Shiv looked at Palak as she sat in the Summer camp minibus…he had told Kaka that they need to go into town and would be back soon…Only they knew they were going to the local hospital to get an abortion organized.
"Wait!" he looked to see Gauri approach them and open the door.
"I'm coming to…"
As they were about to drive away Devika stood in the middle of the path flagging them down.
"Get out of the minibus!" she commanded…..
Suddenly a car appeared and Ram stepped out and ran towards Palak….She looked him and started sobbing.
"Where were you going?" he looked at her as he stepped closer to her.
"I uh went to meet my parents and see your papa…look" out of the car stepped out the family all looking at them. Palak took hold of her father and started sobbing….
Shiv smiled and walked away leaving them all alone to sort out there issues….Gauri turned to see him walk away and smiled…….
"Congratulations!" Shiv looked at Ram as he held Palak's hand smiling…
"Thank you so much Shiv… Palak told me what you have done for her…I owe you one…" Shiv smiled as he looked at them.
"Any human being would have done the same…"
"No Shiv they wouldn't have …you were the only one who treated me as friend…" Palak hugged Shiv and he smiled as he looked at Ram.
"Actually I can't stand women crying they look so ugly…" he teased wiping her tears.
"So the wedding arranged for when camp is over until… we are here…" Shiv nodded as they walked to the camp.
"Now you going to tell Gauri how much you love her!" he looked at Palak and smiled.
"I don't think I'm her type…."
"Right Folks we going Camping tomorrow so make sure your teams have the vital equipment on the list…Early start…" Shiv smiled as he looked at the list… the boys were looking forward to the camping trip and where excited rocking climbing, river rapids and other adventures for the next week looked funny… everyone was going except Palak that last two week with her throwing up had not been pleasant.. Ram was worrying and Devika moved her in to the large luxurious cabin with her… and Gauri, Shilpa and Aasta looked after her cabin and girls in turns….
"OK Tonight we stop here!" Ram shouted at everyone…
The children all sighed and cheered…throwing down there bags… Shiv was walking way behind the troop with Vivaan making sure the rear was ok and many of the children struggling were ok…
"So Vivaan… How's it going with Shilpa?" He looked at him as the walked towards the new camp sight as Ram was demonstrating how to make a tent with the children.
"Very slowly not even first base??… I means sometimes I just want to you…" Shiv chuckled at the look on his face as he sighed.
"So why don't you?… what's stopping you?" Vivaan looked at him and nodded.
"I'm kind waiting for the right moment…"
"Well I'm a impulsive guy and will go for it… it works all the time…" Shiv winked as he walked away towards his boys…
Everyone was settled for the evening and the camp fire was lit and everyone was talking in there own little crowds… Shiv decided he would walk towards the running stream… all day it had been Shiv this and that and he did not want to reset with the children today… His boys knew he liked relaxing on his own for a while…
"Tired?" he looked at Gauri as she stood behind him as he was sat on a boulder as she came about to face him. He had stolen glances at her a day but decided not to talk to her as he was not her type and never would be.. they thinking about everything was so different if fact she was wrong for him in so many ways as he walked up the mountain it was all he thought about.
"Uh no just got a headache…" he said gentle rubing his forehead.
"Can I help?" he looked at her confused and then back at the sun slowly setting behind the snow top mountains..
"I have tablets in my backpack!" He stared at her as she looked so different in her red camping jacket and jeans.
"May I sit down?" why was she being persistent he thought shuffling down to make her room.
"I love coming here… Can I show you something?" Her eyes looked as if she was dieing to reveal a secret to him as he looked at her …her dimple smile was just perfect ever more beautiful then any thing he has ever seen ..his heart skipped a beat as she stood up before him.
He could have followed her to the end of the world if she had asked but he knew she was far from his reach as he looked at her jumping the stream on the boulders like stepping stones…as one of the boulders was slippery she lost her footing to find his arms holding her up…he smiled as he looked into her eyes and could read the words of gratitude…
"Careful!" he whispered as he gentle let go of her…
For a good 10 minutes they walked side by side no one saying anything at all… he could sense she was nervous… and slowly the sun lit the sky in bright orange and red as it beamed thought the forest trees…
"Wow!"
"I know it's beautiful… they say a lover carved the stone as a gift to his lady lover…but he was never able to gift her the gift as he was never happy with his creation…. Look he made many for her… he lives in the forest still…craving finding that perfect gift…"
"He's mad!" Shiv started laughing out loud and his laughter could be heard all around her….she looked at him confused.
"Nothing will ever be as beautiful in this world to him but her…I mean look these carving are beautiful flawless but as a perfectionist he can never gift her what he feels only a simple kiss and exchange of words can show his depth of love …this creating the Taj style gift means nothing... " he chuckled as he walked over towards the large stone
"Look how he has shaped her features onto the stone…if he paid that attention to her she would have loved him more…. Man I hate guys like this… Taj Mahal guys…" he looked at her as she stared at him baffled.
"Sorry you look upset?…. Listen Gauri a simple man cannot create a Taj or these works of art… A simple man would just be blessed to have someone to love…" he walked over towards her and looked at her as she looked at him confused.
"For me she would be my Taj…her beauty would be solely mind to touch and her lips and soul would be mine to worship for the rest of my life…"
"I get your point for me the thought of a person wanting to express there love for someone in such a manner is beautiful.." Shiv laugh out load again.
"I know you chicks love it.. OMG you know how much a guy has to think about such thing…take flowers as an example… you gift them she say awe they beautiful… three days later they dead…cards and cute toys…all rubbish when the relationship end where are they on the side of the house in the rubbish…. Why does the mere fact that he loves you not enough? My younger brother Vivaan is mad how he spends so much money on such nonsense on girls!"
"Sounds like you never found the one you love to gift such gifts to.." He looked at her as her eyes widened and nodded.
"You're right I have not… it's all crap!"
"Crap? I would not say so…in fact love is what lives on…look at these stones …. If this is not a symbol of love then what is…the Taj is too…"
"A symbol of love? You serious??…it's a waste of time! He should have been making love to her to create there symbol!" he looked at her as she blushed and stepped closure to her.
"Why did you bring me here?" he asked moving closure as she moved back to feel the tree behind her.
"I uh.. though you would like…" feeling her body shimmer near him he smiled as he stepped even closer and looked at her lips… with his heart racing he moved closer….. feeling her lips and his hand on her waist he could feel her now kissing him back and released her.
"This is why you wanted me here …alone with you…" he whispered in her ear and released her stepping back.
"What? NO?" she glared at him and turned around angrily. Shiv smiled and walked towards the way they came.
"We should get back! We will not have much daylight left…" it was so tempting to just take hold of her and kiss her again and again…but he was not wanting to play her game on her term but his own…
He thought about her all night as he lay in the sleeping bag… 'Why did she take me there? What did she want to say? Man she so interested …he chuckled as he closed his eyes…
Morning events were hard work him and the boys as they were responsible for cleaning up the camp site before they left and as everyone moved on.
"Shiv don't mind but I want to go to see Shilpa…would it be ok for Gauri and you two see to the kids behind." Shiv looked at him in amusement and nodded…'She will refused!' he thought but was surprised to see her walking towards him.
"Hi!"
"Hi" she whispered back not happy as he smiled looking at the troop ahead.
"Look why don't you join Aasta or Ram…I'll make sure everything here is ok!" He looked at her dressed in a pink polo t-shirt and jean shorts… her hair was tired back and she looked like an anger child who had been scolded as she bite her lip.
"No it's fine …but if you want me to go I will!" he looked at her as her voice quivered and stopped.
"Gauri?" she turned to look at him as a tear came rolling down her face. He stepped towards her and looked at her.
"You hate me! …I'm a nasty person …when all that happened with Palak I was so mad at you and did not know what I was saying… and …" he took hold of her in his arms and smiled.
"I don't hate you…"
"You don't like me either!?!" Shiv chuckled as he let go of her.
"Come on or they going to ask why we are so behind…." He took hold of her hand and they slowly walked up toward the troop. He notice her looking at him as he held her hand but he just looked forward and smiled cheekily as she wiped her tear… 'She has got feeling for me!' his heart raced as he felt her hand squeeze his as they walked up the mountain.
"Feel better!" he turned to look at her. Seeing her cried made him feel uneasy but he was enjoying her company….
"Shiv ?"
"No! I don't hate…you but i don't like you either!" he didn't now why he say it but just looked ahead as she tried to pull her hand away.
"Stop it!" he turned to look at her as she struggled to free herself. She was so childish and he loved that about her the littlest thing will get her worked up it was so easy to get under her skin…he pulled her slow to him.
"Now behave or I'm sending you …. Back up top!" he lifted her chin and looked at her
"Why do you do this?" he looked at her as she whispered to him
"Do what?" he asked looking at her.
"Have this power over me?"
"Now what do you mean?" he could see her blush slightly and smiled.
"I am so madly in love with you!" he looked at her surprised as she leaned forward to hold him…… Shiv smiled… now that's how a pro does it gets the girl without trying to much. I have broken my own record 2 kisses in 4 weeks.. girl madly in love!!…now Vivaan your ice princess has melted in my arms… and now this next 6 weeks will get interesting…….
