Thank you all for the wonderful comments. I guess this Jai Walia is not so popular with the readers. But I just want the readers to appreciate the character that is portrayed he is not all that mean.
Yes I wanted him as a shrewd and very calculative man. But there is another shade to his character. He takes care of the wellbeing of every member of the family. The only thing is he doesn't like to be challenged and questioned on his authority. And some where when Massi didn't accept his proposal in the first place he felt threatened. Then he comes in contact with Bani in whom he feels he can see glimpses of himself. So then his next step is to make his side safe for that he goes after it till he has absolute control of it.
On personal level whatever feelings of love and emotions, he had got lost somewhere while growing up due to his mother's death, then his fathers philandering ways, His sister who was unapproachable, his step mother who only thought of him as thorn in her relationship with her son and husband, his half brother who always maintained a distance with him.
So in short all he had was Massi and his set of friends. But Massi in between her responsibilities towards the Dixit family, Bani her own failed marriage and not to forget the step daughter Karuna she too failed to realize the loneliness in Jai Walia. Though Massi saw him as her own son Jai could never feel the motherly love towards her.
At this point Bani enters as his wife. So after their marriage you get to see a different shade in him as the possessive husband. Now the question is will Bani's love and care help him over come all the insecurities and pain he endured in his life.
I just did a character sketch as I felt my Jai Walia was thought to be a villain of the story which wasn't my idea.
