(I was almost reaching the final stages of my cooking...still in the kitchen...I cud hear some big noise as if something being dragged,and heard our door being opened...)

Manik:( from the door) nandu kahan ho tum..

Me: mein toh kitchen mein ho...aur manik yeh awaz kaisi aa rahi thi...

Manik: voh kuch nahi...neeru ne kuch niche gira diya tha... Isliye..

(He came to the kitchen)

Me: toh kahan the itne der ?

Manik: bolke toh gaya tha na?...voh sab chodo...dikhaoo kya kya banaya hain...

(I gave each and evry dish to taste ...and asked for suggestions)

Manik: vow...nandu sach me sab bahut achi banii...mujhe toh abhi se bhuk lag rahi hainn...

Me: thnk u...mr malholtra

Manik: ab kaam sab ho gaya hain na..tum jao fresh ho jao..dekho time its 5:30pm

Me: are...itna time ho gaya meine toh dekha hi nahi...

Manik: jaoo na tum..

Me: ruko maanik..voh chutki ke liye bhi kuch desert bana leti hoon..varna tume pata hain na voh mujhe khaa jayegii...

Manik: voh phir bana lena...( yeh ladki ko samjana kitna mushkil hai)

(I was thinking yeh mujhe bagaa kyun raha hain)

Me: acha 10 mins phir chali jaungi..

(His face lit up hearing this...I was completely astonished with his behavior)

Manik:acha 10 mins ok... saying this he went to hall( I guess)

Me: isse kya ho gaya..sach mein pyaar mein paagal toh nahi ho gaya ...

mean while I was almost done with the desert

He came back again..

Manik: tum abhi tak gayi nahi...

Me: dekho ho gaya ...jaa rahi hoon 2mins...

Manik: jaldi jao

Me: manik sach mein bataao chakkar kya hai tum mujhe baghaa kyun rahe ho..

Manik: wat ?? mein tumhe...nai toh...

Me: toh phir yeh baar baar aakar mujhe jaaane ko kyun keh rahe ho

Manik: voh naa...dekho kitni gandi smell aa rahi hain tumne nahaya nahi hain na issliye..

Me:( I was feeling like..chii...sach mein am I smelling bad isliye ?? I started smelling my dress but no..it wasn't that bad...then I thot may b ...i decided to go...) ok..i will go...

Manik: very good.. (in excitement he hugged me)

(I was like abhi abhi toh yeh keh rah tha ki...nw hes hugging me...sach me daal mein jaroor kuch kaalaaa hain...yeh kuch chupa raha hain...)

Manik then pushed me the room ..and said bye darling ...ready ho jao sham ke liya...take your own time

Me: he always had a complaint ki mein jaldi ready nahi hotiii and now hes telling me take my own time...anyways I stopped thinking further and went to the bathroom.had bath...then came back to the room to get ready.

I chose a red saree to wear...I was done with the sari...now started my struggle to tie the dori of my blouse...manik entered..i was standing, facing the mirror he came from the back which I cud see through the mirror

Manik: Wow nandu luking gorgeous (he said this while hugging me from back.looking into the mirror)

Me: achaa sach mein...

Manik: (he tightened his grip mover my waist )yes as always...(then he mved his hand towards my dori)...mujhe bula leti...(nd tied it)

Me: (I was blushing)..mm...acha ab tum jao ready ho jao...pooja bhi karni hai ..(saying this I took my bangles and I was about to wear it)

Manik: hmm...pehle mujhe apna kaam karne do...jo sirf mera haq hai

(he took the bangles from my hand ...and made me wear it...then kissed my forehead ...his fore head kisses never cease to send shivers to my spine...usne apne haathom mein sindoor liya aur meri maang bhari...phir mangalsutra pehnaya...then his favourite mere jhumke..he loved to do it)

Manik :nandu you r so beautiful...I LOVE YOU NANDU..I REALLY LOVE YOU

Me: I LOVE YOU TOO MANIK

He pulled me towards him and hugged me tightly...I too hugged him back...we stood like that for a while...then I was trying to break the hug

Manik: plzz nandu thodi der aur...

Me: hmmm...2 mints ok...

Then I broke the hug

Me: chalo manik...get ready ...and I pushed him to the bathroom

Manik: nahi..nandu plss...thodi aur der...

Me: bas bas ab chalo... Saying this I locked him otherwise he would nt go...

Manik: (inside bathroom )tumne darwaaza lock kar diyaaa...you monster...u ll hav to pay for this.

Me: haa haan pay kar dungi.jaldi aa jana (saying this I quietly opened the lock of his bathroom nd ran away)

Manik: ok maadam...

It was almost 6:30 Meine tab tak pooja ki thaal bhi ready kar li thi...in one corner of our hall humne aiyappa ki photo set ki thi pooja ke liye..

Me: manik aao na...

Maanik: aaya baba...

(He came running just in a minute in his red and black shervani.luking dashing as alwaysss...)

Me: yahan aao mere saath yeh thaal pakadoo

Manik :nandu... mein yeh sab..

Me: shhh...pakado mere saath yeh thaal...

(We together did the pooja and artii and all.)

(I prayed to ayiappa.. give us strength to be good and to be good to others and give the worlds whole happiness to manik chacha chachi ams rishab fab5 navya and chutki...manik was listening to my prayers)

Manik: tumhe apne liye kuch nahi maangaa

Me: mere paas tum ho, toh iska matlab hai ki I'm always haapyy na .aur isse jyaada mujhe kuch chaahiye bhi nahii

Manik: pata hain nandu...tumhaari yahin selfless behavior mujhe tumhari aur khinchithi thi...

Me: ( I was smiling) its nothing like that ok...Ab voh sab chodooo its our gift time...

Manik: ( he was damn excited)oh yess...so its tym...

Me: aree tumhe toh yaad nahi...tha na...phir gift kaise??

Manik( he pulled by holding my waist): tume kya laga...mei bhool jaaungaa...

Me:entangled my hands around his neck: mujhe pata tha tum kabhi nahi bhoologee ...DIWALI...

(With a smirk on his face...)

Manik: achaaa..toh close your eyes...(.he covered my eyes using his hand and made me walk..)ab chalo

Me: kahan jaa rahe hum

Manik: abhi pata chalege...dekho don't open your eyes.. mein abhi aata hoon..i guess we were in our hall...he came back and stood in front of me

Manik: open your eyes..

I opened my eyes..he kept his hands on my shoulders ..he was slowly leaning towards my neck, I closed my eyes,he kissed me on the right side of my neck...I was lost in it... manik malhotras Diwali gifts were only received after this...bcz it reminded us of our very own first Diwali.and we never wanna forget that beautiful moment...

Manik: (He cupped my face) HAPPY DIWALI NANDU... saying this he moved a bit to show me the gift.

Me : (I was shocked to see...that...it was VEENA...i went near it started playing with the strings. )...manik manik...tumhee yaad thaaa...

(Flash back

1 week before

Manik and me, we both were watching tv...manik was changing the channels...suddenly I saw a girl playing veena

Me: manik ,voh channel rakho na...jisme ek girl veena play kar rahi thi...

Manik changed the channel

That girl was playing veena beautifully

Me:wow manik dekho wo kitna achha play kar rahi hai..uskke sur bhi kitne pakke hain

Manik: Well uska toh pata nahi.par once my wife also used to play it beautifully..but ab voh kahan hain,pata nahi

Me: ya manik,kitne saal ho gaye mujhe veena play karte huee..kya mein bhool gayi hoon pata nahi..

Manik: aise kaise bhoologi..bachpan se tum sikh rahi thi ,itni jaldi thodi na bhoologi...(he took a pause nd then) ...nandu ek baat bolu

Me: hmmm

Manik: tum sach mein bohut talented ho,tumhari voice bhi itni achi hain na,I don't want ki tumhari yeh voice iss chaar diwar ke andar dab jaye.. kabhi kabhi free times milne par apne andar ke music ko refresh kiya karo...

Me:ya I really understand manik...mujhe abhi play karne ka mann kar raha hain,par mera veena tho mangalore mein hain aur college mein library ka use karthi thi

Flashback ends )

Me: I ran towards him hugged him so tightly...and kissed his cheeks.i luv u maanik thank u so much...mein bahut khush hoon

Manik: (still hugging)so now can I get back my classical singer nandini moorthy

Me: just wait and watch I ll be back...toh yeh chupane ke liye tum mujhe bagaa rahe the naa.?

Manik: aur nahi toh kya pata hain kitni mushkil se yeh yaahan chupa ke rakha tha..

Me:achaaa...

Manik: ( breaks the hug ) so now...

Me: yes its my turn...

Manik:lagta hain iss baar mein hi jeetungaa

Me: jyaada over confident mat hona...iss baar mein hi jeetungi...

Manik: achaa ,toh itna confidence..so now my expectations are high ok ...

Me: ok...wait and close your eyes

(I ran towards the bedroom ,took my gift returned to him)

Manik: nandu...

Me: haan mein aa gayi ..ab aankhen kholo...and apne dono haath aage karo..(usne apne dono haath age kiye and giving a sweet kiss on his forehead I gave him the envelope)

Manik:he luked at the envelop and read HAPPY DIWALI MY MONSTER...yeh kya kya

Me: jyaada baathaien mat karo open it na..

(He opened the gift wrapper...)

Manik: City Hospital Mumbai...nandu yeh kya...kya hua tume...(he started to panic)

Me: Manik relax..calm down, tumhe English padna nahi aata kya...open and read it na

Manik opened it and read : Nandini Malhotra , 24 yrs,

PREGNANCY TEST POSITIVE

His was completely shocked...I took one of his hand ,and kept on my belly...

Me: so Mr Manik Malhotra ,juzt get ready to enjoy the new phase of you life..to love and to be loved as a dad...some one inside is waiting to call u DAD...

(Still he was completely blank..i shook him with my hand)

Me: manik kuch toh expression do...

(He suddenly came back out of his world...)

Manik: ( completely excited)...nandini mein ,voh mein... dad ban ne jaa raha hoon,,I... I ...I cant believe this

Me: I pinched him ,its real manik

Manik: (he cupped my face hurriedly kissed my forhead ,eyes, cheeks, nose ,chin finally lips) I luv you nandini thank u thank u thank u so much..isse acha gift duniya mein kuch nahi ho sakta...

He then kneeled down,removed my saree from the belly,hugged me tightly around my waist ...and kissed and caressed my belly

Manik: (looking at my belly )..:hai...I'm u r dad...dekho I m waiting for u jaldi bahaar jao I want to see you now..

Me: ( looking down)manik patience rakho..it will take almost 7 months more

Manik: ok...but dekho jab tum aaoge na ...hum na ek saath kelenge,guitar play karenge, gaana gayege, cartoon dekhenge.ok...and I luv u ...I m waiting...he again kissed his baby..inside my belly and stood up

Me: happy???

Manik: simply happy?? Noo...i m the happiest person on this earth ...today...

(He hugged me tightly once again...)

Manik: toh tum isliye kal half day leave thi ...

Me: yes manik...main kal tumhe batane hi waali thi...par socha ki aaj Diwali hain...issi din huamare pyaar ke rishte ki shuruwaat hui thi...toh socha ki issi din ek aur rishte ki shuruwaat kare

Manik: yes...I luv Diwali...ek Diwali mein muje TUM mili ..aur aaj mera BABY...

(We were lost in our hug...Suddenly our door opened and )

Sweet voice: maanik mujhe bhi hug karo...

(we broke our hug and she just came running and climbed upon manik..manik took her in arms and hugged her...and she wished him Happy Diwali Boyfriend )

Manik: happy diwali my darling

(She is none other than our chutki cabir and navyas 5 yrs old daughter,studying in 1^st standard,she is Maniks pet and She too love him more than any one else...)

Me: achaa sirf maanik ko hug karogi..mujhe nahi...

Chutki:she hugged me ,(but still in maniks arms )haapy Diwali mausii

Me:happy Diwali sweetheart

Navya eneterd: acha toh tum yahan pauch gayi,humne bolot tha na ek saath chalengee...

Cabir too made an entry: toh manik se milne keli ye tu Milkha Singh ki tarah bag rahi thi..mein bas gaadi park karne gaye tha ki yeh gayaab...

Chutki:voh mein...(made a puupy face)

Me:bas bas voh safely pahunch gayi nayi ab mat daanto tum dono usee

Manik:darling, luk at me...ab rona nahi...agar tumhe kuch ho jata toh..voh dono dar gaye the na isliyee...

Chutki:( started crying )

Manik: you are a brave girl na...brave girls itni jaldi nahi rote...dekho tum ro ne lago gi toh mein rone lagoonga... do u want that?

Chutki: no...she strted wiping her tears...

Manik: that's my darling and now give me a kiss..

(Chutki kissed him,and started whispering something in maniks ears)

Manik: acha... kaun?? Yeh navyaaa

Chutki: cabir pa bhi...

(Manik still holding chutki in his hand started walking towards navya...manik was full on angry mode navya started moving backward with fear...and hits with a wall .yeh dono kabhi nahi sudarenge aaj bhi maanik navya ko ussi tarah daaraata hain jaise 6 saal pehle.aur naya hain ki aaj bhi usse utna hi darti thi...)

(He started leaning toeards navya with chutki in his arms)

Manik: hw dare you navya??

Navya : ab kya hua

Manik: tumne meri girlfriend ko chocolate nahi diyaa...yaad hain na...chuhe vaala dustbin...aaj se meri darling ko tum ne chocolate nahi diya toh...

(Navya vahan se baagkar meri piche chupke bolne lagi I ,cabir ,manik and chutki cudnt stop laughing)

Navya: pehle tum uske daant to dekho tum...

Chutki: cabir pa bhi mujhe chocolate nahi dete...unhe bhi daantoo

Cabir: achaa badi aayi maanik ki chamchii ab mujhe daant dilvane ayi hai

Maanik: use toh mein baad mein uske drums sticks se maar doona .ok ?

Chutki:ok..

Me: ab sab chodo...sabi yahin hi khade ho.chalo andar...

We all went to the hall and started chit chatting

Cabir: nandini,bolo yeh aaj sudden change in plan kyun?

Manik: voh na...

(I tried stooping him)

Me: voh kuch nahi cabir.sab ko aane do phir bataaungi...

Navya: are nandu mujhe toh bata de...

Me: no navya abhi nahi...inhe yahaan baatein karne do tum chalo mere saath kitchen mein mittayi banana keliye...

Cabir: haan haan jao jao..do bichade hue behene aaj hi jo mili hain na Sita or Gita,apne ghappe shappe mein yeh mat bhool jane ki hum bhi yahhan baite hain

Me: we will try cabir...

I and navya went to kitchen,started our cooking ,cabir, manik and chutki in his lap sitting on couch

bohot din hogaye navya ko mile hue issliye humare pass gappe laganeke liye topics ki koyi kami nahi thi...voh teeno hall mein baathein kar rahe jo hume thoda bhahut sunayi de raha tha

Cabir: chutki yeh bataa teri aur maanik ki setting kab huyi,matlab tune mujhe pucha bhi nahi aur use boy friend bana diyaa..

Chutki: voh to meine bana diya...

Cabir: achaa tune manik ko kyun boyfriend banaya?dhruv ko kyun nahi ..tumhe dhruv acha nahi lagta kya?

Chutki: voh kya hain na...maanik ne sab se first mujhe I love you bolo tha .toh isliye...

Manik:voh toh hain...

Cabir: acha..yeh kisne bola ki jo I luv u bolta hai voh boyfriend hota hain

Chutki: mujhe pata hai...aisa hi hota hain...

Manik: smart haaa

Chutki: paa,mere class mein jo Anjali aur Arjun hain na voh bhi boyfriend girlfriend hain,arjun ne usko I luv u bola tha ..aur meine suna...aur na unka baby bhi honewala hai...

Cabir and manik in unison: kya?? They cudnt stop laughing even me nd navya tooo

Cabir: yeh kisne batayaa ki unka baby hone wala...

Chutki: voh na..kal lunch brk mein Arjun ne Anjali ke cheeks pe kiss kiya.isliyee

Cabir: ( loudly) navyaaa sun rahi ho na tumari yeh ladli kya bol rahi hain

(Navya from kitchen suna meine kaise nahi bolegi yeh sab zabaan ladana tumse hi toh seekthi hai na..tum kya kam ho...)

Manik: acha chutki yeh tumhe kaise pata hai ki kiss karne se baby hota ,aur hum sab tume kiss karte hain na toh??

Chutki:meine film mein dekha tha...aur bade aur chote log kiss karne se kuch nai hota same class ke log kiss kane se baby hota hain...

Cabir: ab aur nahi.mujhe na chakkar aa rahe...aur sunne ki taakat nahi hain

Chutki: paa...voh na...

(Cabir ne apne haato se uska muh band kar diyaaa...)

Cabir: bas bas chutki.aur nahi...(luking towards manik) 2 mint aur diya toh ye puri biology bata degi

(No one of us cud stop laughing...manik s phn started ringing)

Manik: ek mint dekhta hoon kaun hain...muktiii( he attends the call )

Ha bol mukti,tik hain tu wait kar mein aa raha hoon

Cabir: kya hua ?

Manik: voh mukti ki gaadi kharab ho gayi hain.so I hav to go and pick her up...wait kar mein abhi ayaa( he took his car keys,and luking towards chutki)darling aaja mere saath...nandu mein abhi ayaa

Me: haa ok..jaldi aa jana...boyfrnd nd grlfrnd ghumne math chale jaana...

(They both left for picking up mukti...cabir came to the kitchen,joined us for chit chat)
