Part 7

The next two weeks past by so fast and I never really knew what she meant to me until the camp was over ….I was the same Shiv as I always were with the opposite sex I did not do anything differently as I was familiar with the game so well… and I knew this was only just time pass… Once in Mumbai I would be busy with family business and then other girls would be entering my life… Gauri for was a challenge I hate to admit at the time she was very tempting and the competitive man in me so gloating by the win….. I was so enjoying myself with the so-called 'ice princess'… Each evening we would meet by the lake in the warm summer nights talk and just kiss and make out… both never crossing the line…. Things changed when camp was over I will never forget …….

"Bye!"

"So your and Gauri will be leaving tomorrow and you're sure you will be ok here.." Shiv looked and nodded.

"Kaka go drop everyone off at the train station and visit your sister" Gauri nodded reassuring him.

"Gauri hope you and Shanshank are happy together…." Stunned by the sentence Shiv turned to see Aasta release Gauri as she step onto the mini bus. Gauri looked as those someone had slapped her face as the colour drained from her face as she waved good bye.

"I don't know about you Gauri but I'm moving into the large house…I'm tired of sleeping in a sleeping bag on that dreadful bed…" He looked at her for a reaction as she stared into space.

"Gauri?" As she turned to look at him he saw the tears running down her face.

"I don't want to go home!" He looked at her as she ran towards the dance studio.

"Women?" He made his way towards her slowly.

Looking at her she sat on the floor crying in the little corner as he approached her.

"Ok what's the matter?…you know I kind of had a great evening planned and this was not part of it!"

"Shanshank!" he had heard the name and something inside him angered him unsure of what he sat down next to her.

"Your boyfriend?" How the words stung coming out of his mouth.

"We were set to get married when I was little he's coming back to marry me…"

"OK so what's the problem?…" she looked at him confused.

"Shiv I'm getting married?" She threw her arms around him and sobbed

"Gauri your not married yet…." He chuckled as he gentle caressed her hair.

"But Shiv?" he kissed her as she kissed him back.

"This is great …you are a seriously a great cook… it's been a long time when I have had some home cook food…that canteen food was ok but this…" he took hold of her hand and kissed it…all evening she was so quite and kept looking at the watch.

"OK so hmm… I have a little gift for you!" she looked at him as he smiled placing the giftbox on the table. Shiv smiled he had taken Ram and Palak to town a couple of days ago and came across and small chain…well on his tight budget he was able to buy something.. Mac owned him a couple of hundreds so the money was there in the ATM. Not sure why I bought it at the time…walking past the window it just looked like the right thing to do…and to tell you the truth I was nervous…as I had so many girlfriends and never gifted a gift to anyone before.

"Yes It's a gift!… Before you say a single word…Open it! OR I'm…" she smiled picking up the gift and looked at him.

"It's beautiful!" Shiv got up and made his way around the table and kissed her on the cheek.

"I think I have lost my mind!" he chuckled helping her fasten the chain.

"It's a lovely gesture…Shiv thank you!" Feeling her arms around his neck he smiled. 'man I'm loosing it?' he thought releasing her.

Watching the cricket he felt her head on his shoulder as she had fallen a sleep on the sofa next to him. Closing off the TV he gentle nudged her to awaken her.

"Gauri lets go to bed!" holding hands they went up the stairs.

"Good night Gauri!" he leaned forward and kissed her as they stood on the landing.

"Shiv!" He looked at her as she reached for the door handle.

"Can I ask for another gift?" she turned to look at him and then back towards the floor.

"Hmm another gift Gauri?… If word gets out I'm generous then …I don't know what I will do!" he chuckled stepping closure to her..

"Can I sleep in your arms…" a lone tear ran down her face. 'man the littest things she did were the cutest…even her requests' he smiled taking hold of her hand.

"I mean sleep Shiv not…" her eyes fell on the floor.

"I heard you…you just want to sleep…I would never do anything you don't want…"

As we got in bed it hit me I never actually slept with a woman… I have made love and kind of kipped in between but never slept…this was going to be very new to me too…

"Ok I'm taking the right side of the bed!" he smiled getting in with his pajamas.

"Shiv uh you going to sleep like that?"

"Like What?"

"Topless!" he looked at her blushing and chuckled.

"Hmm… well I normally sleep commando style but for you I have pajamas on!" watching her go even more red he laugh out load.

"Ok hmm I will put on a vest… but if I'm hot it's coming off!"

As he looked at her in bed as she snuggled up against him holding him tightly…he kissed her forehead.

"I love you Shiv!" He kissed leaned forward and kissed her.

In bed she tossed and turned as her nightmare took hold of her and she woke up sweating.

"Gauri it's OK!" he took hold of her.

"Please Shiv don't let him take me away"

"Gauri shhhh…. It was a bad dream no one can take you anywhere…"

"Shiv you don't know he will…." Sobbing she held him tightly.

Finally she went back to sleep sobbing in his arms… When Shanshank's name was mentioned she looked so scared and frightened and not her usual normal self …I will ask her tomorrow in the morning.

As the sun seeped into the window he found her not in the bed and looked around the room. "Gauri?" she entered the room with tea and breakfast and he noticed her hair wet from her showering.

"I though we could have breakfast in bed!"

"Hmm… you know we are behaving as a married couple…" he chuckled to look at her.

"I don't want to forget any part of it …even if this is not really…"

"Really Gauri… only the marriage part is not real I'm very much real!" he pulled her close to him and kissed her.

"Now this kind of morning breakfast I can get used to…" he released her as she blushed.

"We better hurry up and eat as Kaka and Devika will be back…"

"Gauri I was think ….can I escort you to Kolkatta…My grandparent are there I want to visit them …"

"Oh Shiv!" he smiled as he felt her arms around his neck and her lips on his cheek….

Not once did she let go on my hand and I wanted to kind of spend more time with her…something inside of me wanted to make sure she was completely safe …I can't explain she was get so under my skin and I was unable to think about anything else… Our time in the bed was the best as there was no sex no think how I should behave with her it was like everything was so natural… so relaxing and no pressure…but I got a sting every time I saw her kohl eyes sadden by something and she refused to tell me. As the train head towards Kolkatta we just looked at each other in the small cramped metal box.

"Shiv wake up!"

"Gauri?"

"There a little villiage I want to show you…called Tarapith...There a big Devima temple…I normally pray there before going home it's a two day trek the station is approaching…Come on!"

Shiv looked at her confused and smiled as her eyes looked so happy as she gathered the bags…..
