Hello darlings! And how are you all today? I've managed to work myself up into quite a tizzy due to watching yesterday's and today's episodes at an interval of only a couple of hours. Finally got to see yesterdays' repeat telecast of the episode at 3:30 pm this afternoon and summing it up in one word, "Wow!" …In two words, "Spontaneous Combustion!"

And after yesterday's explosive, electrical and highly volatile episode, today's started off extremely sluggishly with a little Bose family get together. But before the epi obviously came the recap and boy-oh-boy, hearing Angad throwing down his challenge to Kripa that he was going to bust up her marriage in a month sure doesn't get old. Ha! Ha!

Okay. Okay. Moving on, the episode started with Prithvi running scared of how he was going to face Karthik after the fiasco the previous night, and telling Damini that Karthik wasn't only his business partner but also his 'good friend'. Good grief! Eleven months ago he didn't even know that he existed and now they are shown to be like childhood buddies. Whatever! I really couldn't care less about what these two get up to. Cuz I'm going to speed up so that we can get to the interesting part of the epi. And interesting it did get in the end, all right.

So anyway, Damini tried to quell Prithvi's misgivings and at this point Mishty made her grand entrance, aggravating Prithvi so much that he very nearly made to hit her and only drew back when Damini stopped him. Mishty however wasn't wasting any time and jumped in with both feet to defend her knight in shining armor, pointing out that even though she had spent the entire night with Zaib, (Eew! Sounds icky, doesn't it?) He was a complete gentleman and hadn't so much as laid a finger on her. And thank heavens for that. Phew! And that he wanted to marry her with her family's blessings. Marching up to Prithvi, she asked him how he would have felt if her marriage to Karthik hadn't worked out? And then she pointed out that Prithvi only objected to her marrying Zaib because he resembled Angad, and also how Zaib had finally helped her get over Angad's death. Hmm! So what she's saying is that he helped her get over himself! Lol.

Cut to Karthik standing brooding over Mishty's desertion when Naina marches up to him and tried to comfort him by reminding him that he would never have had been happy with Mishty because she was in love with someone else. But Karthik is beyond being comforted and spins around and walks away from her, thinking that he knew since he first laid eyes on Zaib that he was going to brew trouble in his life. And then the same old, same old…about him hating Angad and Angad always being responsible for snatching away all his happiness since childhood. Blah! Blah! And now that he was rid of Angad (Ha! That's all you know, sweetie.) His face continued to haunt his life.

The second set start started with Prithvi finally giving in to Mishty's demands and telling Damini that he was happy as long as his sister was happy. In response to this, Damini showed him the day's paper and reminding him of the bad press they'd gotten, flatly stated that the two needed to get married. And finally Kripa decided to make her presence felt, and overheard the talk about Mishty's wedding on entering. Kripa naturally protested and on hearing this Mishty turned Nastyyy, saying that Kripa was only objecting because Zaib resembled Angad and that despite being married to her brother, she was still unable to forget her past. News flash, Mishtoo dear…and neither is she ever going to sweetie. Angad was her past, is her present and will be her future too. So you and your darling brother can bow out now, thank you very much.

Anyhow Prithvi interjects, stating firmly that what Mishty wants will happen. While poor Krips is left there wallowing in her misery, knowing that the only reason Angoo baby was doing this was to extract his revenge from her. You know, I don't remember who said this, but when they were showing the Dubai episodes, somebody put forward the most delicious idea that Zaib should kidnap Kripa and then he could go about extracting his vengeance all he liked with just the two of them, I totally preferred that idea. Why does Mishty have to figure in the equation? Sigh! These scriptwriters should leave 'Wuthering Heights' well alone when they are chalking out their storylines.

So Prithvi swallowing his pride and acting like a good brother of the bride goes calling on the coolly calculating would be groom. Lol. And very cute scene guys, because Zaib displaying a previously hidden domesticated streak is shown pouring tea for Prithvi and asking him how much sugar he took. Damn. And Kripa let him go even after this. Anyhow, Prithvi graciously proclaimed that he wouldn't have a problem with Zaib marrying Mishty, only to have the wind taken out of his sails, when Zaib simply leaned back and drawled out, "Sweet!" and when clueless Prithvi who wouldn't recognize a sardonic tone of voice if it jumped up and bit him on the nose, eagerly ploughed ahead, asking Zaib when he wanted the wedding to take place, even he was shaken out of his reverie when Zaib abruptly announced, 'Kabhi Nahin!' and all I can say to that is, Amen!

Zaib very nonchalantly announced that Prithvi might not have a problem with their wedding but he did, and anyways, they had never discussed marriage. At this, Prithvi leapt up to his sisters defense, literally, and grabbed Zaib by the collar but our Zaiby baby being the cool cucumber that he is, simply told a furious Prithvi that he had already extended as much respect to him, as he deserved as Mishty's brother and that he had now better act like a good guest and drink his tea and leave. And then calmly pointed that this was no way to act if he wanted to discuss his sister's wedding, forcing Prithvi to wrest his anger under control and try to sort out things.

Prithvi tried again, attempting to uncover what the problem was and promptly being told that he was it! Zaib had apparently taken exception to being pounded and insulted in front of the guests, and showing him a bandage hidden beneath his headband (btw, same outfit as the time he made his debut as Zaib) drawled out that this wound would heal but the wound to his pride would simply become more pronounced with time. Thus leaving Prithvi completely flabbergasted and powerless, he told him to leave and stalked off. Ding! Zaib: 1, Prithvi: 0. Ha! Ha!

The third scene was a meltdown inducing must see. It started off innocuously enough with Prithvi expressing his helplessness in front of Kripa and angrily proclaiming that he had never felt so insulted. (Just wait Prithvi, you are going to going to be subjected to much more than insults and very soon too!) Zaib wanted them to apologize but poor Kripa knew exactly whose humble request for forgiveness Zaib sought and thus goes to see him. And then followed a five minutes worth of riveting, heart rending and bittersweet onslaught on our emotions that only an A-K confrontation can ever bring about.

Kripa, looking pretty as a picture in yellow and red, is shown waiting for Angad outside his house. He ventures outside, offering Kripa a chirpy, "Hi! What are you doing here?" Kripa swallowing her pain and her pride replies barely audibly, "You know! ... I'm sorry Angad, please tum shaadi karlo." And I'm going to quote Angoo baby's exact response since it caused my heart to miss not one but multiple beats…"I'm ready! Lekin uss say pehlay tumhay Prithvi say divorce leni parhay gi." Sigh! How I wish.

Kripa, poor thing, was obviously as affected as we were at such a tantalizing prospect but she quickly squashed her reaction to these words and choked out the question as to why was he doing this to her. And finally Angad's control snapped, taking with it the last vestiges of his carefree mood and flip repartees. He grabbed her hand, spinning her towards him. (In a totally unrelated thought, don't you think it is just too endearing how he can't seem to stop himself from touching her all the time?) He's serious now and wanted answers. He wanted to know she spoiled his life, why she did what she had to him, and in an unguarded instance, unconsciously appealing to her, "mai nai tumharay kya bigarha tha? Tum nai meray saath aisa kyun kiya?"

What could she have possibly answered to that? How could she have told him that the day his imprisonment began, so did hers! An imprisonment in the false belief that he was unfaithful to her, that he betrayed her and her love, an imprisonment in a loveless marriage. An imprisonment in a never-ending abyss of pain that only he could relieve her from.

So she remained quite with tears flowing down her face while he uttered with heartbreaking vulnerability that the people who love us the most also cause us the most pain. And getting up, he stalked off towards a far corner of the courtyard.

Kripa went up to him to appeal to him again and by that time he had managed to wrest his emotions under control, asking Kripa dispassionately what she thought of Mishty… wasn't she pretty? But while Angad was talking, Kripa's eyes strayed towards a slight bruising on his arm and following the direction of his gaze, Angad hit back where it hurt the most, drawling suggestively that a wild cat had scratched him!!! Naked pain slashed Kripa's face, but yet she persistently implored him to marry Mishty, saying that they had gone too far. But Angad was intent on getting Kripa to rise to his bait and insisted that so had they. Consummated their love, that is. But this still wasn't enough for him and he lashed out at her again, cruelly telling her that she was the one who had taught him how too sever all relations so casually.

Sigh! Angad and Kripa can use each other as their personal whippings posts all they like, but the truth remains that when the other hurts, the ache is felt by them too.

Kripa appealed to him yet again to marry Mishty and at some deep, unconscious level, this insistence pained Angad too, just like it pained Kripa to be insisting on the marriage. Angad leaned in and finally voiced out loud what was going through both their minds, saying how strange fate was… 'You want me to marry Mishty, yet I know that somewhere deep inside, you hate the idea and your tears are testimony to that fact. And I know that your tears can't be false like your court testimony.'

This was more than Kripa could bear and she walked off, only to be checked in mid-stride by Angad calling after her that he was ready for the wedding. And on hearing this, Kripa is helpless to prevent her pain from finding an escape in the form of rapidly falling tears. And as she stood there crying for all that she had lost, Angad honed in for the kill, asking her why she cried even after he had said yes, and then forcing her to confront the truth, asking her if his yes hurt more than his no. and having forced Kripa to finally contemplate a bit of soul searching, he whirled around and left.

Preview:

-Prithvi telling Kripa that Zaib had agreed to the wedding.

-Angad standing with Dadi while Kripa stood in the background, saying that his only goal in life now was to extract his vengeance from those who had destroyed his life.

-Angad on the phone with Kripa, telling her that she had betrayed him once in love but he wouldn't give her the chance to do that in hatred and dropping the bombshell that he was already engaged to Mishty.

So Angad is methodically setting his plans of vengeance into motion. But you know what they say about the best laid plans. His mind may dictate his desire for retribution but what about his heart that pledged allegiance to Kripa forever, a long time ago and refuses to forget her.

Angad is burning in his desire to extract revenge. To settle scores with his loved ones who threw his love and trust back in his face. Because Kripa, in her great grief over Angad's supposed betrayal of her love and trust, committed a great mistake but Angad is tormenting her for it, and somewhere in the process, fanning the still glowing embers of their love which will very soon, once again burst into a raging flame, once more consuming these two and drawing them towards each other all over again.

Angad got one thing right yesterday; that Kripa had never gotten over Angad … thoughts of him still tormented her and brought tears to her eyes, the notion of him being with someone else tortures her, when he touches her, he can still feel her innate reaction to him. But I'm going to quote my grandmother's infallible wisdom over here; who always used to say that before we go around accusing others, we should stop to take a good, long look at ourselves first. And if Angad looks deep within himself he will find that he too still aches for her, is tormented by the thought of her being with Prithvi, is still driven wild by her tears, her voice, her touch, her very presence.

Because the truth is that he fell in love with his very own savior angel, though a somewhat misguided and willful one, who taught him to laugh, to love, to live, and he never really got his heart back. Just as Kripa fell in love, completely and irrevocably and forever, with the man behind the mask; with the little boy brimming with boyish pranks, with the sensitive man, the gentle lover.

And in the moment that these two found each other and fell in love, there was forged between them an unbreakable bond. A connection between heart to heart, from soul to soul. And theirs is a blessed love, a true love, whose glow only grows steadily brighter with time. I believe in the enduring power of love. It's ability to stand both the test of time and circumstances. And I believe in their love…a love that transcends the very borders of time and space itself. And you know what the most endearing part is? That though each thinks they were wronged by the other, yet they continue to turn to the other, seeking the salvation from their demons from the very person who they think is responsible for the pain. If this isn't love, then what is?

So let everybody do their worst. Let them plot and plan to separate them and keep them apart, let them set their Machiavellian plans in motion…and then let them all too be awed by the splendor and grandeur of A-K's love for each other. A love that will emerge from this ordeal of time and pain, stronger for all it's been through, more gentle for all the pain it's withstood. But as always, steady and enduring and burning as brightly as the evening star. Because as Taniya pointed out so beautifully in her reply to Hafsa's post on true love, that Kripa herself once uttered the prophetic words … "pyaar ko sirf pyaar ki zaroorat hoti hai"

And if at present, they are happy bashing each other, then as Raksha Di said so appropriately in a post of hers a couple of days back, that these two are each other's personal property and can do with the other what they like. While we sit back and enjoy the sometimes volatile fight club and sometimes poignant love story.

Take care everyone!

Luv,

Amal

I love you - those three words have my life in them.
