Dear Friends,
Today a week has been completed of KS being over but then many of us have yet to leave the forum!! I see new posts and people commenting on them, surely like me many of you are checking it out as a daily habit.
Many of us had signed the petition to end KS including me than why are we unable to let it go? What is KS and what went wrong in the serial.
KS was a serial which brought silent romance into our lives. The man looked, the girl blushed our eyes could not have enough of them, she slept on his arm, getting up,she apologised, he raised his hand to stop her, pata nehi kitne bar dekhi thi mai woh scene, rewind kar kar ke.....she could not tie the dori of the blouse, he did it reluctantly first and then willingly later, we married women got blouses stitched so that our hubbies can tie them, kaisa blouse silati ho jo khud nehi bhand sakti, many girls complained later about their grumbling hubbies but then with lovelorn eyes we saw the romance of Jai & Bani on small screen.
Many of us wrote FFs, based on JB as we called them....we formed a faternity, good to be known as JBians....but then what went wrong.
The creatives did harakiri, they did not know how to use the platform that was given to them. Leaps after leaps, separations after separations they thought people will still watch the show waiting for JB to reunite. Many left, few stuck on, not in real love for the serial but for the love of JB, the faternity and the forum. In various FFs they found their JB. Creatives tried to marry off Bani to some other man, we kicked the man out after half the ceremony was over, they married Jai Walia to Meera, we became Meera haters...ultimately Meera had to leave, still the creatives failed to learn a lesson.
I have not seen another such active forum where so much creativity flowed, the banners, the video mixes, the competitions and of course the siggies. I only wish the creatives, the producer and the channel loved KS the way we did. Maybe today it would have been still on, running to the delight of many. I know every story has a life, I believe in that also but when KS ended the ending too left too many things unanswered, too many loose ends....it is sad to see a competent production house and channel failed to capitalised on the goldmine to the fullest called Kasamh Se!! Your thought friends, love Tin

Tin,
I so agree with you. I am on the forum daily out of habit and don't know what I will do when the forum ends too.
As for KS. It was my first Indian serial. I am not Indian and it was the first time seeing such a strong, intelligent, handsome, khadoos lead and such a chemically induced love story. I was hooked from the first engimatic, glaring vision of JW's grey eyes and RK's acting. I had 'not so reliable' satellite that constantly went down and eventually convinced my hubby to get ATN much to his dismay just to see KS and of course RK...since the buffering on some of the videos went on too long.
KS had such immense potential that it broke my heart to see what a disaster it became. As I soon learned Indian serials followed a formula and I didn't think that KS should have followed that formula. It was touted as a different kind of serial but eventually fell into the trap of laziness, uncreativity, boredom I don't know what on the part of the creatives and the production house who made it into one of their cookie cutter serials.
There were so many other ways that the storyline could have gone. KS didn't need an ONS between jiju and saali or the multiple marriages.
KS ended with too many loose ends. Even in the end the production house couldn't satisfy or even try to make the loyal viewers happy. I had hoped ala Dallas an American soap they would have made JW wake up and look around seeing PD who I will always think of as Bani coming out of the bathroom drying her hair... and telling her what a horrible nightmare he just woke up from. She would be in her ugly nightgowns that she wore during the first months of their marriage hence before the ugly ONS storyline and he would profess his love for her after living thru such an ugly nightmare....no loose ends for the uncreatives to tie up because they would never have happened.
Tin it's sad that the production house couldn't see the forest for the tree. The time for the forumlaic serial was coming to an end and new generation of viewers are tired of the same old crap being dished out on every single show. KS could have been something truly wonderful if the creatives realized that people now want to see positives in life as well as in entertainment not negativity and evil.

What Tin has said is true that everybody who is hooked to the KS forum has a soft romantic heart which beats for romanticism and delicate thoughts , subtle looks and enigmatic persona . We all in our own world have to face so many problems , hurdles, deadlines everyday both in our personal life and professional life. We also have our own sweet triumphs in both our worlds . So KS forum one such forum which had a common goal . We all felt young again when we looked through the eyes of Bani .We were again like teenagers experiencing our first love , crush. We forgot our own problems and deadlines for a while . Bani's greif was our greif , her shyness was ours . Kasam se was not a serial but it was a gateway to a world of romanticism which all of us miss in this busy world . So when Kasam se collapsed it was like a personal tragedy. It is sad that the creatives failed to understand us. A creative is one who knows the pulse of the viewers but alas the creatives were not creatives . They were destructives. we are all fools to have faith on them. Anyway I will continue coming to the forum like many others till the last member is there and last FF is on.
And It is my earnest request to all my friends to keep this platform alive and keep in touch through the forums. Together we can create many Bani and Jai stories.
And a request to Tin to start one more FF and keep the romance alive.

Tiny,

I have not watched the show for a log time now but I surely miss the JB we all so fell in love with.... We used mighty colorful language to curse the creatives for the storyline... But then all said and done I somehow find myself not wanting to blame them anymore.... The story went to the dogs a long time back without a doubt ... It is my personal opinion that the creatives are not allowed to work outside a certain set frame of the storyline... Since most of the shows churned out of K-factory are developed around the same framework.. There is no dearth of creativity but its not allowed to flourish and people are not allowed to think outside the box and imply their ideas until it fits into the set storyline of Man meets girl - love hate relationship and et al... I conclude this because these are the same people who gave us brilliant JB scenes that became their patent , not just romantic scenes but otherwise too... The other miostake that is time and again done is of length... The PH stretches the show way too much that the essence gets lost somewhere so much so that even brilliant set of actor are not able to garner viewers for it...

Prachi left and everything went down hill from there. Also the leap with the kids really brought the ratings down, with the original cast slowly disapperaring.

I think that it was Niveditha Basu and her so-called "creativeness" that was responsible for whatever happened to KS! After Sandip left, Ms Basu tried her best to break up JB and that horrible, horrible ONS! I don't know if Ms Basu had some ulterior motive but it was evident that she was not doing any good for KS!
When Ram and Roshni (Pia) were against this ONS plot, why didn't Ekta listen to them? She went with Ms Basu and tainted a beautiful love story!
When your characters stand strong, whether positive or negative, when they retain most of the traits we fell in love with, a serial has more of a chance of surviving. Jai, Bani, Pia, Rano, all these characters changed in the hands of the creatives and became people so different from how they started. There in lies the huge mistake of the creatives. They should have kept the characters as they started and moved the storyline in accordance to the characters' nature. But the creatives were so intent on seperating JB, prolonging negativity, bringing in useless characters that they forgot that the lifeline of KS was Jai and Bani !
But kudos to the Very Talented Actors/Actresses, that they managed to keep KS afloat even when the creatives went beserk! But come what may, KS is a serial which is close to my heart because firstly, I am a huge fan of Ram and secondly, there have been many beautiful, wonderful scenes in KS, great acting, inspite of the butchering of the creatives!
If something good has to come of this, then it would hopefully be that the creatives bring back our favourite actors/actresses in other serials, but this time learn from their previous mistakes! You need negative characters, but what you don't need is a never ending negative track, you need to tie up loose ends before you go to the next track, at all cost, do not bring in useless characters who don't do anything to further your serial and don't make the characters lose the very characteristics which the audience fell in love with. You also don't need to get the characters married multiple times, you don't need plastic surgery and if someone dies in the serial, keep them dead! Plus, it is possible to run a serial keeping your lead pair together, let them face troubled waters together! This "Together" is a concept that is so alien to Ekta and her creatives!!
Lastly, there is no need to drag a serial for years and years. Do a serial, start to finish, maybe for 2 years and keep the track going smoothly, not dragging!

yes, I agree with all you guys said....includes Tiny, Mala, Tushi, Suganthi, Jeenal and the rest of the posters. One good thing that happened with me watching the soap is making friends from all over the world. I will always thank the forum and the soap for this.
