"I can't believe she picked me ..."- that's what I ask myself everyday..
We are so over the initial honeymoon phase of our relationship still I get these jitters whenever I see her..never in my life I thought to have had a chance with her..her beautiful smile can even brighten my gloomiest of days..the day we met I knew she was going to be light of my life ..
As the time went by.. I didn't get to realise when her and her's adorable sunshine became the most important part of my existence..who would have thought life be giving a chance to an orphan like me..a chance to have my own family...a family that wouldn't have been possible without her..her.. my navya..
"How much time Cabir .."- I heard my best friend Manik thrashing in one corner.. .flustered he kept playing with his seatbelt..
Manik , my best friend ..the one who didn't shy away like others did when he got to know about my non existent social life...
"Cabir..."- Manik kept grumbling like a baby as we made our way to the parking lot near the plaza..
"Patience Manik..we are there.."- exactly patience..he doesn't have it..that's my friend for you all..
After parking the car , I called Navya and she told me that they were trying sarees ..
Without waiting I dragged Manik there.." Wow..slow down buddy..who is impatient now.."-Manik teased while I obviously ignored him too distracted by the thoughts of Navya in wedding wear..
"How did I got so lucky.."-I thought as I saw Navya swirling in bluish lehnga ..she is exquisite..nothing in this world could be compared to her..
I couldn't have gotten out of my reverie If Manik , the evil shrimp wouldn't have punched me ..
"Oww..what the hell Manik.."-I but all jumped on him for distracting me from my beautiful beloved..
"Oye..get out of your dream world and see.."- Manik pointed to Navya and my heart broke at the sight as I noticed Navya was crying while her best friend, Nandini was consoling her constantly rubbing her back..
In a flash I stood straight while trying to step ahead I noticed Manik clutching my left leg as his life depended on it..
"Manik..leave me..I couldn't watch her like this.."- pushing him all the way as i tried ripping my way through the bemused crowd of people circling us.. i saw them staring at us as if we were some sort of blabbing bumbling band of baboons..hell I don't care if I look like a clown ..I just want to get away as fast as possible to and hold her tight till all her sadness melts away.
"Cabir..you idiot..did you even hear what she is talking about..."-Manik asked..
"No.."- I grumbled..Obviously I didn't..they were quite far from where we were standing and it wasn't at all possible to hear..But that doesn't matter..what matters is I have to get to her soonish..
With that in mind I finally unhandled myself from his iron like grip and was about to walk when Manik groaned ..-" Wait.."
Cussing a few strange words he held my arms while squishing my front jaw and we walked where they were while managing to hid well aside the counter ..
( Something like this but they don't land on sofa and neither cabir has a bandage 😃 )
"Manik..what are you doing .."
"Shut up and listen .."
"Nandini would you promise me something .." - I heard Navya ..
Do you promise to take care of my princess..my pari ..If something happens to me or Cabir.."-I felt my heart twitch at the pain in her words..
I was about to burst right there when I heard Nandini - "I will always take care of pari and listen to me..Nothing will happen to you or Cabir..life has finally given you the chance to be happy and you will see much beautiful things are waiting ahead.."
I felt agreeing to her each and every word..dammit I would make sure nothing will go wrong ..not now..
As I was lost in my thoughts I felt Manik tugging on my shirt and then..I saw he was pointing in Nandini and Navya's direction where they were laughing goofily while teasing each other and Navya was smiling brightly through her tears..I could hear my heart beat spike at that..god what I would do without you Navya ..
Smiling widely at her antics I didn't notice when Manik dragged me to right behind them ..
"Wow Stop scaring the people around.."- he but all screeched..wow smooth Manik ..really smooth ..I rolled my eyes at him..
Before I could process anything Navya ran straight in my arms ..she clutched on to me as she was afraid to lose me..but so was I ..holding onto her tight ..cooing softly I patted her head and mumbled sweet nothings in her ear..and made her believe I was here to stay and not going anywhere ..
"Looks like someone missed you too much Haan Cabir .." - Nandini starred dreamily..
"Of course she did..but strangely you are the one who can't keep quiet.."- Manik huffed in response..god what is wrong with him..why he insist on fighting with Nandini at every waking Spur..
"You.." -Nandini crossed her arms and lunged straight at him ..
At one instance they were dissing each other while pointing fingers at each other aggressively and in the other they were sprawled wide on the floor with both of their legs and arms tangled in each other...gosh such kids these are..before I could go and stop these Tom and Jerry epiphanies to occur..I felt my wrist bind due to Navya's sharp grip on me..there are moments like these when I wonder if Navya is actually stronger than me..of course she is emotionally ..she had much terrible experiences and instead of cowering away she stood tall in the face..
"Yes that's my Navya.."- I felt proud staring at my girl and that was when she pinched me pulling me back to reality..
"What.."- I scrunched my nose playfully..
"Look at them.."- Navya pointed to Nandini and Manik who were lost in each other eyes ..what the hell ..when did that happened ...they were toh fighting before...I jerked right back to Navya who was grinning widely while starring in space..
"Wow..just wow..I am not the only one clueless here.."-I mumbled and shook Navya from her Expeditionae outer space..
"Navya.."
"Gosh ..they are so cute.."- Navya clapped loudly grinning at the two idiots who were by the way still on the floor..were they glued or something..?
"Talk about embarrassing..now.."- I watched the crowd who was staring at us as if we were some aliens on a trip ..
"Guys..guys..."-I hushed trying to gain the attention of people cemented on floor..which actually seemed impossible for their sole attention was on each other..god bless but if there was an earthquake..' they still won't get up '..I doubt..
Jumbled in my thoughts I got thwarted back to reality when I saw the people clicking pictures with their phones flashing around at incredible speed..
"NO...!" - my voice got stuck in my throat when I saw the floored idiots were about to kiss each other..god I thought they hated each other..I guess not anymore..but that thought went straight into gutter when those two stood in a flash ..and ran from there..in opposite direction..while I kept grumbling..- " what was that.."
So how was it..?
Sorry it was a bit short..i am kind of stretching the plot so there are a few stumps here and there ( please note this chapter was in Cabir's P.O.V and why is it that you will get to know soon )
Possibly the next update will give an introduction to pari and will also include cavya's wedding and that's exactly from where prologue will make some sense .
