Who'll replace Aamir Ali?

According to industry buzz, Aamir Ali who played Tina Parekh's husband in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki on Star Plus, will be replaced. When asked about it, the actor didn't want to comment on the issue but said that he would love to work with the production house again in the future. Wonder who's going to be replacing Aamir?

'Stunt'ed!

She may be the docile Parvati bhabhi on screen, but Sakshi Tanwar turned out to be quite the Jhansi Ki Rani on the sets of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii recently (Okay, so we're overdoing it a bit. Sue us!).

The actress was required to sit in a jeep that was precariously perched at the edge of a steep cliff for a particular shot. The jeep was secured with a chain-link to prevent it from going over the cliff and Sakshi was to be handcuffed in it.

The brave thing that she is, Sakshi did the stunt herself, without using a body double. Yet another scene also had her walking close to a blast of fire and Sakshi not only braved the heat but also gave more than one take to give the perfect shot.

Quite an adventurous housewife she's turned out to be, eh?

They may be on screen rivals competing wih different shows on different channels, but off screen they have become the best of friends. Recently, Rajshri Thakur, Sakshi Tanwar and Kanchi Kaul went on a trip to the US by invitation to meet some Non-Resident Indians.

This being her first trip to the country, Rajshri was excited about visiting there. "I was there for six days and went to Houston, Chicago and some other places. Even though most of the time was spent travelling from one state to the other, we did manage to have a good time."

Gelled well

Talking about her special friendship with Sakshi, she says, "I bonded really well with Sakshi. She's such a good human being and a fun person. I always watched her as Parvati, but on this trip I got to know the person behind the character."

When asked to narrate the most memorable part of the trip, Sakshi says, "I think visiting the Niagra Falls stood out as my favourite moment. It's just so beautiful; we took a ride in the Maid of the Mist, which is a boat ride and it goes right next to the Falls. I think everyone should visit the Falls."

During her stay, the actress also celebrated her birthday on September 22. "I don't know how these guys found out. They got me a cake and we had a little celebration."

Did she miss her fianc Sanjot on her birthday? "Yes, I did. He's quite busy with his work. He called up and wished me that day."

Getting hitched

After postponing her marriage date for a while, she has finally zeroed down on February as the month she will tie the knot. "I think it's high time I get married. Because of work and both our schedules conflicting, the date keeps getting pushed ahead. But February is confirmed."

Another highlight of her trip was meeting some special fans. "I met this child who was in a wheelchair, and another aged man who, too, was physically challenged. It was quite an emotional moment for me to meet and greet these fans."

Does she get time to watch her co-star Sharad Kelkar dance on Nach Baliye 2? "I'm dying to watch it. I haven't seen a single episode till date. But I am quite curious to see him dance."

Back in favour: Mazhar Sayyed

Mazhar Sayyed aka Samar in Saat Phere is re-entering the Balaji camp with Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Last seen in Balaji's Kahiin Kissi Roz a few years ago, Mazar is highly excited about his return. He says, "Henceforth, I will be playing Samir in Kahaani..., the character earlier played by Aamir Ali in the show. It is a very strong character of a man who can go to any extent to pursue his desires."

Apparently it was because of his association with Moulli (his co-star in Kahiin Kissi Roz), whom Mazar has been seeing for the last three years, that he refrained from doing any Balaji serial. Moulli had walked out of Kahiin… because of certain differences of opinion with Balaji. However, Mazhar denies that Moulli is responsible for the turn of events in his life. "I don't think there is any animosity between Moulli and Balaji Telefilms. I guess she wasn't offered any good roles. As for me, I had not been in touch with the production house, thus the long gap," he says.

Mazhar, who kick-started his career in Balaji, with serials like Kahiin Kissi Roz, went on to do several serials like Kucch Jhuki Palkein, Kavita and Kalki. However he hasn't acted in a Balaji serial for a very long time. Mazhar points out as a matter of fact, "I haven't acted in a Balaji serial for two years."

Talking about developments in his personal life, Mazhar says, "I have not been able to pay attention to my personal life. I often feel guilty about it. But the moment I find time to have a personal life, I shall catch with some sleep."

Actor Chetan Hansraj goes out of the way to encourage his fan during the auditions for Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii

Now that Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii is heading for yet another leap, actor Chetan Hansraj aka Sasha in Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii along with a few selected members from the Kahanii Ghar Ghar Kii team, travelled to various parts of the country to audition actors who will star in the serial, post-leap.

Every actor from Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii was assigned to head a territory. While Ali Asgar was in charge of the Delhi auditions, Saakshi went to Banglalore, and television's bad man Chetan Hansraj went to Kolkata.

When the contestants were displaying their acting talents before the judges, one of them, who was an ardent Sasha fan, came over to him and expressed his admiration for him. He was nervous and fumbled with his lines in the first take. But due to his unimpressive performance, he was asked to leave. That's when Chetan intervened and requested his colleagues to give him another chance. After all, the man was his fan and that was the least Chetan could do for him. But the fan goofed up repeatedly. It was only after eight takes that he could get his act right.

Whether his fan bags the role or not finally is immaterial. Chetan is happy that he could help his fan overcome his fears. "This is the least that we, as actors, can do for the people who look on us as role models," says Chetan.

Ektaa hunts for new faces

Once again its time for a Balaji serial goes in for another generation leap. Prime time serial 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' (Star Plus) will have fresh new faces. It is believed auditions for the same have taken place in Pune, Delhi and Kolkatta.

With Smriti Irani (Tulsi) making new beginnings outside of Balaji, Ektaa Kapoor has geared up to give the other perfect bahu Saakshi Talwar (Parvati) her due.

The two were to address the media a few days back but called it off at the last minute. Guess, it may have been to announce that Parvati's character will not be 'killed' with the generation leap that the serial is soon expected to take.

Incredible though it may sound, it is true that the two leading producers of the television industry-Ekta Kapoor and Aroona Irani have joined hands. The veteran actress-turned-producer, (who has made hit serials like Mehendi Tere Naam Ki, Des Mein Nikalla Hoga Chand and the ongoing Vaidehi) Aroona Irani will now be seen acting in Ekta's popular daily Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii.

Says Ekta, "Aroonaji will be making a grand entry in the show, next month. She will have a parallel role in the show with Sakshi Tanwar. Apparently, it will be Aroona Irani's character, which will help Sakshi Tanwar aka Parvati to take the right decisions and help her out in her mission. "We needed a seasoned actress with a strong personality like Aroonaji, someone who will be able to guarantee the show's success and woo the audience as well. And the only name that came to my mind was Aroona Irani."

Apparently, Balaji was looking for an actress of Aroona Irani's calibre in Kahaani... "Balaji was always keen to work with Aroonaji," says a source.

"I've known Aroonaji for years now. She was my fathers' colleague and a family friend. It is true that Aroonaji will be joining Kahaani… team after the impending leap. I'm sure she will be a delight to work with," adds Ekta.

Aroona Irani, who is busy with her show Vaidehi on Sony, will now have to work out her dates for two daily shows. Incidentally, Aroona had said in an earlier interview to Mumbai Mirror, "I was always open to the idea of acting in films and TV shows but I guess no one wants to work with me. My image as a producer makes everyone in the industry feel that I wouldn't be interested in acting with others. Probably they presume that I won't be able to give them the required dates because of my busy schedule." Well, now they know.

Fans of KGGK may have noticed that a huge circle of vicious events have thrown the storyline back to a year ago with the yet unanswered question... Who killed Om Agarwal?

Parvati has just received information that it is a member of the Agarwal family but thanks to Rajeshwari, she is now uncertain as to who it is. Let's take a look at the usual suspects...

Gaurav Agarwal
He is the one Agarwal who isn't a 'half-sibling' to Om yet he has proved time and again that he is capable of much of the unexpected. Gaurav is a character of grey whose emotions can be played with easily and swayed to which ever side he will profit most from. Could he have got tired of living under Om's shadow?

Pallavi Bhandari
She has always been a major opposer of the Agarwals but she has had immense respect for Om. But taking Om away from Parvati would be the ultimate victory for her and she was one of the only people who knew that Om's death was no accident but a murder. Could she have been the murderer?

Kamal Agarwal
He is the only one who's stood by Om and Parvati from the beginning and has only played a negative role in order to help his family, like Parvati. But could he have decided that he wanted more than just to be the faithful brother?

Chaaya Agarwal
She's never thought twice to bring the world falling down on Parvati and has always believed that she has deserved more than she received from the family. If she could collaborate with Pallavi to try and destroy Parvati, couldn't she also have collaborated with Rajeshwari to get rid of Om?

Sameer Kaul
He's always been a good boy, that is until lately. Om helped him out with a loan a long time ago and he together with Bhushan Kaul, made sure they gave Parvati the money back when she needed it. But since then Sameer hasn't done so well so was this deal with Rajeshwari was a sure set way of ensuring a future for himself?

Trishna Agarwal
She has been a mentally unbalanced person and for a long time she has believed that Om was her husband and not Parvati's. This is not leaving out the fact that she met Parvati shortly before Om's death, but could she have been unbalanced to the degree of conspiring with Rajeshwari to take Om out for good?

Krishna Agarwal
Parvati and Om have always treated him as their own son and given him more than he deserved. However, Krishna is an ambitious boy and he's done everything in his power to have his way when he didn't get it from his family, like the countless times he's gone crying to Pallavi. Maybe he got tired of asking his mother for help but was this reason enough for him to end Om's life?

Gayatri Gill
She is the biological daughter of Om and Parvati. During the time of her pregnancy, Om was the only person to support her but later he gave in and let Shruti marry Sameer. If you analyse it closely, you'd see that Gayatri ran away with her baby only after Rajeshwari came to live in the Agarwal mansion. Could she have run away because she feared Rajeshwari might reveal what she did to her father?

One of these people ended the life of Om Agarwal and now it's up to Parvati to uncover who it was. What was their motive and why did they do what they did and for how long have they been in touch with Rajeshwari? All questions will be answered soon and to find them out, keep watching Kahaani.
