One Kishore bhakt in search of another
All his life Sudesh Bhosle has been the voice of Kishore Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan. And now he is co-judging a show K For Kishore that hunts for a singer-performers who come closest to the legendary singer Kishore Kumar. Enjoying his role on the show, the biggest Kishore bhakt says, "I knew Kishoreda very well. On some of his tours when I accompanied him, he used to sing the mukhda and ask me to render the antara while he would go backstage to rest. My voice was close to him and now I have the task of chosing another singer who comes closest to him." In fact, the condition Sudesh put forward to Sony before taking on the show is that he will perform in every second episode. "I couldn't just sit and watch others perform, I had to sing my favourite Kishoreda numbers," he smiles. Does he have any regrets that he couldn't carve a niche for himself as Sudesh Bhosle? "It's a matter of fate. I am happy with what I have achieved," he philosophises.
