C49 The Shunning of a Beloved Baisa
What a title, Rose!👏
The C49 teaser was so unsettling with the sighting of the advancing troops from the capital. An imminent attack looked to be on the cards and I was so much afraid of a bloodbath in Parnagarh.
Ohhh no wonder you managed to have a relatively cool head then😳
The horror of what was about to take place and her anguish for her people who had come in droves and taken up arms for her sake was so palpable to the reader. Mercifully, Heera's astute observation of the way the troops were marching in, in broad daylight meant that there was another purpose to their mission, allayed fears of a gory confrontation.
Yes... oh God.. the alternative is unthinkable!
As if the situation was not volatile enough, Lashy Sahiba, you had to drop that bombshell, not one but two, actually .One that devastated HER people and another that stunned HIS men.
I didn't ... Huzoor's troops did!😭
And yet, Heera, bless her soul, with her resolve and wits , handled the situation like the exemplary leader that she is , deciding to obey the Huzoor's summons ,solely for her love.
How well said, Rose
At this juncture , I have to add this- the fact that her people turned against her at this crucial point was for the best. I say this because in a twisted sort of way, it saved their lives as not a single drop of blood was spilt, as was Heera's wish. Had they not heard the truth, they would have defended their beloved Baisa with their lives, resisting the troops in their attempts to take her away forcibly.
As has already been mentioned, this is a beautiful angle from which to view the turn of events - and you are right! It's something that didn't strike me either... so, take a bow, Rose!👏
As for the reaction of her maids, it was agonizing to see the way they treated Heera after confronting her about the revelation-backing away as if she were their worst enemy and not lifting a finger to help Heera with the trunks . But then again, that would be a very natural reaction, wouldn't it? It is their knee-jerk reaction to the earth -shattering news that was heard.
It is heart-wrenching... but it is a natural reaction on the spur of the moment...
Here again, it made it easier ( if that is the term ) for Heera to part from them, in a situation where only Heera had to shed tears and not they as that would have made the farewell extremely traumatizing for all.
Again... a positive ray of light you shed - on the purple skies over Parnagarh, didn't you?👏
In such an excruciating farewell scene, the heartwarming incidents-AMK's men shielding Ustaad's Begum, Mohan Banna's not-a-moment-too-soon arrival to save the day for Heera, even Gauri , rising above her misgivings to serve her Baisa- were enough to leave us misty-eyed.
Awww thank you Rose...😳
I honestly do not know in what condition I had expected AMK to be in,definitely not in the surroundings that he was - held in captivity in an exclusive guest chamber befitting a royal.
Strange isn't it? I found it strange (if that is the right word) writing about him in such conditions too... against the grain...
Aiming to maim his mental capacity -to drive him out of his mind must have been the intention -but his captors did not count on a force more powerful that was driving him to tolerate all this -the love of his beloved!
that is exactly what is being aiming for!
His Huzoor has arrived and the next chapter -the face-off between the mentor and his mentee -is going to be a mouth-watering one.
Ok no... now this is making me nervous!
The edits and the poem - splendid choices to reflect the gravity of the prevailing circumstances.
Thank you😳
To the men of the hour- Ibrahim, Sayyid, Mohan Banna - mwah to each and every one of you. To our amazing author who wrote this, thank you so much and this is for you:

Ahem... I guess the sort of mwahs for IM would differ from those for the rest... 😆 but the best one is for me!
Thanks a ton da for this ...
such a beautiful write-up, much like the person who wrote it🤗
