Chapter 5- Life's Perfect!
"Manik!"
And That was the only thing I could say. Am I dreaming or is this real? Like, Was he really, Like really holding me right now? I was in his arms. He was looking at me and I was looking at him. We didn't say a word. The party was going on and I was there, in the middle of the hall, in his arms. People around us were dancing, and there I was, paralyzed mentally. My heart beat was racing and my mind stopped working. I didn't know what to do and how to react. I was blank. Completely blank. He was continuously looking at me and I was lost in his eyes. I could feel nothing, nothing at all. My mind and my heart were at war.
Finally, after composing myself, I pushed him away and ran outside the hall.
(As Manik)
I was still standing there, she was gone. I saw her after two years. Things are so much different now.
"MAANIKKK!!" Someone screamed. I turned to see who it was.
"Cabiirrr!" I shouted excitedly.
I was heading towards him when suddenly someone hugged me from behind. It was Mukti.
"Damn you, Manik! I will kill you!" She shouted.
"Whoa Whoa! Kill me?" I asked.
"Yes! Tu ab araha haiii? Mujhe laga tu ayega he nahii!"
"I postponed my shoot just to attend this wedding."
"Yeah right, how can we forget ab to tum The rock star or should I say The Superstar Manik Malhotra ho.." Said Alya.
"Alyaa! I missed you! I missed you all!!" I said.
"Buddy, We're so happy to see you. We missed you too!" Said Dhruv.
"Come-on guys, we need a group hug!" I said.
"Yes! It's been a long timee!" Mukti added.
And finally, after two long years, I was living this moment. The Fab 5 Group hug! God, How much I missed this.
"But Manik, tujhe Pata hai Navya kis se shadi karahi hai?" Asked Mukti.
"Navya? Navya bhe shadi karahi hai? I asked, in a shocked state.
Mukti widened her eyes and looked at me, "What do you mean? Navya ki he to shadi horahi hai! Tujhe bulaya kisne hai yahan?" She asked.
"What? Navya ki shadi horahi hai? What the! Cabir, kya mazak hai yeh?" I asked, looking at Cabir angrily.
"Mazak? What Mazak? This is serious. I don't do such Mazaks, Manik Malhotra." Said Cabir, trying to act all serious.
"Cabir!" I said, in a serious yet dangerous tone.
"O-Oh! Baba-e-Manik, I'm scared!" Said Cabir flashing his evil smile.
"What's going on? Tu yahan aya kiskey kehne pe hai agar tujhe yehi nahi pata kay navya ki shadi hai?" Asked Dhruv.
"Dude! Cabir called me and said kay uski shaadi horahi hai! I didn't know kay this black and white Madhubala is getting married. Damn! Cabir, I'll kill you. Aur wesay, hai kon wo bahadur sipahi jo Navya Naveli se shaadi karne ki himmat karaha hai?" I asked, addressing everyone.
Everyone started laughing. I was confused.
"What? What's so funny?" I asked, widening my eyes.
"You! You are so funny Manik.." Said Cabir, laughing crazily.
I gave him that angry look of mine. "What are you saying? What do you mean?" I asked, angrily.
They were all continuously laughing and I had no Idea what was going on.
"Manikk..tu na..tu chorde. Tujhse na ho payega!" Said Mukti.
"Fine! Jo karna hai karo. Mae jaraha hun!" I said, and turned away to leave.
"Ruk ruk ruk.." Said Cabir holding my hand, "Acha sun.." He said. He was still laughing.
"Manik! Tu sahi jaga aya hai, Cabir ki he shadi hai!" Said Dhruv.
"What? So, what about Navya?" I asked.
"Fark bas itna hai kay Cabir or Navya aik dusre se he shadi karahe hain.." Said Mukti, holding her stomach as she was unable to control her laughter.
What the? I was shocked to hear that. Cabir and..and..Madhubala? No, like seriously? Cabir is Marrying Black and White Madhubala?
"Ye mazak haina?" I asked, looking towards cabir.
"I wish! Par ab to phasgaya mae.." Replied Cabir.
"Shit! Tu Navya se shadi karaha hai?" I cried.
"Han to. Tujhe karni thi kya?" He replied.
"What The?" I said.
"Nahi, tu bol aise raha hai jaise tujhe us se shadi karni thi or mene tere hissay par kabza karlya!" Said Cabir.
"Shutup, Cabir." I said, hitting his shoulder.
"Ouch! Acha waisay, on a serious note.. Yes, I'm Marrying Navya!" Said Cabir.
"Why didn't anyone tell me about this, before?" I asked angrily.
"Kyu? tu koi asman se tapki hui pari hai jo tujhe pata hota? Humey bhi aj he pata chala hai, Infact, abhi thori der pehle he.." Said Mukti.
Oh.
"Okay, Anyways..Congratulations Cabir!" I said and side hugged Cabir.
"Waisay, tumlog sab kab aye?" I asked.
"Um, Aj subha he. We thought you won't come!" Replied Mukti.
"How could I even Miss Cabir's wedding?" I said looking at Cabir.
"That's like Manik Malhotra! Anyways, chalo guys, lets have some funn! It's a reunion of Fab 5!" Said Alya.
"Yeah, lets go!" Said Cabir.
"But Wait, Nandini Kahan hai?" Asked Mukti.
My eyes widened hearing Nandini.
"Han wo, she went outside abhi, thori der pehle.." I said immediately.
"You met her?" Asked Cabir.
"No, I mean..Yes. I mean, no. She was just passing by, I saw her." I replied hesitating.
"Okay. chalo, let's go. She'll come back. Navya bhe yahan nahi hai, shayad usi kay sath hogi." Said Cabir.
"Yeah, Okay." Said Mukti and we went towards the pool side.
Meanwhile, in the Girl's room.
(As Nandini)
Oh God, why? Not again, pleasee! Why is he back? he wasn't coming, right? Phir kyun aya woh? Aii appa!! Why do you do this? Anyways, Nandini Murthy, why is he affecting you? Stop thinking about him, okay? Dear mind, stop arguing with the heart and dear heart, Just shut the f**k up!
Damn, I cursed the moment jisme I decided to attend this wedding.
"Nandu!" I heard. It was Navya.
"Han Navya, kya hua, tum yahan?" I asked.
"Hum yahan matlab? Tum yahan kia karahi ho? Wahan se aisey kyu agai?" She asked me.
"Nahi, wo my dress..something was wrong with it So I came here to fix it."
"Oh, Acha. Chalo, hum chalte hen phir, tum jaldi se ajana neechey!" She said and turned to leave.
"Aik Minute Navya, suno!" I said.
She turned back and asked, "Han?"
"Manik..I mean, tumne to kaha ta wo nahi ayega so..?"
"Wo agaya?" She asked, widening her eyes. She was shocked though.
I nodded my head in a yes.
"Ye kaisay hosakta hai? Usne to kaha tha wo nahi ayega, uski shootings thien. Or Nandu, Manik ko humney nahi, Cabir ne bulaya tha. Usi ne humay bataya tha kay wo nahi ayega."
"Oh..Maybe, he wanted to surprise everyone." I said.
"Hosakta hai.." She replied.
Just then, Navya got a text message from Cabir. It said, "Come to the poolside. We're here..Bring Nandini with you aswell."
"what happened?" I asked.
"Kuch nahin, Cabir hai. He's calling us to the poolside." Said Navya.
Oh. Nandini Murthy, you have to face it. Don't be scared.
"Lets go then." I said.

As we reached the poolside, I saw Mukti, Cabir, and Dhruv. Manik and Dhruv's back was facing me. I was feeling so awkward and uncomfortable.
"Lo agayeen Dulhanjee!" Said Mukti pointing her fingers towards Navya.
Manik and Dhruv Immediately turned and pfffttt, another awkward eye contact. Damn it, Nandini. Don't look at him! I looked away, breaking the eye contact.
"Oh, Here comes the Madhubala!" Said Manik teasingly.
"Ahan So, Monster Manik is back han?" Said Navya, raising her eyebrow.
Memories started flashing in my mind hearing 'Monster Manik'
"Anyways, Many Many Congratulations!" Said Manik and side hugged Navya. I was standing beside Navya.
"Wow! This feels so good. Feels like home! I'm so happy today" Exclaimed Mukti.
"Chalo ab yeh milna milana hogaya ho tumsab ka to hum andar chalen?" Asked Navya, addressing everyone.
"Yeah, let's go!" Said Dhruv and we all went back to the main hall.
Cabir and Navya were on the stage and the rest of us were standing a little far from the stage. Dhruv and Mukti were busy discussing about their lives and Alya was on a phone call. Manik was standing there but we were not talking. We were just looking here and there and I was trying my best to avoid him when suddenly, he said, "Hi.."
Is he talking to me? No. Maybe he's talking to someone on the phone.
I didn't look at him. I was looking in the opposite direction in order to avoid him. "Nandini..Hi.." He said. Omg! He is actually talking to me. Shit! Ayii apppaa! What are you doing Nandini? Answer him. Don't be so rude!
I looked at him and said, "Hi.." I was hell nervous.
"Kaisi ho?" He asked.
What do I say? Oh God, Help me somoene!
"Theek, and you?" I replied hesitatingly.
"Fine.." He said in a low voice.
And then again, there was a pin drop silence.
"So?" He asked, breaking the silence.
"So..?" I said raising my eyebrows.
"So..How's life?" He asked.
Life's a mess! But wait, why do I tell him? I'm happy. I'm very happy.
"Life..Life's great. Everything is so perfect!" I said, faking a smile.
"Oh..Good to hear that!" He said with a smile on his face. I just smiled back and didn't say anything.
He kept looking at me and I could feel his strong gaze but I stayed calm and acted all normal in front of him. After 10 minutes, he finally excused himself and went to the washroom. Thank God! I said and took a deep breath.
