Well, now that Hema is a pucca villain, the serial makers have the justification for Parthi's marriage to Anandhi, but as Elijay says this bigamy, polygamy thing is not fun to watch. I get very upset when i see these scenes, but I do realize its fiction and should not be emotional abt it.Nevertheless, it makes me uncomfortable and is definitely unsettling for me.

Part of the reason I get so upset is that one person in my family was subject to this when her husband had a second family going in another city and handed over his property and income to the second wife and the first one would be thrown out of the house periodically to go and get some more money from her parents, and she would come and stay with her sister's family till her parents could help out or someone would go and threaten the husband. One of my dearest friends happened to be the victim of this adultery since her father moved out to go and live with his mistress, leaving his wife to the mercies of her MIL and the rest of his family, and I have seen the emotional scars that my friend bears to this day, from all the abuse from her mother's inlaws. Her father was not only educated and wealthy, he was a respected member of his profession too, and people just assumed that her mother must have driven her father away, even the inlaws, who knew better. This behavior is the result of pure selfishness.

On another note, it doesn't look as if Ganesh has ever seen Meera, or else he would have known that Suja looks like Meera.

I totally agree with you that this is just a fiction or T.V serial. Nevertheless I get too upset seeing multiple marriages. It is so bad. Thank God it is not the only thread in this serial. The main story is atleast interesting so far. Otherwise I would have stopped watching this also.

On the other hand some times I watch a serial that comes in the morning - Thiruppavai. In that they show a lady getting remarried after her husband died. That is a good change. (Although there is a track wit 2 wives in that serial also.)

Eljay, I think one of the fundamental reasons why most of our serials portray themes like bigamy is that the creative teams are led by men, rather than women. Men who don't really understand the views of the largely female viewers of serials. I know there are some women who helm these serials but by and large it's men who take the lead.
Once the power structure in the production teams changes, we may get to see more balanced themes 😃
Just my humble opinion. Hope you're all having a great weekend.
cheers

Obviously, Srima. Ganesh has never met Meera before. I have a feeling Saravanan is somehow implicated in all of this. He may have been the one who knew Meera, which is why also the producers have kept him away from Chennai.

yes Bon , I agree with u. But Saravanan should be back soon as he must have finished his exams [remember it falls on Anandhi's wedding day] ,unless the producers decide to retain him back under the pretext of Viva to drag the matter.

Yes...now it sounds logic that Sara knew the late Meera....but I remember Suja telling Ganesh that he (Ganesh) was the one who sent Meera to look up Suja's sister Aarthi. Ganesh just stood there blinking ( I think he had kollukattas in his mouth.😡.)without denying it thus I assumed that he knew Meera..... 😍
