Resham angle is new to me. I didn't go there at all though I wondered who poisoned Haider's mind for him to hate Jalal and Salim so much. You maybe right. Thanks

Will get back to you on this in detail later.. as and when I can..please forgive me if I am late..

As for the updates, I haven't been well so didn't provide the update this week except for Monday. Couldn't even reply back to friends on the last thread. I will try to be back today or by Monday for sure. So sorry for this.
I didn't watch the epi last night but saw the repeat for JJ scene as Neha said it's nice. 😆 I actually liked that one and Salim-Jodha too.

Again, amazing post Di and thanks for the PM. I had to reply to this. Got a few questions for Abhay too but seems like he is also MIA. 😛

Neetz

Pls take care of your health first.

You can reply/post as and when convenient. No need to apologize. 🤗

If you ask Abhay Qs at the proper place, you will get answers sooner or later. 😛

Hi Friends,

I haven't seen the last 3 episodes; just read the WUs shared by a good friend. :) Based on these WUs, I have been wondering about the changing relations and emerging key players in Agra. It makes for some interesting observations and predictions!

1. The SA Relation

Thankfully, the two are shown to be at loggerheads with each other and we are spared scenes of childhood romance.

It is also apparent that so far at least, Anar's family lives outside the palace and has not yet benefited from Jodha's largesse after gifting a taviz to Salim. Things may change if Anar is invited to join Tansen's troupe of singers and dancers.

2. The Murad - Rahim Khan-e-khana Relation

There's tension in the air with Rahim not being happy with Murad's jealousy of Salim. And Murad feeling that Rahim is partial to Salim.

I don't know how much, IF ANY, is true. But this is one relation to watch out for. I am sure that this troublesome relation between the siblings (sort of) will be shown getting only worse. As Murad grows older, we will see him openly challenging the authority of Rahim.

It's amazing how differently the two are growing up under the care of the same "mother". Rahim was such a sweet child and Murad, though outwardly cute, is born with a devious mind. Rahim had (and still does not have) none of his father's (BK's) craftiness, whereas, Murad seems to have inherited the shrewdness of Akbar. Just goes to show that parenting cannot change the destiny and the mindset a child is born with.

3. The Salim - Ruqaiyya Relation

I have deliberately left out the cutesy Jodha and Salim relation and even the impish Salim and Jalal relation. I am more interested in the relation Salim has with Ruqaiyya. Or rather Ruqaiyya has with Salim. It is a given that she wishes to control Salim, the wali ahad, exclusively so that she cane be the real power behind the throne when he ascends it.

She has tried the "being nice" and the "good old badi ammijaan" routines with no success in luring Salim away from Jodha. Ruqaiyya has seen that Salim is more interested in girls and dancing than shamsheer and fighting ( in spite of the unwavering concentration he showed during Jalal's jugalbandi.) Salim Chisti's prophecy is also an indicator that Salim lets his heart rule him. Ruqaiyya is therefore confident that she can easily manipulate him, if not emotionally, then through the lure of a "good life". And what could the good life entail for a prince who has everything? Why, the pleasure of being on a "high", forgetting his cares for a while.

The takht seems to be heavy and full of thorns for the young crown prince, who would rather be out enjoying life, stealing mangoes from the royal orchards and teasing nubile girls like Anar.

Ruqaiyya probably wishes to control him like a puppet on a string by making him so addicted to opium that he would listen to anything she says just to get his next "fix". But how she can succeed in this plan without arousing any suspicions in the minds of JJ remains to be seen.

4. The Daniyal - Ruqsar Relation

Frankly, I do not remember if this begum used to be Ruqaiyya's friend or Jodha's. Someone please remind me. :)

But she seems to be an ambitious mother, stuck with a son who would rather think of food than subahs. She seems keen to prod her son to take more interest in his political fortunes. Again a relation to watch out for.

I have a feeling that Ruqaiyya will sense this and "use" Ruqsar's begum's ambitions to her own benefit in the future.

5. The Emerging Camps

There are clearly two camps emerging - Salim and Haider's. The Salim camp has Daniyal and Qutub. The Haider camp has Murad.

How far will these camps carry their loyalties and rivalries to adulthood, post leap?

6. The R Factor

No, I don't mean Ruqaiyya, Ruqsar or Rahim. This time, the R factor is Resham Khan. :)

Resham could be playing a big game of her own. She may be the one who has poisoned Haider's mind against Jalal. It also appears that she is trying to influence Ruqaiyya too, just like her former mistress, Mahamanga.

What could Resham's plan be? Is it just to make life difficult for Jalal or something more sinister? We need to watch out for this.

When so much is evident about the emerging power equations in Agra even to a casual observer like me, why are the chief players like Jalal, Jodha, Hamida, Salima and Jalal's nav ratnas woefully ignorant and living in their own idyllic ivory towers? I guess they are just being themselves - always the last to know. 😕

Do share your views about these relations and any others that I may have missed. :)

PS: Sorry for being MIA - will continue to be mostly MIA, 😕 but wanted to share a few thoughts with you all. Please feel free to discuss the new relationships on this thread, put your stamp of approval on the ones you like and crib about the ones you don't. 😊

Abhay: Only if time permits, share your views about these factors. 😊

Neetz: Pls continue to update us about the latest episodes. ⭐️

Radhika, thank you for sharing another impressive writeup 😊.

I will share my thoughts about the progress😕 in the storyline, based on the written updates that I have followed over the past two weeks, barring a couple of episodes that I watched this week, at the suggestion of family and friends.😊

1) The Salim - Nadira equation.

Both kids have performed very well in their respective roles. I love their toothless expressions and dialogue delivery, especially Nadira's. This little girl, playing a spitfire Nadira, is a bundle of talent, she maybe getting on many people's nerves, but I've a soft spot for her. Salim is very cute and I like his casual style of acting, for someone so young. The Creatives are trying to recreate the same formula between Salim and Nadira that they followed with Salim's maasaa and abbujaan : endless fights that eventually lead to love. We all know that Salim and Nadira are in the 'I hate you phase now". This will all change in a matter of weeks, maybe days ? 😕 Whenever the leap happens . I am extremely curious to know he names of the actors playing the adult Salim and Anarkali.

2) The Murad - Rahim relationship.

The reason for little Murad'd jealousy towards Salim is due to Jalal's indifferent attitude towards him. This little boy cannot understand why Salim alone is getting all the preferential treatment and all of shehenshah's affection, when he is also Shehenshah's son and does not receive the same love. It is natural for him to be miffed at Rahim and feel insecure when Rahim also showers all his attention on Salim. The Rahim / Salim bonding is bound to increase in the future because Jalal has entrusted Salim's training in fighting skills and his personal safety to Rahim. In the long run, this aspect may the reason for ill-will between Murad and Rahim. Murad will not be able to tolerate the rapport between Rahim and Salim. You are absolutely right in thinking, Murad has inherited the shrewdness of Akbar. Hopefully as he grows older, and matures he puts this skill to positive use and does not get influenced by Haider .
I am confused with Salima's mothering skills. We saw her pulling off Murad from Haider's company and giving him an earful when he pointed out Jalal's favoritism towards Salim, yet, when he is rude to Rahim and again argues and questions the Shehenshah's decisions in the DEK , she just smiled and shook her head from side to side. I never once saw her sit him down and explain to him, the reason why Salim was anointed as the Wali-ahad. I'm surprised that It is the same Salima, who would get unhappy with a younger Rahim and admonish him for the silliest of mistakes and would patiently answer all his questions and point out the difference between right and wrong.

3) Rukaiyya and Salim

Rukaiyya is evil personified, a so called mother-like figure, who will stoop to any level to fulfill her vile intentions. Drugging a child who calls her badi ammijaan is an act that is beyond despicable. The Creatives coming up with such a heinous idea for a historical is nothing short of disgraceful and contemptible. Zee TV and BT telecasting such a distasteful act is utterly and totally WRONG.

Yes, you are right, Rukaiyya will use all of Salim's weaknesses against him in the worst possible way. All she wants to see is Jodha and Jalal unhappy and miserable. She very well knows that Salim is their weakness and the love of their lives and making him downcast will in turn cause Jodha and Jalal to be worried, dejected and sorrowful. Therefore she will continue drugging him with opium and gloat over the repercussions of her action on Salim, Jalal and Jodha. The supposedly perceptive Jalal and his astute wife Jodha will never get a clue of this monstrous act.
After watching today's episode , not only me but Rashmi also felt that it maybe Nadira who sees Rukaiyya drugging Salim and exposes her. We will be two happy ladies if this prediction comes true.

4) Daaniyal 😊 is one chunky cutie -pie, whose interest lies only in food. Yet another darling kid, whose rotund innocent persona suits the character he is playing, perfectly. I love this little boy. I hope the Shehenshah starts showing him and Murad some affection. These innocents are not in anyway responsible for the circumstances under which they were conceived. I wish the Creatives show Jalal realizing this.
Rukhsar has been Jodha's constant supporter and friend , especially during the harem politics. You never know, their equation can change anytime. The Creatives have the ability to show anything. My feeling is that Rukhsaar may instill positive thoughts in Daaniyal's mind about Salim. The Salim / Daaniyal / Qutub bonding may be a good one.

Somehow I feel that even though initially Murad maybe jealous of Salim and nurture an inferiority complex towards him, over a period of time, he may realize that Salim is a good natured brother and gravitate towards him. It is Haider who will turn negative and revengeful towards Jalal. He will carry over this hatred to Salim also, resulting in constant tension, between the two.

I am highly displeased with the Shehenshah's decision of assigning political responsibilities on these innocent lads at an age when they need to play and just be themselves. Agreed, those were the norms in a royal family 450 yrs back. However, coming under immense emotional and physical pressure at such a young age may have been the reason for many young princes to take refuge in alcohol and other harmful habits and eventually succumb to the addiction too.

Yes, I agree that it maybe Resham who is negatively influencing young Haider against the shehenshah. Unless the Creatives introduce a new negative character to do the honors.😉. Knowing their penchant for everything loathsome, I will not be surprised if a new negative character is introduced.

As of now, the Creatives have reduced Jalal to a dull-witted, gullible, shortsighted emperor😒. Jodha is the opposite of fiery, smart and proud😔. Hamida begum has no importance as a Queen mother.
Let us wait and watch evil taking precedence over good and getting pardoned and receiving a forehead kiss even after committing the most dangerous and dreadful act to the heir of the Mughal empire 😔 😒 😡 😡 .

Missed ur posts but i can understand as there is not much interesting happening in the show anymore. All the above relationships u have talked abt r interesting although as far as rukhsar goes i think she is just trying to bring up daniyal as best as she can n doesnt have much political ambition. Btw she was a supporter of jodha and the one who asked her to take over the harem in place of ruqqaiya earlier.

@italics: Thanks Vinita for the info. 😊

The relationship i m more interested in watching now is the one salim will have with jodha after becoming addicted. I hope the cv dont show him insulting her or being rude to her. I hope the mother son bond remains even with all the problems. Also i am looking forward to see the relationship they show between jalal n his daughter ( as cv r saying that according to them jodha had a daughter later). I want to see wheher he will be shown as a completly doting father to his babygirl or will she also be as afraid of him as salim is shown. I hope they show a beautiful father daughter relation as daughters usually are closer to dads than moms.

Hi Vinita

Good to hear from you!

@bold: You have pointed out 2 wonderful relationships - an addicted Salim and Jodha as well as Jalal and his daughter.

First of all, it's really shocking to see children being addicted on prime time TV. Isn't there any law against such things? I mean, adults cannot be shown to drink or smoke on TV or in films. Then can a child be shown as an opium addict? Won't this be a bad influence on kids?

WOnder how long it will take Jodha to realize he is addicted and then how she reacts to him and Ruqaiyya (if she finds out that Ruqaiyya is behind this). That would lead to another relationship that should be worth watching, Jodha-Ruqaiyya. But most likely, this will be a damp squib as always and Ruqaiyya will never be found.

Won't Jalal take any action to de-addict Salim? How is it possible for Salim to stay addicted till adulthood without any adult trying to wean him away?

Jalal was pretty fond of his daughters. I remember from Abhay's kids thread that even Salim used to wonder how his sister(s) could get away with anything. Even Salim, for that matter, was pretty close to his sisters and I do hope the CVs show at least this brother-sister relationship as one of pure attachment with no internecine rivalries and subterfuges thrown in.

I have been waiting to see, in fact, how the kind Salim behaves around the deaf Mehtab. So far, we have not seen this.

Pls also see inline text in purple. 😊 Thanks for posting!

Or is there any hidden matter of salima that is showing on screen at present lagrely its no her real face i.e. she has also ambition to b mother of king hence she genuinely doesn't give properly n strictly lesson to murad not to b envious towards his elder brother!? Viewers shouldn't keep faith any parallel role b/c the fact is on the epic name of Natkiya Rupantar any time for any reason any positive character can b negetive in this show hence Salima shouldn't b out of suspicion.
I Think Ruqsar was that begum who strongly supported n recommended to Jodha being the chief of harem.

Nabiii

Good resolve - hope you are able to stick to it. 😛

Your post reminded me of something I read recently. It said that when a cat sits on a hot stove, it learns never to sit on a hot stove again. This is a good thing. The trouble is that the cat doesn't sit on a cold stove also the next time.

Similarly we have become so used to feeling negatively about everything in this show that now we don't trust any character, not even benign ones like Salima. 😕

Thanks for reminding me about Ruqsar. 😊

Ruksar is Daniyal's mother? Isn't Daniyal the one who was raised in Amer? I didnt know that Ruksar had an Amer connection?
Resham Khan is still part of harem? Did Jalal forgive her for making an attempt on his life? Sorry...that never happened in the NR( am I right? )...so she is being kept in the picture to poison the mind of fictional Haider? Silver lining... viewers still watching the show will get to see a male villain for a change. Why do I get a feeling that Haider will be shown to lust after Anarkali n Salim will be the knight in shining armor. Hope it happens only when they grow up...most of us do not have the palate for childhood romance or childhood lust. But CVs as we know, live on a different planet.

Bang On post Cleo.. 😃
Especially the sarcasm in the one i have underlined.😆.😉.

There is no means by which one can predict what's going to happen.
Yes, you are right, Daniyal was raised in Amer by wife of Raja Bharmal, but in our show's Nautanki Rupanter, he is in Agra, that too with Ruqsar Begum. 😕😡

Well, the CV's are seemingly more interested in bringing in fiction rather showing the reality.
They have not shown Shakrunissa Begum, a very loving sister of Salim. 🥱

And, hell bent at introducing negativity in name of Haider, a fictional character.
Nothing much is left.

Radhika

Hats off for this post. You have analyzed the intriguing relationships in an amazing manner, without even watching the episodes. 👏

I can not write much, as i am not watching the episodes. Just reading WU's when possible.
Now, the CV's are not shying away from showing anything.

You have written about Salim-Ruqayya.

I want to touch upon the new promo. What kind of epic love story is this.?. The leads always have MU, Since the starting of this show, there is nothing but MU. Jashans are meant for "arranging" conspiracies, and no celebrations for kids birth.?.

When Zeenat poisoned one of the kids, an elaborate jashan was shown and when Salim was born nothing happened.?. And rather, they skipped every positive event in the life of Ja-Jo.?.

Coming to latest promo, i don't know what to say. 🤢 Both JJ have been turned into some brainless beings, none behaving in a manner expected. More than this what to say.?.

BTW, as expected Ruqayya got away even after drugging the kid Salim. And i am not at all, enjoying this storyline. Young minds are very impressionable and curious, they are KEEN on experimenting on such things, after watching it.

Mughal Harem had it's vices, but there are many positive things, to be shown.
Why to focus on such negative activities.. They could have shown it in VO, if they had to show this only. 😳 They skip the best parts for VO's and focus on plots and plots in details .!!
