Dear Shyamala, Mandy, Khushi, Sandhya, Gayatri, Sri, Lavi, Shreya and others, Sorry am not actively responding here though I have been keeping myself updated with all the posts. Am busy with Son who will be leaving this Friday for IISER Mohali. He's leaving home for hostel for the first time and I'm being the proverbial Mother Hen with her baby leaving the nest for the first time

Please bear with me, will be back next week hopefully in full force.

I know exactly how it feels, Adiana, but not to worry. Your fledging will spread his wings very soon, and the next time he comes home for the holidays, you will barely recognise the confident young man you will see!

Yes - let them spread wings - TOday son is back home to Bangalore from hostel - will be here for a week - Me travelling to UK coming sat - No packing done 😆 - Even shopping not done - 6 hours before boarding the flight will buy something. 😆

Congrats Adi 👏⭐️ - what course ? - And did he not try Bangalore IISC ? WE need researches and not Engineers in this country now - Basic Science is coming back into VOGUE.

Thanks Sri, As of now his main interests are Chemistry, Biochemistry, Genetics and Molecular Biology. Also he was trying for IISc thru' the PMT route, which will now come by 3rd week August. We still have not ruled that out - if he gets it he will shift to IISc but this he has got and classes start from 3rd August - even at IISc they start from 3rd August - so if he later gets the chance to go to IISc then the learning at IISER will help.

And I agree - We need more researchers than engineers - even in technology we need engineers doing research and innovation - even in medicine we need doctors doing research in medical processes, diagnostics and healing practices. And today, when we have lost Dr. Kalam, I hope more people realise that his greatest gift to us was R&D
