Chapter 6

After the phone call Jai was in a daze.

He just kept thinking. Did I just agree to go for the show? That girl could drive any sane man's thoughts wild. Well he was experiencing it first hand that her smile had caught his attention and given him so many sleepless nights.

But he never went for those kinds of function, and now all of a sudden he appearing for this is going to have the family and not to forget the media who called him a recluse in social function having a ball time. He was lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice Adi walking in. Absent mindedly he gestured him to sit down. Adi as usual got down to the business mode.

Adi was talking about the projects financial details when he notices that Jai was somewhere else.

Adi: Jai are you even listening.

Jai: Oh when did you walk in?

Adi: What I have been here for like a few minutes and chatting away on the report and you heard nothing.

Jai: Oh I was thinking about something else.

Adi: Like what. That could capture the great business man of the year's attention.

Jai: What are you talking about? And stop the riddle cycle of yours.

Adi: Well first and foremost I have to congratulate you because you have been awarded the business man of the year award by the state government which I just got to know but as usual I now you wouldn't be interested in all that…

Jai: Good I was thinking what to tell her as she assumed I would come.

Adi: Did you just agree to her that you are coming. Wow I must go and congratulate her someone could actually talk you to doing things out of they way.

Adi: Oh so I have to be the bad guy. Tell some cock and bull story and inform about your inconvenience and make some good excuse.

Meanwhile Bani was enjoying her game of Snake and ladder with Pushkar Nattu and the kids. Massi walks in late into the evening to see them still playing.

Roshini I heard this weekend you are free fro your sectary Jai. May be we could have a look at the new resort that has come up.

Jai was looking for a way out when Adi just jumped at the opportunity.

After she left

Adi: Well Bani and Massi also came to know that you are free that evening.

Finally on the day of the show Bani was dressed early in the same dress Jai had gifted her with the bracelet and Massi had got her a matching necklace to it. And Adi a bag. She was looking gorgeous. All of a sudden form a little girl she was a woman a sight to behold with her sweet innocence. She could sweep anyone of the floor with no makeup just a lip gloss and her long hair left loose she looked truly like an angel.

Nattu and Pushkar on seeing her starts whistling

Massi: Now please don't start both of you all.

Adi was now hoping Jai turns up as you could never trust him. He could come with solid reasons for not turning up finally.

They reached don time but the show had started and Jai was no were in sight.

Nattu: Looks like my big bro finally decided to ditch us. Didn't I tell you? Bani was slightly disappointed but she was happy that she got to see her stars and Adi uncle promised to get her a private meeting with them and autographs.

But half way through the show they all got the shock of their life. Jai Walia had turned up and in fact the members of the organizing committee were at the venue and they were trying to get his attention. Jai called Adi but he wasn't picking the call just then he notices that he had come out to use the wash room. Jai excuse himself and follows Adi.

Adi: Jai you here the show has already started.

Jai: I know I just thought to make a silent appearance but looks like they got a whiff of it when my driver brought the car in and now please you only can handle them and were are they seated.

Adi was in a daze he said he will handle the rest and told him were Massi and rest of them were seated.

One of the members took Jai to Adi's seat and it was next to Bani.

Even in the dim light Jai could make out her. She was so engrossed in the show that she didn't realize that Adi had moved out and Jai had come and sat next to her. In between the show the stage gets dark with the sound of thunder and scary to show the villain appearing and just then Jai feels someone holding on to his arm and trying to hide her face . Jai didn't know how to react. Well her hold on him was tight that his blood had kind of stopped flowing. And mumbling something which Jai couldn't make out. He found that really funny Once the stage was bright he slowly said

Bani I think you wouldn't want to miss this. if you are going to sit like this how you are going to tell me what the whole ballet is about.

People from back just looked at her

Bani: sorry. When did you come and where is Adi uncle.

Jai: Slow down and we are causing a disturbance for others. So Bani turned aside and slowly moved towards Pushkar who was sitting next to her and kicked his leg.

Pushkar: Kya Bani

Bani: Hey quite don't want the ware wolf to get mad at you.

Pushkar: Kya. Whose name you can think in the middle of all this.

Bani: Well I just wanted to tell you I and Massi won the bet. So be ready with you payment.

Jai heard the conversation. So she was so confident that he would turn up that she made a bet with those two.

The show got over and they had a courtesy dinner for the VIPS along with it. Which the organizers were hoping Jai would attend. But Massi and Dadi couldn't stay long. And Pushkar with Nattu didn't want to be anywhere near Jai so they all left Poor Bani with Jai and Adi.

But she escaped answering that question as Jai was called to be photographed.

Promo: Jai gets a call from his lawyer he has to head to the office so Bani has to tag along with him while Adi has left for home.
