Suddenly, she can't fight the world, she stands like a statue when people are commenting on her clothes, she's not fighting back when she's being forced into a saree by random people. Sorry but who's this new person? This is called butchering of a character or maybe they're just doing it to show this track. Either way it doesn't make sense. So yes. That's it!

Because the guilt is eating her up this time. She knows sleeping with him was a mistake. She cheated on the person she claimed to love, I don't know if she realized this but I think she did. Cut her some slack, she's only 19. No one can be strong all the time.

Prob is by arising this now they r nt showing mukti's realization. She do things without thinking twice and then she blame the ppl who try to help her.

No1 is saying that we should judge sm1 bcoz of her lifestyle or stay mum when sm1 send dirty msz to u and treat u like a dirt.
I just want to say today instead of showing mukti crying and silently letting that politician drape her in a saree if they had shown a mukti kicking him and throwing dat saree on his face. I would have liked that scene better.

What guilt? That came up because she slept with a guy who ended up being a D-bag? If he was just a random innocent guy who fell for her trick like say Pandit or Shahid? She won't have had any guilt because she would not have been confronted by her actions. She would have ignored it and moved on , numbing the so-called guilt.

We infact, if you haven't noticed , we want her to be weak , to actually breakdown and realize that she has been leading a pathetic life and that she made many guys victims of the same harassment she has gone through. That is needed.

Nobody is questioning what she went through or her so-called victim status here.

Our problem is overlapping of her mistakes and introspection with a larger than life issue to brush her character flaws.

Once bitten twice shy, I'm sure you've heard this. She did all this with nandini and navya, what happened to that? She was a drug addict, landed in a rehab, what happened to that? She had sex everyday, a new guy everyday, what happened to that? Her friends told her to deal with the heartbreak sensibly, what happened to that? Not once, not twice but she has made mistakes innumerable times. High time she realises what does she want in life. Or maybe high time CVs realise that this character is going nowhere. No growth, neither in terms of maturity nor in terms of habits. And this 'wearing short clothes' bullshit is the last nail in the coffin.

I can't cut her some slack, you see.

Here her remorse is needed because she was on the other side too. The seriousness of this situation needs her to understand her own actions. Because she will again relapse.

[DIV]If a rehab couldn't sort her shit then this won't too. She went to the bar to confront random people about this. When her friend called her out on it , because it was all wrong and senseless. She went defensive- she couldn't see her own wrong there. This is what we fear, that they are going to gloss it using a very sensitive issue and make her forget her own growth and problem.

Why did she break down the very next morning? She has had one night stands before, I don't think she broke down right after. She shaming only worsened it. She went to the bar to confront the guy she slept with. Even if she did sleep with him for the lack of her better judgement, he can't label her as some easy s**t who would sleep with anyone. She went defensive because they told her she shouldn't have gone alone. She's always dealt with her problems on her own, I don't think she appreciates people telling her what to do. The growth will come, probably next week. What else will they have planned? They can't get in one more terminally ill unicorn for her. Let's just see how it plays out. Just hope they don't go all OTT with this.

I don't anyone has any issue with her dress sense or anything in the lines. The thing is that the base and the foundation of this track is not written well. I can't explain how, and what is wrong. But that is messing with our heads.

Mukti is a character who has and maybe always will be unapologetic about her past and present ways. When the track started, I and maybe others too, thought that finally this character will grow up, move on from her past, will be set free from her habit of using sex to numb her pain and forget her past. Because let's be honest, girl or boy, that is wrong.

If a boy would have done that, we all would have jumped on and rant about how that lil s**t is using girls and what not...That is our hypocrisy.

If it was a guy who would have lure in a girl like Mukti did with Shahid and then make fun of her with his friends, like Mukti did, we would have personally send him to hell. That is our hypocrisy.

Just because Mukti is a girl, that doesn't mean what she did will be forgotten. Or at least some of us can't ignore that fact.

I personly think, that this track should have finished last night, that is what I think. But again, Mukti would have thought she have done nothing wrong and would have never changed her ways. What I fear that this track will be used for this issue and leave Mukti where she was standing...

And now that they are dragging this track more and bringing a new sensitive issue in, which if not handled well can ruin the whole track...And more...

I would love to see her grow, to think about her past actions and realize that she has been wrong in her ways...And NOT see her with that unapologetic attitude of hers to move from a guy to the other guy.

But what I think everyone agree is that what happened with her today, that was wrong. She shouldn't be judged by her dress sense. That is wrong. And since when cloths been an issue, wearing a saree doesn't make you a proper and decent woman in the same way wearing a skirt doesn't make you an easy and cheap one. We are young, and we all agree on this. IF it is needed, then other show which are watched by olders should cover this issue.

@Charminggenie: She seemed horrified the morning after. Also felt guilty about the way she treated her friends. She seemed kind of shaken up when she walked out of the room. The realisation only set in deeper when they began shaming her. Then they started with the whole victim blaming thing which over clouded her realisation, I do understand your point regarding that.

You know, I was actually shocked when I saw some posts here, one in particular that that so mercilessly condemned Mukti and MTV for the cause they are raising, that too using such foul language. And more shocking is the number of people who agree with the TMs views. Honestly what difference is there in that mentality and the politicians's mentality? It goes to show that our society has a long long way to go in changing our views. Our society has always been the 1st in condemning those who don't follow the same rules as them. And the sad part is people don't want to change. People enjoy condemning and mocking others. Prejudices seem to rule the society. It is really sad and disappointing that one woman will not support another just because of some prejudices. Honestly if a woman will not understand and accept another, why will men change their mentality towards women?
Thank you for making this post. I thought I was the only one with a different opinion. But honestly I am sad and disappointed today. I have always believed, education may give you knowledge and degrees, but it will never change your attitude and prejudices unless you really want to change.

Prostitutes don't do anything to deserve that. its their profession and people should learn to respect it. No one dreams of being one, they end up one. So no, none of us will ever question or blame a prostitute.

Now coming to Mukti. Why we blame her is not because of her lifestyle, we are calling out on her hypocrisy. When she did the same with Shahid, he was forced to the level of committing suicide, does she regret that? Does she guilt trips over that? No. The problem lies in that. If she goes around bullying people, she should also know how to handle these situations. We don't question people who have casual sex, we are pointing out on Mukti as she is using sex as means to numb her pain. Now that is wrong.

The whole points come down to, we don't say issue or cause is bad, we are just saying had this been handled properly and NOT shows as aftermath of consensual sex, none of us would have raged out the way we did.

My two cents:

I fail to find a correlation between bullying people and being able to maturely handle a similar situation when the target is you. However, Mukti's sheer hyprocrisy is blatantly evident in this sitaution. She has always been depicted as a headstrong, consenting individual who sports a let -the- world be -damned attitude... what's now jarring is that she is trying to apply a completely contrary view point to a very similar situation, the only difference..she is now the target...the one who is directly within the firing range. The issue is definitely worth the limelight .. but more sensitivity is needed to handle it.

Quoted from your post: I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT HERE WHAT MUKTI DOES IN HER LIFE IS NOT THE CONCERN BUT A WRONG HAS TO BE STOPPED NO MATTER WITH WHOM IT HAPPENS

YES! THAT!!! That's what they want to check... The mindset of people who is watching the scene.. Whether they will sit back and analyse the character or just act upon the crime to stop it... 👏👏 Thanks for posting this... And I am not sure why your title says this... Are there people questioning her character and not wanting to stop whatever happening to her??!! Just like the people in positions who are trying to handwash themselves quoting the character of the victim instead of acting on the crime??!! Why divert the focus here??!! 😲
Just quoting myself from my EDT comment!

Never mind of her character and the flow of it in the story as of now... Yes, I don't agree with her way of dealing with things happening around her life... Yes, I have issues with her characterization and the way she has been doing the same thing without any impact from anyone... But that doesn't mean I will have to let things happen like the way it happened to her... Yes, it's not about them... It's about me... And what my mindset is when I see something happening like this in front of me... Will I be sitting and analysing the girl being harrassed - Like how's she dressed, what's her character, why is it happening?? No... I am not sick in my mind for all those thoughts... That's what those people in the bar did... And that's what the media and people in power are doing, just to excuse themselves for not acting on the crime but diverting the minds with reasons for the crime to happen... May be even justify the act of crime with excuses given against the victim... But.. No... I don't want to be manipulated and diverted here... My focus is right on target - on the event that happened to the victim... I will have to stop the wrong things happening then and there... Then it's upto me how I want to deal with the character for later, if that person matters to me...

It's not about Mukti here.. Not about what kind of character she is... Not about whether she remorses for her evil acts or not... It's all about what my mentality is on seeing the ill-thing happening to her... THAT's IT!!! If I am sitting here pin-pointing to her mistakes in the past and leaving her to karma to deal with her, then I have problem with my mentality... Then what good I am doing to the society when I complain "What a sick mentality people"!!! It's high time I correct it now or I will have to sit and watch many more such mental people around me letting things happen to people all around... including me... 'cos they are out there judging my character and my past instead of acting on the evil things happening right in front of them...
