I am so pissed off with how the main plot line of our home show i.e break up and after effects have been handled and how a so called contemporary relationship has been shown when in relationship and post break up.

I am waiting for Malvika to watch the break up and post break up episodes in KYY so I can discuss openly without spoiling it for her...

I got the episode no. wrong earlier. I think even the characterization of the leads and chemistry went for a toss from episodes 214 to 221 (some production house issues). 222 onwards it was good till Fab 5 performance in Mangalore. Then Parth fell sick in real life and they had to cover up with some silly hospital track but they made that too work with their chemistry when he returned. The last episode you should see is when they almost have sex in his house. Do not bother with the ones after that as you will ruin your memory of the show. That episode also feels like a fitting last episode, It is absolutely wonderful. One of the lead actors wanted to leave the show and Richa Yamini, the woman responsible for the show's soul left so it went downhill after that...

I have no words for our home show. My last bit of interest also waned after reading recent WUs and spoilers. Don't know what's happening there...

This show brings a smile to my face. Thanks fir the heads up on episode numbers... Will watch out. Which is the one where they almost hv Sex... Will b careful not to watch after 😃

If I loved the confession scene in our home show, I went one step beyond love with the confession scene here. Loved nandini's thought of doing something special and just doing everything all by herself... This girl is all about confidence! I so love that she doesn't wait to be treated like a princess by her prince... She is sure enough of herself... Loved her standing up to Noyonika for Manik - his expressions there were of awe and admiration... She has girly desires but she's no wimp!
The confession was beautiful 2-sided one... I immediately thought of the confession scene in our home show and now it seems more one-sided... Absolute beautiful chemistry here...

So did you watch Season 2 or the show went for a complete toss?

So I am confused. What are you watching now? There are 2 confessions. Manik's - episode 196 in which they smooch and later Nandini's (she wears a red top in that one and they are in Mangalore). Both are very good but I am partial to the second one. 😊.

Our home show has been one sided since the confession, the gap just kept getting wider and wider and now it is a huge pit which cannot be filled.

The episode in which they almost have sex - you will not need me to call that out for you. 😊. It will be very very very obvious. 😃. The way they handled it was very very good. They even discussed their desires openly. The makers did a great job of covering most aspects of the relationship.

I did not bother with the last few episodes of S1, forget S2. S2 was a royal flop. Parth left the show end of S1and returned some time in between S2. Forget about him, the real star was Richa Yamini. Her absence can be felt completely in the last few episodes of S1.

Am still at Manik's confession and the kidnapping.
But the whole sequence of Nandini wanting to surprise him, arranging everything, carrying the boxes and climbing trees herself to do it all up is confession in itself for me... This girl has spunk!

In our home show, the much older girl couldn't even express. All she did was stare & keep falling in his arms... Here a much younger girl says it as she feels and even climbs trees for him. No better way of showing how much she loves...
I was laughing with the way he was coordinating his surprise on phone and this girl just made him sit in the car while she did it all herself...

The whole part from the fusion concert, friends teasing to the confession & smooch was beautiful... I was smiling... And felt the horror of the kidnapping...
Loved Manik sleeping outside her door and just falling in as she opened it in the morning... That's where I hv reached now...

But sounds like the production house was having a drama of their own with the lead leaving including Richa Yamini... Guess much more interesting & distracting than what was happening on screen... 😊

She sure does have spunk! I think Niti is perfect for the role. She looks naturally vulnerable and young and brings out Nandini's spunk so well.

When you invest in a show and like the storyline, you start liking the actors and take the same mannerisms you found initially annoying, in your stride. We see so much of them that they become familiar and grow on us.

Here is a couple that has been together in a way since the 60s and 130+ episodes down the line when they finally confess, they still brought out something knew. . I am amazed at the makers of the show. 200 + episodes down the line they managed to retain the freshness in the leads' interactions and there is so much attention to detail for every single scene involving Manan. They knew they were very very popular and respected that, did not take it for granted. Ultimately it is a story of an innocent but strong girl and typical manly bad boy but it is the nuances and treatment which make it such an engaging watch.

The journey and growth in their individual characterization and more importantly as a couple was shown so well. That is what I loved about our home show too initially. I thought that compared to other shows they did a wonderful job of showing 2 individuals who started out on not so pleasant terms and showed various stages of mutual respect, friendship, affection and later love very well. They faltered after that big time of course.

You are so right! I had found Niti extremely cutsie & innocent initially. Her grit did come through when she would stand up to Fab 5 but her mannerisms were too cute for a 17 year old... As the story progressed, the innocence and strength has blended in nicely... She has the face that projects innocence but when she's angry or on a Mission, she's determined.

Manik is the typical bad boy and I like that when he falls hopelessly in love, he doesn't go all weak kneed and sappy. He is very much in character. Soft and protective in love, same angry, strong and aggressive otherwise. Even while being there for Nandini, he does not sit & cry or go overboard with guilt - he just knows what he needs to do and coolly does it.
Very nicely projected what he says 'she's turned the Monster into a human' ...

By keeping the friendship & everyone's characterization in line, this is all coming across as relatable even when the tracks are silly or not handled with the seriousness that the topics deserve... Just the interactions between all characters is real.

I hv to commend these guys for maintaining this. Not seen it before barring very few shows...

I had hoped for this in our home show. It does not matter if tracks are silly or forced if the main characterization & their interactions/reactions are kept real. But when the characters seem lost in the middle of deep blue ocean, who wants to see anything else! Really sad...

Exactly. In a a rom com format they gave us a FL who plays her age but can be admired. She is one of a kind, no wonder Manik fell for her! Not because she is his therapist/problem solver but because she truly completes him and he her!

Manik is the typical bad boy and I like that when he falls hopelessly in love, he doesn't go all weak kneed and sappy. He is very much in character. Absolutely. While Nandini is more compelling of the two, (a strong FL who is also vulnerable in love is a treat to watch and unique on desi tv), Manik is not far behind. He is the rock for Fab 5 and can handle almost everything thrown his way (almost everything because he could not handle Nandini 😊). A great example is Musicana night, when almost all the Fab 5 folks keep coming to him with his problems while he himself is grappling with his own!

I dont think I have ever seen this in a desi daily soap atleast. Maybe to some extent in Miley Jab Hum Tum

In KYY, till the end they ensure that audience never falls out of love with the lead characters and their equation. Our home show unfortunately under the guise of portraying realism is on a mission to destroy the characters they have built up so well!!

So have you watched the Mangalore track yet? Nandini finally opens up about her feelings and conveys them without holding back.

Nandini is a delightful characterization. She does complete him by just being herself.
When he's thinking of using his/noyonika's power, she puts together a campaign.
When he wants to just go all aggressive on Harshad, she puts together a plan to bring him down.
when Navya gets pregnant, she fights back with the secret ballot.
It's like every time, she finds an alternate way to his aggression to reach the same destination. He is compelled to come around & support.
From him being all aggressive, he turned to not wanting to see her lose!
I absolutely loved the way she holds his hand in front of Noyonika and tells her Manik deserves to be happy! She sure shut up Noyonika and Manik just stared in awe... (After Fusion concert)
He's fallen for her 'woman of substance' avatar...
What I like is this has not changed him though... he remains in character. He is just saner when with her...

I have just started the mangalore track and for the first time, am confused 😊
But if you say, Nandini will open up so maybe she will clear my confusion...

Scarred after being kidnapped, I get. She is in shock, lost her music, wants to be away n heal, all I get. But this constant 'is he coming or not', wanting him to be around but pushing him away when close is confusing... I can see Manik is confused too... She wants his attention but pushes him when he gives her that attention...
But in this I simply love the friends... They are just being with him no matter what he plans. Cabir is again awesome... But my most favorite episode is when in college each Friend played their music instrument and shared their personal demons with Nandini to try and heal her.(for Manik)... I don't think I have seen such simple, beautiful and very real representation of friendship...

This is such a refreshing production... It's not the greatest story but it's the best characterization & relatable interaction amongst characters I hv seen... Kudos!

Kudos!

Kidnapping in the midst of confession was stupid and that too by a world renowned artist. Highly dumb. Even if we accept that plot device for the sake of the characters, the episodes after that were boring and somewhat annoying. They got back their spark a bit from the road trip to Mangalore, lost it in the episode nos I mentioned above and came back with a bang with Nandini's birthday. They were good for some more episodes after...I explained all that in one of my earlier posts..Please follow the episode nos. I listed in my earlier posts and avoid the useless episodes...

Nandini truly is a delightful character. Now you know why I asked you guys to watch, especially since we were so disappointed with the lack of respect and dignity in the treatment of the FL in our home show. The worst thing is that I considered it as one of the USPs of that show and they let me down in that very department..
