hello friendss!!! i have the next part ready, dont worry i still did my homework and all (agar fail ho jaayenge to ghar se zyaada yahaan joote khaane ko milenge i know that😆) I just had some spare time. This is almost the last part, next will be an epi cos i promised myself that this SS will not exceed ten parts!!

Part 9

Aditya had been trying to call Jai for a long time. He and Bani had suddenly disappeared from the party. At first he thought they would be back in a moment, they just needed some time alone, but when the bride's mother started asking for her wedding planner he had the feeling that something was wrong. Bani would never leave her work like this and disappear. Her phone was switched off. Jai didn't pick up.
'Try again.' Jiyasa was looking over his shoulder and judging by her expression, she was getting worried too.

Its ringing. Aditya whispered, covering the mouthpiece of the phone.
Hello!! Jai!! Jai!! Aditya practically screamed when someone picked up. He moved to an open area with Jigyasa following him.
Jai! Are you there?!!'
'Hello.' Aditya heard an unknown voice. He looked at the dialled number to confirm whether he dialled the right number. Who is this? Where is the owner of this phone?'
'Mister, I am Doctor Shrivastava from Leela hospital. The owner of this phone is right now in our hospital. He has brought in a patient by the name of Bani Dixit and he is sitting in front of the Operation theatre right now for quite a while. He hasn't said a word. From his driver's licence in his pocket we got to know his name.''
'Hospital?!!' Aditya started to shiver. He looked for a while at his wife who turned pale in an instant. 'What happened?'
'Ms. Dixit had an accident. She is now being operated on.'
'We are coming right now. Just do me a favour doctor. Please take care of my brother-in-law?'
'That goes without saying Sir.'
Doctor, just one question. How is Bani? Will she be alright?'
'I cant say anything sir. From what I have heard from my colleagues, she is critical. Zindagi aur maut ka sawaal hai.'

Aditya ended the call and turned to his wife. Bani ka accident ho gaya hai. She is critical. Jai akela hai wahaan.

Lets go. Was her only answer.

Aditya moved to the rest of his family and as careful as possible informed them about Bani's accident. Everyone was ready to leave the party at once and rush to the hospital when Mausi suddenly stopped and walked off, leaving the rest behind. Aditya saw her stop in front of Mr. Dixit. He followed Mausi. Mausi tapped Mr. Dixit on his shoulder. When he turned around he had a scowl on his face.

'Aap ki beti hospital me hai, maut se lar rahi hai. Duwa kijiye yeh aapki us baat ki wajah se na ho warna mere parivaar se mai aap ko bacha nahin paaungi.' Mauis said.

Mr. Dixit was left behind in a daze. Mausi must have heard what transpired between him and his daughter. Aditya looked at Mausi in surprise but didn't ask anything. Instead he rushed to his car and along with his family drove off in full speed.

Jai. Jai. Mausi lightly patted him on his cheek in the hospital. He didn't respond. This time she called his name a bit louder. Jai looked up. His gaze lingered on her face for a while before his eyes turned expressionless again and he lowered his face.

Jai. Chalo, utho. Get cleaned up a bit.' Aditya tried to pull him up. Jai pushed his hand away. 'Jai you have blood on your face and your hands. Shirt bhi ganda hai.'
Jai didn't respond to any of them. His eyes were fixed on the doors through which they wheeled his Bani in.
'Rehne do isko. Let him be. Isko chain nahin aayega untill someone comes through that door. mausi said.

Hours later, it was well past midnight now, Bani was wheeled out. Jai surprised everyone when he remained seated. Only his eyes followed an unconscious Bani.
The doctor came to Jai and looked at his family. Aditya stepped forward. 'I am his brother-in-law. How is Bani doctor?'
'Abhi keh nahin sakte. Bahot berehmi se gari ke neeche kuchli gayi hai. not one but several times. Gaari reverse me jaa rahi thi and one side of the car ran over her legs. I guess the driver tried to take a left or right turn and then ran over her pelvis bone and her arm. Judging by the state of her clothes she got stuck to a part of the car and the car dragged her an end until the fabric of her clothes tore. She has wounds on her back, burn wounds on her arms and chest from heated parts in the car, and a big wound on the back of her head, until her neck. She has broken several bones and has internal bleeding jisko humne rokne ki koshish ki hai and we have treated the wound on her neck and head and her burn wounds. An orthopaedic surgeon performed surgery on her pelvis bone that has snapped like a twig by the weight of the car. Right now we have to think about keeping her alive. The rest we will have to do when we know that she can handle it. she had lost a lot of blood. And when she will wake up she will have a lot of pain. We hope she makes it true the night without internal bleeding.'
'Bani ko hosh kab aayega?' Mausi asked.
Kuch hi ghanto me. Hum usko doosre kamre me shift kar rahe hai.' The doctor spoke. Aap usse mil sakte hai, just be quiet and don't take too long okay. Her room is on the third floor, end of the hall.

The family murmured a soft 'thank you'. Aditya and Ranveer helped Jai stand on his feet. After the initial head rush he pushed the hands away and followed the rest of the family in a dazed state, to Bani's room in silence. Jai sat down in a chair in front of her room. Everyone understood he wasn't ready to see her yet. One by one they visited Bani, cried seeing her face bruised and her upper body covered in a special kind of foil for the burn wounds. Her legs and arms were in cast. Touching her fingers softly, Mausi and Jigyasa whispered to her to open her eyes soon. The rest stood next tot her bed looking at her from time to time and averting their eyes at other moments, to stop seeing her like this. The nurse came in and asked the visitors to leave. Aditya and Jigyasa argued with their children, Jai and Mausi to go home and come in the morning. After a while Mausi had to agree, only Jai didn't. He did not move, didn't utter a word and no words made an impact on him. He sat there like a statue.

Mausi, Ranveer, Anu and Sahil were about to leave when they saw a familiar person walk in the hall with someone behind him. Mr. Dixit and his wife were asking about a Ms. Dixit at the nurses' station. The nurse pointed in their way after asking how he was related to the patient. The words 'Her father.' Made Jai look up and he saw Mr. Dixit approach them, looking at them suspiciously.

Mr. Dixit stopped one of the doctors who was coming out of Bani's room and asked him about her condition. The doctor said most of the same things as he had said to the rest a while earlier, but he denied him access to Bani's room as she had enough visitors already.

'But I am her father.'

'Sorry mr. Dixit. Rules are rules.' The doctor left.

A sly smile appeared on Jai's face.

'Bahot jaldi yaad aayi aapko that you are her father.' Jai commented with a fierce look in his eyes.

Kya matlab hai tumhaara?' Mr. Dixit asked in a heated tone.

'kuch nahin.'Jai smiled. 'Party khatam ho gayi aapki? I'm sorry aapki employee ki tabiyat kuch theek nahin hai, she cant clean up for you right now. Waise aapki doosri betiyan kahan hai? Saath nahin laaye?'

Mr. Dixit grabbed his wife's hand and turned his back on Jai to walk away.

Jai stood up from his seat. 'What did you say to her? Kya kaha aapne?'

Mr. Dixit was turning around when he decided against it and tried t walk away again.
Dont you dare walk away from me Mr. Dixit!' Jai's voice boomed through the corridor. 'Bani ko taqleef pahuncha kar jee nahin bhara that you hurt her so much this time so your daughters wont find out that their perfect dad is such a horrible man! You don't want you daughters to see what you did to your eldest daughter! She is here because of you! You tried to kill her this time! It wasn't the car! You tried to kill her!'

'I did no such thing! It was an accident.' Mr. Dixit hissed.
' I know it was, but she fainted before she was got crushed. Behosh hone se pehle usne aapka naam liya. What did you say to her?' Jai demanded to know.

'Yeh meri aur Bani ke beech ki baat hai.' Mr. Dixit said in a soft and unsure voice. He looked in Jai's eyes after that. 'Tumse matlab?'

'Matlab hai! Agar Bani ko kuch ho gaya to bhagwaan aapka bhalla kare kyunki mujhse aapko koi nahin bacha sakta hai.'

Mr. Dixit walked towards Jai. ' Mai uska baap hoon, mai kyun....'

Kuch nahin hai aap uske! Jai screamed in the otherwise quiet hall. 'Every time she meets you you hurt her! She cries herself to sleep! And you call yourself her father!'

'Don't you dare raise your voice at me Walia!' Mr. Dixit matched Jais tone now.

Tum bare uske rakhwaale bane phirte ho! What have you given her?! Badnaami? Society me kya kya kehte ahi uske baare me tumhaari wajah se jaante ho na? Ya anjaan banne ki koshish kar rahe ho?'

Jais eyes turned murderous now. Seeing his body posture at this point, the rest of the family got alert. He was in the right mind to do anything now. Jai took slow steps towards Mr. Dixit.

Mujhe ek kagaz ke tukre ki zaroorat nahin hai mere aur Bani ke rishte ke liye! She is mine and I love her" Mai bina kissi dar ke uska haath sab ke saamne thaamta hoon! You have her birth certificate that says to you are her father, still you haven't called her your daughter! Aisa sulook to koi apne najaayaz aulad ke saath nahin karta hai!

Mr. Dixit grabbed Jais collar in his fists. How dare you say that?'

Jai released himself. Kyun? Bani aur mere baare me to aapne yehi kaha na? ab bura lag raha hai?' Jai asked with a smug smile. 'Collar pakarna mujhe bhi aata hai.' he hissed. At once the three men behind him stepped forward in case Jai decided to act on his words. Instead they heard Jai say. Maine abhi tak aap pe haath nahin uthaaya hai because of her. She still considers you her father aur mai usko dukhi nahin karna chaahta hoon!'

Jai turned his back on the man he had cornered against the wall and sat back in his chair. A pin dropping silence prevailed in the hall.

Mrs Dixit took her husband's hand and dragged him to another waiting hall, assuring him that they couldn't afford to fight here in the hospital with the Walias while they were waiting for Bani to regain consciousness.
Mausi decided against going home. The tension was mounting and controlling Jai wouldn't be easy when he would lose his temper. Only she could do that. Anu, Ranveer and Sahil didn't want to go home too before seeing Bani and knowing that she was fine.

They sat in silence for hours, not knowing what to do, what to say. The silence ended by Mr. Dixits ringtone of his mobile.

Yes Rano we are fine. Bas hum chachi ko drop karne chale gaye zara der ho jaayegi. Tum so jao. They heard him say.

Jai ground his teeth when he heard that man speak. The nerve of that man. Even now he didn't have the guts to say to his younger daughter where he was.

At five in the morning, in another room, Bani became aware of where she was. She tried to open her eyes. Every inch of her body hurt her. The nurse in her room saw her struggle and rushed towards her.

Dont fight it. You have tube in your nose and throat to help you breath.'

Bani tried to nod but was left with a sharp pain in the back of her head and a stinging feeling on her chest. Her eyes closed out of itself again. The nurse called the doctor who came in to check her vitals. Bani feel asleep right after the check-up while the doctors discussed her case for a while. After that they informed her waiting family about her conditions. The new scans showed no signs of internal bleeding and she was doing better then they had expected. The dose of morphine made her sleepy and somewhat pain free. If she could make it through this she would need surgery for her burn wounds and pins in her pelvis bone and maybe her arm and legs to heal it again.

You can meet her. She is awake now. The nurse who just came out of her room, informed them. A sigh of relieve ran through all of them. Mausi looked at Jai. He made no movement to get out of his chair. She went inside, saw Bani and assured her everything will be okay. Bani tried her best not to cry and gave a weak smile instead. Aditya and Jigyasa went in together. Mr. and Mrs. Dixit followed them inside. They saw Jigyasa sitting next to her and stroking her hair lightly. Bani's expressions revealed her surprise and shock to see her father and his wife in this room. She was actually waiting for someone else.

'Tu theek to hai na?' He asked hesitantly. Bani wanted to answer but couldn't.

'She cant talk because of the tube. Jigyasa said. Bani closed her eyes. Wasn't it her father's job to say that to other people? Why was he standing at such a distance?

Mr. Dixit looked at Jigyasa and Aditya with pleading eyes, holding his wife's hand.

Jigyasa understood his predicament and with lots of persuading she managed to drag Aditya along with her out of the room.

Mr. Dixit sat on the chair next to her bed. Folding his hands in his lap he looked at the floor.

'I am sorry. He whispered.

Bani opened her eyes and saw him sitting as a defeated man.

Mai tumhaare liye kuch nahin kar paaya, I know that. Maine tumhe kuch nahin diya, na aaj, na barso pehle. Ise meri majboori samjho ya meri kamzori, lekin.... I don't know what to do.I don't know how to be your father again after all these years. Itne saalon baad tum mere saamne aayi aur mai darr gaya. Meri beti ki shaadi honewaali thi. Meri dono betiyan yeh samajhte hai ki unke papa kuch galat nahin kar sakte. How could I say that I left you all alone? That I wasn't a good father? I started feeling guilty because honestly I forgot about you. I never thought I would meet you. Mai khud ko kosne laga. What kind of father doesn't worry about his child? Forgets about her in his new life? To avoid cursing my self I avoided you again and again. Pia and Rano accepted that I have another child but they will never accept my weaknesses. Aaj bhi maine tumko Rano se door rakha. I don't want to loose them Bani. I........'

With great difficulty Bani lifted her hand and reached out to Mr. Dixit. Seeing this Mr. Dixit held her hand. Bani brushed her fingers lightly over his skin. Bani slowly nodded her head in the negative to make him stop. She smiled at him and looked at Mrs. Dixit. She blinked with her eyes several times. Mrs. Dixit understood her and stepped towards the bed. She stroke her hair lightly. Bani closed her eyes to cherish this feeling and this moment.

Someone knocked on the door. Banis eyes moved to the door at one hoping to see the person she was waiting for. It was Mausi who came to say she was leaving. Mr. and Mrs. Dixit stood up too. Hum baad me aayenge, you rest.

Bani nodded and followed the figures out of the room with her eyes. Again her eyes were fixed at the door.

Outside, Mr. and Mrs. Dixit left immediately. Sahil, Anu and Ranveer went to visit Bani. Mausi kneeled down in front of Jai. Tu ander kyun nahin jata hai? Uski aankhen tumhe dhoondh rahi hai. She is waiting for you?'

Jai shook his head. 'She is leaving me Mausi. How can she do that?' Jai looked up at Aditya. 'He was right Jiju. Her father was right. I should have married her. At least she would know that I want to be with her. Mai usko aaj tak yakeen nahin dila paaya that I wont leave her. I haven't been able to prove to her what she means to me. That is why she is leaving me. I cant see her like….' Jai burst out in tears. ' She was bleeding so much.'

'She doesn't want to leave you Jai. Woh tumhe dekhna chaahti hai. Just once.' Aditya said. ' Go to her. She needs you now.'

Anu came out of the room with her brothers. 'Mamu, use dard ho raha hai, but she doesn't want to close her eyes and sleep. She is waiting for you. Go…'

Jai took attentive steps to her room. He stopped at the door for a while and looked back at his family. ' How is she?'

' In pain, but still smiling.' Jigyasa answered.

Jai closed his eyes and knocked on the door before he opened it. Bani's glaze darted to the door hearing the knock.

She smiled weakly and looked at the clock above the door. Jai flowed her gaze and knowing what she wanted to say smiled. ' Sorry, thori der ho gayi.'

Jai stood at the end of her bed, observing her and closing his eyes from time to time to stop the torment. Bani saw the pain in his eyes. She reached out to him and Jai immediately rushed to her side seeing her in pain.

'Tum kar kya rahi ho! You are in pain!' he scolded her.

She shook her head as much as she could and smiled at him.

'Dard nahin ho raha hai?' He asked.

Bani shook her head in the negative again.

'To phir?'

Bani closed her eyes for a while.

'jhooth bol rahi ho?'

This time she nodded her head to agree with him and smiled at him again.

Jai laughed and brushed her fingers lightly with his thumb. Bani looked at him. In the corner of his red and puffy eyes she saw a single tear. As much as she didn't want to, this time Bani couldn't hold back her own tears and let them flow. Jai kissed her fingers, afraid to touch her swollen and blue face and stroke her hair while crying with her.

'Go to sleep. Mai tumhaare paas baitha hoon. So jaao.'

Bani closed her eyes. She couldn't help asking God this time. ' Mai aapse theek hone ke liye praarthna nahin kar rahi hoon. Please God, just keep me alive until I can say that I love him and if I could I would want to be with him. Mai is baar apni feelings se bhagna nahin chaahti hoon. Just keep me alive till then. Uske baad aapki marzi.'

Jai didn't leave until Aditya and Jigyasa didn't drag him out of the room to go home, clean up, rest and eat something.

Bani woke up and found herself alone in the room, but was happy that Jai left to get some rest. She fell asleep immediately and only opened her eyes when he was beside her again.

So what should I do? Save her or not? or is that a supid question?😃

But how can u make Bani forgive that selfish man!!! he deserves to rot in hell!!! Gosh...why?? Jai shud hv shoved the old man sumwhr where he can stay with his lovely daughters n never show his face to Bani...poor girl!!!!

i dont know whether u r going to kill Bani or not......but what ever u do, Jai should be given a chance to show her how much he loves her......and Bani!! i hvnt loved a character more than ur Bani!!!

Ok you better not kill her. Shes had such a sad life, you gotta give her another chance at happiness. And poor Jai what about him, he will be devastated. I will spend the next few days thinking of how traumatized he must be and what a sad story this was. So please be a doll and give it a happy ending. As for the father, I think that bridge is effectively burnt, he doesnt have the guts to do anything. Jai was absolutely right about him. Waiting, waiting, waiting!
