The launch of the song Ghar Kab Aaoge from Border 2 took place at the historic Longewala–Tanot landscape in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, in a ceremony dedicated to the men and women of the armed forces. The event saw actors Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty join singer Sonu Nigam, producer Bhushan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta to present the track directly to BSF soldiers stationed at the border.
Set against the desert backdrop, the stars performed the song on an amphitheatre stage, accompanied by music director Mithoon and lyricist Manoj Muntashir. The rendition sought to merge cinematic heroism with real-life military service, creating an emotional connection between the performers and the soldiers in attendance.
For Sunny Deol, the moment held deep personal meaning. He reflected on the legacy of his father, Dharmendra, and how watching the 1964 war film Haqeeqat as a child inspired his own cinematic choices. “Maine Border ki thi kyunki jab maine mere papa ki film Haqeeqat dekhi thi, wo film mujhe bahut pyaari lagi thi aur mai bahut chota tha. Aur jab mai actor bana, toh maine bhi tay kiya ki mai papa jaisi film karunga. JP Dutta sahab ke saath maine baat ki, aur hum dono ne decide ki hum Border banayenge, jo bahut hi pyaari hai aur aap sab ke dilon me basi hui hai,” he shared, highlighting how the original Border inspired many to consider careers in the army.

While Mithoon has reimagined the music, the lyrics combine Javed Akhtar’s original verses with new lines penned by Manoj Muntashir, maintaining a sense of respect for the source material.
Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh, brings together a large ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Mona Singh, and Ahan Shetty. Scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, the film aims to continue the patriotic legacy of the original while connecting with audiences on both an emotional and cinematic level. The Jaisalmer launch underscored the franchise’s enduring resonance and its intent to honour the spirit of India’s armed forces.
