Yug was in his office, when the peon came and told him that Sharmila had come.

Sharmila- Hi Yug...

Yug- Arrey Di, aayiye naa...Sab thikh hai naa?

Sharmila looked at him and then nodded her head in a no, tears in her eyes.

Yug-(confused) Kyun, kya hua?

Sharmila told him everything she had done with Neelkhant till date, which was shocking for Yug. He couldn't believe that his sweet sister could hurt someone like this.

Sharmila-I regret that Yug... hume kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai kya kare...Woh sab toh unhone gusse mein kiya... I regret what I did to him...woh waise bilkul nahi hai, jaise hume laga tha... aaj khud se nafrat hone lagi hai hume

Suddenly the door was knocked and Manjiri stepped in.

Manjiri- Yug, Kali apni studies complete karna chahti hai...yeh uska admission form hai... woh aapki permission chahti hai...

Yug- Pishimaa, yeh bhi kaisa sawaal hai... Obviously I'll be more than happy if she completes her studies...

Manjiri smiled.

Gauri was in her room, playing games on her mobile when Yug entered talking on the phone

Yug- kya? Ek beautiful yet simple face? Tere new collection ki model banane? Accha let me think(thinking for some time) I know one girl...

Gauri smiled. After all, she was beautiful, and no one could deny the fact. She started playing with hair, and tried to hide her smile, anxiously waiting for Yug to take her name.

Yug- Meri friend, Kali...abhi toh Vaishno Devi hai...jaise hi aaye, I'll tell you, yeah? Chal bye...

Gauri was shocked. How could he ignore her? That Kaali... she didn't even look pretty, and he was planning to help her start her career in modeling?

Gauri- (angrily) Yug, you can't do this...

Yug-(annoyed) Ab kya kiya maine?

Gauri- tumne modeling ke liye Kaali ka naam kyun suggest kiya?

Yug- because my friend wants a fresh face, who is simple and beautiful.. like kali...

Gauri- You hate her naa? Toh kyun?

Yug- (sighing) Look Gauri... main apni feelings se bhaag nahi sakta... I Love Kali, and my feelings won't change... Toh main kya karu? And yeah, agar tumhe mere feelings se problem hai, you can divorce me and leave... main Kali ka intazaar zindagi bhar karunga... So please, mujhse koi bhi expectations mat rakhna, if you don't want to be disappointed...

He left the room and Gauri felt as if someone insulted her.

Gauri- (throwing the vase on the ground) I Hate You Kaali...

"I Love you Kali..." He said and Kali blushed. They were video chatting. Kali's condition was improving.

Yug- Tumhare bina ghar mein raha nahi jaata...

Kali- (teasing)Accha? Aap hi toh keh rahe the, ki you hate my presence?

Yug-(annoyed) Tum phirse mujhe guilt trip dogi kya?

Kali-(giggling) Sorry... accha, dinner kiya?

Yug- Haan, tumne medicine li?

Kali kept quiet.

Yug- (angry) Had hoti hai... This is too much... abhi ke abhi medicine lo..

Kali-(making baby face) Kadvi hai Yug...

Yug- (angry) Very funny... (sternly) have you medicine, NOW!

Kai-(making baby face) Aisa mat daantiye naa... leti hoon medicine...

Yug smiled as she made faces while taking the medicines.

Yug- Ab so jaao...Good Night...

Kali-(angrily) Hate you...

Yug- (cutely) Love you till eternity... kya kehti hai Pishimaa?... haan, Sona...

Kali showed him her tongue and Yug laughed. Kali kept quiet, much to Yug's confusion.

Yug- kali, sab thikh hai naa?

Kali- (avoiding)Nahi kuch nahi..

Yug-(softly) I know Kali, you must be hating me for not trusting you, right?

Kali didn't answer him, but Yug got his answer.

Yug- Kali, maine kuch der ke liye tumpe trust nahi kiya, I agree... par iski wajah bhi tum aur Gauri ke liye tumhara pyaar tha... mujhe laga ki apni awaaz aur humare Bachpan ke jhoot ki tarah tum uss waqt bhi jhoot bol rahi thi... Lekin, mera dil yeh maanane ko hi tayyar nahi tha ki tum iss baar jhoot bol sakte ho...tumhare accident ke kuch der pehle woh photographer mere paas aaya tha and he told me ki Gauri bribed him. Usne mujhe sacch isiliye bataya kyunki he couldn't live with the lie, and ussi waqt I wanted to come and tell you ki I have started trusting you, par Papa ne mujhe meeting ke liya bulaya, and then, tumhara accident hua... I know I should have trusted you earlier, par tum hi toh kehti ho, Bhagwaan ki ghar mein der hai, andher nahi...Der se hi sahi, but at least mujhe Gauri ka sacch pata chala, ki mere obsession mein woh kis had tak gir gayi hai... Mujhe khud ko explain karne ka chance dene ke liye thanks Kali...

Kali smiled.

Kali- Hume dukh hai Yug ki aapne mujhpe vishwas nahi kiya...Par usse kai guna jyaada khushi hai ki aapne mujhe accept kiya...

Manjiri- Chalo bahut hua, Sona, so jaao abhi...

Yug- Pishimaa is right, so jaao kali, good night..

He hanged the call and closed his eyes and with a smile on his face, drifted in sleep, thinking of Kali.

Here Kali looked at her mother, who was preparing to go to sleep. Majhiri switched of the lights

Kali- (in her mind)pata nahi Yug ne Pishimaa se aisa kya kaha hai, ki woh itni tensed hai... hey Ramji, I hope Yug koi gadbad nahi kar rahe...

She closed her eyes, but the memories of Daadi and Gauri insulting her came to her mind. She snapped open her eyes and thanked God that it was dark, for she was crying.

Gauri went to Jha house to meet Madhuri. She was passing Manjhiri's room, when she heard Sharmila take her name. She hid behind the door and heard her talk to Manjiri

Sharmila- Pishimaa, kaash humne aapki baat sunke methi ke paraathe sikh liye hote... aaj Neelkhant ji ko kitna bura laga jab humne unse kaha ki hume nahi aate methi ke paratha... waise, woh keh rahe the ki Kali bahut acche paratha banati hai...

Manjiri- Humari Kali ke haaton mein toh Annapurna basti hai... itna swaadistth khaana banti hai humari bacchi... aur Yug, unhe toh Kali ke haath ka khaana itna pasand hai...

Sharmila- Yug hi nahi, Daadi ko bhi uske haath ka khaana pasand hai... Maa keh rahi thi, ki kal usne itna awesome khaana banaya, ki Bade Papa ne do serving li paneer ki... that was so shocking... Bade Papa aur paneer? I couldn't believe it.. Aur woh itna accha gaati hai...Kaash hum bhi uske jaise hote...

Manjiri-(cupping her face) Sona, aap jaise ho, acche ho...kisi aur ki tarah kyun banana hai aapko? Ab aap jaisi acchi artist hai iss ghar mein koi? Nahi naa...

Sharmila- Yeh bhi thikh hai... par Pishimaa, mujhe samajh nahi aata, ki Gauri ko Kali ki kya zaroort hai?

Manjiri- Pata nahi Sharmila, par jab bhi Kali Gauri ke saath hoti hai, uske saath kuch bura nahi hota..hume pehle lagta tha ki yeh sirf ek itfaaq hai, par ab Yaqeen hone laga hai... Uss din dekhiye naa, Kali ne Yug ko jhumar se bachaya...

Sharmila- Sahi kaha, warna Gauri Mithila ki star signer todhi naa banti, exams mein todhi naa top karti... Par yeh saari fame toh Kaali deserve karti hai naa... Bichaari...Bachpan se uske saath kitni naa-insaafi hui hai...

Gauri-(angrily, to herself) What the hell! What does she mean by main Kaali ke bina kuch bhi nahi hoon...

Sharmila- aapke Neelkhant ko naa, kuch nahi aata...mere liye saundesh le aaye tha... aur mujhe saundesh bilkul nahi pasand... Humne toh saaf-saaf mana kar diya

Manjiri- Nahi Sona, aisa kabhi mat karna, agar pati aapke liye koi cheez laaye, toh usse accept karna, chahe woh cheez aapki sabse naa-pasandida bhi kyun naa ho...Isse pati ko pata chalta hai ki aap unke concern ke liye thankful hai... Samjhi?

Sharmila nodded

Sharmila- Ab hum chalte hai...

Gauri moved way from there. Sharmila walked out of the room. Gauri went downstairs to meet her father, who was talking to a guest.

Guest- Pooja chaar haftoo baad hai, aap sab zaroor aayiye...

Vishwaveer- Ji bilkul...kyun nahi... Ramji ki pooja hai, aur hum nahi aayenge?

Guest- Aur aapki beti...suna hai usko Maa Saraswati ne apni awaaz ka vardaan diya hai...(trying to remember) Kya naam hai uska?

Vishwaveer- Gauri?

Guest- Nahi...maine usse kuch hafton pehle mandir mein gaate suna tha... woh kaale kapde thi... Haan, yaad aaya... Kaali...Kaali ko zaroor laana...

Vishwaveer-(happily) Ji bilkul...

Guest- waise Vishwaveer, jaanta hoon bitiya ki shaadi hui hai, par kya aap usse meri beti ko sangeet sikhaane ke liye mana sakte hai? Meri beewi ne jabse uski awaaz suni haai, zid pakad rakhi ki, yaa toh Kaali hi Shraddha ko sangeet sikhaayegi, yaa koi nahi...

Vishwaveer-(excited) Yeh toh bahut khushi ki baat hogi Kaali ke liye... filial toh woh Vaishno devi gayi hai, jaise hi lautegi, hum usse aapke iss sujhaav se baare mein bataunge...

Guest- Abhi main chalta hoon...

Gauri couldn't believe it. That girl, and a signing teaching...What crap! How could someone praise her... Her reverie was broken when someone tapped her shoulder, it was Manjiri.

Manjiri- Kya hua? Kali ki acchai suni nahi gayi? Hota hai... jab koi apne se jyaada famous hota hai, toh aisa hi hota hai...gussa aata hai, rona aata hai... isse jealousy kehte hai... Waise, Maaji ka phone aaya tha, unhone tumhe bulaya hai...

Gauri threw an angry look at her and walked out. The whole day, she thought of Kali and her voice, her smartness, which made her angry.
