"Manik ?"

Manik dragged Cabir , coming inside the living room and both were sitting on two different couches

Clock ticked..5 minutes ...10 ...15...1hour and they both just sat there thinking, both not able to start the conversation

Finally Manik got up to go home , planning to speak to Cabir a few days after , when the matter cooled down a little .

As soon as he reached the door , Cabir spoke " Nandini is angry with you , won't you pacify her ?"

Manik looked at Cabir startled . Nandini was Cabir's only family left now , after their parents death in US .his very protective instincts came naturally from the grave loss he had suffered .

Manik wasn't able to judge what to speak and what not to .

"Cabir ,wohh.."

"its Nandini haina ..."

"Cabir ..."

" just say it once , yourself "

"Cabir ...I'm sorry dude ..."Manik held Cabir by his shoulder , trying to lighten the things between them

" Manik , youuu..." and suddenly a punch was on the way to his face , just in time for Manik to hold it in his hands

" bro , ek already teri behen se le chukka hoon ...not more please " he said smirking

Now Cabir was hitting Manik playfully and both were in bouts of laughter

After laughing Manik spoke serious tone " yaa ...its your sister "

Cabir looked at him , wondering what his reaction should be

When Manik spoke again " I'm in love with Nandini and she ..."

"doesn't know ?" Cabir completed

Cabir pushed Manik smiling " gooo ...pacify her . she's very angry with you "

Manik looked at Cabir with a smirk and instantly hugged him

" you know how much you scared me ...youuu.." before he could complete Cabir hit him playfully again

"you should be and you better be , if you want to date my sister . get it " he said laughing

Cabir knew Manik since the longest time , it was unusual of Manik to be discreet about anything to him

From his first crush to his family problems , Cabir knew it all but this !. when Manik had rejected alia , he knew there was something deep or rather grave . he had observed Manik lost in thoughts often and he was sure that definitely he was very serious about the girl ..wait his sister he corrected himself now

Manik knocked for nth time , the door didn't open

Finally he stopped for a few minutes and his trick worked

Nandini opened the door to look whether he had left and got caught .

Manik held her hand tightly and entered her room , closing the door soon to avoid further problems

Nandini was hell angry

She stomped her foot and went to her chair , acting all engrossed in her work , while all the time watching him with the corner of her eye

Manik was smirking seeing her antics .

She was cute , bundle of cotton like petite girl who he wanted to cocoon in his arms right now , especially with the typical baby antics like stomping her foot .

"Nandini ..."

"oh ! soo suddenly , I'm important right ? why ? ..."

"Nandini , it isn't like that ..."

"yeah , that's why you missed my 20 calls and innumerable messages and ignored me and walked away in the college "

"understand , wohhh cab.." Manik stopped himself , while Nandini looked on

He continued " sorry ...I'm really sorry " he said holding his ear

Nandini for a few minutes , held her face with a lot of attitude , not looking at him

But his sweet face , especially his eyes were too difficult to ignore longer

And the mask fell

"its ok " she said , taking his hands form his ears

Using the chance Manik slowly held Manik by her waist close to himself

"soo ...I'm forgiven soo easily...no punishment ?"

"you want one " Nandini asked innocently with her doe eyes wide

"hmm"

" what punishment do you want ?"

Manik suddenly left her and started laughing at her , sitting on the bed

When Nandini spoke

"Manik , you and bhai fought naa "

"noo ..."

"I know , bhai doesn't get upset unless its about you or me , others he'll laugh off things ..and the last time he was upset was my birthday when ...youu..err."

"yaa "Manik spoke instantly , he didn't want Nandini to speak about alia , he didn't know why . Probably because he knew it would sting her as well .

"we are sorted now "

"really ...that's soo good " she said excitedly hugging Manik while he looked on

His hand was on the small of her back , placed very lightly while her head rested on his chest and his face in her hair , nuzzling her fresh lavender from her silky hair giving intoxicating him , just like the fragrance did when he was away for the concert

"Manik , you're punishment " she spoke , still in his arms

"hmm "he said , lost in the embrace , tucking her more tightly near him

"is you have answer 3 questions for me . will you ?"

"what ?"Manik looked wide -eyed at this girl

Manik's pov

Her demands would surely kill me , she is definitely gonna ask something "not so easy to answer " things

His mind was boggled now

How would he answer ...what would he answer !

Wait ...he knew the answers , but telling her ?

God! Only her aiyaapa has to save me

"Manik ...?"

"yeah . fine ...ask but I 'll answer only one of them "he said sending a fervent prayer upwards

She held his hand and both were sitting in the room, on the floor leaning on the bed walls

"next "he answered smirking

" do you like someone ?" she asked , Manik could see how she had closed her eyes and subconsciously was holding the hem of his tee tightly in her hand , due to nervousness

He wanted to tease her now . what a better moment than this !

He pulled her little closer while she opened her eyes shocked

"sooo you want to know ...whoo I like ...is it ?" he asked in his husky voice , sending a chill down her spine

"nooo...i ...meannn"she was blabbering , not knowing how she had asked him this herself !

He came dangerously close to her face and whispered

"next "

Nandini's pov

Nandini , ask him that . ask him that finally

She shut her eyes again and spoke

For if she looked into his eyes now , her question would definitely be lost

"Manikkk...you don't give gifts to people naa ...but you gifted me on my birthday ...and you told me to figure it out ...but "

"soo you haven't still figured out the gift haan ..Miss scientist "he said with a smirk

Off course he knew he hadn't figured out the gift , for if she did

She would never need to ask the 2 questions before .

For is she did , she would know everything

Manik got up to leave , when Nandini asked "that's cheating !""you're supposed to answer one question "

"who said I won't miss murthy ,"she said tucking her hair behind her ear

"Tomorrow evening , be ready at your best and I''ll pick you up "

"where ?"

"ummm..let this be a surprise for now , till then you see the gift and untangle the loop "

He said and instantly kissed her forehead whispering "good night "and left before Nandini could react to what was happening

He was opening the room door , when he turned back "I ll talk to Cabir , don't worry " he said smirking

And left

How could he figure out everything on my mind

Aiyappa ! am I sure its him ? will things fall in place ?
