Chapter 7 Lie-o-lie-o-o-lie😆
'Stay with me...' he whispered again..pulling at her hand slightly.
Nandini didn't say anything but got closer and sat on bed side.
'Did I sleep for too long?' he asked as his eyes closed as he blinked sleepily.
'No...just a few minutes...what happened to you? Who hurt you?' Nandini asked trying to make him speak something.
'I...I don't know...' he said as he knit his brows together trying to remember why actually he is hurt.
'You know...you have a swelling on your head and doctor asked me to let you rest. So I'll sit outside' Nandini said trying to get up.
He pulled her back closer to him as she fell half upon him. Her hands resting on his chest..her hair falling all over, Nandini found herself in a half reclining posture. 😆
'Don't go...I don't want to be alone' he whispered softly.
'No...I'm outside...you need to sleep...' Nandini whispered softly to him.
He suddenly raised his hand and combed her hair off her cheeks and tucked the locks of hair behind her hair. That gentle caress was unexpected to Nandini and her heart beat faster now. Nandini tried to get up..but he was holding her other wrist tight.
'Are you feeling pain?' Nandini asked with a worried expression on her face.
'hmm...' he whispered as he suddenly became aware of the pain that was growing
'Distract me!!' he mumbled.
'Distract? Par kaise?' Nandini asked with a perplexed look on her face.
'Kaise bhi' he said as he touched his head once again on the part that was now having a bandage.
'hmm...jaante ho...maine tumhe pehle dekha hai...' Nandini whispered softly.
'Achcha?' his eyes grew wide with curiosity. 'Kahan pe?'
'You may not believe it...maine tumhe sapne main dekha hai' Nandini said a bit reluctantly.
'Sapne main?' he asked as a little smirk appeared on his face.😛
'Haan...sapne main...and I couldn't believe it..when I saw you for real! I wondered...how can it be that U could be real!' Nandini mumbled in a confused tone.
'Hmm..dekho mujhe..main tho real hoon' he said with a little smile on his face.
'Haan..magar sapne main tum thode se alag the..' Nandini said feeling a bit distracted by his smile.
'He has such a beautiful smile...I should look somewhere else'
Nandini turned her head a bit sideways and looked out through the window as she continued...
'hmm...tum clean shaven the...dikhne main aur bhi handsome the...'
'Achcha handsome?' he asked with a smirk😛
'No..I mean...' Nandini paused on her tracks realizing what mess she has created for herself😕😆
'Haan..ok continue...' he said with a little smile on his face.
'hmm...aur tum mere taraf badh rahe the..' Nandini said as a slight blush crossed her face.
'hmm...and then?' he asked getting more and more interested in this story.
'And then...nothing...I woke up from my sleep' Nandini said in a casual tone.
'hmm...I wish I could get into your dream for real...' he said with a little shine in his eyes.
'Tum wahan the na?' Nandini said
'arre wo main nahi..mere humshakal hai...main hota tho aise hi aage nahi badhte rehta' he said with a little smirk.
'phir?' Nandini asked her eyes widening with a questioning look in them.😕
'main paas aata...aur tumhaare haath ko yun pakadta' he said showing her the wrist that he was holding. 😳
'phir?' Nandini asked in a questioning look. 😕
'phir...tumhe apni aur aise kheechta' he said pulling Nandini closer to him.
Nandini's eyes grew wide in shock as she felt herself so close to him that her lips were just few inches away from her.
He silently gazed at her from her eyes down to her lips...and back to her eyes.
'phir...main tumhaare gaal ko yun choota' he said touching her cheek gently tracing his fingers down her right cheek with his left hand.
Nandini felt herself mesmerized by his touch which was so gentle that it felt like the touch of a feather. It was so tender..so comforting...that her eyes closed lightly as she felt his fingers go down her cheeks to her neck as his palm moved through her hair and behind her neck..holding her there...as he pulled her a bit more closer to him.
Nandini's eyes snapped open in shock.
'y..ye...tum kya kar rahe ho?' Nandini asked pulling herself away off his grip with an angry look on her face.
'maine kuch real main nahi kiya ab tak...I said I would do this..if I were in your dream...' he said with a smirk.😛
'nahi mujhe aise dream nahi dekhne' Nandini said with a fake anger on her face. 😡
'arre par kyon? aage jaanna nahi chahogi..ke maine kya kiya? he asked as he bit his lower lip slightly with a naughty smile.
'nahi...tum so jaao..doctor ne kaha hai ke tumhe rest chahiye..I'll be outside and tumhe koi zaroorat ho..tho nurse ko bulaana' Nandini frowned as she got up from the bed.
His fingers were still gripping her wrist.
'Chodo' Nandini said looking at her wrist.
'hmm..tum meri nurse bano na...' he said with a little smile. 😳
'nahi...mujhe nurse nahi banna' Nandini said with a frown.
'tho achcha chalo..doctor ban jaao' he said biting his lower lip and getting amused by her frown. 😛
'tumko doctor chahiye..tho main abhi bulaake laati hoon' Nandini said as she pulled her hand off his hand and fumed out of the room.
He looked at her as she closed the door behind her...his face forming into a wide smile. 'She is indeed cute...she said sorry to me...held my cheek...shed tears for me...was worried for me...yet she is frowning at me...' 😳
The nurse suddenly opened the door and entered and said to him
'Mr. Manik...U must rest nicely. Your friend is waiting outside. She needs some rest too. Here's the medicine..it is a pain-killer and it will soothe the pain and give you a good sleep'
'Mera naam Manik?' he asked with a confused look on his face. 😕
'Yes...your friend told us that your name is Manik Malhotra and you are her friend..now please take this medicine' the nurse said offering a capsule and a glass of water. He nodded as he took the capsule and put it in his mouth and drank the water as he gulped down the capsule.
'Thanks aunty' he said with a smile.
'Bete..call me nurse..not aunty' she said with a smile.
'Aapne tho abhi beta bulaaya hai..tho aapko main aunty hi bulaaoonga' he said with a smile.
'Ok...off duty...you can call me aunty...but in front of others..nurse'😛
'Ok done...' he said with a thumbs up. 👍🏼
The nurse shook her head with a smile as if the smile said
'ye nahi sudhrega'😆 and got out of the hospital room smiling.
Nandini saw the nurse coming out of the room with a smile on her face.
'Kya hua? Why are you smiling?' Nandini asked her.
'Wo ladka...tumhaara kya lagta hai?' she asked with a smile.
'Wo...wo mera dost hai' Nandini said a bit hesitantly 'usne andar kuch bola kya?'
'Nahi...bahut pyaara hai...mujhe aunty bulaa raha tha...aur jab maine bola ke bete..mujhe nurse bulaao tho bola ke maine beta bulaaya tho mujhe aunty hi bulaayenge...bada ziddi hai' 😳
Nandini smiled hearing the story of the nurse and she walked over and look in through the see-through glass part of the ward door. She saw that he was looking towards the door and he caught her looking at him. He smirked suddenly and she backed off.
'Aiyappa...abhi iska bhi ye koi aur matlab na nikaale' Nandini thought as she went back and sat on the bench. 😕
'She is truly cute...' he thought as he closed his eyes and smiled in his sleep. 😳
Nandini also propped her head against the bench and dozed off.
Minutes..passed by...was it minutes or hours?😕😆
Nandini's phone started ringing and the sound of the phone ringing woke her up from her sleep. She didn't know how long she slept. She rubbed her eyes and look at the phone. It's her chachi calling from India. 😳
'Hello chachi?' Nandini asked with a smile on her face.
'Haan Nandu...tu kaisi hai?' Chachi asked with a smile on her face.
'Main thik hoon chachi..aap kaisi ho?' Nandini asked with a smile.
'Main tho ekdum first class hoon..bataa wahan pe kya kya ho raha hai..aaj class nahi gayi kya?' Chachi asked with a confusion in her tone.
'Wo chachi...kal zor ki baarish hui thi...aur raaste bandh hai..tho college nahi jaa paayi' Nandini replied.
'Achcha chal..tune khaana khaaya? Wahan pe tho abhi shaam ho rahe haina?' Chachi asked in a concerned voice.
'Haan chachi..khaa liye' Nandini replied but felt a bit awkward telling a lie for the first time in her life. She had forgotten to have lunch due to the whole incident and she only had the breakfast yet.
'Achcha chachi..chacha kaise hai?' Nandini asked with a smile.
'Ekdum first class...abhi office se call kiye the...aaj thode se der se aayenge..magar Rishu mere saath hai..tho akeli nahi hongi'
'Achcha...' Nandini whispered. Suddenly she saw the nurse and the doctor walking towards the ward.
'Achcha chachi..main aapko baad main na call karoongi..mujhe abhi apne friend ke ghar jaane hai' Nandini lied once again.
'Achcha beta..apna khayaal rakhna..aur call karte rehna' Chachi said in a loving voice.
'Haan chachi...rakhti hoon' Nandini said this and cut the call.
She got up and looked at the doctor. The doctor was about to enter the ward and she got next to him.
'He is ok na?' Nandini asked the doctor in a worried voice.
'Haan thik tho lag rahe hai..magar beech main jab hosh aaya tha..tho maine usse baat ki..lagta hai ke girne ke wajah se...khud ke baare main usko kuch yaad nahi hai...bahut zor se gira tha kya?' doctor questioned Nandini.
'Haan doctor...' Nandini said worried as to what more questions will come her way. 😕
'Achcha...uske gharwaalon ko inform kiye?' the doctor asked in a concerned tone.
'Wo doctor...uske gharwaale India main hai..aur hum dono roommates hai...hum dono students hai' Nandini cooked up a story.
'Achcha...phir bhi..gharwalon ko inform kardo..koi na koi tho aayenge hi na?' doctor suggested to Nandini.
'Haan doctor...karloongi...kya usko aaj hi discharge milega?'
'Nahi..aaj raat ko..we'll keep him under observation..kal subah ko discharge kar doonga' the doctor said and also jotted down some more medicines for Nandini to buy and gave the list to her.
The doctor, the nurse and Nandini entered the room and hearing the door open, he opened his eyes and looked at them and smiled.
'Hello..Mr. Manik Malhotra...how are you feeling now?' the doctor asked.
'Better..much better...' he replied with a smile on his face trying to get up.
'No..don't try to get up..lete raho..U need more rest.'
'Doctor...main kab discharge ho jaaoonga yahan se? Mujhe kuch yaad kyon nahi aa raha hai?' he asked with a perplexed expression on his face.
'You can go back home with your room mate tomorrow morning and I'm sure she will take good care of you till you are better. Poora din..bahut worried thi and kept on asking me of your condition' the doctor said with a smile to him.
'Achcha?' he said with a smile on his face as he looked at Nandini who was standing behind the doctor. Nandini hid away behind the doctor blocking his view of her. He smiled seeing the way she was playing hide and seek. He stretched his neck a bit to the left and he could see her again and he winked at her. 😉
Nandini looked away as she felt her heart beating wildly.
'I don't know who he is...I don't know if he is a nice man or a criminal even then ...Aiyappa...but why is my heart beating so fast?'😕
