Let me try to explain the way I have judged her character.
Anu is really an interesting character here. You can see the direct impact of the rift in married life of her parents. She is a child inside and also grown up girl who has dreams of her own like any other teenaged girl has.
From all the episodes I watched, and the way I saw how Ranveer reacted towards his father on couple of occasions, I guess, being the youngest kid, she is the last to see her parents discuss anything and come to common agreement, if at all she has seen.
By the time Anu was able to understand the surroundings, she is a witness to the broken marriage. Jigs no doubt loves her children and we have seen that she has respected some eldrers like Tauji and Maasi. But, being the youngest one and the time being the separation of parents, each of the parent have tried to deal with their broken marriage and during this phase, Anu has not got the attentionand cuddles of the parents that she desired to have.
As Anu grew, she was given the freedom to do what she wants and buy anything she likes, etc, but not guided or discussed about her fears, likings, and feelings.
So, naturally, she looks for comfort from anybody who talks to her with emotion and attachment like Bani did. She plays pranks with Dadi to fill the lacunae she experienced in her childhood, and Dadi also thinks that she is very childish and Dadi very easily gets down to the level Anu wants. After all, we have seen dadi to be a very nice, jovial, and youth-like adult.
But, if you see the way she interracted with the pundit, (questions, replies, facial expressions), she is absolutely normal teenage girl. Another incident was today when Bani questioned about Rohit's parents in front of Adi and Jai, she did not react. That is the direct impact of Jig's outburst "Bani has become so much more closer to you than me, go to her". She is still remembering her mother's words and that has hurt her a lot. She wanted to talk, but she did not react because she feels that she has hurt her mother's feelings by being close to Bani. But, when Adi asked her to give him a chance, she started coming out like a normal kid. So, she wanted attention and guidance of her parents and the love of the eldrers rather than freedom to do what she wants. She wanted a friend and a guide together, which she lacked so far.
If you look at Ranveer's character, he too is not all that bad. But, probably he has witnessed lot more between his parents for his agewhen his parents got divorced. He is been very close to his mom and so, he thinks anything his mom does his correct and he reciprocates to his mom's pain immediately with equal pain. I bet, if Jig's says do not stay with girls in the night, he will follow her orders immediately. He wants his mom to be happy in what ever way she feels happy. Sahil was also one confused guy, till he found the company of Ranu.
Hope I was able to make sense.
