The next Morning, I woke up next to Mukti. Her hand was on my head and her legs were on my waist.
"What the Hell!" I shouted, pushing her away.
Mukti woke up immediately hearing my scream and held me by my shoulders. "What happened? Why are you screaming? Is everything alright?" She asked in a tensed state.
"What is this Mukti? Why are you on my bed? Eww, this is ridiculous!" I shouted.
She looked at me angrily and said, "Have you lost it Nandini? You are on my bed not me!"
Wait..what? What the- I finally realised that I was on her bed!
"How? I mean, Why?" I asked, looking at her.
"Do you have any idea wat happened last night? Dude you slept on the couch!"
What? No! Shit. How could you, nandini?
"We tried to wake you up but tum aise ghoray bech ke sorahi thi ke bas!" Added Mukti.
"Then?" I asked, in a low voice.
"Then what? Manik ne tumhe uthaya and yahan kamrey tak pohnchaya. Unfortunately, wo tumhe mere bed par chorgaya and mae tumhe utha kar shift nahi krsakti thi or naa hee kisi or bed pey so sakti thi so yeah..I managed." Said Mukti.
"What? Manik? Why?" I asked her angrily.
"Obviously! Dhruv apne kamre me jachuka tha and Cabir was busy with the guests toh Manik he bacha tha.." Said Mukti.
"Mukti Yaar..Waheen rehnay detay yaar mujhe.." I said.
Mukti looked at me, "Nandini, sit down."
"Why?" I asked.
"Just sit and listen to me." She ordered.
"Look Nandini, 2 years have passed..Sab kuch kitna badalgaya hai..It's all the past yaar. Can't we just forget about our past issues and enjoy this time of our life? What if this is our last reunion? What if we never meet again? Would you want our last reunion to be like this? Jahan hum apas me sahi se bat bhi na karen, jahan we just keep on ignoring each other, jahan all of us behave like strangers.."
I was speechless. I was blank. She was actually right. This could be the last time!
"No, Right?" Asked Mukti raising her eyebrows.
I didn't say anything. I was quiet.
"Nandini..Life was messy. Always had been and always will be so why bother complaining? You either did something about it or you didn't, and then you lived with the choice you made. That's how it goes, right?"
I nodded my head in a yes.
Mukti was confused. "So?" She asked.
I took a deep breath and said, "So, Let's do it!"
"Do what?" She asked.
"Let's make this memorable. Let's enjoy every bit of it. Let's have some fun. Let's relive our old college days! Let's do this." I said, excitedly.
And there was a wide smile on Mukti's face hearing this.
"Thankyou nandini! Thankyou so much!!" She said. She was literally jumping with excitement.
Our cute happy moment was broken by the continuous knocks on the door.
"Hang on! Darwaza toroge kia!" Shouted Mukti.
As soon as Mukti opened the door, Dhruv Manik and Navya Pushed her away jumped in the room.
"What? You little monsters!" Cried Mukti.
Navya ran towards me and asked, "Nandu, tum theek hona? Ho kya gaya tha tumhe kal?"
"Uh-uh!" I said making the the famous 'Potato face'
Manik looked at me and asked in a low voice, "You okay, right?"
"Yes. I'm fine..I'm okay.." I replied, with a smile on my face. He smiled back.
"Ok Guys, Listen up!" Said cabir addressing everyone.
"It's time to have some fun!!" added Navya.
"Fun? What Fun?" I asked.
"We're going to this amazing..Like super amazing beach today so pack up your stuff and meet me in the parking area in 40 Minutes. Okay?" Said Cabir.
"What? No!" I cried.
Everyone looked at me angrily. Except Manik though. He was still feeling awkward. Maybe because, I was a little rude to him yesterday. But now, I had decided that I won't let the past affect me anymore. I will stay calm and composed. I will be friendly with everyone, and 'everyone' includes Manik too.
"Guys, wo actually..I have some important work to do." I said.
"Aisa konsa important kaam hai?" Asked Navya.
Just then, my phone started to ring. "Baby" Flashed on the mobile screen. Mukti gave me that 'What's cooking?' look. I ignored her and picked up the call.
"I'll call you later." Saying this, I disconnected the call immediately.
"Nanduuu!" Said Navya, teasingly though.
"What!?" I asked, widening my eyes.
"Acha to nandini, is this your important work?" Asked Cabir, with an evil smile.
"What do you..what do you mean?" I asked, hesitatingly.
"Good going nandini, well done!" Said Dhruv sarcastically.
While everyone was teasing me, there was one person in the room who was quiet. He was trying his best to avoid the situation. His facial expressions had completely changed. He was so happy few minutes ago and just after seeing that 'Baby' flashing on my mobile screen, all the happiness faded away. He looked really uncomfortable.
He didn't say anything. He was just staring the floor with a weird expression on his face.
"Guys, please. Aisa kuch nahi hai.." I said in a serious tone.
"Okay Guys, I'm going to take a shower. Will see you people after 40 minutes." Saying this, Manik excused himself.
"Issey kya hogaya?" Said Dhruv, in a confused state.
Cabir smiled a little. "Some things never change..and some people can never be forgotten." He said to himself.
"Kuch kaha tuney?" Asked Mukti.
"Naa! Nothing!" Said Cabir.
"So? What's the plan then?" Asked Navya.
"Plan is on!" Said Cabir.
"Nandu..tum?" Asked Navya.
"Uh! Tumlog mujhe sukoon se rehne to dogay nahi if i refuse so fine, I'm In!" I said making an helpless face.
"Great then. Go get ready everyone. Disperse!" ordered Cabir.
-- After sometime, everyone gathered in the parking area. Manik was stunned to see Nandini as he thought she will not come. --
Manik looked at me and I passed a smile to him but to my surprise, he just looked away angrily.
What nonsense? What does he want? I'm trying to be friendly with him and he is showing me attitude? What the hell is his problem? Urghh!
"So Guys, we have two cars. Since Dhruv's hand is hurting, Manik and I'll drive. Navya, Dhruv or mae ek gari me jatay hain and Mukti Alya Nandini, you go with Manik. Alright?" Instructed Cabir.
"Okay. cool!" Said Alya and we seated ourselves. Mukti sat with Manik on the front seat.
"This is so cool man! We're going to the beach. Together." Exclaimed Mukti.
"Seriously! It feels so good. Everything is still the same.." added Alya.
Manik flashed his crooked smile, looked at me through that interior rear view mirror and said, "No! We're all changed..Kyu Mukti and Alya tumdono ka apna 'Baby' Nahi Mila?"
What the? Is he taunting me? Damn it. What is his problem?
I was literally turning red with anger.
Mukti looked at me and gave that 'Calm Down' Look of hers.
"Manik! Don't." Said Mukti.
"Guys, Please. Manik, Don't spoil this." Alya Added.
Manik was still looking at me through the mirror and I was looking at him angrily and just then my phone starting to ring. Again.
Manik giggled and said, "Pick it up. Baby will get worried!"
"Shutup Manik!" Said Mukti.
I looked at him angrily and picked up the call.
"I said na I'll call you later, so just wait and don't call me now!" Saying this, I disconnected the call.
"No one will speak a word now! Manik, Just drive and don't you dare say something." Ordered Mukti.
