Reading your post made me nostalgic. It's like all that JA has meant to me comes back in this one post. Loved reading it, Abhay! 😊
Thanks Shagun!
Just when I had started thinking the forum is dead... this sudden activity has brought it back, and I'm so so so glad about it. All thanks to Harshu di, Payal, and Revz di! 😃
Their post made me nostalgic too, and hence this post was written.
Coming to it, even I don't completely understand how I became so involved in JA... considering that I hardly watch shows... 😆
But Jodha Akbar was in no way an ordinary show. It had so much to fall for.
Right.- Firstly, the setting or backdrop was the most interesting one. The Mughal/Rajput era... who wouldn't love to take a look at the lifestyle of two famous people from back then?
Totally correct!
- The story is in itself so interesting, it makes you turn and look again. A story of a Mughal Emperor and a Rajput Princess... the stark difference in the two personalities as it is make for an interesting tale... to top that, they have such eventful lives. The show had the perfect story...if only EK had known how to handle it. I'm damn sure we would still be watching it in it's full glory. Alas!
I can't tell you how much was the writer blasted for the nonsense of Salim Anarkali etc. but nothing could save the show.
- The script of the initial episodes was just amazing. The dialogues were so well-written, it was actually difficult to forget them. One of my friends, who was just a viewer of the show, still remembers the major dialogues. And she was no fan, just a viewer...even left watching after the small-leap. That just goes on to prove that fans or not, viewers can't deny that the golden period of JA was simply beautiful.
Case with me was different. ;)
There was a time when I could quote which volume and which page number of Akbarnama for xyz event without looking at it. Lol
- Then come our leads and their sizzling chemistry. They were so perfect as Jodha and Jalal that they became almost synonymous to our lead characters. And even bad scenes were made watchable by the sheer presence of them together. In the second half of the show, it was only Rajat and Paridhi who carried it forward.
You can watch their scenes N number of times. I have *NOT* seen such a craze even for soccer stars (as i follow soccer) , compared to this because this is going on even after the show has ended. You can see VMs, edits, daily posts, etc. It was/is unbelievable.
- Practically, everything in the show was in place. It had the perfect story, the perfect cast, amazing writers, soulful music and tunes, and a loyal fanbase. It was so royally destroyed...makes me want to kill EK! 😡
I wish we could avenge this. ;PAll that said, Jodha Akbar, in it's golden days, was practically magic. No show, no movie, no story, can ever take it's place for me. Loved it then, and I love it today as well! ❤️
I try to stay away from JA show now for this reason only. Because it brings back those memories ; those moments which will not come back. You feel some thing is lost.
Thanks for the post Abhay... it just reminded me of how crazy I have been and I still am for my show...😃
Long Live Jodha Akbar! ❤️
It will. They don't need any historical backing, they are there, preserved by the people in their memory since long.
