She looked over at Raashi who was also happy to tears. They got up and hugged each other and cried out of sheer joy. The doctor gave them some prescriptions and told them to be mindful of their health and no stress. The doctor congratulated them and left.
The door opened and the doctor rushed out because she had gotten a 911 page to pediatrics. The family outside were throwing questions at the doctor but she didn't stop. This is when Bani and Raashi decided to play a game/trick on everyone. They both came out of the room looking depressed and still crying.
P- Bani kya hua…tum tik toh ho naa?
(Silence)
Ranv- Raashi kya hua bolo naa…doctor ne kya kahaa?
(Silence)
Adi- Aare tum dono chup kyun ho?
Rano- Haan didi kuch to boliyeh.
B- Woh…doctor ne…
T- Kya doctor ne…
B- Woh doctor ne kahaa ke humare jo bemari hai uska koi ilaj nahin hai.
Everyone- KYA!?!?
T- Yeh kaise hosakta hai, ky abimari hai tum dono ko?
Ras- Woh…hum dono…hum dono…
Ranv- Tum dono chinta maat karo, hum ilaj karvaenge…jitney paise lag jaye.
Ras- Paise se kaam nahin hoga.
B- Haan…hum dono…hum dono…hum dono maa banne wale hai.
Adi- Koi baath nahin ilaj toh ….Kya…kya kahaa tum ne…
Ras- Haan papa…hum dono maa banne wale hai.
Ranv- Kya…(at Raashis side) saach Raashi…
Ras- Haan..saach
Rano- Lekin didi kaise…
B- Rano…im three months pregnant and Raashi is only one month.
P- Matlab ke tum theeno ek saath pregnant ho.
Ras- Aare humne toh yeh nahin socha…lekin haan…
There were tears and congratulations and hugs all around. They all went home and shared the news with Massi and Dadi who were thrilled at the prospect of more babies in the house. Adi Uncle called Anu and Rohit to inform then who were excited also. That night they all celebrated. They had a very nice dinner and games and it was fun.
Since they found out about their pregnancies they regretted telling the guys. The guys were hovering around them like they would break at any second. Working was off limits all the way…no house work either. It wasn't until they all and yes ALL went to the doctors and go the all clear to work…not heavy but some work never hurt anyone. The girls returned to decorating the caf and what not.
What was hilarious was when the girls had morning sickness…not necessarily in the morning. It was funny how when one started the other two followed right behind. Call it a special bond or whatever you will but it was priceless. Ranveer always rushed to Raashis side to help her. What was funny was Tarun and Pushkar. For the first two weeks after the pregnancies came out both Tarun and Pushkar rushed to aid Bani when she got sick. They both argued as to who got their first and who should be helping her. One time it got so bad that while they were arguing Bani was puking her guts out. They were undisturbed by this so Ranveer ended up coming to her aid as well as Ranos.
That night they sat down and talked it all out. Bani didn't need two helpers although she was grateful. Raashi had Ranveer and at this point Rano really didn't have anyone to help her. Pushkar argued that he would help Rano but Tarun then got to Bani. The girls had a really good laugh at their expence. That night it was decided that Ranveer would help Raashi, Tarun would help Rano and Pushkar would help Bani. Not everyone was happy but they decided to live with the decisions. It only lasted about a week. The house was a nut house that week. When Raashi threw up Ranveer would dash to help her, and Pushkar and Tarun did the same thing. One girl would be upstairs while her designated partner was downstairs and vice versa. In order to get to their partners the guys ended up running into each other, the wall and various pieces of furniture. It was finally decided that who ever was closest to the pregnant lady would help her out…didn't matter who it was. And they stuck to that schedule.
They guys really took care of the girls these past few months. Starting with dealing with morning sickness, to mood swings, to doctors appointments, to midnight cravings; they did it all. One night each girl got a different craving. Bani had craved pani puri, Rano wanted masala dosa with aachar and Raashi wanted chocolate chip peanut butter icecream. That night it was around 3am…they guys were stuck as to where they could get these things. They all bundled up and went in search of the required foods. Lucky for them they found one dhaba open where they got the pani puri and the masala dosa. Ranveer however returned empty handed and Raashi couldn't be any more furious. She stormed into their room and slammed the door. That night Ranveer ended up on the couch.
Bani had found out she was pregnant six months ago…now her and Rano were into their 7th months and Raashi was in her 5th month. How time had flew by. A tear fell from her eyes…she knew why but she didn't want to dwell on it. Bani placed a hand on her now round belly and said "Chalo…aab utne ka waqt hogaya…aaj mamma ko zyada pareshan maat karna"
With that Bani got out of bed and began to get ready to face the new day……….
