Chapter 25
This part is just to explain the gap into how Bani left India. More like a filler part.
She had gone to Massi for help when Jai had gone to London. But Massi had refused saying that Jai would never appreciate the interferance from her side and she was on her own. Massi also warned her this is what she was afraid off. In the end other people would take advantage of the situation and try to bring differences in their marriage. It was only Deb finally who came to her help. Pushkar was busy as his father was still recovering. And Nattu the less said better he was never a part of the buissness so he said now interferring would be like trying to go against his brother. And as it is his mother is waiting to get his brother chucked out. So he did not want to add oil to the fire.
So with Debs help Bani got to check on the tender details that's when something came to light Mohan had a huge amount of money transfered into his account. It was by fluke that they stumbled on to the information. Acutally one of the payment checks had bounced as there was no enough cash reserve in his account. And the payemnt for one of the paintings got held up. But two weeks later the amount was payed up in full.
It was a surprise as Mohan had asked for some time and now all of a sudden he had the money so they just went up to the bank to clarify that. That's when the transfer of a huge amount was found out. Then the investigation by the private detective hired by Deb to keep watch on Mohan came up with conclusive evidence Bani wanted to tell Jai about all this but he was away in London. And time was running out on him that the first tithing when she mentioned about Meera, itself Jai wasn't interested to hear her out.So she was on her own and confronting with Mohan that was not one of the brightest move she did. Meera sensing that their plans were going to be jeopardized. She knew her brother now he would flounder and all the work of theirs was going to go in pits. They would be out on the roads as Jai never forgave on people who cheated or went behind his back. Now she needed some diversion, to buy time for her brother and herself so they could make an escape. That's when she saw the car at the gate way and she just wanted to settle the score. So she got the mechanic to get the break line leak in the car which she came in.But as luck would have it. Deb had come to pick up Bani and the same car the driver had taken to pick up Jai. Which resulted in a disaster?On further police investigation it was found that some one had tampered with the breaks. And the whole story was out. How Meera and Mohan had caused disruption to the project. They were taken to custody and the tender got cancelled and a fresh tender was asked for which Jai won. But he lost his wife in the process.
More then his indifference it was the family's interference that had her running away. Jai still couldn't figure that out. As his Bani always fought for what she thought was his. Then why did she give up in the end. Why did she just choose to run away and leave him at the time when he wanted her most? She said she would be waiting. But she had left without a trace. That fateful night when Bani thought all her problems would get solved she got the shocking news of the accident and had come running to see Jai. But Massi stood in the way. She was in a different state of mind. She had never seen her Massi so distraught and vengeful. Bani just couldn't make out the old lady who always had a smiling face and warmth with such a bitter look and she had only some harsh things to say which left Bani with a broken heart. Massi: Are you happy now. What have you come here for? To see if he is dead then let me tell you he is still breathing and fighting for his life.Bani: What are saying Massi? My Jeet met with an accident and I have some good news for him too. He is not going to loose out. Trust me MassiMassi: Once I trusted you with my life and whole being. But then I should have realized that A Dixit can never be trusted. Like your father you too broke it.Bani: Massi why are you bringing my father into this. Look here these documents prove the culprits?.Massi: Oh still after the business. When will you learn that life is precious and it takes a lot to make it worth living? Just like your father even if you just wanted to wash your hands off then why Bani did you try to be the light in his life for a while. WhyBani: Massi what are you saying and what this is about my father now.Massi your father. Why not Bani? It all begins with him. I trusted him and waited for years for him to come back. But he fell in love with someone else. I accepted that fact. But then he came back again into my life I wanted to help him. But by then I had lost him completely. He had lost the reason to live. Just like my Munna is loosing the reason to live. I cannot allow this to happen the second time.Bani: Massi you are confusing yourself Massi what's happening to you. Why are you crying? Your Munna is going to be alright and everything is going to go back to the way it was.Massi: That's what I thought ages ago when your father came back with you. But no he could never love any another woman other than your mother. She left your father a broken man. The same way you have made my Munna too. I trusted you to be there for him. But all you did was break him. Bani: No massi never. I loved him.Massi: You loved him but all you brought was heart ache and today he is battling for his life. And all I can do is pray that he will be back and I can keep at least one promise. At least I can tell my Krishna that I could salvage her son's life if not give him the happiness and smile back which she wanted to see in her son.Bani: Massi I promise just let me see him once then your Munna is going to be fine.Massi: Never till my dying breath you will not show your face to him. I have been the reason for his misery now I will make the amends. You are not coming anywhere near him. Heard me that or you will see my dead face.Bani: Don't say things like that Massi. I'm your little girl.Massi: Yes I thought you were mine but you turned out to be just like your parents. Finally the blood showed its true color. You love a person and then kill them slowly. So Before I say anything more just go away and never show that face in future.The ferocity with which Massi said all that had Bani so shocked that she stood transfixed for a while and she just walked away like a zombie. She just couldn't figure out how things went so wrong in their life. Her Massi who loved her now found her to be the biggest thorn and mistake in her life. How did all this happen? None stood by her side. And she left that night form the hospital Deb was waiting for her down. But she refused the lift saying that she wanted to be alone that was. Deb sensing that she was not herself went behind her. Deb: No I will drop you homeBani: Home do you know home is were your heart is. And my heart is here in the four walls of the hospital and fighting for life. He will come back won't he?Deb: Come on Bani don't loose hope now. You have come this far and Jai loves you so he will understand.Bani: I just hope so I will be waiting just tell him that when you meet him. That when ever he wakes up he would find his Bani waiting for him. All he has to do is reach out.Deb: What are you trying to say Bani you are not making any sense and on top of it you are getting drenched get into the car and I will take you where ever you want to go?Bani: No I just want to be left alone for a while.Deb: Are you going to come back here in the morning then I shall pick you up.Bani: No first I have to set things right. Or else no one will forgive meDeb: you are not talking sense dear just let me take you home?Bani shouts at Deb: Can't you get it I don't want anyone always I have been the reason for everyone's down fall. What they said was the truth I am a bad omen in everyone's life all I bring is sadness to the people I love. So just stay away from me or you too are doomed. Saying so Bani just runs and gets into the taxi that had stopped across the road. Deb was transfixed as to what Bani had just said He had never seen her like that. But that was the last he saw of her.

Next day Bani had gone to office to clear up things with the board members but she was barred from there by Adi himself saying that it was not a good time to show herself what ever explanations she had it would have to wit till Jai was fine. Bani: But then it would be too late.Adi: Too late for what Bani. Jai is seriously injured and you think of saving the business when you should be with him.Bani: But then Massi.Adi: You know once you said jokingly that you would be the reason for his death. And I guess that is coming true. Bani: Adi uncle please I never wanted Jeet to get into trouble. Please understand.Adi: What's left to understand you made him into a laughing stock. He went to the extent to change for you but you couldn't even keep the person happy.I always thought you both complemented each other. But guess I was wrong. So just stay away. And as for the rest I guess things would work out on its own. As Jai has already set into motion lot of things. And he walks away to the board room Just then Jigyasa comes in her comment was the final nail in the coffinJigs: Bani you know something I always wanted to see my brother fall once in his life just to know what it is. But I never thought you would be the reason for it. Guess looks can be deceptive after all eh.Bani: Jigyasa diJigs: No Bani you lost that right yes I may have not liked my brother for many things but one thing I cannot deny he is the reason what we are today and just because of a chit of a girl he lost what has taken hi ages to build. So just stay out of our way.

Bani for the first time felt what it is to be truly lonely today no one was by her side. Yes she knew Jigyasa was not a strong supporter of her. But still her words hurt to the core and today she felt Massi's words did come true. So was she the reason for all this. Her love was not enough to keep them together. But yes she would wait for him to the last breath as she had no where to go and no one else to turn too.As she walked to the parking lot she felt giddy and asked the driver to take her to the hospital as she wanted to know if Jai was out of danger. The doctors were still keeping him under observation and Bani out of the prying eyes of the family tried to find out every detail. But by then due to exhaustion or what Bani fainted and the nurse at the station got her admitted and that day Bani go the news she was waiting all her life. She was pregnant.But she could only laugh at the irony of the situation as she wanted a family of her own all her life. When it was coming to a possibility she lost everything. Her only hope was Jeet.But she knew the family would never allowed her anywhere near him. She had made great mistake by thinking that family would stand by her side. They always looked upon Jai. He has been taking care of them for ages. And they could never forgive the person who had caused so much of turmoil in his life. ****************************************************************Her only hope was to wait and she went to Mt. Abu the place which held the best memories of her life but as days passed there was no news of Jai. And she started to get insecure as days went by why he hadn't at least tried to reach her out.Through the media she came to know that Jai has moved to London. So Bani left the country with out a word to anyone Just the way she had come into India. To the place were she could refer to as her other home Canada.

Jai was in a critical state and he was not in a conscious state for almost a month but he wanted to see Bani. And when ever he enquired of Bani all of them tried to avoid the topic as by now the family also didn't know where she was and they were trying to find her.But then things could not be kept hidden for too long. Jai was shocked when he came to know that Bani was missing through Deb and he gave a piece of his mind to Jai. But as fate would have it he had to go for further treatment to London. At first he was not willing as he had to find Bani. But Deb insisted he would not leave any stone unturned. But he was a bit too late when he came to know that she had already left Mt. Abu and the servants said she had gone to Bombay. But she wasn't there too. It was like going in circles and no one had the courage to tell Jai but then words were not required as by then Jai and felt something really a miss his Bani couldn't stay from him for so long So finally Jai came to know of his families meddling ways.Adi was the one to confess the way they treated her. Jai just had one word to say to themJai: Everyone says I am the cold hearted b**tard. But you all did surpass me.Adi: Jai we are sorry with all the happenings it was just too difficult to figure out what was wrong and right.Jai: It was not for you all to figure out. It was mine and Bani's you all did not have to do it for us. So now just keep away as you know Jai Pratap Walia has a very bad temper and he can turn things into ashes that come in his way. Adi: Jai..Jai: He just closed his eyes and raised his hand. I have wronged her so may it's my punishment so till I find and bring her back and she forgives me and you all don't expect me to be there for you all. Everyone wanted something from me all my life. She was the first to give me something and for a moment I failed to see it and now its gone. Adi leaves quietly from there and he knows today he lost his friend. Jai in his mind you said you would wait but where should I start looking Bani for once I just want to know that you are alright. I have wronged you but why did you leave without a word eh and there were tears falling from those eyes It took some time for family to realize the importance of Bani in Jai's life. And Bani had left without a trace. And before she left, she ensured things were back to the way it was. Except she was not there. Little did she know that her very own absence was enough to make all things go wrong. With that all this the family ties he had was gone in the wind. And he ceased to live. He had turned into a cold hearted person. Those cold grey eyes bore into everyone with only one feeling that was of hatred and no amount of apology granted forgiveness. Yes it never even shed a drop of tear it had all dried up by now. But again after twelve years its starting to get moist??????? So Jeet is going to meet his Pari and what will the meeting bring in that's for next week.
