Silence…
…broken by Pia's shriek…
Pia: Nahi… tum jhooth bol rahi ho! NAHI YEH NAHI HO SAKTA!!
Pushkar holds her in his arms and she sobs into his chest. Dadi sits down in shock and Jigs, tears running down her face, goes to comfort her.
Pia: Pushkar isse kaho na! Theek se dekhe, voh meri Banidi nahin ho sakti, Di mujhe chod kar kabhi nahin jayengi… usse kaho na please Pushkar!!!
Pushkar fights the tears threatening to spill forth from his eyes and strokes his wife's hair, as she struggles against his hug.
Adi, voice quavering: Yeh… what… what do you mean "nahin bacha sake"… voh… aise kaise… nahin…
Ranveer: Aap please doctor se hamari baat karvaaye… aapne aise kaise kehdiya?!! We deserve an explanation!!!
Pia: Rano se mille bina voh kaise… kaise jaa sakti hai…
The news shatters Bani's family, but her husband has yet to react…

The voices around him sounded muffled and echoed, he couldn't hear anything else but the crystal clear echo in his head… "hum aapki biwi ko nahin bacha sake…"
Someone was shaking him, but he couldn't focus.
Adi, his hands on Jai's shoulders: Jai… JAI… tum kuch kehte kyun nahin?! Suna nahin nurse ne kya kaha? Bani…
Jai looks at his best friend in confusion… he heard it… but he felt like he was on one side of a very thick glass door and everyone else was on the other side… he wanted to lift his arms and open the door but they felt like they were tied down with weights.
Adi, shouts: JAI, BANI MAR CHUKI HAI!! Voh hum sab ko chhod ke chali gayi, TUMHE chhod ke chali gayi…!!
The thick glass shatters in his head and hot salty tears spill down Jai's cheeks. He staggers backwards hitting the wall behind him and sinks to the floor, his head in his hands.
Adi kneels down beside him crying, but Jai refuses to speak, refuses to move. Tears fall but he stares ahead expressionlessly. The only sign that shows he has heard what the nurse said are those tears.
He is snapped out of his daze by a shrieking Pia.
Pia: WHY THE HELL ARE YOU CRYING AAP HI KI VAJAH SE TOH HUA HAI YEH SAB!!!! AAPKO PAANE KE LIYE HI ROSHNI NE MERE DI KE SAATH AISA KIYA!!
Jai stands slowly to face her but before he can get a word in edgeways Pia pushes him backwards, and Adi quickly intervenes.
Pia: CHODO MUJHE!! USSI KI VAJAH SE MAINE APNI DI KO KHOYA HAI, APNI MAA JAISI BEHEN KO KHODIYA HAI!! MAIN AAP KO KABHIE MAAF NAHIN KAROONGI MR. WALIA SUNNA AAPNE, KABHI MAAF NAHIN KAROONGI!!
The nurse, standing uncomfortably to the side, unwilling to quiet them, does a double-take and looks at the chart in her hands.
Nurse: Er… Mr Walia?!
Jai, rubbing his eyes, taking a deep breath: Ji…
Nurse, anxiously: Aap ka naam Mr Walia hai?
Jai, blankly: Haan…
She checks the papers on the chart again, and looks back up at him, looks back at the chart and pales.
Adi: Kya hua Nurse…? Aap kuch bolti kyun nahin?
Nurse: Er… there… may have been… a mistake.
