The scene starts w/ CM and Sudha in her room, and she has picked a diamond studded necklace for Sudha and is trying it on her, as Jyoti walks into the room. CM asks Jyoti what she thinks of it, and Jyoti is impressed. Sudha points out to CM that she's just given her a whole bunch of jewellery and now this? CM asks her to wear this necklace to all social gatherings, so that people there admire the jewellery of the Vashisth family bahu. (How touching!!!) Sudha looks helplessly @ Jyoti for support, which of course would be non-existant for an argument like this w/ a person like CM. Sudha tries to object, but CM overrules her and asks her to stop asking so many questions (It would be admirable had it been for real!) Everything that belongs to CM belongs to Sudha (đ¤Ł) and the diamonds look like they were made specifically for Sudha (đ¤Ł) Jyoti happily agrees, and CM then tells Sudha that all the jewellery there was for her. She also tells Sudha not to repeat the same jewellery to different parties. (Hoo boy!!! Maybe this is another role Devika could fill - consuming CM's jewellery!!! đđđ) She continues that Sudha would be exhausted changing jewellery, but there would not be an end to the family jewellery. Sudha is dazed by these instructions, and finally gives up and smiles. CM then turns to Jyoti and apologizes, saying that she has given everything to Sudha, but no matter, since Sudha is Jyoti's sister, Jyoti should just ask her and take whatever jewellery she needs (Good plot by Minal, this, to make Jyoti feel small @ being outdone by the new originally unwanted bahu) Jyoti, far from being hurt, sweetly agrees. CM then continues that she has only one son, and if she isn't going to deck his wife, then who will she deck??? Sudha looks puzzled (she should, since until then, CM always boasted about how Pankaj was her favorite son, even though he was her nephew) but then smiles and blushes. CM expresses confidence that Sudha will fulfill all her desires. A very happy Jyoti leaves the room.
Sudha enters the kitchen and joins Jyoti. Jyoti asks her why she looks so worried, when CM is so fulsome in her praise of her, and why not - her sister is worth all that praise. Sudha wonders about getting so much so soon, and Jyoti laughs off her concerns, stating that she is happy that CM has started liking her, and that the day is not far off when CM will completely accept Sudha as a bahu. (So does Jyoti at least have an inkling that this is BS?) Sudha is happy. She offers to cut the vegetable that Jyoti had been working on, and Jyoti gives it to her. Jyoti then wishes to herself that Sudha wins what Jyoti couldn't - CM's complete support and love, which she is entitled to.
At the Sharma household, Deepu is fuming that they have all been invited to the Vashists for dinner, and that too by CM. Deepu is suspicious, given how CM must be reacting to the way Padma threw her charity back in her face. Padma agrees w/ him that people of that sort don't change overnight, and suspects that it must be a ruse. Deepu states that he won't go, but the others were free to if they wanted to. KK stops him from walking out, and Deepu protests that after all that has happened... KK concedes that he is fully justified in his outrage at the events of the last few days, but it's also possible that after encountering Sudha, sandhanji (CM) must have realized that money is not everything and that culture also has its currency. She may have invited them b'cos she has embraced Sudha as her own. (KK is not even exposed to the bs, and already he's gulping it down? đđđ) Dadi agrees w/ KK, and tells Deepu that people do change their opinions. KK continues that since the Vashists took the first step in reaching out, the Sharmas should reciprocate, and KK decides that they should accept their invitation. They then turn to Sushma, but she tells KK not to worry, and that the situation is still not conducive to her going to the Vashisth household as Jyoti's sister, so not to worry about her, and that she'd simply eat at home. KK appeals to both Deepu & Padma to accept Sushma's offer, and tells Deepu to get some sweets, since they can't go empty handed.
Back at Jyoti's, she tells Pankaj that she'd let him know thru the intercom whenever dinner was ready, but to rest until then. Jyoti asks Longshree, who she runs into, whether she's taken out the paneer, and Longshree tells her that along w/ the paneer, a lot of other things were also prepared. Jyoti is impressed and asks who made it, and Longshree tells her Sudha-boudi. Jyoti is impressed. đđź She also tells her that everyone from her home would be coming. Jyoti is surprised, and Longshree tells her that everybody from her home were there to eat, which is why preparations had started early, and everybody was downstairs. Jyoti is stunned, and Longshree asks her whether she really didn't know, and Jyoti confirms it. Longshree leaves, and Jyoti is surprised and saddened that everybody from her home was invited, Sudha had prepared everything and Jyoti herself was kept in the dark about it. (Apparently, this is a part of the plan to make Jyoti unhappy and resentful about Sudha's seemingly increasing influence in the household)
In the Vashisth house, both families are sitting in the living room, chatting and laughing away. CM, continuing in her BS mode from yesterday, tells them all that she had never noticed the qualities in Sudha, but that yesterday, when she spent time w/ her, she was cleared of those illusions. She praises the Sharmas for Sudha's upbringing. Padma & Deepu look unconvinced, but Dadi & KK are really happy to hear this. CM then asks Padma why she is so quiet. CM tells Padma that she's for letting bygones be bygones, and moving ahead. KK assures her that there are no recriminations, and that w/ an open mind, they decided to leave the past and accept their invitation. MN agrees, and points out that it's w/ open minds that relationships become stronger. CM tells them that the truth is that w/ her work, Sudha has won the hearts of everybody there (This would be true if CM and Minal were genuine about it, and not using it as a stunt to marginalize Jyoti first, before doing other damage to Sudha) She was startled to see her at work in the kitchen, and that today, all the food was prepared by Sudha. KK & Dadi look proud, while Padma stares @ CM in disbelief, and Minal smiles slyly. CM then praises Padma for the values she parted to Sudha (actually, Dadi did, Padma had little to do w/ Sudha or Jyoti)
CM then sees Jyoti upstairs walking across the hallway, and excuses herself from there. Jyoti is coming down the stairs when she runs into CM. CM demands to know where she was, since everybody is there and Jyoti still is... Jyoti tries to explain, but CM tells her that she knew that her folks were coming, Sudha was working alone in the kitchen and Jyoti didn't think of lending her a hand? She asks her whether there was any social work today that she was going to do? Jyoti protests that she did not know that her folks were coming, and CM asks her what she meant, since she had asked Sudha to tell Jyoti that they were, didn't she? Jyoti said no. CM decides it's not the time to get into this, and asks her to go and call Pankaj. Jyoti heads to the other room and calls Pankaj over the intercom. She sees Sudha working in the kitchen, and smiles, and is impressed.
In the living room, MN is praising the malpoas that Jyoti makes, and says that Sudha should also be taught that. CM tells him to taste the food today, and then comment. (This is not surprising: in the Sharma household, Sudha was the one who did the cooking, while Jyoti did the work: Jyoti didn't know cooking until she got married) Just then, Sudha enters and tells them that food is ready. CM tells her that she's worked a lot, and to sit down w/ her, and that Longshree would do the rest. CM tells KK that they wanted to do a lot, but Sudha and Uday married in such a situation that they couldn't do anything, but they won't allow any shortcomings in the rest of the ceremonies. She asks Padma when she's taking them for the phag pheres. (But they've not even had a honeymoon, and they did visit the house after marriage, which is what a phag phere is, no?) Padma, caught unawares, suggests tomorrow. CM tells her that she'll send Sudha tomorrow. She doesn't want them inconvenienced and knows that Jyoti and Sudha wont be there for them, but then she asks them whether they still had that servant of theirs. KK, Sudha and others look sad. CM suggests that the servant do all the work, so that they don't have to.
Jyoti arrives. CM tells her that Sudha's going home tomorrow for phag phere. Jyoti is overjoyed to hear this, and tells her that she'd personally prepare Sudha for that. Both CM & Minal look flustered, and CM glares @ Minal, who looks embarrassed. (Obviously, their plan, whatever it was, didn't work.)
Outside the Sharma house, Brij sneaked into the compound and noticed that everybody has left, so he is wondering why is there a light glowing. So he heads further inside. In the meantime, Sushma notices that the window is open, leaving it open for more mosquitoes and goes to close it. Outside the window, Brij was leaning against a car, and Sushma is shocked to see him, and quickly shuts both windows. She then goes to the door and locks the shutters, and in the meantime, Brij starts knocking on the windows. Sushma panics, and goes to all the rooms, and makes sure that the windows and doors are all shut. Brij is knocking on the door and in an enticing voice calls on Sushma to open the door. Sushma is determined to block him from entering, and lifts up the bed, sets it erect and uses it to block the door. Brij keeps calling her, and Sushma panics even more.
In the Vashisth household, everybody is eating. CM asks Jyoti to pay attention to Padma, who isn't eating anything. CM asks Padma whether they are inconvenienced by her suddenly making her invide Sudha for the phag phere rasam tomorrow, but KK tells her that it's not a problem, it's their obligation, and if she hadn't beaten them to it, he'd have mentioned it. He points out that like them, even they didn't get to celebrate her wedding, so they might as well have this opportunity. Gayatri smiles. CM is happy that they are all in one mind re: this. (I do hope this ceremony is sabotaged, and in its place, Uday & Sudha are sent somewhere on a honeymoon. Maybe someone like Pankaj can suggest it)
Back in the Sharma house, Sushma is still panicking, and grabs the phone and calls Deepu. In a panicky voice, she tells Deepu that Brij is there, and banging the door from outside, and is afraid that he'll break down the door, and begs him to come quickly. Deepu tells her that he is on his way. Everybody is staring at him, and the scene ends on his face.
A new promo also has come up, and shows Brij paying someone to attempt to mug Pankaj, and in that attempt, Brij knocks off this hired assailant, returns Pankaj his stuff and introduces himself. This way, Brij plans to work himself into Pankaj's trust, and ultimately get back @ Jyoti.
In the Vashisth mansion, the bullshit continued from yesterday, and culminated in CM managing to embarrass the Sharmas into inviting Sudha again for something she had already done, and scrambling to do it. One thing I didn't get - how did Jyoti's eager embrace of Sudha's leaving for this ceremony imply that their plan was broke? One thing I don't like - tomorrow, I have to cover Suday again @ the Sharmas, where I wanted her out from, which she is. Of course, if Brij queers the pitch then, they'll be forced to postpone, if not cancel.
The other part - Brij trying to get Sushma - was really scary. Given that in the precap, they didn't show Sushma w/ Brij, chances are that Deepu returned in time, but Brij escaped. Brij's only trump card is the info he has on Jyoti. The sooner Jyoti tells all to Pankaj, that suit is no longer the trump. But if Brij beats her to it, it's over. And he's now going for it, as the new promo described above shows.
