They are not in love yet, I agree with you on that one, but they trust each other, and they've even vocalized it. And for these two, trust equals to love. It's a huge thing. They won't just say "I trust you" for the heck of it, they mean it in every sense. So, Manik not standing up for Nandini or not trusting her at all doesn't sound like him.

Even after Manik broke up with Alya, she chose to cling on to him, and that irked him. He made it clear that it's over, and still she chose to be in her bubble, Manik had to be aloof with her for her to see the reality. And the reason why he never spoke to her after the break up was because he was under the impression that she's still not over him. If he chose to speak to her, that wouldn't have helped her. And Alya is/was still hoping to get back with Manik, now, if Manik acts all sweet or just talks to her about normal stuff, she would have taken it in the wrong way.

Adhira, I am not saying Manik was wrong to break it off. No idea where you got it from. He should have broken it off sooner but whatever works. However, my point is that he needs to treat her with some respect at the very least. They cannot and will not work together as a couple. But Manik needs to effin sit down and talk to her. He has no respect for what they had and it sickens me, TBH.

I love Manik but I cannot justify his behaviour regarding this. And I have been an extremely painful relationship when I was in school as well. While I know we had to break it off, I would have hated it if he behaved like Manik.

If he's thrown into a position where he has to choose fab5 or her, he will choose fab5 and remain mum about his trust, but it doesn't make sense to me that he would question her regarding this. He might stay mum and this might trigger the angst.
