Not surprised at Jodha Akbar's popularity at all.
Two words for this show: magical and hypnotic.

My first tv show ever. The cast, sets, acting everything was right on the money for the most part.

Above all the chemistry, dynamic or whatever you want to call it between Rajat and Pari was that electric force that held the show together even when things started slipping. They had this beautiful chemistry right from the get go even before Jodha and Akbar saw each other.
Akbar's flamboyant swag juxtaposed against Jodha's innocence and later the trust and tenderness that develops between the two with the scheming haram and the complicated political climate as a backdrop melts my heart even today.

These two have certainly left a lasting impact on a lot of us.

Thanks Shagun!

Just when I had started thinking the forum is dead... this sudden activity has brought it back, and I'm so so so glad about it. All thanks to Harshu di, Payal, and Revz di! 😃

Their post made me nostalgic too, and hence this post was written.

Coming to it, even I don't completely understand how I became so involved in JA... considering that I hardly watch shows... 😆
But Jodha Akbar was in no way an ordinary show. It had so much to fall for.

Right.

- Firstly, the setting or backdrop was the most interesting one. The Mughal/Rajput era... who wouldn't love to take a look at the lifestyle of two famous people from back then?

Totally correct!

- The story is in itself so interesting, it makes you turn and look again. A story of a Mughal Emperor and a Rajput Princess... the stark difference in the two personalities as it is make for an interesting tale... to top that, they have such eventful lives. The show had the perfect story...if only EK had known how to handle it. I'm damn sure we would still be watching it in it's full glory. Alas!

I can't tell you how much was the writer blasted for the nonsense of Salim Anarkali etc. but nothing could save the show.

- The script of the initial episodes was just amazing. The dialogues were so well-written, it was actually difficult to forget them. One of my friends, who was just a viewer of the show, still remembers the major dialogues. And she was no fan, just a viewer...even left watching after the small-leap. That just goes on to prove that fans or not, viewers can't deny that the golden period of JA was simply beautiful.

Case with me was different. ;)
There was a time when I could quote which volume and which page number of Akbarnama for xyz event without looking at it. Lol

- Then come our leads and their sizzling chemistry. They were so perfect as Jodha and Jalal that they became almost synonymous to our lead characters. And even bad scenes were made watchable by the sheer presence of them together. In the second half of the show, it was only Rajat and Paridhi who carried it forward.

You can watch their scenes N number of times. I have *NOT* seen such a craze even for soccer stars (as i follow soccer) , compared to this because this is going on even after the show has ended. You can see VMs, edits, daily posts, etc. It was/is unbelievable.

- Practically, everything in the show was in place. It had the perfect story, the perfect cast, amazing writers, soulful music and tunes, and a loyal fanbase. It was so royally destroyed...makes me want to kill EK! 😡

I wish we could avenge this. ;P

All that said, Jodha Akbar, in it's golden days, was practically magic. No show, no movie, no story, can ever take it's place for me. Loved it then, and I love it today as well! ❤️

I try to stay away from JA show now for this reason only. Because it brings back those memories ; those moments which will not come back. You feel some thing is lost.

Thanks for the post Abhay... it just reminded me of how crazy I have been and I still am for my show...😃
Long Live Jodha Akbar! ❤️

It will. They don't need any historical backing, they are there, preserved by the people in their memory since long.

I thought you were no longer active here. I remember the show related discussions now too, those good old days, but the show had to end some day.
I hope your wishes come true, Gem. You're welcome.

Coming About The Show

1) JA Is My First Favourite Show And Even May Be Last Because None Can Replace JodhaAkbar Akdha From My Heart . Many Shows Will Come And Go But The Magic Of JodhaAkbar Will Never Be Created Again

2) Though I Was Silent Reader On Fb , IF But When I Joined All PlatForms , Because Of JA I Got My Good Friends, And Yes How Can I Forgot Palak's Questions In Twitter Group About Akbar , Those Were Hilirious

3) Your Historical Post Connected Me And Others To Real Akdha And Today Many Love Them , Adore Them And Myself Comes Among That Many

Hope And Wish Someday We Get JodhaAkbar2 With Same Leads Because None Can Be Best As Parijat As Akdha

Words coming straight from heart. Simple but conveying an intense meaning. Nothing can be better than that. Thanks. :)

PS : I still remember Palak's questions on Akbar. ;) I don't remember how many groups i left & to how many i was added, due to JA questions everywhere, but nevertheless, all discussions were enriching.

Thanks Lavanya.

I forgot to add Russia in this list, as Jodha Akbar aired there too. Lot of traffic from that country contributes to views on Jodha Akbar posts. We have at least one member here, from that country too.

Sab kuch tha. Amazing storyline, great lead pair, good support cast, everything started on a great note. It went well for a year and a half. And then plunged. In this process, had the privilege of meeting any people.

I am repeating what you said.
I agree on all points. Just one thing which remains in mind is - the show could have run longer easily, had the makers been a bit careful.

Thanks for sharing your views. :)

ABHAY I LOVED YOUR POST AND I AM AMAZED AT THE GEOGRAPHICAL SPREAD OF THE SHOW.

I DID KNOW ABOUT. FEW COUNTRIES LIKE INDONESIA SRI LANKA ETC., BUT YOUR LIST IS QUITE EXHAUSTIVE!!!

DONJAS, I SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND SENTIMENTS COMPLETELY

I TOO DO NOT KNOW THE REASON YET, BUT I BECAME A JA ADDICT SOMEWHERE DOWN THE LINE

AND YES THIS WAS MY FIRST HINDI SERIAL TOO. I HAD NEVER WATCHED ANY OTHER HINDI SHOW AND CERTAINLY NONE FROM EKTA

I STARTED WATCHING A BIT LATE AND YET IT GREW ON ME SLOWLY AND FINALLY I GOT HOOKED FOR LIFE.

EVEN YESTERDAY WHILE CLEANING UP MY TATA SKY RECORDINGS I CAME ACROSS SEVERAL LOVELY EPISODES AND ACTUALLY WATCHED THE JODHA TAKING POISON DURING BENAZIR TRACK

THROUGHOUT THE SHOW RAJAT'S ACTING HAS BEEN BRILLIANT. EVEN WHEN HE CHARACTER WAS ASSASINATED, HE GAVE HIS 100%TO THE SHOW. SEVERAL TIMES, I FELT, HE WENT WELL BEYOND THE SCRIPT

BOTH RAJATAND PARIDHI LOOKED GREAT AND THEIR CHEMISTRY WAS SUPERB
COSTUMES WERE GREAT
SETS WERE REAL AND MOST SUITED
AT LEAST THE INITIAL TRACKS WERE VERY WELL EXECUTED

MOST OF THE ACTORS PERFORMED WELL - RAJAT, ASHWINI, CHETAN, NAVED WERE SUPERB AND EVEN OTHERS WERE GOOD

YES AFTER THE LEAP, FOR WHATEVER REASON, THINGS BEGAN A DOWNWARD TREND WITH BHOOT AND BRITISH KIND OF ILLOGICAL TRACKS.

AND LIKE YOU SAID THEY COULD HAVE SHOWN SO MANY OTHER THINGS - ART AND ARCHITECTURE, SOME MORE WARS, RAHIM'S POETRY, BIRBAL'S JESTING

BUT ALL SAID AND DONE, I LOVE IT THAT I SAW AND LOVED THIS SHOW

AND MEETING SO MANY PEOPLE ON THE FORUM WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL LIKE MINDED FRIENDS AND HAVE REALLY ENJOYED READING ALMOST ALL POSTS

I WOULD NOT EVEN MIND IF ANOTHER PRODUCTION HOUSE TAKES UP JODHA AKBAR ONCE AGAIN WITH AN EVEN BETTER SCRIPT AND THE SAME CAST. I AM SURE THAT SHOW TOO WILL GET AWESOME TRPS

Is it a blank comment, Payal ?
Or my add-on settings are preventing some images from being displayed ?
