PART 4

Gauri started walking towards the outhouse when she passed by the mandir. She put her hands up in a prayer and said : "god….shiv ki taraaf se mein maafi mang thi hoon…woh bure admi nahi hai…haan tore gusse hai lekin mujhe vishwaas hai ke woh mujhe ek din apnaa lega. I need you to give me the strength to make my marriage a success. From now on nothing is more important to me than shiv and his happiness." She quietly walked away and didn't see the dark shadow looking at her.

NEXT MORNING
Shiv came out of the shower in a towel and saw ippishita sitting on his bed waiting.

Shiv: ever heard of knocking 'he walked to his cabinet to get out his clothes'
Ippi: ever heard of decency
Shiv: its not the first time you've seen me like this ' he put on his shirt and tie'
Ippi: I wasn't talking about you being half naked….i was talking about what you did to gauri last night.
Shiv: oh so her big mouth blabbered everything out already….how typical.
Ippi: for your kind information she didn't say a word to me. I saw last night how you kicked her out the room.
Shiv turned to face her.
Shiv: you know ippishita…you really have to mind your own business.
Ippi: gauri is my friend so she is my business…how can you be so insensitive shiv?
Shiv: she deserved it.
Ippi: no she didn't! Its not her fault that shashank left her and its not her fault that she got married to a jacka** like you.
Shiv: don't push it ippishita 'he whispered softly'
Ippi: why? You think you know everything…..why can't you just accept gauri?
Shiv: I think you should leave.
Ippi: no I won't….you know what gauri did after you kicked her out? She went to pray for you….for YOU dammit! I don't know how she tolerates you. I know you shiv and I know that you are making her life a living hell right now. And gauri?...she never even uttered a word….woh chup chap saab sehti jaa rahi hai.
Shiv: GET OUT!
Ippi: I'M GOING! But remember that in the end you will end up hurting yourself.
Ippishita walks out of the room in rage. Shiv turned around and hit his fist with force on the wall.
Shiv thinking: 'she's wrong….gauri destroyed MY life…I'll never forgive her for that.' When ippishita was walking down the stairs in anger gauri spotted her and stopped her.
Gauri: arre ippishita kya hua?
Ippi: nothing…I just had a fight with shiv.
Gauri understood immediately what they must have fought about.

The day went by and it was night time. Shiv was lying on his bed drinking a beer and flipping through a sports magazine. Gauri comes out of the bathroom after taking her shower…since she can't take her shower in the morning because shiv gets mad. She walked to the mirror and started drying her hair. Shiv looked up from his magazine for a momement and looked at gauri. Ippishita's words were still ringing in his head 'gauri went to pray for YOU…..you are making her life a living hell now….woh chup chap saab sehti jaa rahi hai.'

Gauri: can I say something?
Shiv got out of his trance and noticed that gauri said something.
Shiv: hmm ' he said while looking back to his magazine'
Gauri: I….what I wanted to say is that please you and ippshita don't fight because of me.
Shiv looked at her in surprise, but then covered it up quickly: please huh….your not that important.
Gauri quietly made her bed and went to sleep.

the next day gauri was cleaning her closet when she knocked over a photo album. She flipped it open and saw old pictures of herself with her family. Her first step…her first day in school…a school drama…kaya's birthday…and then she saw a picture of her and shashank. A tear slowly rolled down her cheek as she closed the album. Shiv noticed this whole scenario and got a wicked smile on his face.
